PC George’s hard take on Premam getting attention in social media

0

If I get the director and producer of Premam in my hand I will beat them to death, this is said by none other than the firebrand politician of Kerala, Mr. P C George MLA. P C George had went all out against Premam in a television channel program which is hosted by actress Annie. P C George said that the film is giving the bad message to society and youngsters are prone to follow such things. The film makers and financers should allow that to happen and they had to take care of what they are making and showing before the society.

PC George said that how could it be a good film when it justifies a student enter in to a love affair with his own teacher. It is not at all our culture where we believes teachers are like God. P C George says that the bad things and events happening in our colleges recently is due to the influence of this film and because of young people try to imitate the things shown in the film in a heroic way. Children also thinks that what they see in this film is heroism and that is what campus life is all about. It will spoil them as well.

PC George also narrated an incident that occurred a week back in his native place and that too in a Church. There was a marriage function going on at the church where some youngsters came wearing the dress in the so called Premam style. They wore Black Shirt, white dhoti and dark cooling glasses. Later they created such a nuisance that the whole marriage function was turned violent and because of them even the people from each families engaged in a fist fight there. Except the bride and bridegroom everyone their got their share of beating on them and hospitalized. PC George says that it has happened because some people got badly influenced by these kind of films.

PC George is not the only one who came out against Premam like this. Earlier there was G venu Gopal and director Kamal had also came out hitting hard at Premam.

Prithvi Raj’s reply to the critics who criticized Ennu Ninte Moideen

0

Ennu Ninte Moideen which released on Saturday is getting thunderous applause from the audience and it has been already hailed one of the romantic classics ever made in Malayalam cinema history. The flick has been getting super rating from the common audience as well as critics and after Drishyam which released in 2013 directed by Jeethu Joseph and starred by Mohanlal, it is Ennu Ninte Moideen now getting 100% unanimous positive reviews from all over.

But still there will be some who criticizes anything and everything they see and Ennu Ninte Moideen is also not spared by them. The famous among that critics who criticized the film is MLA V T Balram as he is not happy with the politics the film deals with and also he accuses that the director and script writer RS Vimal does not took much care while picturizing the social atmosphere in which Moideen and Kanchana lived. There are many other as well who came with the argument that it does not fully gave us the life of Moideen and Kanchanamala. But actor Prithviraj who had played the male lead in this film as Moideen came out with a reply for all those critics in a popular news channel interview.

Prithviraj said that this only a film of 2.47 minutes length and it cannot be able to comprise the lives of two people fully in it. If you had to make the life of Moideen and Kanchanamala fully as a film then it will take more than 3-4 film at least to tell it. In that situation the film maker had to make a choice as to which incidents have to give priority in the film and on to which part of their life the focus must be on while making it a film. And the film before you is a result of that. They only wanted to bring out the immortal love story of Moideen and Kanchanamala before everyone and they succeeded in it. And they never intended to make their full life story in to a film.

Prithviraj said that each incidents shown in the film is actually happened in Moideen’s life and not a tiny bit has been created for cinematic purpose. Even though they made it a bit more dramatic as it is a cinema but never created anything artificially. He also opines that the social situation prevalent during that time is not portrayed wrongly but more than giving focus on that the film gave importance to Moideen and Kanchanamala’s love.

Mammootty and Mohanlal are born for cinema says Dulquer Salmaan

0

Dulquer Salmaan came to Mollywood with the tagline of being the son of Mammootty and he also got a very favorable atmosphere in the industry as well because of that tagline with him. His films got great start at the Box Office and that also owes much to the fan following of his father. But slowly but steadily he began to create his own space in the industry and followers of his own in the industry with his unique style and way of acting specially loved by the younger generation here. Now he has made a key space among the young stars of Mollywood which is still ruled by his father Mammootty and the mighty Mohanlal. They are called the Big M’s of the industry and Dulquer has his observations on both of them.

