The most anticipated trailer of this year in Malayalam cinema had landed last day. Yes, we are talking about the trailer of Super Star Mohanlal starrer Pulimrugan directed by Vysakh. The trailer of the film which released yesterday is been getting tremendous applause from all over and people are calling it as one of the best ever trailer they saw in Malayalam film industry. They are so much mesmerized by the visuals, sound effect and above all, the editing of the trailer. The man who created this stunning trailer was Jith Joshiy, an upcoming highly talented Editor in Malayalam Cinema. He is been on cloud nine after hearing so much awesome reviews about the trailer which is now repairing all YouTube records in Mollywood.

Jith Joshiy is not new here as he had done a handful of trailers before and all of them had attracted people. But the trailer of Puli Murugan seems to be the turning point in his career. The Hollywood level quality which it has in its edits and other technical aspects making it a real winner. Jith Joshiy had earlier edited the trailers of movies like Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus, Mariyam Mukku, 1983 and Action Hero Biju.

He had done the spot editing of popular movies like Action Hero Biju, Jamna Pyaari, Mylanchi Monchulla Veedu etc as well. Jith Joshy had worked as an assistant editor as well in movies like Tamil film Jilla, Malayalam Film ABCD and most recently in Anuraga Karikkin Vellam.

All his works were get noticed and the Pulimurugan trailer is now giving him the deserved attention and appreciation. It has been a stunning experience and the talent of this editor lies in the fact that he had made such a huge impact through the trailer without including any dialogues in it and using only a few shots of the complete actor Mohanlal. Pulimurugan trailer, may be the most awaited trailer of this year in Mollywood had released last day at 6 PM in the evening. Right from the start, Pulimurugan trailer began to conquer the heart of the audience and start trending in all social media platforms. It was listed among the top trending videos in India as well by YouTube. The trailer received great reviews and reaction from all around and people are terming it as the first Hollywood standard trailer from Mollywood.

Now, it had made a new record in Mollywood by becoming the fastest trailer to reach 4 lakh YouTube views in Mollywood history. It had reached 4 lakh views in just 18 hour time and broke the record set by Dulquer Salmaan’s Kali trailer which crossed 4 Lakh views in 22 hour time.

Now, Pulimurugan trailer is all set to create a new record here by marking the highest view count got my any Malayalam movie trailer in 24 hour time. In last July, the Malayalam teaser of Mohanlal-Jr NTR starrer Janatha Garage had rewritten the teaser record here. It had got 510 views in 24 hour time and its estimated view count was around 5.8 lakh views in 24 hour.

Oppam, the Mohanlal movie directed and written by Priyadarshan is been phenomenal in its box office response and the great word of mouth is doing the trick for the movie. The movie is creating new box office records here in Kerala box office and took an earth shattering opening.

As per the latest report coming in, the flick had earned a figure above 5.22 crore from its 3 days run here in Kerala. On its first day, the film had earned around 1.56 crore and from its second day it got around 1.77 crore. On its third day the collection again increased and grossed just below 2 crore. As per reports, it grossed around 1.89 crore on its third day. Collection is going high and on its 4th day, which is a Sunday, the trade guides expect the movie to gross above 2 crore.

Antony Perumbavoor had produced this movie under the banner of Ashirvad Cinemas. The flick has been getting stunning response from rest of India market as well. Kollywood stars like Super Star Riajnikanth, Thala Ajith etc already watched the movie and the great response spreading all over South India.

If it goes like this way, it may break all existing box office records in Malayalam cinema.

Prithviraj starrer Oozham which released on 8th September this year, is holding well at box office now. The film scripted and directed by Jeethu Joseph, was produced by Fine Tune Pictures. The film had got mixed reviews and that reflects in its box office performance. But the challenge from Oppam starred by Mohanlal is too heavy to handle as well.

The film had earned 1.16 crores from its first day from Kerala, which was a very good opening. On its second day as well it had showed a steady performance and grossed around 1.04 crore. Thus the two day total figure earned by Oozham is around 2.20 crore. In Rest of India market too, the film reportedly doing well.

The film tells us a revenge story. The lead character in the story is Surya Krishnamoorthy played by Prithviraj Sukumaran. The movie revolves around the revenge taken by him against those who had destroyed his family. The way in which they takes revenge against the antagonists is what makes this movie interesting. Artists like Balachandra Menon, Seetha, Neeraj Madhav, Divya Pillai, Rasna, Jayaprakash, Pashupathy, Anson, Kishore Sathya etc also played important characters in this movie.

This is the second time in which Jeethu Joseph and Prithviraj Sukumaran joining hands for a movie and their first one was Memories.

The trailer not gives much clues to the story line of the movie. But the visuals will surely blow you off. The camera work has been fabulous by Shaji and the background scoring by Gopi Sundar was also superb. Trailer editing was sharp and it made a big impact.

