Theatres avoiding Ain for big films says Sidharth Siva

0

Sidharth Siva who is very popular among the viewers as an actor through various mini screen programmes and as an actor who had done some notable roles in silver screen is also a National award winning director as well. His first film 101 Chodyangal won him a national recognition and later his film Ain also got recognition from the National Award Jury. But the film is not yet released in theaters and Sidharth Siva in his Facebook page posted that his film Ain is coming to you from tomorrow.

But he also said that there is not much theaters for this film as the theaters prefer only big films with lots of stars in it. They don’t bother to screen a national award winning movie which has no big stars in it. He also said in that status that there were people who agreed to help them in crisis but now it seems that they don’t even have the time to help them when the actual time came. But it may not be their fault and it might be their situation as such. Even though he had complaints about all this now he thinks that it will be the time for the audience to judge the film.

Theatres avoiding Ain for big films says Sidharth Siva

The team of Ain made it because of the public who helped us overcome so much problems and now he believes that audience will support this small film. Because they were able to bring the film to this extent of releasing it tomorrow from a lot of troubles which started from the time of its making. So it will surely win the hearts of the viewers as well.

Sidharth Siva said that there is not much publicity was done for the film through any Radio or Television channels, Not much paper advertisements too. But it only had some posters, Facebook friends and whatsapp medium to promote the film and tell everyone that the film will be released before you only through a limited number of screens and that too has limited shows only. They are Trivandrum Nila theater (10 am), Thrissur Sree (2.30 pm) and Kozhikode Kairali (6 pm and 9 pm).

Puli vs Baahubali : Who’s graphics works overtook the other

0

Latest updates on Puli is that it has released its second trailer yesterday. The trailer is receiving mixed response and the factor that is been criticised and pointed out widely is the visual effects that is been used. There are technical responses as well as people who are experienced watching movie’s visual effects works comparing Puli with Hollywood level. There are also people who compare Puli with the visual effects works of Baahubali.

But the fact to be remembered is that Puli’s first trailer which was released earlier is the most liked Indian trailer as of now and as a first attempt the movie has done justice. There are people who technically spoke about the movie pointing out the production works of Puli which is within 8 months and within this 6 months the movie finished its shooting and only 2 months were used for the visual effects works. Some think that this is not the way how the visual effects works that is to be done, they are on the opinion that it needs time and some are appreciating the work that is been done within these 8 months with a budget of 118 crores.

If we consider Baahubali- The Beginning, the movie became a mass when it got released and people watched it at the theatres appreciating it and turning it to be a massive box office success. The movie’s historical importance which was equalled by the performance of the actors received special mentions as well. Baahubali hailed by S S Rajamouli repeated his magic he did in Magadheera, making Baahubali to have that Rajamouli stamp on it and making it to the third highest grossing Indian movie. The movie is still running at the theatres, the first part of the movie is made at a budget of 120 crores and the sequel of the movie is expected to be released in 2016.

If we discuss about Puli helmed by Chimbu Deven, the movie showcases the reality to an extent which marks an above average fantasy thriller conveyed through its trailers. Anyway we feel that comparing to the first official trailer which was been out and was credited as the most liked Indian trailer in Youtube, the second official trailer is much more effective comparing its visuals. Anyway the hype that is been created around the web by the movie’s marketing team is outstanding. Even if the CGI is criticised widely by some specialists in the field and film lovers, the fans has equalled their positive responses with the negative reviews. The movie stars Ilayathalapathy Vijay, Sridevi, Sudeep, Shruti Haasan and Hansika Motwani in the leads and Prabhu playing a prominent role.

Presently, the second trailer has got 43K plus likes within 20 hours. Hope Puli keeps up the momentum at the theatres and give a massive fantasy adventure film India has ever seen. The movie will be released in Tamil,Telugu and Hindi languages worldwide on October 1st. Let’s wait for this ultimate movie which will surely steal the hearts of millions as it is an Ilayathalapathy Vijay flick. It is for sure that even if the movie rises to an average level, the fan base of Vijay will help in grossing some good collections at the Box Office.

From the Malayalam version only Anupama Parameshwaran has been called to play one of the female leads as per reports and so far there are no details about the role she will be playing in the Telugu version. Premam which is still running at the theatres got the second position in the highest grossing Malayalam cinema after Drishyam.

Kohinoor Review

0

Kohinoor, that name is very familiar among all of us as we heard it in our childhood stories as well as read about it in our history books. Kohinoor is the most precious jewel of our country and there are many stories related to it regarding its theft by British and so on. But now for Malayalees there comes another Kohinoor and this time it is a film starring Asif Ali and directed by Vinay Govind. The film gets the attention before the release mainly for the fact that it is the first ever production venture of actor Asif Ali along with two of his friends. He is been producing the film under a new banner named Adam’s world of imagination and Adam is the name of his son. Vinay Govind is noted for his first film Kili Poyi even though it had not made much of an impact in box office at that time.