Dulquer Salmaan says that both his father Mammootty and The Complete actor Mohanlal is just born for cinema. They are born to act in films and contribute to cinema. It is out and out cinema in their blood and they are here at this position presently is because of their utmost commitment and dedication to this art. They are a phenomenon and actors like him and the younger generation as a whole has to learn a lot from them. They have achieved all these with suffering lots of toil and working hard like a horse.

But their unmatchable talent and commitment took them to where they are now and no one even can dream of getting where they are. That is why they are the best even now. Dulquer believes that more than competing with them the younger generation have to try and learn from them and observe them.

Dulquer says that both Mohanlal and Mammootty clearly influenced him as an actor and the love towards acting was always there with him from childhood. Once Mammootty said to a popular media during an interview that Dulquer was influenced by Mohanlal more as an actor than himself. Dulquer later said that his only aim is not to spoil his father’s name and create a space of his own by trying his best to give quality cinema at the theatres who comes to watch his films.

Prithviraj becomes a class act !

0

Prithviraj is becoming or had become a class act in Mollywood now-a-days and at least in the last 5 years he is the actor who had given more number of class films here than any other actor. There are many failures but he never pulled back from doing a good film thinking about its box office possibilities. He had done films that is out of his safe zone and tried to experiment as well. To say honestly most of his experiments were success as well. He had shown the courage which is not shown by any other young actor in Mollywood. Now the time had come in Malayalam that when it comes to acting after Mammootty and Mohanlal its Prithviraj’s name on the lips of film lovers.

Prithviraj had done films with great quality and which is also aesthetically very good. In the last 5 years there are films like Ennu Ninte Moideen, Picket 43, Sapthamashree Thaskaraha, Memories, Mumbai Police, Ayalum Njanum Thammil, Celluloid, Indian Rupee, Urumi, Arjunan Sakshi etc had come from Prithviraj. When we look into these films we can find out that all these films has something fresh in it as well as he had shown the courage to do as different as he could in each film.

He took roles which challenges him as an actor and also films that can represent common people. At the same time he had done films like Mumbai Police which indeed needs a fair amount of courage as well. He never cares for his star image. Prithviraj wants to be a great actor than becoming a great star. The golden run is not only limited to the confines of Malayalam language. He had done this very thing in Tamil and Hindi with projects like Aurangzeb and Kaaviya Thalaivan.

There are many projects coming from his as well which is giving importance to his performance as an actor and also to the issues present in our society. His films like Veettilekkulla Vazhi and Aakashathinte Niram etc also deals with such issues which he want to interfere as a citizen and he thinks that’s his social commitment.

This project titled St. Peter’s Day is the result of the dreams and combined efforts of him and his team. Sajan K Mathew says that these kind of Facebook fights triggered by some will affect people who has nothing to do with it as well and his is the recent example of that. Someone posting that photo of Mohanlal with his dog and Sabumon’s rubbish and filthy comment on that which insulted Mohanlal and his late father had put his dreams in jeopardy who has nothing to do with the issue.

The anger towards Sabumon Abdusamad is raising hell of a lot in online medias. When it comes to the greatness of Mohanlal as an actor and as a person, Sabumon is nothing in front of him and has no right and is not even eligible to say Mohanlal’s name. Then people ask how can he be so irresponsible to insult Mohanlal who is almost like a Demi-God to Malayalees. Anyway that emotion towards Mohanlal also prompted Sajan K Mathew to do this as well.

He said that the recreation of the period of 1960’s was superb and the presence of rain throughout the film made it more romantic. He said that the visual was amazing as it has used the shadow lights and colors to the perfect mix to make the romantic yet painful world of Moideen and Kanchana. He said the director of photography Jomon T John belongs to another league or a much higher level than any of the cinematographers present today in Malayalam cinema.

B Unnikrishnan about Prithviraj-Ennu Ninte Moideen

B Unnikrishnan has also praised every aspect of the film as he said it was a perfect mix of all. Great music and lyrics by Ramesh Narayanan, M Jayachandran, Gopi Sundar and Rafeeq Ahammed. The Art direction and costume designing etc were also great. He congratulated people like Gokul Das and Kumar Edappal as well.