The negatives we found in the trailer is the last two closing shots. One is the scenes were the tiger chasing a man and other is the shot in which Mohanlal seems like jumping up with the help of a rope. The graphics in the tiger chase scene could have been better and that Mohanlal jump scene felt like a little over the top. But we have to expect that from a mass movie.

Another interesting aspect of the trailer is that there is no dialogues in it and the action sequences choreographed by Peter Hein and done by Mohanlal has been marvelous.

First look poster of Dulquer-Sathyan Anthikad movie Jomonte Suviseshangal come out

The first look poster of Young Mega Star Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming movie Jomonte Suviseshangal had come out today. The film is directed by veteran director Sathyan Anthikad and it was scripted by Dr Iqbal Kuttippuram. The movie had already started filming at Thrissur and will have schedules in Tamil Nadu as well.

As title suggests, Dulquer Salmaan is playing the character named Jomon and it will have a family subject. The flick has been bankrolling by Sethu Mannarkkadu under his production banner named Full Moon Cinema. Vidya Sagar had tuned the music for this movie and S Kumar is been cranking the camera.

Mukesh is playing the father character of Dulquer Salmaan in this movie and Mukesh’s character name in this flick is Vincent. He is a businessman in Thrissur. Premam fame heroine Anupama Parameswaran playing the female lead in this film and her character name is Katherine. Reports came that there will be another heroine in this flick and the team had not yet given any official report about that.

This is Dulquer Salmaan’s first ever association with Sathyan Anthikad and he said in his Facebook post that it is a dream come true moment for him when he got the opportunity to work with Sathyan Anthikad. The film will be the Christmas release of this year.

Welcome to Central Jail is the latest offering from Popular actor Dileep to his fans and film lovers in this Onam season here in Kerala. The flick was directed by popular director Sundar Das who is making a comeback after some years and it was scripted by Benny P Nayarambalam. This comedy entertainer is bankrolled by Vysakha Cinemas owned by popular movie producer Vysakh Rajan. Vysakha Cynyma had distributed this movie as well. Vedhika played the pair of Dileep in this flick and it was in Sringara Velan that she played his pair before. It was her debut film in Mollywood. Sundar Das had made films like Kuberan, Kudamattam, Sallapam etc with Dileep.

The flick revolves around Unni Kuttan, a character played by Dileep who has a habit of taking the punishment of the crimes done by others and by doing that continuously, central jail is more or less like a second home for him. He was in fact born in Central jail as his parents were prisoners there. So he is emotionally attached with jail. Once when he comes out from Jail. He fall in love with a girl named Radhika, who is a studio owner. In a particular circumstance, saves her life from a killer and from there the plot moves forward to the main area.

We can say that Welcome to Central jail is a movie aimed at the audience who loves mindless comedies. The screenplay by Benny P Nayaramabalam focused on situational humor. Most part of the movie has been shot in jail and the humors were related to the inmates of jail who comes there after doing different crimes. But it seems like most of them are fools or behaves like clowns.

The performance of Dileep was the main positive of the film. As Unni Kuttan, he really given a hilarious performance. He was energetic and it was not a character that challenged his great comedy timing. Vedhika also done a decent job, even though she did not had anything extra-ordinary in the screenplay to perform. Others like Sharafudeen, Kanaraan Harish, Kailash, Aju Varghese, Renji Panicker, Shajon, Siddique, Balachandran Chullikkad, Kottayam Pradeep, Kochu Preman etc had done decent job. But it seems that many of them were underutilized in the movie, considering their potential to do comedies.

DOP by Azhakkappan was decent and provided the atmosphere needed by the plot, with his frames. Berny Ignatius team and Nadirsha had tuned the songs for the movie and we have to say that songs does not have much quality. It came and gone and not stayed in the mind. Editing by John Kutty was good and his cuts helped the movie to move in a decent pace.

If you love typical Dileep movies, then Welcome to central jail will be a treat for you. But don’t expect another Two Countries or My Boss as it does not reached up to that level.

Oppam, the Onam release from Super Star Mohanlal, scripted and directed by master director Priyadarshan is going great guns all over and it had got the best reviews among the Onam releases which released till now this year. Audience are already hailing the movie as Onam winner and great word of mouth is spreading all around.

The film is doing terrific business in box office as well along with great mouth publicity which it is getting. We had already reported you that the flick was first seen by Super Star Rajinikanth, a day before the release of the film. Rajinikanth expressed his wish to watch this movie and Priyadarshan had arranged for a special in his house.

Now, the latest report from Kollywood suggests that Thala Ajith too watched Oppam last day and showered appreciation on the movie. A special show was arranged for Ajith at 3.30 PM in Prasad Studios Chennai.

Reports says that this may well become the biggest success in Priyadarshan’s career and the director had indeed made a fantabulous comeback through Oppam. Mohanlal’s performance as the blind man named Jayaraman is the backbone of this movie and he is been getting unbelievable appreciation from viewers. Antony Perumbavoor had bankrolled this project under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.
