Mohanlal surprised again with a Jibu Jacob project next
Some days back we gave you the report that the complete actor Mohanlal is all set for some surprising films and we also told that the project which he going to announce after each of his films will quite a surprise for all. Because from now on he only want to do films which have complete script before the shoot and he want to read it fully and if he love it then he will give a direct node to filming. That is exactly what happened today as he announced his next project through his Facebook page.
His next project after Padmakumar directorial Kanal will be with the director Jibu Jacob who shot to fame after the great success of his first film Vellimoonga which was one of the highest grossers of last year. The upcoming project will be financed by Sophia Paul of Weekend Blockbusters who was the co-producer of the Mega blockbuster named Bangalore Days which was a multi-starrer consists of top young actors of our industry. The flick will be scripted by Sindhu Raj who had given us wonderful films such as Puthiya Mukham, Elsamma Enna Aankutty etc which gave actors like Prithvi Raj and Kunchacko boban a break.
The title and other details about the film will be updated soon as Mohanlal is busy with Kanal and most probably this flick will start after the ramzan season. Kanal had one more schedule to complete and that will be shot in Dubai. Sources told us that the story of this flick has been inspired from a short story named ‘Pranayopanishathu’ written by James V j.
Jibu Jacob was a popular cinematographer before he turned director and he really surprised everyone with a huge hit that too with Biju Menon in the lead in his first film itself. Another unique thing about this film is that this will be the association of the three central pillers of the three top grossers of last year and they are Drishyam, Bangalore Days and Vellimoonga respectively. Hope this mega union will be able to create another super success at box office and another memorable one from lalettan as well.

Premam pirated print going viral
The situation is going more and more worse for Premam as the pirated print which shows it is a censor copy going viral all around the state and in social media people even publicity posting the screenshots from the film declaring that they are watching it. We had reported earlier that there are only four sources from which a pirated print bearing the water mark of censor copy can come out. That is from the hands of the financer, editor, director and from the hands of the censor board members to whom the print had been submitted for censoring. Now it is going really viral among youngsters and reports suggests that people are carrying the high quality version of the film even in their mobile phones and spreading it through whatever means available there.
Some days back there was a similar issue happened in Kollywood when the teaser of upcoming Vijay film directed by Chimbudevan titled Puli had leaked a day before the official release of the teaser. They filed a complaint against the leak and within a day’s time Chennai police found out who is behind the crime and arrested him from the Four Frames Studio Chennai. Accused one was a malayalai boy named Mithun who came there for an internship program.
But look at the situation here in Kerala. Producer of the film Premam had filed a complaint in Police and in anti-piracy cell against the coming out of pirated print of his film and requested to take strong action against it. But it has been days after the complaint from the part of the producer and still there is no action from police and no clue they have found about the source from which the pirated print had come out. It has been a really disappointing situation and a situation which is a great threat to our industry as a whole.
The Mollywood film industry is also reacting to this situation strongly as they lend whatever support they can do to prevent this piracy issue which is digging a hole on the ground for our industry. But the law enforcement organization has to lead from the front as they have the power in their hand to handle it. There are some rumours doing its round which says that someone from the film industry itself behind this Premam piracy issue to pull down Nivin pauly from his rising stardom.
Mammootty-Mani Ratnam again to join hands
A really hot news coming in that Mega star Mammootty to join hands with Master craftsman Mani Ratnam again after much appreciated film named Thalapathy which they did together many years ago. Thalapathy has super star Rajinikanth in lead role along with Mammootty and a commercial success as well as critically appreciated movie at that time. The flick Thalapathy had released in the year 1991 and it is after a long gap of 25 years that Mammootty and Mani Ratnam is joining hands if the reports coming in are true. There is no official confirmation about the news as it is just a rumour that doing its round in both Mollywood and Kollywood. Both Mammootty and Mani Ratnam is not yet reacted to this news which is spreading through social media pages and online media pages.
According to the sources who told us this news the shoot of the film may begin in next year July and Mani Ratnam is currently busy with the screen play writing of this movie. The film have technicians who are always with Mani Ratnam in each of his films. The music section will be managed by the music wizard A R Rahman and DOP will be master cinematographer P C Sreeram. A R Rahman is giving music to a Mammootty film after he had done it in the Tamil film named Kandu Kondein Kandu Kondein.
