Who will break Loham first day collection record ? Kali or King Liar ?

The summer releases are on its way and it will start from this week release Darwinte Parinamam in which Prithviraj is the male lead. But there is not much hype around the movie even though people have hopes in it due to Prithviraj’s golden run off late. All the hype is around the movies that releasing next week. Kali starring Dulquer Salmaan and Sai Pallavi, directed by Sameer Thahir and King Liar starring Dileep and Madonna Sebastian which is coming from Siddique Lal team. Due to the heavy anticipation level it can take a huge opening at box office and everybody now looking forward to see whether any of these films can break the opening day collection record set by Loham, starred by Mohanlal and directed by Renjith last year.

Loham had released in 141 screens in Kerala and raked in a first day gross above 2.5 crore rupees on its opening day. Mohanlal the biggest crowd puller of Kerala did it for the second time as his Casanova with 2.13 crore was the record holder till then. Then came Charlie last year and it had expected to surpass Loham first day record due to the heavy anticipation level it has. It was released around 120 screens. But only managed to rake in 2.06 crores on its first day and came only at the 3rd place in the list below Loham and Casanovva.

Then everybody expected Nivin Pauly’s film Action Hero Biju to surpass that record. It had released in 131 screens in Kerala. But it only took an opening of 1.59 crore on its first day and not came anyway near Loham. Now, Kali and King Liar, which is planning a big release above 100+ screens and also with great anticipation level is expected to challenge that record set by Mohanlal.

King Liar said to have more chance as Kali is releasing on a Saturday which is happened to be the one that follows Good Saturday. It can affect the collection as per some sources. King Liar is on a Sunday and that too on an Easter day, said to have better chance than Kali to break that record.

The trailer of Darwinte Parinamam was quite attractive for two reasons. One is the way created the trailer which mentions about Vijay’s super hit Kollywood film Pokkiri and tried to introduce the main characters in the story telling it like the plot of Pokkiri. The second reason is that Vijay model get up of Soubin Shahir and that makes people think that Soubin Shahir is playing a Vijay fan in this film. His dress, walking style and mannerisms in the scenes shown in the trailer made people think that.

But the director Jijo Antony told that, in fact Soubin Shahir’s character is not a Vijay fan, but a Mahesh Babu fan, who is the real Pokkiri according to him. Vijay’s Pokkiri film is the remake of a Telugu film starred by Mahesh Babu. Telugu film was a super successful one and when Vijay remade it to Tamil, it was also a success there. Later it was remade to Hindi as well with Salman Khan in the lead. But the fact remains that the Telugu film is the best of the lot. Vijay come up with a style in Pokkiri, which he took from Telugu version done by Mahesh Babu.After the success of the film, he continued with that style and even now he follows that style, mannerisms and get ups.

That had made people think that Soubin’s character in Darwinte Parinamam is a Vijay’s fan. But the fact is that he is playing the fan of Mahesh Babu who really bring that style of Pokkiri before us. Darwinte Parinamam will hit the screens this week and Jijo Antony is very much hopeful about his second film. His first film Konthayum Poonoolum was a box office failure, even though it had got good critics opinion.

Chemban Vinod plays the title role of Darwin and Prithviraj plays the central character named Anil Anto. Prithvi’s August Cinema produced this film and Chandni Sreedharan played the female in this flick. It is a complete entertainer with all elements packed in it.

Thala Ajith beat Mammootty in online polling and won CNN IBN Best South Indian Actor Award 2015 !

For the last 3 months, a polling was going through online and it was for the awards of CNN IBN Indian Film Awards. They had conducted the polls in different sections, and for North India and South India separately. And of course, the major award is for the best actor and it was contested by popular actors from south India like Mammootty, Prithviraj, Dulquer Salmaan from Malayalam, Kamal Haasan, Ajith, Vikram, GV Prakash Kumar, Ramesh and Vignesh from Tamil, Prabhas, Sudeep etc from Telugu as well. And the poll was closed some weeks back and the result has been announced now. It is Thala Ajith who won the poll for the best South Indian actor award beating Malayalam super star Mammootty.

Ajith has won the award for his performance in the Gautham Vasudev directorial film named Yennai Arinthal and he had won almost 47% votes. Mammootty had finished below him by getting almost 43% of votes for his performance in the Salim Ahammad film named Pathemari. Prabhas had won 4% votes for his performance in Bahubali and Prithvi Raj had won 2.27% of votes for Ennu Ninte Moideen.

Earlier Sai Pallavi had won the best female debutant actress from south India for her performance in the film Premam in CNN IBN awards. Mollywood film lovers had tried their maximum to make Mammootty win the online poll by sharing it throughout social Media. Mammootty also lost out in Kerala State Film awards as well this year, even though he was also regarded as a close contestant for the award along with Jayasurya and Prithviraj. But his son Dulquer Salmaan won it this time in Kerala for his performance in the Martin Prakkat directorial film named Charlie.

Dulquer was there in the list of nominees for the CNN IBN film awards for south. His performance in the film OK Kanmani, directed by Mani Ratnam is considered to include him in the nomination list. He had got lots of appreciation from many popular film personalities for his performance in that film.

It seems that, Mohanlal is become the target of some people in our society and his name is dragged on to every issues whether he has anything to do with it or not. Recently we saw the JNU issue and Kalabhavan Mani issue. The blog written by him had landed him in to trouble related to JNU issue. He had attacked by some political leaders and political activists for that. Even after Delhi high court said the same words just like him in this issue, he is not spared.

