Mohanlal has been chosen as one of the brand ambassador for ALIIFF

We already informed you about the All Lights India International Film Festival which will start on this November 15 and ends on November 21st and it will take place at Kochi. It will feature films from all regional languages of India and will have many great film workshops with great film personalities and technical experts. Films from all over the world will be screened here and will have different sections of films. In association with Indywood it is all set to promote the regional films in an international platform and thereby help the talents from our country to get an international exposure. There are many categories of competition for the films competing in the film festival as well including the category for short films.

Now the latest news has come in about the event that Padmasree Bharath Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Mohanlal is been selected as the brand ambassador of Malayalam cinema at ALIIFF. Daggubati Venkatesh will be the one for Tollywood and Marathi cinema will be represented by Subodh Bhave. Prasenjit chatterjee, the National Award winner will be the one who represents Bengali cinema at ALIIFF.

ALIIFF will have a thematic showcase named Cinema for Care and Bollywood actress Kalki Koechlin will be the brand ambassador for that one at ALIIFF. Cinema for Care will be there to express the concern for the people with disabilities and also to empower the people with disabilities. UNESCO will be a patron of that category in ALIIFF.

ALIIFF will be one of the biggest and most prestigious film festivals in India and becoming one of the most important of such events in the world itself. With the presence of the above mentioned stars and artists its once again proving that how well they want to promote the Regional Indian cinema whether it is short films or feature films to an international platform and guide the young talents of our country to a level where they can get a bigger exposure and more opportunities. With the association of Indywood they explore new markets for the Indian films in the international level as well.

These are extracts from one of the most widely talked about and appreciated short story in the social media these days; Kadhayillatha Kadhakal. A collection of 20 short stories, the book is written by Jenith Kachappilly a promising young writer and an aspiring film director. The preface of the book is written by the famous writer Unni R.

The name Jenith Kachappilly is familiar to at least some of the active social media users, his status updates and writings have never failed to amaze the audience. Jenith, a former RJ and programme producer with radio mango stepped his foot into movie industry by directing a short film Home. His next attempt was E-Kaalath one of the viral hits during its release days. E-Kaalath stands unique in some other ways too, being the first Malayalam short film to be remade into another language (Telugu) as Half Girl Friend. The title winner in Kappa TV Shoot an Idea Contest season 1, jenith has worked as assistant to directors Mamas and Bijith Bala.

Kadhayillatha Kadhakal is the Jenith’s next venture, who tries to leave his mark in everything that he is into. The author has been successful in presenting before us, a gist of his outlook about life. The stories allow the readers to have a glimpse into the happenings around us from a different point of view. As the notable Writer and Chairman of Kerala Sahithya Academy Shri. Perumbadavam Shreedharan has commented, Jenith who has adopted a unique and innovative style of presentation is amazing the readers with his humorous outlook of even the harsh realities of life. The book is getting good reviews and is gaining new readers through the mouth to mouth publicity of the book lovers in the social media.

With an intention of gaining maximum attention and support from social media users, the official book launch was done online on 9 August 2015 by Writer Director Shri Mamas in Face book. This innovative idea of book release, followed by some of his friends changing their Face book profile picture and cover picture to the promotional posters of the book has created interest among book lovers and is reflecting in the sales too.

As the saying rightly goes brevity is the soul of the wit, the collection of the short stories has encapsulated deep thoughts and insights into 48 pages and will capsize the readers’ mind giving some food for thought. We hope that Kadhayillatha Kadhakal, Jenith’s debut book is just a beginning of the numerous books to come.

But he thinks that this is not the right time to make an onscreen collaboration with his father and he indicates that it will remain a suspense till the news comes out.

Dulquer also said that if his action sequences were good, the credit goes to the fight masters, director and the cameraman who has made him to do such good action scenes. Dulquer says that he loves to do action scenes as it is a thing we have all tried from our childhood watching movies.

