Karan Johar to remake OK Kanmani in Hindi !

Popular Bollywood director and producer Karan Johar is all set to finance the Hindi remake of Mani Ratnam directorial Tamil film named OK Kanmani. OK Kanmani had Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menon in the lead roles and was a success in Kollywood as well. Now the Hindi remake version is all set to start its filming. Aditya Roy Kapoor and Sradha Kapoor will play the lead roles in the hindi remake version of the film. Karan Johar’s Dharma productions will finance the film. Karan Johar is officially announced the news that he is going to finance the film.

The music of this film will be done by A R Rahman and Gulzar will pen the lyrics for the film. Karan Johan told that he is considering himself very lucky to get associated with a Mani Ratnam film. The film in Hindi will be directed by Shad Ali, who was the disciple and great friend of Mani Ratnam. Shad Ali had come to the film industry by remaking Mani Ratnam’s Tamil film Alaipayuthe to Hindi in the title of Saathiya.

Aadhi and Thara are the character names of Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menon in this film and now those will be played by Adithya Roy Kapoor and Sradha Kapoor. Both were become very popular through the super hit romantic film named Ashiqui and now they are joining again for a film after that. Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menon had got great appreciation for their performance in the Tamil Version of the film and now it’s the turn of Adithya and Sradha to give their best shot at it.

There was reports that Mani Ratnam’s next film also will have Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menon in lead roles. But later Dulquer pulled out of the film due to his busy schedule and Telugu actor Nani replaced him. Tamil actor Karthi will also play a key role in it which said to be a romantic as well as revenge thriller. OK Kanmani had created some controversy as well when Bollywood director Ram Gopal Varma called Mammootty , a Junior artist after seeing his son Dulquer’s performance in the film.

Even Suriya fans ignored a good film of him like Pasanga 2 !

On this December 24, Pasanga 2 was relaesed all over which was directed by national award winning director Pandi Raj and financed by actor Suriya under his production banner of 2D entertainments. Suriya also playing an extended cameo role in the film as well which had children playing the lead roles. Amala Paul also playing an important character in the film.

Pasanga was a highly appreciated and successful film made by Pandi Raj and now Pasanga 2 is also getting great reports. It has been got the highest rating from critics from all over South India. Even from Kerala, the film had got great appreciation. But the truth is a bitter one that it is not at all getting much attention in box office as even Suriya Fans were ignored the film.

Suriya has been going through a bad period with continuous failures and many of his fans clamored that he should do good films which challenges him as an actor. But when he does a film with high quality, even those above mentioned fans ignores it. The film did not made much impact in Kerala box office and in Tamil Nadu too it is getting only average business. As per reports it had earned around 7 crore rupees from its 8 day run in Tamil Nadu and it has to say that it is only an average box office status for film which has Suriya playing a key role in it.

Apart from that it had to face tough competition from Jayaram Ravi starrer flick Bhoolokam which is going well at the big screens of Chennai and Tamil Nadu as a whole. Anyway the film expected to get more business in the coming days as the word of mouth is spreading that it is a must watch film. Suriya’s upcoming film is 24 , which is a science Fiction film directed by Vikram Kumar. The first look posters of the film already got great attention and everyone hopes that it will be a great come back film from Suriya. This one also co-produced by Suriya.

Mammootty’s Tamil film named as Peranbu will start on January 6 !

We have earlier reported that Megastar Mammootty will do a Tamil film this year and it will be directed by director Ram who shot to fame with his acclaimed flick named Thanga Meenkal. As per the latest updates from the team behind the film, the shoot of the flick will start on January 6 at Kodaikkanal. The film is titled as Peranbu and popular south Indian heroine Anjali will play the female lead in this flick opposite Mammootty. Popular music director Yuvan Shankar Raja will tune the music for this film and the other important role in the film to be played by child artist Sadhana.

Mammootty had acted in many Tamil films in his illustrious career and the most popular among them are 1991 Mani Ratnam directorial film Thalapathy in which Super Star Rajinikanth and Mammootty played the lead roles, then a film named Azhakan, Kandu Kondein Kandu Kondein, Makkal Aatchi etc. There are reports came not so long ago that Mammootty may do a Tamil film with Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay and it will be directed by Mohan Raja. But that will only be a 2017 or 2018 project even if the news is true as it is planning as the 61st or 62nd film of Vijay.

