Mammootty starrer Kasaba to have a big release in GCC

Mammootty starrer movie named Kasaba, which released here in Kerala on July 7 is all set for its GCC release and it will have a big release in GCC today. The flick is directed by debutant Nithin Renji Panicker and he is the one who scripted it. Mammootty had played a cop role in it named Circle Inspector Rajan Zakaria.

It was the most celebrated Mammootty movie and character by his fans here in Kerala in recent times. In box office too, the film had performed well and hope to continue that in GCC area too. Kollywood actress Varalakshmi Sarath Kumar and Kannada actress Neha Saxena played the female leads in this movie and artists like Sambath, Siddique, Jagadeesh, Maqbool Salman, Alencier, Shaheen Siddique etc also played important characters in this movie which tells an investigation story.

Rahul Raj had tuned the music for this mass masala entertainer and the DOP of this flick was Sameer Haq. Alice George is produced this movie under the banner of Goodwill Entertainment and this movie was the biggest success of Mammootty this year in Mollywood.

Earlier we reported about a rumor that is doing its round in Social Media which said that Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay is all set to do a Baahubali like movie as his next, which will be directed by Sundar C. The reports that came earlier said that it will be the 100th venture of Sri Thenandal films and Sundar C will direct this movie which will be made using a budget of 350 crores.

The movie was titled as Sangamithra and it was a historical period drama. News that came weeks back said that Vijay had heard the screenplay of the movie and impressed by it. So, the rumor spread that Sangamithra will be his next after the Vijay 60 directed by Bharathan. But now, the news is coming in that Vijay will not act in Sangamithra as he had turned down the offer to play the lead in it.

Vijay liked the screenplay but he had no dates to allocate for this movie. They asked 250 days from him to complete this movie and he does not have that much days to give for this movie alone. He had already committed to do some other projects. Vijay may do his next film with Atlee, who had directed Theri with him.

Sangamithra makers have considered artists like Suriya, Mahesh Babu etc as well to play the lead in this movie. But they also pulled out from this project due to their prior commitments.

RD Raja is the one who owns this banner named 24 AM Studios.

Keerthy Suresh is playing the female lead in this Romantic Comedy and the flick has been written by the director himself. After finishing up the shooting of this movie, they had conducted a celebration as well. In that event, the team behind the movie had given special honour to PC Sreeram, who cranked the camera for this flick. PC Sreeram is one of the most popular and best cinematographers in India.

Mollywood Super Star Mohanlal is waiting for the release of his upcoming Telugu movie named Manamantha in which he is playing the lead role. This is his first Telugu movie in which he plays the lead character. 22 years back, he had done a cameo in a Telugu movie and it was in a song sequence with Balakrishna.

This film Manamantha is directed by Chandra Sekhar Yelti, who is one of the most critically acclaimed directors from Tollywood. Mohanlal himself had dubbed in Telugu language for this movie. He had learned the language in one week time and dubbed.

The film will hit the screens in two days time and it will have a Malayalam and Tamil version.

Now, Malayalam movie actors is all set to become active in other language film industries in South India by doing more other language movies. Mollywood Super Stars like Mammootty, Mohanlal, Jayaram, Suresh Gopi etc had started to act in Tamil films from years back. Films like Mammootty’s Thalapathy and Mohanlal’s Iruvar are classics there as well. Now again, offers from other languages are coming for Mollywood stars and they are also accepting the offers with both hands.

In 2014, Mohanlal had done a Tamil film named Jilla with ilaya thalapathy Vijay and in the same year, he had done an extended cameo in a Kannada movie named Mythri. This year he will have two Telugu releases named Manamantha and Janata Garage and in both movies he is playing the lead characters. He is all set to act in a big budget Tamil movie which may be directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon.

Mega Star Mammootty also started to follow this trend by acting in Tamil films frequently off late. He is now acting in a Tamil film directed by Ram, which is titled as Peranbu. Young Super Star Nivin Pauly is now doing the Tamil remake of a Kannada film by Gautham Ramachandran and he will have two other Tamil films from Prabhu Radhakrishnan and Surya B. Fahad Fazil also making his Tamil debut this year by playing villain in a Mohan Raja movie which will have Siva Karthikeyan playing the hero. Prithviraj too will have a multilingual movie, which may be directed by Gautham Menon.

Jayaram and UnniMukundan also acting a Telugu movie named Bahgmati directed by G Ashok. UnniMukundan had acted in Telugu movie Janata Garage as well with Mohanlal.

We had already reported that Love in Anjengo, the last year announced Dulquer Salmaan-Pratap Pothen movie has been shelved. At first the reason for that was unknown as too many rumors are doing its round in social media related to that. But, Pratap Pothen himself revealed the reason during a Facebook interaction that he wants to enjoy the process of film making and if a genius had written crap, he don’t want to be a part of that.

Anjali Menon the writer/director who had given us movies like Manjadikkuru and Bangalore days was roped in to write the screenplay for this movie and Pratap Pothen says that her screenplay for Love in Anjengo was poor. That is why he walked out from the project.

He said that if he does a movie based on a screenplay which was not convincing to him, it will put more pressure on him and during that process he will lose the enjoyment and excitement of Film Making. He is doing cinema to enjoy that process and not for money.

Earlier Global United Media was the producer of this movie and later Pratap Pothen himself got ready to produce it under the banner of Supriya Films. Ilaya Raja said to be the music director of the movie and Rajeev Menon was roped in to crank the camera. Dhansika, the Kabali girl was said to be playing the female lead in this movie in which Kollywood Actor Madhavan also roped in to play a cameo.