Mani Ratnam’s last release was OK Kanmani starring Dulquer Salmaan who is the son of Mammootty and now he is planning to make a film with the father Mammootty is really a quite interesting one for the film lovers. OK Kanmani had did quite well in Kollywood and received much appreciation as well. The flick has been reportedly going to Bollywood with Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt replacing Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menon.
Mani Ratnam had made films with Mohanlal and Prithviraj as well from Mollywood and many people considers his association with Mohanlal named Iruvar was his career best. Mani Ratnam who is a great admirer of Mohanlal had plans to join again with him but it does not materialized as the actor was busy with his prior commitments. Prithviraj had done the film named Ravan with Mani Ratnam some years back.
Nivin Pauly’s next film be by debutant Althaf
Leading directors and producers of Malayalam film industry is waiting for the dates of young actor Nivin Pauly who is going high after the success of his recent film Premam which gigantic in all sense. After Mohanlal and Mammootty our film makers and producers want to have Nivin Pauly in their film as he is growing popularity and great time is really assuring them of making a successful film. But the luck this time was for a youngster named Althaf who is chosen to direct the next film of Nivin Pauly after he completes the filming of the flic Action Hero Biju helmed by 1983 fame Abrid Shine and the financers of the film is both Nivin Paly and Abrid Shine themselves.
Althaf is also very popular after the release of Premam. But not everyone knows his name but loved his character in the film Premam. Do you remember that tall lean boy who is always there with Mary tackling all those flirts who is coming for Mary. He was the main barrier of all those lovers who want to talk to Mary and his dialogues were quite funny and popular. One of the most popular dialogues of him in the film was “Mary plus two il aanu..” and it has produced quite a laughter in the cinema halls.
Althaf isa native of Aluva and a friend of Nivin pauly as well. He acted in the film because of the friendship between him, Nivin Pauly and Alphonse Puthren. He is also like Alphons puthram making his first film without being an assistant director to anyone. During the shoot of the film Premam he told the story of his film to Nivin and he shows much interest after hearing the story. So he gave the node to make it and also producing the flick.
Many actors from will be a part of this film also and it will be a comedy entertainer aiming family audience. Krishna Shankar is casted with Nivin in this film and other details will be given later. Justin Varghese who was the associate of Biji Pal will compose the music and Mukesh Muraleedharan will be the DOP who was the assistant of Madhu Neelakandan.

Lalisom fund is now for sports scholarship
Lalisom controversy was one of the biggest controversies happened in Kerala this year and the controversy had got great reach only because it had one name in it who unarguably is the most popular Malayali of this century. Its Mohanlal, the god of acting for Malayalees. The controversy had happened in and around national games held in Kerala this year. In the inaugural function of the national games Mohanlal had performed a musical live show at the venue with his own band named Lalism –the Lal effect. It was the first ever performance of the band and unfortunately it terribly went wrong much to the bad luck of Mohanlal and everybody went all out against him with their criticismz.
Mohanal did not demand any remuneration for performing there and he performed there for free of cost. But government had given him an amount close to 2 crores for the cost of organizing the program and also for giving remuneration for the singers coming from other states to perform at the function with the band. But when criticisms pour in everybody just blamed Mohanlal alone for what happened there.
But Mohanlal had rised above all won the hearts of even the critics of him by giving back all that money from his own pocket to the government saying that the criticisms really made him sad as he did all that with utmost sincerity and honesty. The lack of time to prepare for the function as he had requested by the government to organize the program at the very last minute made it went worse and he tried his best to save it from ruining. But still he had to suffer all the criticism.
Government was not ready to accept that money back from Mohanlal as first because they believed with assurance that it was not at all Mohanlal’s fault and he not at all accepted any money as his remuneration for the program. But Mohanlal stayed strong in his decision and at last government had to accept it.
Now reports says that the money given by Mohanlal will be used for a sports scholarship as suggested by Mohanlal himself and Government is also ready to do it after a meeting regarding this matter. Many people had trolled Mohanlal for this controversy and now he proving to them all that he is a man of utmost sincerity and dignity and will rise above all with his great attitude and broad mind.
