Ee Thanutha Song From Anarkali
Will Vedalam and Thoongavanam face the same fate of Masss and Puli ?
1 year back when a Tamil film releases here in Kerala it was almost sure that a big collection and a success is guarantee for that film. Even our Malayalam films cannot guarantee that to a producer and distributors. Many people also preferred Tamil films over Malayalam films as well. But now the situation is reversed and Tamil films had almost lost its ground here in Mollywood. All that begins with Shankar film ‘I’ starring Vikram. Even though it had got good collection due to the hype it created, the film had amassed negative word of mouth.

But the real fall started from the release of Suriya starrer film directed by Venkat Prabhu named Masss. Masss was bomber here miserably and that too in front of a Malayalam film starring young actor Nivin Pauly named Premam directed by Alphonse Puthren. It did not ended there with Suriya.
The next one to suffer was Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay who undoubtedly the Tamil star who has the maximum number of fans here. His film named Puli directed by Chimbu Devan came on October 1st and it failed as well in box office with worst mouth publicity. It don’t even get a good initial as well here. Prithviraj starrer film Ennu Ninte Moideen does the trick here this time. The next in the list was again a Vikram starrer flick named 10 Enradhukulla directed by Vijay Milton. It was released on 21st October and it also becomes a flop here and it failed before another Malayalam film Amar Akbar Anthony which is a Multi-starrer. All of these films were flops at Tamilnadu as well for that matter.

Now on this Deewali two Tamil films are coming here. One will be Thala Ajith starrer film Vedhalam and another is Ulaga Nayakan Kamal Haasan film Thoongavanam. Along with those a Malayalam film named Anarkkali starring Prithviraj also releasing. If things go in a method that has happened this year so far, there is a strong chance that these two Kollywood films will eat dust at box office once again before Mollywood films that is coming this Deewali. Will it happen again and will end the hold of Tamil cinema here completely..? It will be answered on Deewali for sure.
Vishwa Hindu Parishat leader called Shahrukh Khan, a Pakistan agent !
A shocking comment made by one of the leaders of the organization called Vishwa Hindu Parishat is the most debated one in India right now. It was against none other than the King of Bollywood, Mr. Sharukh Khan. Shahrukh Khan who had celebrated his 50th birthday two days back was called a Pakistan agent by one of the leaders of Vishwa Hindu Parishat and the one who called him that was Sadhvi Prachi.
She said it as a reply to Shahrukh Khan’s comment about the latest development in our country as many known figures giving back the awards given by government as a protest against government policies that denies freedom of expression and various other things. Shahrukh Khan said that he respects the decision of the ones who had given back their recognitions they got from the government. He said that intolerance was going on a high level in our country and the method they adopted to fight back was respectable.
Shahrukh Khan told it in Twitter town hall which is the debate center of twitter. When he was asked that if he is also planning to give back his Padmasree award to the government, he said that if the need for that comes he will do it as well. But now he don’t think that time had come. Sadhvi Prachi said that Shahrukh Khan must go to Pakistan as he is a Pakistan agent. Earlier Sadhvi Prachi made a comment that Hindu people should stay away from seeing the films of Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan as they tries to spread love jihad through their film. Their films never try to show good culture before children says Sadhvi Prachi.
Anyway the comment made by her got support only from another BJP leader but getting bad response from the public. People already showed their support for Shahrukh Khan in this issue and everybody condemns Sadhvi Prachi’s comment made on Sharukh Khan. In Social Media Platforms too Shahrukh Khan gets maximum support and Sadhvi Prachi is been attacked badly which she deserves of that filthy comment on Shahrukh Khan says the supporters of him.
Ranjith’s Leela will have Biju Menon in the lead !
After so much waiting Ranjith directorail and Unni.R scripted film Leela is starting. But the real surprise of the film is its lead actor. Yes, it will be popular actor Biju Menon who has been chosen by the director and writer of the film to play the lead character of Kuttiyappan. The news, rumors and discussions about the film had started log ago when Ranjith said during an interview that he is going to make the film version of Leela written by Unni.R. The short story written by Unni.R become highly popular due to its content and presentation.
At first there has been reports that Ranjith wanted Mohanlal to play the lead character of Kuttiyappan. But on the contrary Unni.R wanted Mammootty to play the lead. Later the news came that Mammootty has been fixed as the male lead. But it was only a fake news. Then came the report that writer/director and actor Shankar Ramakrishnan is going to play the lead character named Kuttiyappan.
But that too was just ended as a rumor and the project got delayed, Renjith had done some other films in this gap and Unni R also written some other films during this gap. But the project was still alive in their minds and now it seems they are all set to start the flick at the earliest time possible. Biju Menon’s name was never in the picture at first and it had come by surprise for the film lovers. Report says that the team behind the film had approached Ann Augustine to play the female lead but it is not yet confirmed that who will play the female lead.
Biju Meno is a talented actor and he proved his versatility many times as well. His popularity is also at its peak now and this character can make him famous outside Kerala and all around India as well. Biju Menon had delivered one of the biggest blockbusters of Mollywood named Vellimoonga last year which was directed by debutant Jibu Jacob. He is now getting ready for the release of his next film Salt Mango Tree directed by Rajesh Nair and Anarkkali directed by Sachi which has Prithviraj in the lead as well.
Fake political posts spreading in the name of Mohanlal and Sreenivasan !
The election time has come again and the political parties trying their best to defeat the opponents and get power by winning the elections. The elections in one area of Kerala state is already over and on November 5, the election on other parts will take place. So as a part of trying all the means to influence the voters some political parties resort to the method of spreading fake statements in the name of popular and influential film artists and other celebrities. This time the victim of that tactic was Mohanlal and Sreenivasan.
Sreeniavasn already came out hitting against the posts spreading in his name saying that he never said the things quoted in the statement that is spreading in his name. The statement which spreading in the name of Sreenivasan says that the actor is against the communist party of India. The statement says that Sreenivasan had appealed to the voters to not to vote for communist party of India. Vineeth Sreenivasan’s name also included the statement as it is framed like Vineeth saying what Sreenivasan said to him. When a quote spreads in the name of Sreenivasan who had strong political views and had written one of the best political satires of Kerala named Sandhesham, people tend to be influenced by those quotes.
Then came posts in the name of Mohanlal, who is unarguably the most influential individual in Kerala. The posts spreading in the name of his says that Mohanlal said to support Narendra Modi and Bharathiya Janata party to make a change in India. But in fact Mohanlal did not said anything like that at all. It was happened in the name of Mammootty as well, few days back as a post spread carrying the logo of a popular online media that which said that Mammootty appealed the masses to support Narendra Modi.
These posts are quite misleading and may influence people. This is the new technique invented by followers of political parties to invite people’s attention to them and their political views. People who do not have strong political views can be influenced by these posts in the name of their favorite stars.
10th anniversary of Rajamanikyam today and Mammootty fans in a celebration mode
2005, November 3 was a day to remember for Mammootty fans and Malayali film lovers. Because on that a film is released named Rajamanikyam which was directed by a newcomer named Anwar Rasheed. It was scripted by TA Shahid who already given a mega success like Balettan with Mohanlal in the lead in 2003. So there was quite a lot of expectation on the film.
But the film had went beyond expectation and from the very first show, it had become a trendsetter in Mollywood. The 100% positive reviews from all corners made the film the second industrial hit of the 21st century in Mollywood. Till now the highest collected film or the industrial hit in Malayalam was Narasimham starring Mohanlal directed by Shaji Kailas. It had collected 22 crore rupees from theaters. After 5 years, in 2005 Rajamanikyam came and surpassed that record by collecting 23 crore rupees as total gross.
The film gave another reason for Mammootty fans to remember as well. Before that film there was a popular belief that Mammootty cannot do comedy roles as the past history of his comedy roles were not at all good. Critically and commercially many of the comedy films he had done was failures and he was reluctant to do comedy roles as well. But Mammootty’s performance as Bellari Raja who speaks in Trivandrum slang was a revelation and it underlined the fact that Mammootty can do comedy very well if he is provided with the right kind of character that suits to his style of acting. Rajamanikyam was a good example of that. Later we saw many comedy successes of him like Thuruppu Gulan, Mayavi, Chattambi Nadu, Pokkiri Raja, Pranchiyettan etc and most of them are based on slang comedies which was suitable for him more than anyone in our industry.
The flick has been also noted for the debut of Anwar Rasheed who later become one of the most prominent director and producer in Mollywood with continuous successes. Even though the record made by Rajamanikyam was surpassed by Lal Jose directorial multi-Star film Classmates the very next year, film Rajamanikyam, the performance of Mammootty as Bellari Raja and each and every moments in the film remained evergreen in Malayali hearts. We can say thatRajamanikyam is the most accepted Mammootty film in the 21st Century.

