Anushka Shetty, now the most versatile heroine in south India
Actress Anushka Shetty is undoubtedly the most followed and most popular actress in South India. In star value also she is far far better among other heroines of south Indian film industry. May be she is the only actress in South Indian film industry whom we can call the Lady Super star. In this year alone she proved that she is the most versatile heroine of South Indian film industry and there are 3 different films to prove that as well. They are Bahubali which released in July, Inji Iduppazhaki and Rudrama Devi which is on its way to the silver screens all over in next month or so.
In Bahubali she played an age old character of Deva Sena who is the mother of Sivadu played by Prabhas. She was perfect in that role and was at her best. But more of her character will be seen in the second part of Bahubali which will release next year. The film will have her top action sequences as well along with the younger age of Devasena who is the wife of Amarendra Baahubali.
Rudrama Devi is also a film like Bahubali as it is shot in an epic proportion. She plays the title character in that film of Rudrama Devi and as per reports we are going to witness one of the best ever performance made by an Indian actress in this film which will release on this coming October month. Even super star like Allu Arjun had played a supporting role with Anushka in that film and it is only because they know that as an actress and as a star Anushka is something much higher than them.
After that the much awaited romantic comedy film titled Inji Iduppazhaki aka Size Zero is on its way. The film has Arya along with Anushka in lead roles. In this she had tried a makeover which was really unique as she shad put on a great amount of weight to look like a fatty woman. She had made it perfectly and that’s what her quality is. Never fears images and always tries to make her character perfect. May be we can call her the Miss. Perfectionist among the actresses in South India.
Prithviraj is the reason behind my role in Moideen says Tovino Thomas
Everybody is now busy with praising the film Ennu Ninte Moideen which deserves the applause. Such a wonderful film had come from the efforts of some wonderful artists as well. Every aspects of the film is getting appreciated and specially the performances from the lead artist Prithviraj and Parvathy is getting thunderous appreciation from all over and every single one who saw the film. But there is another one also getting tremendous response for his performance in the film. That is Tovino Thomas who is now regarded as one of the most talented and promising young talent in Mollywood. Tolvino said that Prithvi Raj is the one behind the role he played in the film Ennu Ninte Moideen.
Tovino Thomas said that it was Prithviraj who suggested him to the director RS Vimal to play the character of Appu who has a key role to play in the movie. Appu is a one-side lover of Kanchanamala who loves her a lot and his sacrifice of his love for Moideen and kanchana was one of the best scenes in the film. Tovino’s performance as appu was really stood up to the performance of Prithviraj and Parvathy and now he had become people’s favorite as well. Tovino says that now he is a great fan of Prithviraj.
He mentions RS Vimal and says that thanks for believing in him and gave him that role of Appu. Tovino thanked Parvathy as well and said that if Parvathy was not Kanchanamala then Perumparambil Appu would not have been this better. He said that bala is a good actor and apart from that a very good friend. He don’t forget to praise Jomon T john as well who had given mind blowing visuals to the film. Tovino said that when Jomon was behind the camera it was such a confidence booster for him to stand in front of the camera.

Manju Warrier as ALIIFF brand ambassador for Cinema for women
The lady Superstar of Mollywood, one of the greatest actress Malayalam cinema has ever seen, Manju Warrier has been selected as the brand ambassador for the Cinema for women category in the All Lights India International Film Festival. Cinema for women is one among the many categories included in the film festival which will begin at Cinepolis Centre Square Mall in Kochi on November 15 and will end on November 21.
The category Cinema for women will have films which shows women centric themes and films based on female characters and their life. Films will be handpicked from all regional languages from India. Manju Warrier has been chosen as the brand ambassador because she is the most influential actress in Kerala who alone can carry a film on her shoulder even without the support of a male lead star.
Her comeback film to Malayalam cinema after 14 years was also a women centric film How old are you conceived by Rosshan Andrrews. It was a super success as well. She has made all films of her comeback trail a hit and last one was with the Legend Mohanlal titled as Ennum Eppozhum. So Manju Warrier got unanimously chosen as the face to represent cinema for women category as there is nobody better than her in all sense.