Kohinoor is set in the background of the period of 1980’s. The major characters in this film is Louis and Aandi Kunju who are great friends and living by making small time fraud activities. Louis who is a big movie buff wants to become like Mohanlal’s popular underworld characters like Sagar Alias Jacky or Vincent Gomas and highly influenced by that type of characters played by super stars like Mohanlal and Mammootty of that time. Then comes a character named Haider into their life from Bombay with a plan and that was really a big time plan for them, something which they never tried and even thought about. Two other guys named Freddy and Nicholas also joins them in another situation.

From there the story kicks starts in a funny and thrilling mood. The characters of Louis, Aandy Kunju, Haider, Freddy and Nicholas are played by Asif Ali, Aju Varghese, Indrajith, Vinay Fort and Chemban Vinod respectively. We have to say that the makers tried to make it an out and out entertainer and Kohinoor has every element to make you entertained. But in the first half the control of the director over the proceedings seemed to be lost somewhere. Vinay Govind tried his best as he can to really produce good entertaining and engaging situations. But it did not happened. Surprisingly the second half turned it all around. The twist and turns made it really interesting and the film went in a brisk pace as well. The climax was also very good with a super twist.

The screenplay by Salil Menon and Rajneet Kamala Shankar was really up to the mark and quite thrilling in the second half specially. The comedy numbers were not good enough in the first half but it went really well in the second half to make you laugh. Both the director and scriptwriter succeeded in setting up that period of 1980’s quite well. But the confusion is that why they chose that period to tell the story. Rahul Raj’s music really went well and the romantic melody starting as “Hemanthamen..” was really a fabulous one and really made everyone nostalgic about the 1980’s and 90’s period. DOP by Pradeesh M Varma also did well to the film and his frames were really instrumental in giving that nostalgic mood to the film.

When it comes to performance everyone done their job with maximum energy. Asif Ali was cool and at many places he really done his best to make us remember about Mohanlal characters in the 80’s. But the stand out performer was Indrajith and he was terrific with his dialogues and screen presence was outstanding. Kohinoor on the whole is a decent thriller which will not make you think that you lost your money. It’s a good timepass film with lots of thrilling moments.

Malayalam month Kanni unlucky for me says Suresh Gopi

0

The action Superstar of Malayalam Cinema Suresh Gopi feels that Malayalam month Kanni is unlucky and inauspicious for him. Because of this unfavourable condition, Suresh Gopi has decided to break his acting for some time. He is presently working with Shaji Kailas project The State. Now the shooting of the movie is been stopped and the team is waiting for the Kanni month to get finished as they could restart the shoot. It is after a long time that Suresh Gopi and Shaji Kailas has reunited after their previous venture The King and the Commissioner. Suresh Gopi has already stated that he won’t be acting during the Kanni month even if the shoot begins and will only join the movie after this month, as per sources.

Anyway the shoot has been stopped for a moment and will begin as soon as the so called unfavourable month goes by. It’s really shocking that a person like him thinks like this, it’s his opinion and the team of the film has accepted it. It’s human thoughts and beliefs that is the driving force. According to Suresh Gopi, this could be the best decision and for others it could feel like Suresh Gopi has blind faith and too religious.

As per the Malayalam Calendar today is only Kanni 8 and there is still 23 days to go to restart the shoot. It is believed that with this movie Shaji Kailas will present us what he is actually and get back his talent to achieve a blockbuster. After some releases Shaji Kailas has been struggling of getting a success badly and now it’s the time that the old blockbuster duo’s to add another successful movie to the list.

Suresh Gopi and Shaji Kailas, the actor- director duo is a very appreciated and discussed association in Mollywood, because of their successful ventures. The movies in which they have worked together are News, Thalasthanam, Ekalavyan, Mafia, Commissioner, Rudraksham, Mahatma, F.I.R, The Tiger, Chinthamani Kolacase, Time and The King and the Commissioner.During the old times,Shaji Kailas + Suresh Gopi equals blockbusters which was considered the success mantra,. Let’s hope for the best as this time Shaji Kailas pulls it off very well through the movie The State, which could be a real booster for this successful director.

Life of Josutty Review

0

At last today one of the most awaited Mollywood films of this year had arrived before the viewers of Kerala. Yes, you guessed right. It is Life of Josutty conceived by Jeethu Joseph who gave us one of the classics of Malayalam cinema history named Drishyam in 2013 which is still the emperor of success in Mollywood history. So the expectation is high when Jeethu Joseph is coming with his next Malayalam film that too teaming up with the popular actor Dileep this time who is also known for his box office power even though recently that dipped a bit. There is another big factor associated with the film is that it is the first ever step of Eros International to Mollywood as they are the financers of this flick.