After that he came to the performance of the artists. He said that this film will make you realize that Prithviraj is the best actor in Malayalam among the younger generation of actors and his performance in this film and Kamal’s celluloid is an example of the range of this actor. Parvathy’s portrayal of the character was intense and she had great potential. He also said that Tovino Thomas was a revelation among all. B Unnikrishnan said that this film belongs to R S Vimal who had written and directed this classic.

But his observation on Prithviraj is the highlight here. Ennu Ninte Moideen is politically incorrect says VT Balram MLA

0

RS Vimal directorial film named Ennu ninte Moideen is going great at box office as well as in audience response. The flick has getting unbelievably good word of mouth from the common people as well as from critics who showering praise upon the film’s craft as well as the performance of the artists in it. For every artists in the film it can be said that it is one of the career best performances of them. But V T Balram MLA had a different take on that even though he appreciates the film. V T Blaram MLA says that the film is politically incorrect and it did not do full justice to the character of Moideen in a wider sense.

Balram says that throughout the film they are saying that the story is happening when Indira Gandhi is the Prime Minister of India and there are scenes also in the film which makes it sure. But Balram says that a dialogue in the film says that Kerala is ruling by R Shankar now. But the fact is that when R Shankar was ruling the state the Prime Minister of India was not India Gandhi but her Father Jawaharlal Nehru. Balram also says that throughout the film they are also trying to establish that there was a talk that India is fully in the control of Indira Gandhi. But that much power came to Indhira only in the time of national emergency period which is declared almost 10 year after the story had took place there at mukkam.

Balram also says that Moideen’s father attitude towards Socialists also not portrayed well as congress was not at all against socialism at that period and they accepted it in 1955 itself. Balram also criticized the way in which they had picturized the activities of Moideen in society through his stage performances. Balram said that they had just made Moideen like a joker while they picturized that.

Balram even though said that film is totally good and actors gave their best performances. Even though he mentioned Parvathy, Lena, Sai Kumar, Tolvino etc he did not mentioned Prithvi Raj and that was really strange as Prithvi was at his best in it as well.

Try to imitate great lives of great people not film stars says Mohanlal

0

One of the most recent controversy in Kerala was that young people are imitating the incidents in the film Premam and that was causing many problems specially inside the colleges. Many people came out criticizing the makers of the film as well as the ones who tries to imitate it. There are supporters for both these viewpoints. Now the legendary Mohanlal has come up with an astonishing blog of his discussing the same matter but with greater depth, precision and can be called the best till date in this regard. Mohanlal said that if you want to imitate someone, then imitate the great life and ideals of great people and not to go behind a film star and his/her characters.

Mohanlal said that he is writing about an issue which is very sensitive and there is a chance that his words might get misinterpreted. But as a person who is in this field for 36 years and indirectly or partially responsible for something like this over the years he had to say his view about this tendency. Mohanlal said that Cinema is just a make belief and the characters doing on that silver screen are just to entertain the mass. It has been in such a way from the beginning of cinema.

Once there was people who imitated the style of a particular star of whom he is a fan of. But later that imitation increased to a level in which people tried to imitate the doings of the character in real life as well. Mohanlal says that is not at all a right thing to do. Because they are performing an art on silver screen and it is not for anyone to imitate them. But it’s just for entertainment of the masses. We can respect them as artist and we can learn from their commitment and dedication towards that art but we should not imitate their doings on silver screen.

Mohanlal says that if you want to imitate things then try to imitate great people like Mahatma Gandhi, APJ Abdul Kalam, Bhagat Singh, Abraham Lincoln, Subhash Chandra Bose etc. Get inspiration from their great lives and imitate their great ideals of life and try to be like them. Great lives are the best thing to imitate than any art forms. Respect and appreciate art and artists but only imitate great doings, great ideals and great lives. If you respect an artist then don’t imitate him but only appreciate him.

Mohanlal has hit the bull’s eye with his blog and once again he proved that when it comes to writing about social issues he is one of the best in Kerala right now.