After Mohanlal, now it’s Jayaram in trouble with elephant tusk issue !
Years back it was a breaking news when super star Mohanlal’s and mega star Mammootty’s houses were raided by Incom Tax officials and both landed in trouble with various reasons. Mammootty had landed in trouble with some financial issues regarding the tax payment and Mohanlal had landed in trouble regarding the tusks of an elephant which he kept in his house among his antique collections. It was a gift given to him by one of his friends as he is very fond of antique things. Mohanlal had license to keep it as well. But at the time of that raid Mohanlal was not there to provide it as he was busy with the shooting of a film. Later he solved it by providing the license but it was something troubled him a lot that time. Now it’s the turn of actor Jayaram too fall into the same kind of issue.
Jayaram is popular for his love for Elephants and he had one Elephant on his own once. Recently he had wrote a book about his experiences with elephants and Mammootty launched it as well. In that book Jayaram told about his good memories with an elephant named Raveendran and after the death of that elephant, the temple authorities had handed over the tusks of that elephant to Jayaram as he had an emotional attachment to that Elephant. But this revelation landed him in trouble as the central forest department IG had ordered to find out that whether Jayaram had the license to keep Elephant tusks in his hands or not.
The rule is that after the death of an Elephant who is the property of a particular temple, the temple authorities have to give the tusks of the elephant to forest department. So if they give it to Jayaram and made some documents for that, it is illegal says the Heritage Animal Task Force Secretary, Mr. Venkitachalam. It was him who lodged complaint against Jayaram and the IG’s order was came in the light of this complaint. The name of Jayaram’s book is ‘Aal Koottathil Oarana Pokkam’.

The flick was a great success here and the dialogues uttered by Mohanlal has still a lot of followers. There are rumors that the story of the film has been leaked and the leaked story indicates its similarity to Usthad. The teaser of the film also gives the feel that Thala Ajith is in dual role but now it seems that it is not a dual role but the dual identity of the same person. In this flick Ajith is playing a driver whose past haunts him. Lakshmi Menon is playing the sister role of Ajith and Sruthi Haasan is playing the female lead opposite him.