Then came the Kalabhavan Mani issue in which some accused that he is not posted memoir about Mani in his Facebook page after Mai’s death. Later, Mohanlal came with the reply as well which was a perfect memoir for Mani and in fact sealed the mouth of those who attacked Mohanlal deliberately with foolish arguments. Now, Kalabahavan issue again landed him into trouble. Now, its director Baiju Kottarakkara, who had come against Mohanlal related to this issue.

Few days back, AMMA, ASSOCIATION OF Malayalam movie artists had organized a function at Chalakkudy to mourn Kalabhavan Mani’ death. People like Mammootty, Mohanlal, Vikram, innocent, Kamal, Sibi Malayil etc had took part in that function along with many other artists and technicians. But Vinayan was not there, who had made more number of films with Kalabhavan Mani. When asked about his absence, Vinayan said that he was not invited to the function and it was a super star who played on the back side to not invite him to the function.

Now, Baiju Kottareakkara, the president of Macta Federation, said that it was Mohanlal who said that if Vinayan was there at the function, he won’t attend it. Baiju said it in Ernakulam press club that Mohanlal said this in the presence of a popular singer in Mollywood as well. Baiju Kottarakkara demanded Mohanlal to seek apology for his stand against Vinayan in this issue. But yet there is no clarity regarding this issue as no one really know the truth behind Baiju Kottarakkara’s words.

Trailer music of Dulquer Salmaan starrer Kali movie landed in controversy

The much awaited trailer of Sameer Thahir-Dulquer Salmaan film Kali had released yesterday and got fantastic reception all over social media. It had already got great YouTube views and likes as well beating Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer Darwinte Parinamam trailer views and likes within hours. But now the trailer of Kali had landed in a controversy regarding the background music used in the trailer. It was tuned by none other than Gopi Sunder and the social Media began to troll him saying that the music was copied from an English film named The Man From U.N.C.L.E (2015).

The two songs from the film Kali had already got out and one of them had got good response as well. Harinarayan BK had penned down the lyrics for the songs composed by Gopi Sunder for this film. Gopi Sundar had earlier also accused of copying music from other languages, specially foreign languages. This time he is feeling the heat because the trolls of social media is spreading rapidly.

Kali is scripted by Rajesh Gopinath and DOP was Gireesh Gangadharan. It is made as a Romantic action thriller with family sentiments in it as well as per reports. Sai Pallavi is playing the female lead of the film and it is her second film after the success of her first one named Premam. The film will reach to the screens on March 26 and it is produced by director Sameer Thahir, Shyju Khalid and Ashiq Usman under the banner of Hand Made Films.

Kali, the next week Mollywood release directed by Sameer Thahir and starred by Dulquer Salmaan, had already started breaking records. The trailer of the film had released yesterday and within hours, it had surpassed the trailer views and trailer likes set by Prithviraj’s Darvinte Parinamam trailer, which had released 5 days back. Darvinte Parinamam will release on this coming Friday and it is directed by Jijo Antony. It is also the production venture from Prithviraj’s August Cinemas.

Darvinte Parinamam now has almost 2 lakhs 75 thousand trailer views and near 2800 likes. But it released 5 days back. Kali trailer which released yesterday had break this in hours as Kali trailer now has more than 3 lakh 16 thousand views and more than 6 thousand likes in YouTube. It was Dulquer Salmaan starrer Charlie, which had made the record of most viewed Malayalam cinema trailer and now everybody looking forward to Kali as some believe that Charlie record can be broken by Kali trailer.

Kali trailer is missing its charm because of the mismatched dubbing and voice modulation of Sai Pallavi in addiction to  current rumours about the background score  being copied from the much acclaimed Hollywood movie The man from U.N.C.L.E . However  the popularity of both Dulquer Salmaan and Sai Pallavi had done the trick for Kali and that played a really key role in the reception its trailer had got. Kali was produced by Hand Made Films owned by Sameer Thahir, Shyju Khalid and Ashiq Usman. Their first production venture was Chandrettan Evideya which was directed by Sidharth Bharathan, starred by Dileep.

Darvinte Parinamam has Chandini Sreedharan playing the female lead and Chemban Vinod also playing a great part in this movie. In fact the title character of Darvin is played by him. Kali will hit the screens on March 26 as per reports and Darvinte Parinamam will hit the screens on March 18, as we mentioned above. Anyway the box office battle of this summer season will start from this Friday and Prithviraj, Dulquer Salmaan and Dileep will be the main contestants in this March. Oppam, the upcoming film from Mohanlal-Priyadarshan team had started its filming at Tripunithura, Kochi. The filming started on March 5 and the first schedule will end on March 25. It will have an Ooty and Munnar schedule as per reports. The stills from the shooting spot is already viral in social media and yesterday the first look poster of the film also got out. But there started some trolling as well.

In the first look poster of the film Mohanlal’s character seen as wearing a wrist watch. He is playing a visually challenging character in the film. So the ones who trolling the first look poster asks why he is wearing a watch if he can’t see anything. But the fact is that those who trolls this lacks something called commonsense. Because blind men usually wears watch to know time as they understand time through touching the dial of the watch. Its a special kind of watch made for blind people. It is the only way they can understand time.
