24 movie in 100 crore club

Suriya’s latest flick 24, a science-fiction fantasy thriller written and directed by Vikram Kumar has entered the 100 crore club of Kollywood in 12 days. The worldwide gross of the film had crossed rupees 100 crores and the 12 day total figure is around 100. 5 crores. The film based on the concept of time travel is released on May 6th and got positive reviews from all around the globe. Samantha and Nithya Menon played the female leads in this movie in which Suriya played 3 different characters including the hero and villain characters.

The film had earned 20 crore+ in its opening day from worldwide and later went forward with good box office run. It had collected around 30 crores from Tamil Nadu and collected more than 25 crores from its Telugu version. The film had done well in overseas market too as it had raked in an amount near 25 crores.

From Kerala alone it collected an amount near 8.5 crores and from Karnataka it got around 5 crores. The rest of India collection is near 7 crore and it had done a great business in the domestic market all together.

The success of this film which made using a budget around 70 crores has given Suriya a sigh of relief as his last few films were failed at box office. Suriya is the one who co-produced this film as well with Gnjanavel Raja.

Prithviraj starrer film James and Alice was released on 5th May and started off with below average reviews. Even though this Sujith Vasudev directorial got some average review later on, the box office seems to be not at all responding very good to this flick. This is the maiden directorial venture of Sujith Vasudev who is one of the most popular cinematographers in Mollywood.

Dr. S Jananrdhanan had written the screenplay of this film and he had earlier directed films like Mahasamudram with Mohanlal and Shahasram with Suresh Gopi in the lead. As per the latest reports that coming in from Trade guides, James and Alice had collected around 4.8 crore from its 10 days of theatrical run here in Kerala.

When we consider the star value of Prithviraj, it is not a great collection even though it did not become a disaster. On its first day it had grossed around 1 crore as per reports. But, the collection dropped down from the next day and there were 3 more films released after that as well. That also affected the box office performance of James and Alice.

But still it is getting an average response from all over and the team behind the film is hoping that the flick will end is run here only after entering in safe zone.

Vysakh says that the teaser will be the character intro of Murugan and the teaser will have a length of 1 minutes 20 seconds. Vysakh said that the teaser will have all elements for the ones who loves Mohanlal. Vysakh also added that in this film you will not see the actor named Mohanlal, but you can only see the character named Murugan. That much perfection has given by him to this character.

Dulquer Salmaan starrer film named Kammatipaadam directed by Rajeev Ravi and written by P Balachandran will hit the screens on May 20. The censoring of the film is over last day and the flick had got Adults Only Certificate from Censor Board, as there are too many scenes in this movie which has violence in it.

The film is an action thriller but said to be made with a realistic approach to the history of goonda gangs in Kochi. Dulquer Salmaan playing the character named Krishnan and Vinayakan playing a character named Gangan, who is the intimate friend of Krishnan.

This film will release in almost 150 screens in Kerala and expected to take very big opening here just like Dulquer’s last film Kali. The teaser and trailer of the film had created waves in social media and the teaser had already crossed 5 lakh views. Trailer also got great reception as had trended in social media on the day of its release.

Mollywood is going to witness a battle between a senior vs junior in Box office on May 20. Evergreen star Jayaram is going to fight it out with new generation star Dulquer Salmaan on this coming Friday. Jayaram starrer Aadu Puliyattam and Dulquer starrer Kammatipaadam is releasing on May 20 and both films are big budget ones. Jayaram’s Aadu Puliyattam seems to be the biggest budget film among these two and it eyeing a fabulous worldwide release and expected to get more than 600 screens in India alone. Aadu Puliyattam will be dubbed and released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi as well.

This flick is directed by Kannan Thamarakkulam and scripted by Dinesh Pallathu and it is a horror film which made in a big canvas. The star cast of this movie includes Remya Krishnan, Ompuri, Sambath, Sheelu Abraham, Ramesh Pisharody, Baby Akshara Kishore, Saju Navodaya, Siddique etc apart from Jayaram. Ratheesh Vega is the music director and Jithu Damodar is the DOP of this film produced by Noushad Alathur and Haseeb Haneef under Grande Film Corporation. It also set a record in its audio rights before its release.

Kammattipadam is also a big film starred by Dulquer Salmaan, Vinayakan, Shine tom Chacko, Amalda, Shaun Romy Anitha, Vinay Fort, P Balachandran, Suraj Venjarammood etc. This is Rajeev Ravi’s 3rd film and will be telling the history of goonda gangs in Kochi. Global United Media produced this film and it also eying a big release in India as Reliance Entertainments reportedly bagged its outside Kerala distribution rights.

John P Varkey and Vinayakan had tuned the music for this film and DOP is Madhu Neelakandan. P Balachandran had scripted this movie along with acting in it.

Suriya starrer 24 conceived by Vikram Kumar is slowly but steadily stepping forward in box office to be a part of the 100 crore club in Kollwood. The film which released on May 6th had took a fantastic opening by collecting more than 60 crores from its first weekend.

Even though the collection dropped down on working days, the positive word of mouth had helped the film to sustain a decent collection from its worldwide market. From America alone, the film had collected more than 10 crore as per reports and the total worldwide figure of this movie is around 90 crore, says the trade guides.

Even though collection is coming only in an average rate, it will cross the 100 crore mark pretty easily within a few days time. This science-fiction film is attracting the audience and got positive response from all over the world. The flick had eventually gave a success to Suriya after a long time. The flick had done exceedingly well in Telengana- Andhrapradesh region and got more than 20 crore from there alone.

From Kerala, it had collected around 8.7 crores from 11 days of its run there and from Chennai city alone it had raked in an amount near 4 crore from 11 days.