They had already roped in Mohanlal and Kamal Haasan, the greatest actors from Indian film Industry to represent Malayalam cinema and Tamil cinema respectively. Venkitesh is there for Telugu cinema and popular actress Nikki Galrani will be the one who represent the category of cinema for children. Kalki Koechlin, Prasonjith Chatterjee and Subodh Bhave will be also a part of the film festival representing different regions of Indian cinema and different sections in the film festival. The preparations are in full swing for the start of the Asia’s second biggest film festival and now all eyes are on Kochi and ALIIF.
Hope it will lift our regional cinemas to the international level by giving it the ample exposure to attain that. This platform is surely something very big for Indian cinema as a whole without any doubt.
Thommanum Makkalum Actress Laya injured in a car accident
Laya is a popular south Indian actress well known to malayalees as well through films like Thommanum Makkalum, Udayon, Alice in Wonderland etc. She is predominantly seen in more Telugu films and was very popular there. Now a news coming in that she was injured in a Car accident in USA and was admitted to a nearby hospital there. Her friends and family members are there with her in hospital and according to hospital sources she is not carrying any major injuries and hope to recover soon.
She was planning to make a comeback to her acting career this year or the coming year. She had moved to USA after her marriage with Sri Ganesh Gorty who is a doctor. It was in the year 2006 that she got married. They had now two little children as well named Sloka gorty (daughter) and Vachan Gorty (Son). As per the report she was travelling to the city of Los Angeles when the car she was driving got in the accident in which she injured. Her notable films in Telugu are Swayamavaram, Hanuman Junction, Nee Premakai etc and had done many memorable character in all south Indian languages.
She is one of the actress who got the chance to act with all super stars of Malayalam film industry. She had acted with Mammootty in Thommanum makkalum, with Mohanlal in Udayon, with Suresh Gopi in Rashtram and with Jayaram in Alice in wonderland. Even though only Thommanum Makkalum got the success in box office. Her last film was a film named Adda starred by Sushant. Now it seems her comeback plan is spoiled by the accident occurred as it will take sometime for her to become stable after this accident.
She is now 34 years old and more than playing the heroine role she may be eyeing for the chance to play important character in films specially in Telugu where she almost acted around 40 films after making her debut in 1999. She also had received the Nandhi best actress award twice in her career. Let’s pray for her speedy recovery from the injuries and hope to see her on screen again.
I regret for that comment I made against Mohanlal’ father says Sabumon
Sabumon Abdusamad was the hot topic in social media for last few days in Kerala and from one comment he made he became infamous from being famous. Sabumon was famous as a television anchor and even his program named Take it Easy in Mazhvil Manorama Channel is also quite popular. But one comment of him in his Facebook page made everybody just hate him and that protest by people had really made him bow down before the mistake he had done. Now Sabumon had come out through an interview to Manorama online page and said that he is really feeling regret for that comment which he made against Mohanlal and his father.
He also gives an explanation to what really happened that day which lead to his comment and later the protest by people. He had to deactivate his Facebook account as well due to the uncontrollable protest by film lovers and also from the fans of Mohanlal who is undoubtedly the biggest fab force Kerala had ever seen. Sabumon said that it was not a comment made to insult Mohanlal and it was taken out of context. Sabumon said to manorama that he had given reply to someone who is continuously posting the pictures of people with their pet dogs in his status while he was noting his protest in the street dog issue.
Sabumon at first deleted those comment by that stranger. But that man did not seems to stop it and it began to grow as some kind of abusing at last. Sabumon told him many time to stop it but he did not listen. Between that he posted that picture of Mohanlal with his dogs. But Sabumon was too much irritated by that man’s activity and give that comment as a reply out of anger. It was not meant to insult lalettan but was only as a reply to that man who posted it. But things went out of control as well. But he admitted that he made a mistake by mentioning Mohanlal’s father in that comment and he regret it now.
Sabumon said that the attack made by fans on him was really brutal and may be because of that director Sajan K Mathew also opt out from the production venture of his named St.Petersday.
Director Priyanandanan against Kohinoor heroine Aparna Vinod
Asif Ali’s first production venture named Kohinoor directed by Vinay Govind is all set to hit the screens tomorrow and the flick has been making news with its super hit songs composed by Rahul Raj and also with its star cast and all. But along with that the heroine of the film Aprana Vinod is also making news of her own in different ways but somehow it’s all negative ones that affect her personally. By god’s grace it has nothing to do with the film even though the name of the film also dragged with her when people are referring her as Kohinoor heroine.
