Kerala Boxoffice : King Liar and Jacobinte Swargarajyam on the way to the 20 crore club of Mollywood

The major summer releases in Mollywood were Dileep starrer film King Liar and Nivin Pauly starrer flick Jacobinte Swargarajyam. King Liar was directed by Lal and scripted by Siddique-Lal combination after 22 years. Madonna Sebastian played the female lead in this Dileep starrer which got above average word of mouth from the audience.

As per reports, King Liar had collected around 19 crore till now and all set to cross 20 crores gross from Kerala alone before it ends its run here. The film had completed 12000 shows as well here in Kerala.

Jacobinte Swargarajyam was written and directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan and released on April 8. The film got great response from the audience and also won critical appreciation. Box office too responded great to this film and as of now, it had collected more than 19 crores. From Ernakulam multiplexes alone, it had grossed near 2.5 crores. From Calicut also it got a figure near 1 crore rupees. Renji Panicker played the title character of Jacob in this film and female lead is played by Reba and Aima Sebastian.

It has been a good summer season for Mollywood as both big Malayalam releases going to find a place in the prestigious 20 crore club here.

Today is the day in which the assembly elections being conducted in Kerala. People went to polling booth from early morning to cast their valuable votes irrespective of bad weather. Celebrities also did not forget to cast their votes and young star Dulquer Salmaan is one among them. Dulquer Salmaan had casted his first vote in Kerala today. His voting center was GHSS Panambilly Nagar. Till last time, he casted his vote in Chennai and this is for the first time that he casted his vote in an election held in Kerala.

There were many messages spread in social media like Facebook and Whatsapp telling youngsters to not to vote this time as a protest against the political parties. But Dulquer Salmaan asks his friends and fellow people to cast their valuable votes and he set an example by went to vote early in the morning.

Dulquer Salmaan had shared a photo of him in his official Facebook page after voting with the ink on his finger. Through that Facebook post he told everyone that its our right and responsibility to vote. He told everyone to go and vote and said that you are not cool if you don’t vote.

Dulquer Salmaan is currently on a break after the Amal Neerad film stopped filming due to heavy rain in Kottayam.

Nivin Pauly had emerged as one of the most sought after and popular young star in Mollywood and many people says that his association with actor/director Vineeth Sreenivasan become instrumental in that. That is true in a sense that Vineeth Sreenivasan is the one who introduced Nivin and later given him many super hits like Thattathin Marayathu, Oru Vadakkan Selfie, Jacobinte Swarga Rajyam etc.

But we can say that LJ films owned by director Lal Jose also played an integral part in the growth of Nivin Pauly as a star and as an actor. LJ Films and Nivin had emerged as a super hit pair for a reason as well.

LJ films associated with Nivin Pauly for the first time in Thattathin Marayathu, which was distributed by them. It was a super successful movie which made Nivin very popular here. Then came Neram, another super success directed by Alphonse Puthren, from this combination of LJ films and Nivin. In 2014, the film 1983 directed by Abrid Shine was released, which was a commercial success and helped Nivin to get a state award for best actor as well. Lj films was behind that movie as well. Then Nivin played a guest appearance in Lal Jose directorial film Vikramadithyan in the same year.

Next year this team joined for the film named Oru Vadakkan Selfie which started a series of blockbusters for Nivin Pauly. Later they came together for the film named Action Hero Biju by Abrid Shine as LJ film distributed it. The latest one came from their combination is Jacobinte Swargarajyam which is moving to blockbuster now. As we said above, this combo is a super hit one for a reason.

Director Anil Radhakrishnan Menon has announced his next film and it will be Fahad Fazil. Fahad Fazil had played the male lead in Anil Radhakrishnan Menon’s first film titled 24 North Kaatham (2013) and it was box office success. It had won great critical appreciation and also won national award for best Malayalam movie of that year.

Later Anil Radhakrishnan Menon had done two more movies like Sapthamasree Thaskaraha (2014) with Prithviraj and Lord Livingstone 7000 kandi (2015) with Kunchacko Boban. Sapthamasree was a box office success and Lord Livingstone did not made much impact at box office.

So, it will be the 4th outing of Anil Radhakrishnan Menon and now he had roped in Fahad Fazil, his first hero. Anil himself told about his upcoming Malayalam movie with Fahad through his Facebook account posting a picture with Fahad Fazil. As per reports it will be a fun entertainer and will be written by the director himself.

There were some reports earlier that Anil Radhakrishnan Menon is all set to do a film written by Calicut District Collector Prashant and his wife. But later no updates regarding that project came in the media.

Gokul Suresh, the son of Mollywood Super Star Suresh Gopi had made his debut here as an actor and his first film Mudhugauv had hit the screens all over last friday. The film is getting great response from all over and he is getting appreciation from everywhere for his cool performance as the character named Bharath in the film. But it was a role actually made for Aju Varghese, told producer Sandra Thomas to Onlookers Media.

She said that Gokul Suresh had come to this movie replacing Aju Varghese as Aju Varghese was chosen first to play the character named Bharath. It was Aju Varghese who introduced this director Vipin Das to Friday Film House for doing a short film named Unnimoolam. But that time they did not able to produce it as they were busy with their production of Aadu Oru Bheekara Jeeviayanu.

Later, after completing Unnimoolam short film, Vipin again came to meet Sandra Thomas with the recommendation from Aju Varghese. At first Sandra Thomas heard the one line of the story and later Vijay Babu also heard the story and loved it. Aju Varghese’s name come up for the male lead of this film at first. But later they felt that they need a younger actor aged around 22 years to make this character more convincing. We don’t have such young actors who plays lead in the movie here. Gokul Suresh was Sandra’s Facebook friend and they contacted him with this subject. He loved it after hearing it and came to this film replacing Aju Varghese.