Life of Joutty as the title suggests tells as the life story of the central character named Josutty played by our popular star Dileep. Jeethu had already told to us that this film has no twist or suspense which his previous two films had and this one only have a life to show before you. The flick offers you the picture of how Josutty’s life goes from his childhood to his 30th year of life and what struggles he have to gone through while he makes his life stable. Josutty have to marry a girl who is a divorcee and go to newzeland for the welfare of his family and from then its a kind of autobiography of him.

The screenplay written by Rajesh Varma is really one of the major highlight of the film as he had really tried to give us something very different. It does not have usual Dileep gimmicks but it shows us the actor in Dileep. Undoubtedly this is one of the career best performance given by this actor and it may welcome some great recognitions on his way as well. Jeethu joseph has once again proved that he is a jack of all trades as he hold each and everyone of the viewer to the seats without the so called twists and turns. The fantasy element in the film is something very unique and Jeethu had handled it very well without going it out of his control.

Film has situational humour which really worked out well and the emotions underlying each situation is portrayed terrifically well. The only negative we can found is the lagging in the second half which is due to an overdose of emotional scenes at some points and also due to the length of the film. Anil Johnsons music was soothing to the ears and Ravi Chandran’s camera work was just stunning to say the very least. All actors including Rachana, Jyothi, Nobi, Suraj, Aqsa Bhatt, Sunil Sugatha, Saju navodaya, Chembil ashokan, Sasi Kalinga, Sudheer Karamana, Krishnan Prabha, Vijaya Kumari done their roles neatly and Hareesh Perady who plays the father role of Dileep was just outstanding and at many places he just outshined everyone.

As the title says this film is depiction of life. Jeethu Joseph this time came with a class entertainer. It may not satisfy those who expect a Drishyam again. But it will make you feel good if you want to see something different from Dileep.

Director : Jeethu Joseph
Release Date : 24/9/2015
Cast : Dileep, Jyothi Krishnan, Rachana, Hareesh Peradi

Pathemari misses a shot at the Oscar nomination

0

Mammootty-Salim Ahamed flick Pathemari missed a chance to be the official Oscar entry of Indian cinema. Pathemari competed till the end with other movies but in the last round Marathi film named Court was selected as the Oscar entry. This is truly a proud moment for Malayalam cinema that through Pathemari the industry has received recognition and achieved to be a part of the selection process of the Academy Award. After Court, it was Pathemari which made the jury impressed and awestricken. The movies which competed in this selection process in the last round were Pathemari, Massan, Margarita with a Straw, Kaakka Muttai and Court. As per sources the Oscar Entry’s Jury member K Madhu, the famous director said that the movie Court was selected as official entry instead of Pathemari was because of the chances Court could have in the Oscars.

For the Jury, Pathemari was shown with English subtitles but it was reported that the movie’s level of entertainment was above that. K Madhu also said that the movie was very well enjoyed and accepted by the Jury members. And he also said that among the 31 movies from India, Pathemari achieved its place to the last five official entry of Indian cinema in the selection process to be nominated. So being there in the selection process in its last round and finishing at the second position is really a great moment for Malayalam Cinema. So the dream of being the official entry can be achieved, if there is a will and may be winning the Academy Award too.

K Madhu revealed about the Jury, he said that there was no issues in the selection of movies at any moment, it was fine at every stage. K Madhu reportedly told that the Jury Chief Amol Palekar, who is an actor and director is a person who has a different outlook about cinema. The jury consisted of 17 members which was headed by Amol Palekar. The Malayalis in the jury were cinematographer Ramachandrababu and Director Dr. Biju.

After Adaminte Makan Abu and Kunjananthante Kada, Salim Ahamed’s latest movie is Pathemari and it is based on the life of an immigrant. The movie has a cast and crew which includes a long list of National Award Winners who has expertise in their terrain. Along with Mammootty, Sreenivasan is also seen in a major role and the female lead is played by Jewel Mary. The story, screenplay and the dialogues were written by Salim Ahamed himself. After Adaminte Makan Abu, this is the second time the duo Salim Kumar and Salim Ahmed has joined. The cinematography is managed by Madhu Ambat and the sound designing is done by Rasool Pookutty. Music is done by Bijibal and the lyrics are written by Rafeeq Ahammed. The film also casts a lot of actors in the supporting casts along with the eminent actors in prominent roles. Hope this movie does the magic at the theatres the way it did to the Jury at the Oscar Entry- Awe-struck.

My post was not against Prithviraj says VT Balram MLA

0

Ennu Ninte Moideen was going great guns in theaters and it also instrumental in bringing out certain discussion regarding the politics of 1960’s as well. It was all started by VT Balram MLA when he posted on his facebook profile about his observations after watching the film. Balram said that there are many political mistakes in the film specially when they set up the political scenario in the 1960’s.

