Yesterday after so much waiting and lots of controversies the state film awards for the year 2014 has been declared. But that had started another set of controversies as usual as many people are not at all satisfied with the decisions of the jury. This happens every year, after announcing the awards and the cry against the injustice towards the ones who actually deserves the honors usually happens. But it burns down after sometimes and the same thing repeats the next year and it goes on and on, it’s just a chain reaction.

Yesterday’s declaration of awards also had these sorts of complaints as usual and the main shocker was for the ones who disagreed the award given to Nazriya Nazim for Best Actress. But the cry is all about the best actor award given to Nivin Pauly for the films named 1983 and Bangalore Days when outstanding performances like Mammootty’s Munnariyippu and Jayasurya’s Appothecary was there to compete along with it. Many people or most of the people thinks that Jayasurya deserved the award for Best Actor of 2014 as he had really gave a sterling performance as ‘Subi’ in Appothecary and ‘Ankoor Ravuthar’ in Iyobinte Pusthakam. Some other people is of the opinion that Mammootty should have been the best actor for his performance in the film named Munnariyippu by Venu.

People don’t really know what happened at the award jury while they were screening the films. Now jury members itself told to leading Medias about what was actually happened there while they were selecting the best actor award. According to the jury Members, Mammootty’s performance in Munnariyippu was not as good as Jayasurya’s or Nivin’s. Mammootty was not even considered for the best actor award after the second round. It was Nivin Pauly and Jayasurya had competed in the final round and just before they decided to give Nivin the best actor award that the performance of Sudev Nair in ‘My Life Partner’ came up and it had drawn a great round of applause from every members of the jury. So they decided to give the award to both of them.

In the decision of best actress it was a race between Manju Warrier and Nazriya Nazim and as the jury felt that Nazriya’s character is more lively compared to the character played by Manju Warrier and the cinema looked like made for her only, they decided to give Nazriya the award.

A person like him who is very much dedicated to his senior artists can be very much called he is a devotee and he is an actor who follows Mammookka and Mohanlal in a way that cannot be explained. Through his down to earth behavior which has resulted in the awards turning all his way. Before this award he was accredited by SIIMA Awards for being the Best Actor in Malayalam received from The complete actor, Mohanlal. There he took his blessing by touching his feet and this guy has earned it, there he has the State Best Actor Award, which implies the blessings from his idols /gurus has taken him a long way in the history of Malayalam cinema.

Nivin Pauly surprised after getting unexpected honor

0

This is a season full of surprises for Mollywood and that surprises reflects in the Kerala state film awards as well. Because no one ever thought that Nivin Pauly would become the best actor and Nazriya Nazim will become the Best Actress of the year 2014. Everyone was pinning their hopes on an actor like Jayasurya and Musthafa and fans of Mammootty was pinning their hopes on him as usual. So when the awards got declared the surprise had come out not only to the film lovers but also to the ones who got the award. Best actress Nazriya already said that she was never really expected an award as she was not even mentioned in any media and social networking platforms as a contender for getting this award.

But when it comes to Nivin Pauly there has been a talk among some people that he may become the Dark horse in the race for awards and that is what really happened. Nivin Pauly was adjudged the Best Actor of the year 2014 considering his show of skills in flicks like Bangalore Days which was helmed by the female director Anjali Menon and 1983 which was conceived by the debutant director Abrid Shine. Nivin Pauly said, he was not expecting this award and it came to him really as a surprise. Nivin told media that this award is an inspiration for him to do more and more films which has aesthetic value and which will make our industry proud.

He told that it seems that he is going through a golden patch in his professional life and this award has also came to him as a part of that golden time in his career which is brimming with success after success. Nivin said that in both films he had got very different characters and the credit goes to the directors of those films and he thanked them for giving him the opportunity to play those roles.

The young star is really happy after getting the award and it is his second award in two days time as he had received the Best Actor Award in SIIMA as well last Friday.

Really an unexpected one and dedicates this to Fahad, says Nazriya

0

It was really a surprise not only for Malayalam film lovers but also for Nazriya Nazim as well. When there are lots of reports came out about who will be the Best Actress of 2014, nowhere the name of Nazriya Nazim was mentioned as a contender for this award and names like Manju Warrier, Priyanka and Lena were mentioned for their performances in films like How Old Are You, Alif and Ottal respectively. Popular medias were reporting in that way saying that these 3 are the main competent and most probably Manju Warrier would be the winner as well. But to the surprise of all, Nazriya Nazim was chosen as the Best Actress of the year 2014 for her performances in Jude Antony Joseph directorial Om Shanti Oshana and Anjali menon’s Bangalore Days.

Nazriya Nazim says that it was really an unexpected one and really a surprise for her. She never expected a state award for this. Then, she said that she is dedicating this award to her husband Fahad Fazil as after the marriage with him luck has been coming to her door frequently and he is her lucky charm. Nazriya also said that she did both the films Om Shanti Oshana and Bangalore days with lot of fun and really enjoyed each moment working with the cast and crew of the films. Those characters are close to her heart as well. That could be the reason why the jury felt that she did the role perfectly.

Om Shanti Oshana was a woman centric film which gave most of the importance to the character played by Nazriya making the male lead Nivin being secondary to her. That was a bold attempt but well received by the audience and they really loved the innocent performance of Nazriya which was very natural. The character in Bangalore Days named Divya offered her some more shades to perform as well. It needed her innocent act as well as a matured performance on the course of the storytelling of the film. She did it very convincingly. It was her last film before marriage as well and her husband Fahad was her pair in that flick.

Nazriya also said that she is eyeing to make a comeback but not because of this award but which was planned before that if she gets a good character she will be back to play it.

A well deserved recognition for Anoop Menon in state film awards

0

The state film awards for the year 2014 had brought a well-deserved recognition for one of the finest actors in Mollywood right now. Yes, it is Anoop Menon who won the state award for Best Character Actor for his performances in films like 1983 and Vikramadithyan conceived by the debutant director Abrid Shine and master director Lal Jose respectively.

In 1983 he played the role of a cricket coach who guides the son of the character played by Nivin Pauly. Anoop Menon was very much convincing as the character of that cricket coach and in his each moment in the movie looked so natural and easy. In his dialogue delivery style and subtle expressions he remained as the cricket coach and we can see it in each frames of which he is a part of. His dialogues about Sachin Tendulkar and the way in which he said it became highly popular among the people and social media celebrated it even after one and a half years of its release.

But another great performance came from him last year was in the film Vikramadithyan directed by Lal Jose. He played a character with negative traits in that film. Probably one of the best of his career. The character of Vasudeva Shenoy who is a police officer was brilliantly portrayed by Anoop Menon. In his looks and mannerisms Anoop had transformed himself completely into the character and the reflection of the inner conflicts of that character as a father and as a jealous person was well balanced by the subtle expressions given by Anoop Menon.

His acting seems so effortless and may be that is why people sometimes says that Anoop Menon’s acting makes them remind about Mohanlal, who is the most natural and effortless actor in the history of Indian film industry. That effortlessness is a gift and Anoop had surely got that gift from God.

The characters chosen to give him this award shown much about the versatility this actor possess, as the character from 1983 was one which is positive and one who inspires a child and when it comes to Vikramadithyan it is just the opposite. Characters standing at two ends in its nature and made it look brilliant by one man, that’s Anoop Menon for you – The Best Character Actor 2015