Life of Josootty will be a different experience from Dileep says Jeethu Joseph

Jeethu Joseph’s next outing in Mollywood named Life of Josootty with popular actor Dileep in the lead is all set to grace the silver screens on this September 18th and it is said to be the biggest release in Mollywood after the Mohanlal starrer Casanovva which got almost 200 screens in Kerala on its opening day. Life of Josootty said to be releasing in almost 170 theaters in Kerala as it is the grand debut of one of the world’s biggest production and distribution house named Eros International in Malayalam cinema.

The trailer and teaser of the film has arrived and getting great response. There is nothing big in it but it gave the feel that we are in for something very pleasing. The expectation is sky high or may be beyond that because Jeethu’s last film in Malayalam named Drishyam became the biggest ever hit Mollywood has ever seen and still holding to the top position like an emperor of hits. With Mohanlal on his side Jeethu has opened the 50 crore club for Mollywood as well.

So people are expecting another Drishyam like magic from him this time too. But Jeethu joseph said in an interview given to a college magazine named Genesis 1:1 that Life of Josootty will tell you the story of a man’s journey from his 8th year to his 38th year in life. It will have that natural humour which is present in that journey. He said that after watching the film he wants to hear people say that Dileep has given them a different experience than Jeethu gave them a great film.

Even in the trailer and teaser they had made clear that there will not be any twist or any suspense in the film and it will only have life in it. Life of Josootty is Jeethu’s second outing with Dileep after the super hit named My Boss which they did years back. Later Jeethu did movies like Memories, Drishyam and Papanasham which is the Tamil version of Drishyam as well and going great as a director.

Baby Shamili to start off as actress in Malayalam too

Baby Shamili who graced the Mollywood industry with her never-ending sweetness and cuteness is back to Mollywood with her actress avatar. Like her sister, Shamili is also starting her career with none other than Kunchacko Boban, the chocolate hero of Mollywood. The movie is titled as Vallim Thetti Pullim Thetti, directed by Rishi Sivakumar.

Mollywood has seen this child actors to actress revolution from the beginning itself they are Kavya Madhavan, Shalini, Manjima, Sanusha and now on the roll we have Shamili. And to create a hype about the movie the co-stars Kunchacko Boban and Aju Varghese recently posted a poster revealing Shamili’s eyes from the movie and conveyed that this is our actress. Many in social media has already confirmed it to be Shamili. Through this movie debutant director Rishi Sivakumar is also getting launched. Sooraj S Kurup is the Music Director and the Cinematography is handled by Kunjunni S Kumar who is the son of S Kumar, famous Cinematographer. Kunjunni has also worked in Mohanlal’s movie Loham.

In the movie Shamili is portraying the role of Kunchacko Boban’s wife. Since the character is said to be residing from Chennai, Shamili will not be speaking Malayalam in the movie. She is playing the character of arrogant nature and will be presented in a retro style. In 1997 it was Shalini who started off with Aniyathi Pravu opposite Kunchacko Boban and now it’s Shamili’s chance to take off her career in Mollywood with Vallim Thetti Pullim Thetti movie. After her studies in Singapore Shamili has thought of entering the cinema industry. In 2009, she has appeared opposite Siddharth in Oy which was an average success in Telugu. Shamili is also appearing in a flick opposite Dhanush in Tamil as per reports.

Shamili’s notable performances as a child artist were in Anjali and Malootty in which she got the National Award and Tamil Nadu State Award for Best Child Artist for Anjali in 1990 and Kerala State Award for Best Child Artist for Malootty in 1992 respectively. She has been that hearthrob of South Indian movies that Shamili was truly loved as Baby Shamili and her return as an actress is a much awaited news. Hope she marks her place in the industry with her performance in Vallim Thetti Pullim Thetti.

M.Padma Kumar directorial which was written by Suresh Babu titled Kanal completed its filming last month and now is in its post-production stage. The complete actor Mohanlal is doing the lead character in this film and actors like Anoop Menon, Atul Kulkarni and Pratap Pothen are also doing very important characters in this upcoming flick. The film is as of now scheduled to be an October release and some sources says that it will hit the screens on October 23 to be precise.

