Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming film Theri already began to break records with its teaser release itself. The film directed by Atlee is one of the most awaited film of this year in South India and it will be an April release.

The film expected to break Kollywood’s existing box office records due to the team behind the film and the anticipation level. The teaser of the film had released last night and had got a wonderful reception as expected. It started off by breaking the YouTube view record set by Ajith’s film Vedhalam teaser last year.

Ajith’s flick Vedhalam’s teaser had crossed 50k likes in YouTube in 1 hour and Theri had surpassed it in just 18 minutes. In 7 hours the film said to have crossed 600k views and 1 lakhs + likes in YouTube and that is also a record.

Vijay is playing a cop role in this film named Vijay Kumar IPS and he is sporting 3 getups in this film as well. Samantha and Amy Jackson is the heroines of this film and it is Atlee’s first outing with Vijay. Atlee’s last film Raja Rani was a big success and Vijay’s last one Puli was a big disaster.

Yesterday Mollywood witnessed the big release of Nivin Pauly starrer flick directed by Abrid Shine titled Action Hero Biju. The film had released in almost 150 screens all over Kerala. There was big hope around the film and there was an anticipation that it will break the first day collection record set by Mohanlal- Renjith team’s Loham last year. Loham has got 2.54 from 141 screens all over Kerala on its first day. With 150 screens and great hype, Action Hero Biju expected to break it. But that really not happened as the first day collection of Action Hero biju is way down when compared to Loham. As per the trade guides, the flick had earned around 1.60 crores from its opening day from Kerala. The rest of India release in only made today.

The film is opened with mixed opinion as many people expected it be an action packed cop story but it turned out to be a realistic travel through the life of a police officer named Biju Paulose portrayed by Nivin Pauly. It has been a fresh experience and different attempt. It had come out well as well. But the title and the expectation around the film before the release had given false notions for some and that was resulted in the mixed opinion.

The first day collection dropped a bit due to other reasons as well. Many shows were cancelled in the morning and also many shows were delayed as well. That had affected the collection of the film. But 1.60 cr is not a low collection as an opening above 1.5 crore on first day is really valuable.

Maheshinte Prathikaram Review

Maheshinte Prathikaram is the latest Malayalam release, which is the debut directorial venture of Dileesh Pothen, who is popular as an actor as well. The film had Fahad Fazil in the lead and is produced by popular Mollywood filmmaker Aashiq Abu. The film had become much awaited due to the names associated with it and also due to the success of its trailer and songs which released few weeks back. Fahad Fazil who was looking for a success after some failures had made a strong comeback as an actor through this year’s release Monsoon Mangoes. But still the much-awaited  success at box office deserted him and he made it all right through Maheshinte Prathikaram this time.

The film revolves around the title character played by Fahad Fazil, who is a photographer named Mahesh Bhavana. He is a popular guy in his village. He is wooing a girl named Soumya played by Anusree . While things were going smoothly, he was humiliated by one person during a quarrel in the Junction near his studio. At the same time he suffered a setback in his love affair as well. The film then focuses on the revenge he took upon those who humiliated him publicly and While he was all set for paying back how he met this beautiful girl (Aparna Balamurali) and fell in love with her .Dileesh Pothen had made a very good debut as a director through this film as it really made the audience engaged in experiencing something novel.The way in which he told the story was simple at the same has all the elements in it to make the audience go knee deep into the plot.

Syam Pushkaran who is known for his variety screenplays once again proved that when it comes to novelty in narrating a story he is now one of the masters in Mollywood. The humorous one-liners were received by the audience with great applause. But what supported the screenplay and direction the most, is the stunning visuals given by none other than Shaiju Khalid. It was pretty amazing and the visuals had made the film to stand in another league of technical brilliance for sure. Music by Bijipal was beautiful and the way in which both the music and visuals complemented each other was a treat to watch as well. The background scoring was just fantabulous. Saiju Sreedharan also made his mark with his editing skills.

When it comes to performances of the lead artists in the film, we have to say one thing that, if you want to see the best actor in the current generation of actors in Mollywood, then look at Fahad Fazil. He is that much effortless in his performance as Photographer Mahesh and he just behaved like a perfect actor was supposed to be. Another one which got the applause was Soubin Shahir as Crispin, he was at his hilarious best and the claps he gets each time when he comes on the screen underlines the popularity he has now among the film lovers.