Sandra Thomas said that Gokul Suresh had worked so hard for this film as he reduced his weight considerably for making this character perfect.

The personal relationship between Super Star Mohanlal and veteran director Vinayan is not so cool and Vinayan always comes up with something or other against Mohanlal related to various issues. Vinayan is always against the super stars like Mammootty and Mohanlal and when it comes to Mohanlal, Vinayan’s attack becomes hard. But surprisingly, Vinayan had come up with his support to Mohanlal in the election campaign issue which is making news now in media. It may be for the first time that Vinayan is supporting Mohanlal in any issue.

Vinayan said that Salim Kumar’s allegation against Mohanlal is purely biased. What he said was not at all right as Mohanlal has every right to express his political opinion and choose his side when it comes to elections. No one can say that one cannot have political inclinations if he or she is a member of AMMA association. He said that association and politics are two different things.

No one can blame a member of AMMA if he goes for an election campaign. If the members of AMMA can contest in an election without seeking the permission from AMMA or without resigning their membership from AMMA, then how can we blame a member of that association for attending Election Campaign. Vinayan said that Mohanlal did no wrong in this matter as he just expressed his political view or may be his choice as a citizen. If Mohanlal went there to support congress party, Salim Kumar may have remained tight lipped. That is the bias he is showing now when Mohanlal went to wish Ganesh Kumar who represents Left Democratic Front.

Vinayan also opined that the allegation of Jagadeesh against Ganesh Kumar and Mohanlal is not at all right. Jagadeesh said that Ganesh Kumar blackmailed Mohanlal and that is why Mohanlal went to wish him. It is cheap to come forward with such allegations. Mohanlal was the general Secretary of AMMA for years and Jagadeesh was the treasurer. At least Jagadeesh have to remember that before he says things like this.

Around 6 people from Malayalam film industry is contesting the upcoming assembly elections in Kerala and a new controversy had popped up related to it. Once again Mohanlal is victimized by dragging him to controversy. Mohanlal went to Pathanapuram to wish his friend Ganesh Kumar good luck as he is a candidate there representing Left Democratic Front.

But the controversy stirred up when actor Salim Kumar resigned from AMMA because he believes that Mohanlal disobeyed the decision of AMMA when he went to wish Ganesh Kumar in an election campaign. Jagadeesh and Bheeman Raghu also contesting election from the same constituency as of Ganesh Kumar and Salim Kumar says Mohanlal did not do the right thing by going there and supported Ganesh Kumar alone. But in this issue the support for Mohanlal is increasing from film industry.

AMMA president Innocent told that AMMA is not made any decisions that restrict its members from going to election campaigns or choosing their political ideologies. Innocent also said that Mohanlal is clean here as he went to wish a friend of his and his relationship with Ganesh Kumar is well-known to all. AMMA secretary Idavela Babu also said that Mohanlal has all the liberty to support whoever he wants. AMMA did not took any decision that prevents its members from going to election campaigns. Idavela Babu said that Salim Kumar not attended the meeting of AMMA association for almost 4 years and then how he can say that a decision was made there regarding this matter.

Director Kamal, Vinayan etc also supported Mohanlal in this issue as they said that Salim Kumar is purely speaking politics here. There no wrong in what Mohanlal did as he had all the freedom to express his opinion politically. Actors like Mukesh, Nedumudi Venu also supported Mohanlal in this issue as they said that AMMA not made any decision against the rights of its members to choose their political ideologies. They can support whoever they want because it is their right.

Actor and MP Suresh Gopi also said that no one can question Mohanlal’s freedom to express his opinion and his right to support political parties or candidates.

Vineeth Sreenivasan directorial film Jacobinte Swargarajyam, which released on April 8 is all set to become the second blockbuster of Young Star Nivin Pauly this year. The film had got great reviews from all around and the box office returns of the film reflects that great word of mouth. The latest business reports says that the film had grossed around 18.5 crores from Kerala alone.

It had got this gross from its 35 day run here and there is all chance that it will become yet another movie for Nivin Pauly which will find its place in the 20 crore club of Mollywood.
The film had got great figures from all around Kerala. From Calicut alone, it had raked in an amount near 1 crore as it grossed around 96 lakhs from its run there till now. From Ernakulam multiplexes, the film had collected an amount near 2.35 crores from 35 days.

This film has artists like Sreenath Bhasi, Renji Panicker,Sai Kumar, T G Ravi, Dinesh Prabhakar, Aju Varghese, Reeba, Aima etc and everybody got appreciation for their superb show. 24 movie piracy issue: QUBE found out from where the pirated print came out

Suriya’s latest film 24 directed by Vikram Kumar is running successfully all over. But, the pirated print of the film had come to internet sites on the first day itself. That was removed after the complaints from the team of the film to the cyber cell. But some days later, the pirated print came again and this time came in the streets of Bangalore in the form of CDs and DVD’s.

Gjanavel Raja, one who produced this film along with Suriya had started a strike by fasting by demanding action against this issue which is killing cinema industry. The QUBE Digital, satellite partner of the film claims that they found out from where the pirated print come out to the streets of Bangalore.

The print came out was recorded from a theater and QUBE claims that they found from which theater it came out, including the show time. As per their report, the pirated print had come out from the PVR Multiplex from Orion Mall Bangalore. The pirated print was made on May 6 and it was during the 9.45 AM Show that day.

They found out this using the Forensic Water Mark they used in the film. It will not be visible on screen but contains a specific identification code for each and every theater in which the film plays. We can find out the theater and show timings if a print leaks out from there using this method. The Green Studio, the production company saying that the pirated print came out with the help of the theater staff. Because they used a special cable for recording the sound. Green Studio had cancelled the license to show the movie in the screens owned by PVR in Bangalore.
