Enthiran also bowed down before Theri in Chennai

Vijay starrer Theri conceived by Atlee continues to create new milestones at box office. The film which released on April 14th this year had completed its 30 days run all over the world and from 1 month time it had grossed over 170 crores from all over the world. The film is now moving forward to the 200 crore club in Kollywood where only Rajinikanth’s Enthiran put its steps on.

If Theri crosses 188 crores, it will become the highest grosser in Vijay’s career surpassing Thuppakki directed by AR Murugados few years back. Even though Enthiran is way forward in its total worldwide collection, it had to bow down before Vijay’s Theri in Chennai city.

As per the latest trade reports, the film Theri had crossed 11 crore gross collection from Chennai alone. That means it had surpassed the record set by Enthiran few years back by collecting around 11 crore from Chennai City. Theri is still running there with decent figures from Chennai and will end up collecting a figure that will be pretty difficult for other films to surpass.

The film also made record at Mayajal multiplex complex at Chennai in terms of the number of audience came to watch this film till now.

24 movie starred and produced by actor Suriya done great business at box office. After a long time a Suriya film is making the money bells ringing at box office and Suriya has to thank the one named Vikram Kumar for all this. Vikram Kumar is the brain behind this film who wrote and directed this flick which is a science fiction yet fantasy film.

As per the latest collection reports coming, the film had got a gross collection around 89.6 crores from 11 days of its worldwide run. The film expected to reach the 100 crore club within few more days.

On the very first day, the film had got around 20 crore+ from its worldwide run. On the second day, it got around 21 crores and on the third day it raked in an amount near 22 crores. Thus, the total weekend collection of the film was around 65 crores from worldwide. It had got more than 20 crores in its first 3 days from worldwide run. The film had grossed more than 17 crores from Telengana- Andhrapradesh region alone in 4 day time.

The working days affected the collection of the film later and it only grossed near 25 crores from worldwide in its next 8 days. Even though the collections dropped down from the amazing beginning at box office, it still doing fairly decent business all over. From Kerala, alone it had got more than 8.5 crores in 11 days and from Chennai City alone it had raked in an amount near 4 crore as per reports.

Kunchacko Boban starrer flick named Valleem Thetti Pulleem Thetti aka Valliyum Thetti Pulliyum Thetti had released on May 12th all over. Debutant Rishi Sivakumar had directed and written this film and it was produced by Faisal Latheef under Achappu Movie Magic. The film had created a fair amount of pre-release hype with its unique posters and a very promising trailer.

But in theaters it had opened to negative reviews and that affected its collections as well. As per the latest reports that is coming from the trade guides here, the film only managed to get a figure around 1.8 crore from Kerala in its 5 days of run here.

The negative word of mouth had affected the box office returns badly and heavy rain all over Kerala also become a factor. The film was an entertainer which can be a onetime watchable flick for family audience if they go without zero expectation. The performances of artists like Kunchacko Boban, Suresh Krishna, Manoj K Jayan, Aneesh G Menon, Krishna Sankar etc are is the highlight of this movie. The music by Soorej S Kuruppu also made it to the hit chart.

The share earned by the film is reaching only around 85-90 lakhs and we have to say that it had took a below average opening in box office.

Chennai Express fame actress Puvisha Manoharan accuses of sexual harassment

Actress named Puvisha Manoharan, who shot to fame through the blockbuster Bollywood film named Chennai Express directed by Rohit Shetty and starred by Sharukh-Deepika Padukone Jodi, complains that she was sexually harassed by popular Kannada film producer Venkatesh Prasad Belaguli and the cinematographer named Uday Ballal.

She had worked in a Kannad film named Jil Jil and Venkatesh Prasad Belaguli was the producer of that film. Uday Ballal cranked the camera for Jil Jil and Puvisha accused that both of them harassed her sexually right from the moment she signed to play the lead role in the film.

Jil Jil was released last year and Madhu was the director of that movie. Now she is all set to file legal complaint against them for this. Venkatesh Prasad Belaguli was earlier a journalist and later become film producer.