Anusree again proves that she is one of the most talented yet underrated actress in our industry. As Soumya, she just lived and the expression of her at many scenes were priceless. Other actors like Alancier Lay, Dileesh Pothen, Jaffer Idukki etc also done their part to perfection as well. Aparna Balamurali is going to be in the limelight for a long time as it is so obvious in the way she looked, talked, and went emotional.

In total, Maheshinte Prathikaram is a superb entertainer with some great quality performances, direction, screenplay and above all it gives you something really fresh. Dont miss this one at your theaters nearby. Well malayalam cinema is back…

The much awaited Nivin Pauly starrer named Action Hero Biju had released today and this Abrid Shine directorial had started off its run with positive response from all over. Both critics and audience giving thumps of for the film after the first show from today morning. The film is getting mixed response from youngsters because they had expected a mass masala action police story and Action Hero Biju had really ended up as a realistic portrayal of the life of a police officer named Biju Paulose played by Nivin Pauly.

Usually the cop stories we see in Malayalam cinema and in Indian Cinema as a whole more of an entertainer with all mass elements to please the crowd. But this film is a very realistic approach to the personal and official life of police officers and shows us what really going on inside a police station and what are the different situations they had to face while they were on duty. So people who wants to see a pakka commercial action police film will be disappointed after watching the film and those kind of audience will not accept the film as well. But the film is a really fresh experience for those who want to see a different film and a complete different and honest take on police life.

We have never seen such a realistic portrayal of the life of a police man in any language films in India and that needs a special appreciation. And there are some new faces in the film who had performed really well and got the applause of the viewers. The director Abrid Shine needs a special appreciation for that effort he took to find out these new faces and making them act like this.

The film said to have a got a very good initial as well. It had released in 131 centers and around 150 screens as per reports. Most of the shows reported houseful status and expected to get a great first day collection. The first day collection report will come the next day and we will update it once it comes.

Aditya Roy Kapoor said that after watching OK Kanmani, he had become a great fan of Dulquer Salmaan and really wants to meet him personally. Action Hero Biju Review

Action Hero Bjiu, undoubtedly one of the most anticipated movie in recent times here in Mollywood, had arrived today to grace the silver screens of Kerala. The film attracted the attention of the audience due to various reasons. Main one is that this is Young Star Nivin Pauly’s first release after the gigantic success that he got through the film Premam last year. He is having a winning streak now and everybody looks forward to this film to know that whether he will be able to continue his winning streak or not. The other factor is that made the film a much awaited one is the one who directed this film.

Abrid Shine who become one of the favorite film maker of Film Lovers here with his debut film named 1983 had directed this flick. 1983 also had Nivin Pauly in the lead and it had won him the state award for best actor and Abrid Shine also got best debut director award. Another factor also made it an anticipated one and it is the Police character Nivin Pauly plays in it as this is the first time he is playing a cop in his career and many believes that it is a step by Nivin Pauly towards becoming a super star.

The film centers around the title character named Biju Paulose, who is a sub inspector of police, played by Nivin Pauly. The film moves forward with the events happening in the daily life of a police officer named Biju Paulose who is honest and sincere in his service. He is good to common man and shows his bad side to bad people. His official life, romance etc were the main attraction of the plot. Have to say that Action Hero Biju is not made in a way in which usual police stories are made in Mollywood. There is a touch of realism in the making of this film and the character.

Abrid Shine had again succeeded in giving a film that gives us a feel of variety as well as one which entertains us. He had a correct idea about each and every single aspect of the story and narration of the story and that control was evident throughout the film. It had everything in it for fans as well as normal audience. It has the punch f a police story and at the same time the humor flavor that can make you relax while watching the life of a police officer unfolds before you. On performance side Nivin Pauly had showed us that he is not just an actor who plays in safe zone but is the one who has the capability of some heavy characters as well. He had really sizzled as Sub Inspector Biju Paulose. The dialogue delivery and overall attitude of his was goof as the cop and he managed to hold it right till the end.

Other artists like Joju George, Anu Emmanuel, Kalabhavan Prajod, Major Ravi, Saiju Kuruppu, Jude Antony Joseph, Sajan Palluruthy etc also done their part very well. Suraj Venjaranmood’s emotional scenes were too good as well and many newcomers also done well. Jerry Amal Dev’s music was good and he took us back to the golden era of Malayalam music through his tunes. Rajesh Murugeshan had given great background scoring and Alex Pullickal’s DOP was also fantastic as it really gave the feel that the director wanted it to create.

Action hero Biju is a different take on the life of a police officer and its really a refreshing one as well. It depends on how people takes it and that will decide the box office future of the film.