Vijay is now doing only his 59th film directed by Atlee titled Theri. His 60th film is said to be directing by Bharathan who had earlier directed Azhakiya Tamil Magan with Vijay in the lead. The Mammootty- Vijay combination will be superb if it happens as Vijay’s combination film with Mohanlal named Jilla was a super success in 2014.

The heroine of the Mammootty-Ram film Anjali become popular through the Tamil film named Angaditheru and later she done some notable films like Engeyum Eppothum in Tamil. She acted in a Malayalam film as well named Payyans starring Jayasurya in the lead. But that was not a success critically and commercially. She had also played a role in the blockbuster Ajith film named Mankatha as well. She had done some item numbers as well in Tamil.

2015 is ending and Mohanlal at the top in star value in Mollywood !

2015 is almost ended and everyone is busy with analyzing the statistics of Mollywood films this year. There are young stars who made terrific hits and stars like Mammootty who had made a good come back to winning ways after being at the bottom of the table in last 4-5 years. But for Mohanlal, 2015 is not a good year at all even though he had two successes this year like Ennum Eppozhum and Loham. Both films had done a business more than 10 crore but received only average reviews from the audience.

When it comes to Mohanlal, everybody is expecting the best. So the height of expectations really pulled some of his films down. But one fact is still remaining that even when he had a bad year, he is still at the top of star rating in Mollywood. In star value Mohanlal is still ruling Malayalam cinema sitting at the top quite comfortably. He getting the biggest remuneration a Malayalam actor can get here. His normal remuneration is around 3 crore rupees and financers are even ready to offer more to get his dates for a film. Because the mere presence of him can make a film profitable financially.

Other big stars here only gets a maximum of 2 crore as remuneration and that’s it for them. In satellite rate as well Mohanlal leading the pack as his every films gets at least 5 crore as satellite even before the release. His film Loham had got rupees 7 crore as satellite right from Asianet and Kairali as they jointly purchased the rights. Channels says that the flop films of Mohanlal gets repeated audience while it is broadcasted in mini screen.

His Ennum Eppozhum and Loham got only average reviews and still done a business above 11 crore rupees. If that report was for any other star here, most probably the film ends up as flops. That is the star power Mohanlal has here in Kerala.

As per reports, the 2016 Vishu season will witness the biggest release Mollywood ever seen superstar Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan will hit the screens that time. As per the latest reports there is all chance that Pulimurugan will come to the screens in 2016 April as theater cards of the film had already came to some of the centers where Pulimurugan expected to release. As per report the film will be the biggest film in Mohanlal’s career till now and will be the biggest release in Mollywood as well. Sources says that it will have a minimum of 200 theaters in Kerala alone and will break all the first day collection records which is existing by a terrific margin as well.

The fans show booking for the film is already started at many places and where ever it had started, the first shows were already sold out. It is for the first time in South India that a film’s first day fans show tickets were sold out 5 months before the release. Only Mohanlal can create such a hype, anticipation and craze over a film in Kerala.

Pulimurugan is directing by Vysakh and the shoot is still on. Mohanlal had given almost 100 days for this film and this is the most number of dates he had given for any film in his career. The film is scripted by Udaya Krishna and the highlight of the film will be the action choreography of India’s best stunt master Peter Hein. Mohanlal already stunned the action director with his breathtaking ability to do stunts and Peter Hein expressed his amazement to leading Malayalam Film Medias as well.

The film have importance to VFX parts as well and the flick has been financed by Tomichan Mulakupadam under the banner of Mulakupadam films. The flick has a lot of popular artists working in it as well along with Mohanlal. Bala, Nobi, Kamalini Mukharjee, Jagapathi Babu, Kishore, Suraj Venjarammoodu, Namitha, Vinu Mohan, Lal, Siddique and many others are part of this film. It will be shot in a realistic way as well as per reports.
