Selvaraghavan’s appreciation for Premam and Nivin Pauly

0

Now, it’s the turn of Tamil filmmaker Selvaraghavan to appreciate the film Premam which had made waves in Kerala and Tamilnadu. In fact the film had become one of the few Malayalam films which had done great in Tamilnadu. In 1990’s, few Mammootty and Mohanlal films had done great in Tamilnadu. Later if we have to say about great business and theater run, only Mohanlal starrer Drishyam had great impact there. Now, Premam has also completed 100 days of its run in Tamilnadu.

As per reports it had helped Nivin Pauly to create a huge fan base there as well along with Telugu industry. The film is all set to be remade to Telugu and Tamil as well. In Telugu, it will be titled as Majnu and will have Naga Chaitanya in the lead role. In Tamil it will be remaking under the production of Dhanush who is also the brother of Selvaraghavan. Vijay Sethupathy is said to playing the lead role in the Tamil version of the film even though official confirmation has not come out yet.

Selvaraghavan tweeted after watching Premam that it was too late to watch the film and he feels sad for missing it earlier. He said that Premam was in fact a beautifully well-made film from Alphonse Putharen. The performance of the artists and also the music section was just superb as well. Selvaraghavan had all praise for Nivin Pauly as well. He says that he was particularly blown over by the superb performance of Nivin Pauly as the male lead. He said thanks to the director Alphonse Putharen for making all of us love again with this beautiful film named Premam.

Selvaraghavan also said that when it comes to the matter of remaking it to any other language, only the man Alphonse Putharen can do full justice to that film with his great skills. He said, same is the case with playing the lead character of George. Only Nivin Pauly’s face comes to his mind and he cannot imagine anyone else for playing that character as good as Nivin Pauly.

This time Kollywood box office will witness a great fight between two super stars there. On November 10, two films will release in Kollywood as Deewali release and they are as you all know, Thoongavanam from Ulaga Nayakan Kamal Haasan and Vedalam from Thala Ajith. Thoongavanam is scripted by Kamal Haasan himself and directed by Rajesh. It is the official Tamil remake of the French thriller Sleepless Night as well. Vedalam is directed by Shiva who had already given a hit to Ajith with the film Veeram which released last year January. A Kamal Haasan- Ajith fight happens at Kollywood box office after 13 years now.

Checkout Vedalam HD Stills Here

It was in 2002 that this fight had happened in Kollywood. In 2002 Kamal Haasan has come with the film Pammal K Sammantham and Ajith came with a film named Red. But Pammal K Sammantham won the battle as Red had eaten dust at box office. Now everybody is looking forward to the Thoongavanam-Vedalam fight. The question is that will Kamal Haasan repeat the success again or will Ajith be the winner this time..? Ajith is a much bigger star now than in 2002 and may be Vedalam is the most awaited one than Thoongavanam. At that time in 2002, Kamal Haasan at his best when it comes to his star power and Ajith was no way near him in that respect. But now things are different and we can expect a very tight fight box office this time.

Vedalam already made waves among fans with its super successful teasers and songs and there are lot of rumors spreading about the film as well. Some says that it is inspired from Mohanlal starrer Malayalam flick Usthad which released in 1999. There are reports that its story leaked through social media platforms as well.

Thoongavanam on the other hand moving quite safely and smoothly. The trailers of the film had got great response as well and the look of Kamal Haasan was appreciated well by his fans. Sruthi Haieasan in the female lead in Vedalam and Trisha is the one in Thoongavanam.

Premam, which is the second highest grosser of all-time in Malayalam cinema history has given Nivin Pauly, the lead star in it, the best time of his life. Because the success of the film in such a huge level not only made him a big star among youngsters in Mollywood but also gave him a huge fan base in Tamil and Telugu film industries as well. Now as per reports Nivin Pauly has a fan base equal to Mohanlal and Mammootty in Tamil and Telugu or may be more than that as youngsters follow him more.

Alphonse Putharen’s first film Neram which also released in Tamil was a success there as well along with its Mollywood success. That really gave Nivin Pauly an identity there. Later when Bangalore Days came it also did very well in Tamil and Telugu box office due to its pan Indian story line and the multi-star cast which included Dulquer Salmaan and Fahad Fazil along with Nivin Pauly. That success made him more popular outside Malayalam film industry. Then came Premam. It was such a big success in Tamil Nadu that it completed 100 days in Tamilnadu and most of the shows were houseful as well. No other Malayalam film other than Drishyam has got such a response there. The songs of the film also became super hits there.

Now Premam is being remade into Telugu and Tamil language. In Telugu it has been titled as Majnu and Naga Chaitanya, the Son of Nagarjuna is playing the lead role in it. Amitabh Bachchan still keeps his co-star Madhu close to his heart

The man was made a mistake by saying Madan instead of Madhu in that post. Then comes the tweet of Amitabh Bachchan correcting the mistake of Moses Saphir as he said that it’s not Madan but Madhu from Kerala. It is quite astonishing that after 46 years of releasing that film he still remember the names of each and every actor who was with him in that movie. That is the way of him to respect all his co-actors.

