Pulimurugan becomes the highest grossing Malayalam movie at Ernakulam Multiplexes

In just 27 days, Pulimurugan had created another all-time record in Kerala and this time it is at Ernakulam multiplexes.

Pulimurugan had grossed 2.95 cr+ from just 27 days from there and broken the record set by Jacobinte Swargarajyam which grossed 2.94 crore from there this year.

Pulimurugan will become the first Malayalam movie to gross 3 crore from Ernakulam multiplexes as well the next day.

Hollywood movie Jungle Book is the highest grosser ever in Ernakulam multiplexes as it had grossed 3.72 crore from there in its lifetime run. It had ran close to 100 days there. Pulimurugan is now at the second position in all time highest grossers from there.

Pulimurugan’s achievement is sensational when we consider the fact that it is having 4 regular shows in Kavitha Theater Ernakulam which has a seating capacity of 1000+. It also having regular shows in Tripunithura Central, Edappally Vanitha etc.

Despite having regular and houseful shows in all these screens which are located in and around the Ernakulam city, Pulimurugan had become the record breaker in just 4 week time. It is just incredible to say the least.

Jungle Book got 3.72 cr from there because it only ran at Ernakulam Savitha for 3 weeks and from then on, it played only at Multiplexes there.

Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela : Nivin Pauly’s next release is on January

One of the young superstars of Mollywood, Nivin Pauly is having a slew of projects lined up. The actor is right now busy shooting for Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela.

Nivin Pauly’s last release was Jacobinte Swargarajyam which was released in April this year. This family entertainer directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan was a blockbuster which ran for over 100 days in the box office.

His next release will be Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela directed by Premam fame Althaf. This movie, another commercial entertainer, is slated for a January release next year.

Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela will have two female leads in Ahaana Krishna and debutant Aishwarya Lekshmi. Veteran actor Lal is playing Nivin Pauly’s father in the movie.

Siju Wilson, Sharafudheen, Krishna Sankar, Santhi Krishna, Srinda Arhaan will also be part of the cast. Nivin Pauly is producing the movie under his banner Pauly Jr Pictures.

There are also some other some other projects lined up for the talented actor. The actor has completed shooting for the first schedule for the political movie, Sakhavu directed by National award winning director Sidhartha Siva. Sakhavu will release on March next year.

Nivin Pauly has also completed his portions for his next Tamil movie directed by Gautham Ramachandran. This movie is apparently titled as Santa Maria. An official remake of the Kannada movie Ulidavaru Kandanthe (2014), the film stars Nivin Pauly, actor/cinematographer Natarajan Subramaniam and Shraddha Srinath in the lead roles.

Nivin Pauly has also signed for a movie based on Kayamkulam Kochunni’s life, written by popular scriptwriter duo Bobby-Sanjay. Ace filmmaker Rosshan Andrrews will be directing this movie.

Nivin Pauly sure has some very interesting projects in his kitty, that are worth the wait.

The 25th day poster of Mohanlal starrer Pulimurugan had come with a poster caption which says historic hit. We can call it as the best caption to describe the impact this movie had on Mollywood. It is indeed a historical success.

This film had taken Malayalam cinema to a whole new level in terms of its market, possibilities and it also inspired and given confidence to many film makers here to think big. As a result of that, half a dozen big budget projects has been already announced here.

Now, this Mohanlal starrer is making waves in overseas market as well and it is making its mark all over the globe. As per the latest reports that are coming in, Pulimurugan is thrashing even Hollywood movies there in terms of the acceptance it is receiving in New Zealand.

The film will start screening there from November 3rd and it had got stunning advance booking in the screens there. The booking got by Pulimurugan is far greater than the booking got by Hollywood movies like Doctor Strange and The Accountant there.

They had charted around 20 screenings for Pulimurugan in its first week. But due to the heavy rush, they had increased 4 shows at Auckland and now it is on par with the biggest south Indian release there. It was Vijay starrer Theri which got around 24 screenings there on its first week.

Vijay’s Bairavaa audio and trailer release gets a date

Bairavaa is Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s upcoming movie. Teaser for the movie was released last week and received mixed response.

Azhagiya Tamizh Magan fame Bharathan is directing this movie. It is said to be a rural mass entertainer similar to Vijay’s earlier movies like Thiruppachi and Sivakasi.

The team of Bairavaa recently returned back from Switzerland after shooting a duet song featuring the lead pair.

Now according to some sources, songs and trailer for the movie will be released on Christmas day, December 25th. An official word confirming the date is still awaited.

Young sensation Santosh Narayanan is handling the music department for the movie. This is the first time he is composing music for Vijay. So naturally expectations are very high from the duo. Director Bharathan has also confirmed that Vijay will be crooning a song in the movie.

Current heartthrob Keerthy Suresh, who is on a high with the success of Sivakarthikeyan’s Remo is pairing opposite Vijay for the first time. Audience are eagerly looking for to see the lead pair’s onscreen chemistry.

Audience will hoping to see a better trailer after the mixed response the teaser received. Bairavaa teaser was just another ordinary one that failed to create a lasting impact on the viewers mind.

Even then, the teaser of Bairavaa is inching towards 6 million views on YouTube from 5 days from its release. This gives a picture about the kind of fan base and popularity Vijay enjoys among the masses.

Sources indicate that only some patchworks are remaining for the movie and shoot is expected to over by November 10th. After which post production works will begin.

