Pulimurugan teaser becomes the first Malayalam movie teaser to cross 1 million views

Mohanlal, the man who holds almost every records in Mollywood box office created a new record as well here. His upcoming film named Pulimurugan’s teaser had crossed 1 million views in YouTube today and now it become the first ever Malayalam Movie teaser to cross 1 million views in YouTube. Earlier it created the record of most viewed Malayalam Film teaser in 24 hour time on the day of its release as well. Once again Mohanlal proves that when it comes to popularity and star value he is still at the top.

Pulimurugan was expected to hit the screens in this coming July. But due to a delay in its post-production works, the film had postponed to August as per reports. The official release date of the film will be announced later.

The movie has been directed by Vysakh and written by Udaya Krishna who had wrote his first independent screenplay with this. Tomichan Mukalupadam had produced this movie which said to be the biggest budget Malayalam film in Mohanlal’s career till now. The team behind the film is planning a worldwide release of the movie and they are also trying to release it in as many 7 languages as possible.

Peter Hein, India’s most valuable stunt choreographer had composed the stunt sequences in this movie. Mohanlal had done some adventurous stunt sequences without dupes for this film and the presence of a real tiger will be the highlight of this movie in which Mohanlal plays a wild hunter.

It was Aju Varghese who become instrumental in bringing her to this film and she says most of her part in this movie will be shot in Thrissur. Her part will be over by August and she looks to continue her studies after finishing this movie.

This Jibu Jacob film will be a comedy-family entertainer and along with Mohanlal, there will be artists like Aju Varghese, Biju Menon, Sudheer Karamana, Suraj Venjarammoodu, Nedumudi Venu etc will be in this film as well. Meena will play the female lead in this movie who plays the mother character of Aima Sebastian’s character Gini.

Dulquer Salmaan’s second release this year, named Kammatipaadam had completed 4 weeks in Kerala Box office. This film is written by actor/director P Balachandran and conceived by popular cinematographer and director Rajeev Ravi. The film had received great reviews from critics and many celebrities also come out praising the film.

A section of the audience who loves realistic thrillers also gave thumps up for this realistic gangster movie. But the common audience was not really shown an excitement to watch this film and that had affected its box office response. As per latest reports that coming in from trade pandits in our industry, the film had grossed around 12.15 crore from its 28 days run here in Kerala.

The collection status of the film in last week is too low and this was a trend we witnessed right from its start at box office. The Adults Only certificate given to it by Censor Board of Film Certification and the overall dark nature of the film had kept the family audience away as well from the screens. The film had got around 11.50 crore in 21 days and from next 7 days it amassed only around 65 lakhs. The average collection per day was only around 9 lakhs in last week.

Recently the film came to lime light when the pirated print of the movie is uploaded online by a Facebook page and the producers of this film had filed a complaint against that Facebook page in Anti-Piracy cell.

The Conjuring 2, the James Van directorial horror film is going great guns all over the world with fabulous reviews from everywhere. The flick had become a sensational hit in India as well amassing great response from film lovers and many people even claimed that this is the scariest film among the horror films directed by James Van.

Few days before we reported an incident in which a 65 year old man had died while watching Conjuring from a theater at Tamil Nadu. He was watching the film at a theater named Balasubrahmaniayer Theater at Thiruvannamalai. While watching the movie, this unknown man felt a chest pain and collapsed there. Ambulance was called in quickly and the man was rushed to the nearby hospital. But he breathed his last there at that hospital unfortunately.

But now a strange incident had happened after that, related to the issue. The dead body of that man went missing from the hospital, when they tried to transport that dead body. The Doctors of that hospital had sent the dead body of the unknown man to Tiruvannamalai Government Medical College Hospital. But along with that dead body, the person who tasked with the responsibility to transport the body also went missing.

As of now they believes that the person who went missing may have run away with the dead body. But some people believes that there is something super natural associated with the incident as well. The clear cut explanation related to the incident expected to come very soon and we hope that it will clear all air regarding the presence of super natural element in this strange incident.

This film is released in February which is directed by Abrid Shine after the movie 1983 which released in 2014. Nivin Pauly and Abrid Shine had bankrolled this film together and it is their first production venture as well. Even though the film started off with a setback in box office, then it picked its pace up and ended up by collecting around 30 crores from all over the world. It had completed 100 days run here in Kerala as well.