Puvisha Manoharan had acted in Chennai Express as one of the cousin sisters of Deepika Padukone who played the female lead in that movie. Anyway her accusation had really shocked the Kannada film industry. If Puvisha goes as per her plan to file case against them, then it will difficult for both Venkatesh and Uday to come out of this trouble.

Actor/director Sidharth Bharathan was in news last year for some good reason as well as some unfortunate reason. First one was the surprise success of his film Chandrettan Evideya with Dileep in the lead. Then, he met with a car accident and seriously injured. But he recovered well and after that he said to media that he will do a film with Mohanlal next. He said that he was all set to tell the story to Mohanlal before the accident took place.

Everyone got excited after this news as they know if a director of the caliber of Sidharth Bharathan joins with a legend like Mohanlal, they can expect a terrific movie. But, some weeks back another report came in that the Mohanlal-Sidharth Bharathan movie shelved due to the hectic schedule of Mohanlal.

That report said that Mohanlal don’t have dates to give Sidharth Bharathan as his schedule is already full for the coming few years as well. Meanwhile Sidharth had announced his next film with Jayasurya in the lead. But he told to media that the Mohanlal project is not dropped.

He said that he is not finished the screenplay of that project yet and will finish it once he winds up the works of his Jayasurya film. He said he will definitely do the Mohanlal project next year hopefully. He will start the Jayasurya film only by the end of this year and it will be a film based on the theme of mistaken identity. Acclaimed writer Anand Neelakandan also said to be associating with this movie by Sidharth Bharathan.

Director Kamal, one of the most senior film makers in Kerala had criticized Actor and MP Suresh Gopi recently for his political activities. Kamal said that Suresh Gopi become a slave to Narendra Modi, who is more or less an inhuman political leader. But the fans of Suresh Gopi had reacted to this fiercely.

They had placed a flex board in front of Kamal’s house and put a garland made of Chappals on the photo of Kamal to insult him as well. Many people had reacted against Kamal in this issue through Social Media few days before. The flex with chappal garland on it was placed in front of the house of Kamal at Thandankulam near Kodungalloor Modern Hospital.

Suresh Gopi’s photo is also on that flex. In that flex there is a dialogue as well by the fans of the Super star. They asks Kamal that on what right he had insulted a popular Social Worker like Suresh Gopi who does so much good to the people of our society. They also asks what had Kamal did for the good of people around him. Suresh Gopi fans also alleges that Kamal is a communalist and he had no right to criticize Suresh Gopi.

Kamal reacted to this by saying that he is working in cine field for 26 years and everybody knows his secular attitude. Even Suresh Gopi knows his secular way of thinking and Kamal says he don’t care about these activities by some fans of Suresh Gopi.

Reports are coming in that the memorial light (Kedavilakk) that had placed as a tribute to Late actor Kalabhavan Mani was destroyed by Police as per the order from District Collector. The light was made and placed by a charitable society named Kalabhavan Mani Sevana Samithi.

Earlier, The Collector had ordered the charitable society to remove that light from there and place it somewhere else. The Charitable Society members requested for some more time to move the light from there as they had to find a new place to fix that memorial light. But Police had destroyed that light without giving them the proper time and they alleged that the police also destroyed the plates using for free food distribution there.

They had posted in Facebook that people who do good for the society always get neglected. Even though they had moved their office as per the Collector’s order, they requested for some more time to move the light from its place. They alleged that just like Kalabhavan Mani faced injustice from Police, now his memorial also got destroyed by them. They want all of us to protest against this cruelty and they want all who loves Kalabhavan Mani at the Charitable Society office tomorrow to stage the protest against this act by police and district collector.

Young Super Star Dulquer Salmaan had lend his voice to narrate the story of this film and the film begins and ends with Dulquer’s voice. There is an interesting fact about Dulquer and Gokul Suresh is that, the debut of these two bear some similarities. Dulquer Salmaan had made his debut through the film named Second Show.

Like Mudhugauv, Second Show was also a comedy thriller. Second Show was directed by Sreenath Rajendran and it was his maiden venture as well. Second Show was economically a profitable venture due to its low production cost and Muthugow also going that way travelled by Second Show. It may be a coincidence, but an interesting one indeed.