The movie is produced by the prestigious Sri Vijaya Productions banner. Bairavaa is scheduled for a Pongal release.

Karnan, a film based on the epic character from Mahabharatha is not only the dream project of Prithviraj- RS Vimal team, but also for Madhupal-Mammootty team.

Both movies are in its pre-production stage and RS Vimal said that his movie will start rolling from next year March. But reports says that Mammootty starrer movie Karnnan may be delayed and it may start only in 2018.

Madhupal will do another project before he starts Karnnan with Mammootty in the lead. The scripting of Karnnan is now going on as per reports and popular actor P Sreekumar is writing the screenplay of this movie, which will be made using an amount around 70 crore rupees.

Madhupal will have two projects before that. One is a small movie project, as he is making a segment of the anthology film named Crossroad.

In his part, actress Padmapriya will play the lead character and it is titled as Oru Rathriyude Kooli. PF Mathews is scripting this one.

After that, Madhupal will do a full-fledged movie based on the Sundariyammal Murder case that happened at Calicut years back and it will be written by Jeevan Job Thomas.

There are reports that Biju Menon will play the lead in it. Anyway, only after completing these two projects, that Madhupal will land on Karnan. So, it is sure that Prithvi Raj’s Karnan will grace the screens first.

Pulimurugan recently became the first Malayalam movie to cross 50 crores from Kerala Box Office.

Vysakh in a recent interview has said that the massive reception Pulimurugan has been getting is a recognition to the phenomenal actor Mohanlal.

He recounted, Mohanlal’s hard work and dedication for the role of Murugan was unbelievablw. He was very flexible and dedicated to the craft. Age is no barrier for Mohanlal, he is very young in his mind. He never said no for any shot. He was so focussed and determined to make the character look perfect.

Mohanlal was hugely appreciated for his performance in Pulimurugan by critics and common audience. Many prominent film personalities also appreciated the actor for his terrific performance in the action sequences.

Famous stunt coordinator Peter Hein choreographed the stunts in Pulimurugan.

Pulimurugan is being remade in many other languages. The Telugu dubbed version Manyampuli is gearing up for release this month.

Pulimurugan was scripted by Udhayakrishna and produced by Tomichan Mulakupadam under his banner Mulakupadam films.

RS Vimal, the one who had given us the blockbuster romantic tale named Ennu Ninte Moideen last year with Prithviraj and Parvathy in the lead, is preparing to come up with his dream project with Prithviraj.

As you all know, it will be the epic movie based on the character Karna from Mahabharatha. They had announced the movie early this year and started its pre-production works from then.

At first they planned it as a movie which will be made using a budget of 25 crores and now the project become a really big one and RS Vimal says that they are planning to make it as a multi-lingual movie with a budget of 300 crores.

The pre-visual animation works for the movie is going on now and RS Vimal said that the film will start rolling most probably from March 2017.

But, according to Vimal, many people are trying deliberately to pull down this movie from gracing the silver screens and they fear the prospect of this movie creating history in Mollywood.

There are lots of troubles circling around the movie and he says the whole team is determined to overcome all those problems and make this movie happen.

It will take 8 months to complete the filming as it will have super stars from various film industries in India and also they will be shoot the movie in 4 different languages at the same time. It will be shot using 3D technology as well, says RS Vimal.

Now a report is coming in that Shaji Kailas is all set to be back to the scheme of things through a movie next year, which will have none other than Mohanlal, the biggest star in Mollywood in the lead.

This upcoming Mohanlal- Shaji Kailas movie will be produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas and reports says that this one will be written by popular writer Benny P Nayarambalam.

The actor announced this through his Facebook page. The actor blamed himself for his failure as an actor because he sold himself short, did not ask for more and failed to believe in himself.

The 38 year old has also criticized the industry, that many actors from a theatre background were treated disrespectfully. Most of them were underpaid, undervalued and edited out in the final cut from many feature films.

Karthik after completing his engineering graduation, started working in films debuting with Mani Ratnam’s Alaipayuthe. He continued to give notable performances through films like Yuva, Kanda Naal Muthal, Deiva Thirumagal, Veppam, Yaaradi Nee Mohini, Pasanga 2, David etc. He has also starred in three Hindi movies

He is married to playback singer Suchitra Ramadurai. His confessions have received support from number of his fans and friends, who have appreciated him for having the courage to write about the working of Kollywood industry and for admitting his failures.

Karnan has been the hot topic of discussion among the movie lovers of the state for sometime now. There are two upcoming projects in Mollywood based on the life of epic character Karnan from Mahabharata.

Prithviraj Sukumaran will be playing the lead in Karnan directed by RS Vimal while Mammootty will be playing the role of Karnan in the upcoming untitled movie written by P Sreekumar and directed by Madhupal.

There has been lots of rumours and speculations about both the movies. Naturally the expectation levels were very high.

We at Onlookers Media decided to conduct an online poll to see which among the two movies is more awaited by the cine goers.

Around 4500 people participated in the polling. Mammootty’s Karnan received 2700+ votes while the Prithviraj starrer received 1500+ votes. So, it seems that Megastar Mammootty’s Karnan is the more awaited movie.

Mammootty has already proved his mettle in such historic and epic movies through his performance in movies like Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha and Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja.

Preproduction works for Prithviraj’s Karnan has already started in Hyderabad. The movie will be made on a massive budget of 300 crores. It will be a multlingual made in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Many prominent stars from other industries will also star in the movie. It will be made in 3D format.
