Tovino Thomas-Tom Emmatty team to come up with 3D movie Haano

Tom Emmatty who is going to make his entry to Malayalam cinema with the film named Oru Mexican Aparatha is all set to do another movie with Tovino Thomas in the lead. This will be a big budget 3D film based on the period of 1500. It will be a movie based on a historical event that had happened in the year 1520 in Kochi. In 1520, an elephant is sent from Kochi to Vatican and a Mahout also accompanied that elephant to Vatican. The film titled Haano will tell the story of that elephant and that Mahout who accompanied him to Vatican. Tovino Thomas is playing the character of that Mahout in this movie.

Portugal and Italian languages will have predominance in the screenplay of this movie and the team behind the film is now looking for perfect locations to film it. The screenplay had already finished and the film will hit the screens next year as per reports. Baahubali fame Malayali art director Manu Jagath is in charge of the art direction of this movie and that itself is going to elevate the movie to another level.

Manu Jagat’s sets for the movie Bahubali had got great appreciation from all around the world. It will be a challenge to recreate the period of 1500’s and Manu Jagat is the best option we have in Mollywood right now to do it successfully. Tom Emmatty is now busy with his debut venture named Oru Mexican Aparatha, which has Tovino Thomas and Spadikam fame Roopesh Peetambaran in the lead roles. Jude Antony Joseph had written the screenplay for this movie which will tell the story in the background of Maharajas College in 1970’s. The promo song for this movie has been shot at Maharajas last day.

Tom Emmatty had announced another project named Mech Rani as well which will tell the story of a girl who comes to study Mechanical Engineering in an Engineering College.

Janata Garage is now one of the most awaited movies in South India for one reason. The Telugu teaser had crossed 4 million views and created a new record at Tollywood. They movie was planned to release on August 12 this year. But now reports coming in that, the movie has been postponed to September this year.

Due to the heavy rain in Hyderabad, there happened a delay in finishing the climax shoot of the movie and the makers now needs some more time for the post-production. They want to come out with a technically brilliant product and that is why they are taking their time. Some report says that it will hit the screens on September 2 this year. But no date has officially announced by the team behind the film.

Jr NTR fans asking the makers to either release it on August 12 as per earlier plans or postpone it to September 30. Because they want a holiday window around the release date of the movie.

Kasaba, the Nithin Renji Panicker directorial Mega Star Mammootty starrer had completed its first week run here in Kerala and last day it had begun its second week run here. From first 7 days this film had raked in an amount 9.54 crore. It is a great first week figure even though it failed to break the Premam first week gross. Premam had earned more than 10 crore in its first week run here in Kerala.

Kasaba has now crossed 10 crore in box office by adding the 8th day collection of the film. On its 8th day, the flick had got 49 lakhs from Kerala alone and the total gross in 8 days now stands at 10.03 crores. This is the first Mammootty starrer in the last 5 years to cross 10 crore mark in just 8 days time in Mollywood. That itself shows that this actor is back with a bang in terms of his crowd pulling capacity.

Kasaba team is hoping that the film will soon get to the 15 crore mark as the collection is now dropping at a brisk rate. The working days will take its toll on movies even with great reports, so it is not a wonder when Kasaba is showing drop in its box office earnings each day.

Kasaba, the film conceived by Nithin Renji Panicker with Mega Star Mammootty in the lead, had completed a successful first week in screens here in Kerala. The film which is made as a mass masala entertainer mainly aimed at the diehard fans of Mammootty and they had accepted the flick with both hands. It had shown a fabulous box office performance in its first week of run here, thanks largely to the weekend gross of 7.36 crores it earned from 4 days.

Because of a Thursday release, the flick had got one extra day in its first weekend and the genre of the movie had did the rest. Maximum audience came to watch the movie in its first weekend itself thanks to the hype it created before the release and that helped it to reach that figure we mentioned above. On its 7th day, the flick had got around 61 lakhs and thus the first week total gross of the movie from Kerala stands on 9.54 crore.

The 5th and 6th day had contributed 82 lakhs and 75 lakhs respectively. The drop in collection is constant and it is going down as each day passes. But it is an expected phenomenon when working days gets started after the weekend.

Mammootty had indeed made a great comeback through this movie. If we consider the box office performance of his movies in last 4 or 5 years, this may be the first time that a movie of his had grossed near 10 crore in its first week itself.