It was director Priyanandanan who had come out against Aparna Vinod last day after she had made an insulting kind of statement against the film made by Priyanandanan in which she acted first as well. The incident occurred when she participated in the program named comedy super night in Flowers Channel. When she was asked about her film career by host Suraj Venjaranmoodu she told that in fact she had acted in a film before she had done Kohinoor and the release of that film is only known to her and other than her no one knows about the film. She told in a funny way about the film.
It was the much critically acclaimed film directed by Priyanandanan titled as Njan Ninnod Koodeyund. Even though host Suraj Venjaranmoodu tried to make her statement out of controversy by saying she said it like that because Priyanandanan is representative of offbeat films. But Priyanandanan had reacted to it very strongly through his Facebook page.
Priyanandanan told in a sarcastic manner that Aparna Vinod had become a great actress and first of all congrats for her for that achievement. He said that he had worked with many great artists but never felt so much frustrated and difficult to tolerate someone like her. She made it really difficult for everyone in the set with her horrible acting as well as worse behavior. He even asked her to leave the film as well. Still they not insulted her before everyone because they had some decency of their own. He ends his status saying that Aparana began to show her talent and also sarcastically appreciating her for that.
Kanchanamala asked a compensation of 5 crore once says RS Vimal
Ennu Ninte Moideen which is really the dream of director RS Vimal and he has been behind that dream for almost 6-7 years. There are many barriers which rose before him while he was on his way to realize his dream to make the real life love story of Moideen and Kanchanamala into a cinema. At last overcoming all barriers he has succeeded in making and bringing the film to the silver screen. Now he is very happy and relieved that the flick has been getting great applause from the viewers. But incidents like the real life Kanchanamala filed a case against him asking 5 crore as compensation for making her life into a film had really hurt him.
RS Vimal says that he was so close with Kanchanamala since the time when he approached her with the wish to make her life story as a documentary titled Jalam Kond Murivettaval (wounded by water). It was she who agreed to him that if Prithviraj is there to play the character of Moideen then she will be with him to make the life story into a film.
But when the shooting begun someone made her misunderstand him and she is given a wrong impression by someone that the film is not made with real life incidents. So she filed a case against him asking 5 crore as a compensation for filming her life story into a feature film. But the court order came in favor of Vimal. RS Vimal says that now he is not that close with her after that incident and someone close to her told that she liked the film.
He said that they went to the shooting spot each day with lots of uncertainty about how that day would fare for them as there were lots of problems around the film and it was like some people do not want the film to come out. But this success and acceptance that is getting is the reward for all of their hard work and the pain and tears through which they travelled in these 6-7 years.
Lal cares with helping hand once again
Lal cares is the first ever fan based charity foundation in India which entered the Limca Book of World records for the wooden chest they made for the charity programs. Undoubtedly the biggest fan force in South India which is very active in the charity field, Lal cares had attracted many associaations as well as many people from worldwide. Their charity activities are too good and they reaches everywhere possible for them with their helping hand. May it is in Kerala or outside Kerala or in Gulf countries too they are always there for the help of each and every Malayalee. They had done it again recently.
Lal cares as you all know was guided by our own Mohanlal, which is doing activities in his name and on behalf of him had done a wonderful job last day when they amassed 1 lakh rupees for a patient named Rajesh for his dialysis treatment. The man Mohanlal himself given that 1 lakh rupee check to Rajesh and Mohanlal had posted a picture from that function in his facebook page. He said that it is a great initiative from Lal cares and our support will make them go forward like this with more and more charity programs for the needy people.
Really they are making us proud and we all know the person Mohanlal whose kind heart and generous nature. He is doing these kind of charity works via many associations and his fans units for last 30 years and still continuing the good works for the society. There is no wonder why he is awarded with the Mother Teresa award years ago for his great charity activities. We knows only the ones which comes in media.
But there are many activities of this kind he is making without letting it know by public. He does not want the popularity be doing charity but he posted this one in his Facebook because Lal cares is a popular charitable organization now and people have to know about the efforts some people puts in working in it. There are many good hearted people working in this association and we have to give a salute to them for their efforts.