Now the latest updates about the film says that Mohanlal is doing a character with negative shade in the film. Mohanlal has not done many characters with negative shade in recent years and this one will be something to watch out for. The film tells the story of revenge taken by Mohanlal’s character upon the character played by Anoop Menon who once became the reason for the destruction of his family life.

Mohanlal has always given classic performance while doing negative shade characters and he is a master in it as well. He started his career in Mollywood as villain and later he have given us many heroes with negative shades and made people go crazy over it. He has done it in mass and class style as well. For example in the film Spadikam his character has got a negative shade and he made it mass and class at the same time.

Another epic performance was in the classic film Devasuram where his performance as Mangalassery Neelakandan is still one of the greatest ever performance by an Indian actor. He has also given performances in films like Thazhvaram and Bhramaram which had some negative touches in it and he does it with so much perfection that people will love it more than any other performances. Undoubtedly he is the master of Under-Acting in Indian cinema and when playing the negative type roles he makes use of it brilliantly.

Let’s hope that this one Kanal will also give us a classic Mohanlal role which has its root in negative background and this one will be a super success like Shikkar which was this team of Mohanlal-Padma Kumar-Suresh Babu’s previous outing.

The operation Sulaimani came from the thought of giving food to everyone who are hungry and the thought was taken from the film Usthad Hotel as the character played by Thilakan says about sulaimani and the love which related with it. The aim of hunger-free city was behind the thought and they did their best to make it work as well and received a good success.

The new plan is titled as Savari Giri Giri aim at ensuring safe journey to school children. As per the plan it will focus on the safe journey of students from home to school and then back from school to home safely in private buses. The Private bus association also found it an amicable and feasible method as it is equally favourable to the students as well as the bus operators. The phrase Savari Giri Giri is one of the most popular phrase in Kerala uttered by Mohanlal in a super successful movie directed by Ranjith which was released in 2001. It was from the film Ravana Prabhu and the catchy phrase by Mohanlal was and is still celebrated all over Kerala.

Mohanlal was earlier chosen as the ambassador of Kerala Road Safety Project by the Kerala Government. The Collector announced this project almost a month ago through his facebook page and he also said that this will be a small start just before a big step titled Varavelppu which is to be implemented very soon. The term Varavelppu also happened to be the name of a super successful Mohanlal film.

The reach and impact anything related to Mohanlal directly or indirectly is the one factor related to choosing these titles along with the idea those title conveys. The District Collector N Prashant is reportedly writing a script with Mohanlal in the lead role and it will be directed by the master director IV Sasi on his comeback trail to Mollywood.

Prithviraj is considered as not just an actor who has the skill and temperament to do matured as well as challenging characters but also as a person who can be outspoken and fears nothing to tell the honest words about anything he is asked to. In a recent interview with a popular magazine Prithviraj has opened his mind about various things. He said about the changing cinema culture, the tastes of the viewers and also about what and how he feels about while selecting a film and so on.

When he was asked about the attitude of actors or stars to go behind the formula which gives them consistent success Prithviraj said that once he was also like that and then he learned from his mistakes. He says that he too wants that maximum audience for watching his films. He had done many films like Puthiya Mukham after the success it had received here. But many of them failed to impress the audience and that period was a learning curve for him.

But at a certain point of time he became aware of the fact that his career is coming really under his own control and from that time onwards he decided that he will not do the so called designed projects which is said to be designed for Prithviraj. He made his decision very clear that he will not do a film by hearing the name of a director, a writer or some other master artist behind it. That is a sort of trap that he decided not to fall into in his career and is trying to do that from then on.

Prithvi said that when he went to Bollywood, no one there believed that a film like Mumbai Police was a success here at Mollywood. He got the luck to be a part of the film only because he chose films on his own and always he has an answer to why he chose some films if it was a success or not. There will be an unpredictability in an actor’s career if he resort to such a method of selection of films but that allows him to do different films as well.