Balram also criticized the characterization of Moideen as he felt that they makers at some places wrongly portrayed Moideen’s social activities and made him a kind of joker. After that the next day an online media reported that Prithviraj had given a reply to Balram about his criticisms on Moideen in a news channel interview and social Media celebrated it as well. But Balram said that first of all his post was not against Prithviraj to expect a reply from him.

VT Balram said that he also saw that channel discussion and he don’t think that Prithviraj’s words in that was a reply for him. Because what Prithviraj said and what the discussion focused is not at about what he said through his post. Then how Prithviraj’s words would become a reply for his post..? Balram says that he has nothing against Prithviraj or that film but said what he saw in that film. As a social animal he had found out some mistakes and he told it in a decent way possible.

Even Prithviraj don’t seemed to be aware of what he said in his Facebook post as well in that discussion. It was all a selfish ploy by some online medias to attract viewers attention to their page and for that they just twisted the news to their own assumption and also they tried to mislead the readers. They deserve only sympathy says VT Balram.

Balram said that his only point is that the film has certain mistakes in its background settings and he had to point out that mistake as he is a politician. The film also said to be the real life story of a man and woman so these mistakes could be avoided if they took care of it.

Mammootty receives international commend

0

Mammootty the Megastar of Malayalam cinema is congratulated by an international organisation. He has been commended for his involvement in the distribution of free medicine for burns. And he is truly a role model that he has been there for the ones who needed help. The international organisation named Burn Survivors Throughout The World added Mammootty’s name in their website (www.burnsurvivorsttw.org) remarking the contributors.

Mammootty was appreciated for his doings as he supplied free medicine and rendered other helps that he could do for this organisation. So he proves that he is not only an acclaimed actor but also an internationally acclaimed humanitarian and a socially committed person. This organisation is a volunteered one for the people suffering from burns all over the world. Mammootty is the director of this ayurvedic centre at Kuttipuram, Padanjali Ayurvedics.

The medicine named Agnijith was developed at this ayurvedic centre and was the medicine that was distributed. And the organisation conveyed their regards and they appreciated Mammootty along with the physician Jyothishkumar telling the medicine was effective. Earlier for the working of this organisation, this medicine was supplied in Egypt. And there are also reports that Mammootty will send another set of medicine valuing 20 Lakhs to America as the second stage. Presently, the organisation is studying whether this medicine could completely remove the burn scars. This is truly a proud moment for Malayalis as being an actor this wonderful personality has took an initiative towards helping others.

Even in his busy schedules, Mammootty is a part of humanitarian acts which has helped the people who have been suffering from burns. This act of Mammookka will be truly an inspiring one for his fans that maybe they will start working as a social worker rather than involving in fanfights. Just like Mohanlal, recently said in his blog imitate great things, great doings, this is what Lalettan meant to say and Mammookka has shown it through an example. Just like these great actors’ social commitment let’s hope the people who love them will also show some commitment towards these type of humanitarian works one day. Help others get helped, we won’t know when we will need help.

Moideen, a character made for Prithviraj only

0

Ennu Ninte Moideen had already become one of the romantic classics of Malayalam cinema history. People are placing the film along with classic Malayalam romantic movies like Nammukku Parkkan Munthiri Thoppukal and Thoovana Thumbikal came from Mohanlal- Padmarajan team in 1980’s. Along with the film the lead pair in it also getting tremendous appreciation from the masses and critics alike. Specially when it comes to the male lead Prithviraj. People hailing him as the next super star of M-town as well as next big thing in acting after Mohanlal and Mammootty.

Moideen is a role that really made for Prithviraj or he made it look like that way with his sterling performance. In Malayalam cinema the first great romantic hero was Prem Nazeer. The Madhu came up with the epic Pareekkutty from the movie Chemmeen. But the hero who really made the Malayali audience fall in love is Mohanlal as he is still the greatest romantic hero in mollywood and even at this age of his no one can express romance as good as he can. There are fans for his romantic films from outside our industry as well.

Many actors here tried to raise to that level by portraying some great romantic roles but all of them just ended up as just good romantic heroes and as you all know there is a great difference between being great and being good. But Prithviraj with his portal of Moideen has surpassed that level of so called ‘Good Romantic Hero’ and now he is one among the best in Malayalam film industry and it is Moideen had helped him to attain that.

Prithviraj had really made the character of Moideen immortal through his fabulous portrayal of him and in every minute expressions he made us feel that it was Moideen not Prithviraj any more. We can’t even imagine any other in place of Moideen other than Prithviraj in that role. The real Kanchanamala told RS Vimal before the start of the film that if Prithviraj agrees to play the character of Moideen then only she will support the cause of making her life story in to a film. That itself says that Moideen is made for Prithviraj and may he is the one who designed by god to play the real life romantic hero named Moideen.