Jacobinte Swarga Rajyam was released in this year April and it was written and directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan. Till now, the film had collected around 25 crores from its worldwide run.

King Liar

Dileep starrer film King Liar directed by Lal and scripted by Siddique-Lal combo released in this year April. The film had grossed near 21 crores from all over the world.  Premam fame Madonna Sebastian played the female lead in it.

This film was directed by debutant Dileesh Pothen and produced by Aashiq Abu. Fahad Fazil played the lead in this Shyam Pushkaran scripted movie. The film had released in this year February and got around 16 crores from Kerala alone. This was a small budget movie shot in Idukki district of Kerala. Anusree and Aparna Balamurali played the female leads in this movie.

Prithviraj starrer Pavada directed by G Marthandan was the first hit of this year. Maniyan Pillai Raju produced this movie and it was scripted by Bipin Chandran. The film had got around 16 crores from worldwide and becomes Prithviraj’s 4th continuous success at box office.

Kali

This film was directed by Sameer Thahir and starred by Dulquar Salman- Sai Pallavi pair. Kali was released in the last week of March and got a great start at box office. Even though it could not able to make that great start count, it ended up collecting around 17 crores from worldwide. Lack of Family support let the film down after the initial phase of its run here.

Happy Wedding

This is the surprise hit of the year 2016 so far. This movie is directed by debutant Omar released in May and a group of newcomers had acted in it, in lead roles. Premam fame artists like Siju Wilson, Sharafudeen, Justin etc played the lead in it and this small budget fun film had already entered the profit zone as per reports. The movie is getting great response from screens here in Kerala now.

Films like Kammattipadam, Aadu Puliyattam etc running here now. But they will only end up as average grossers due to its big budget nature. Last year releases like Charlie (Release date : December 24, 2015) and Two countries (Release date : December 25, 2015) made most of its run at box office this year. If we considered that situation, the highest collected film in this year is Dileep Starrer Two Countries which collected above 50 crores in its worldwide run.

We had earlier reported that Nadippin Nayakan Suriya is all set to become a part of a big budget Tamil movie which will be directed by Sundar C. It will be a movie which is expected to be the biggest ever film in India in terms of its budget and Thenandal Films is all set to bankroll this upcoming film based on Mythology. The film already making its place in the news headlines even before the official announcement of the project and Tamil media calling it the Bahubali of Kollywood.

As per the latest report that is coming from Kollywood, Suriya had withdrawn from the movie as he had given dates to Madras and Kabali fame director Pa. Ranjith. Suriya is all set to act in this Pa. Renjith film after he completes Singham 3. Reports says that the team behind Sundar C’s big budget project had approached Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay to play the lead in it.

Mohanlal-Priyadarshan team, undoubtedly the most successful actor-director pair in Mollywood is coming with their new project named Oppam before you this Onam. The filming of Oppam is over few days back at Trivandrum and Mohanlal playing a blind lift operator in this crime thriller. The film had a Kochi schedule and then an Ootty schedule as well.

Now a report coming in that Oppam has a connection with Thalavattam which is one of the earlier movies done by this magical pair. What may be the connection between these two films..? Priyadarshan and Mohanlal went to Ootty to shoot some scenes of Oppam and they went there to shoot a film after 22 long years. Earlier they had shot films like Thalavattam, Kilukkam, Mithunam, Minnaram etc and all of them were super successful as well. They went there 30 years before to shoot a song sequence in the film named Thalavattam and Mohanlal wanted to shoot a scene in Oppam which will make everyone remember about Thalavattam.

So, they shot a sequence at Ootty for Oppam where they shot a song sequence of Thalavattam 30 years back. They recreated the evergreen super hit song from Thalavattam starting with the lines “Ponveene..” for Oppam there at Ootty. Mohanlal and Lissy acted in that song sequence in Thalavattam and now in Oppam, child artist Meenakshi had acted with Mohanlal in the recreated sequence. Priyadarshan said that they set the same frame using the same lens to film the recreated scenes of that song, for Oppam. He said that the location has not changed a bit, but only they had changed with time. The place is as beautiful as it was before.