Amitabh Bachchan never showed any inhibitions in saying what he feels right. That is why he said that his most favorite actor in India is Mohanlal from Malayalam film. Vascodagama Review

0

Vascodagama is the latest Kannada release directed by Madhu Chandra and the lead artists in the film is Kishore, Parvathy Nair, Ashwin, Suchendra Prasad, Sundar etc. It was a film that focuses on the follies that is affecting our education system and it is told in a comic manner as well. They are giving some solutions as well to improve the system with the flavor humor.

The story of the film is almost fully taking place inside a college campus. The film goes in the viewpoint of an average student as how he thinks and cop with our education system. We can say that the solutions they are giving it through the film is somewhat looks like what we saw it in Raj Kumar Hirani’s Bollywood film 3 idiots.

The male lead in the film is playing a lecturer who is very much liberal in his approach to his students as he put forward an idea that we all have to do only what we love to do. And never do anything out of some pressure. In fact it is like he did not much care about teaching and he always hangs out with his students. He drinks and smokes with them and plays cards with them. Even the principal of the college is leading such a low life there and the story takes a turn when the management of the college all set to shut down the college due to this. Then the character Vascodagama tries to find out some solutions to stop that move and turn the things around in a manner favorable to them.

The film at same time carries a serious subject and it is told in a comical way as well. It has been really hilarious at many parts. Kishore in his various getups given a great performance. The music composed by Poorna Chandra Tejaswi was superb and will remain in our heart for long. The film is filled with lot of good moments but while trying to make it too much hilarious it loses some of its serious nature which the chosen subjects demands. Still it is a very good entertainer and have a class of its own when compared to films which came in this same genre.

Director : Madhu Chandra
Release Date : 23/10/2015
Cast : Kishor, Parvathy Nair, Ashwin

Priyadarshan had overcome that hurdle and one become one of the most popular directors in Bollywood. He had delivered back to back hits there and become a sort of minimum guarantee director there. His association with actor Akshay Kumar was sensational there and we can say that it was Priyadarshan who had given a new life to Akshay Kumar with the mega success of Hera Pheri which was the remake of the Malayalam film Ramji Rao Speaking.

Priyadarshan had remade many Malayalam films to Bollywood and make it success there as well. After 5 years that he got another blockbuster through Bhaskar the Rascal directed by Siddique. Nayanthara was the female lead in that movie as well. Siddique had earlier remade his films like Friends and Body Guard in to Tamil and made them super successes there as well. Siddique know the taste of Tamil audience well and that really helped him to deliver success there.

He had already worked with Ilaya Thalapthy Vijay and Suriya in Tamil as Suriya and Vijay acted together in the Tamil version of Friends and Vijay was the hero in the Tamil remake of his Malayalam film Body Guard. The Tamil remake of Body Guard was titled as Kavalan which gave an important success to Vijay who was going through a bad time in box office. After that success Vijay got back to back successes. Dulquer Salmaan’s Charlie will hit the screens on December 11

0

Dulquer Salmaan fans have to wait a little longer to see their favorite star in action. Dulquer Salmaan starrer latest film named Charlie directed by Martin Prakatt is said to be coming to the screens in this November and there were rumors that it will hit the screens in the second week of November. But now the confirmation had come from the team of the film which says that this flick will only hit the screens on the 11th of December this year.

It was really a disappointing news for Dulquar Salman fans as they had not able to see a single film of him from April this year. In April this year his film directed by Mani Ratnam named OK Kanmani had released. But it was a Tamil film. His last Malayalam film had come in March this year named 100 Days of Love directed by Debutant Jenuse Muhammad who is the son of Kamal, the master director Of Mollywood. Unfortunately the film had bombed at box office.

So Charlie will be a sort of comeback film for Dulquer Salmaan. He needs a success badly stay alive in the race of the young stars in which Prithviraj and Nivin Pauly leading now with back to back blockbusters this year. He needs not just a hit but a blockbuster to keep his stardom intact. Even though Mani Ratnam’s Tamil flick OK Kanmani done well in Tamilnadu, it does not made any impact here in Mollywood. In that sense Dulquer Salmaan did not have any success at all this year and Charlie will be a crucial film for him.

The competition will be very tight as Nivin Pauly starrer much awaited flick Action Hero Biju directed by Abrid Shine will also release in the month of December. It will be on either December 18 or December 25th. Anyway it will pose a great challenge for Charlie for sure because Nivin Pauly is going through the best period of his career with success after success. We all are in for a great battle in December for sure between Charlie and Action Hero Biju.

It was Mohanlal starrer film Drishyam directed by Jeethu Joseph, which showed the world that Malayalam cinema also can explore a market outside Kerala and even outside India. Out of Drishyam 66 cr+ theater gross, only 44 crore had come from Kerala. Remaining 22 cr+ came from outside Kerala market which is phenomenal for a Malayalam movie. That is how Drishyam had become the biggest ever success here. Hoping that with the entry of Vendhar Movies, Malayalam cinema will get more screens and more reach outside Kerala as well.
