First arrest in Premam piracy issue

After so much cry about police not taking any action against the Premam piracy issue an arrest was made by police at last. But the irony is that it was not Kerala police and not from Kerala as well. It was in Australia and the arrest was made by the anti- piracy cell there. The arrested person is but a Malayali from Pala, Kottayam, who is working as an engineer at Melbourne Australia. The arrested person downloaded Premam from the internet and got arrested by the anti-piracy cell there by the instruction from here. According to the anti-piracy laws in Australia the arrested person has to pay a fine of 20000 dollars for his crime.

But the disappointing thing is that still no arrest was made in Kerala as here the print is spreading more and more. Police and anti-piracy cell of Kerala still a failure in finding out from where this print comes out which bears the water mark of a censor copy. Coming out of a censor copy is most serious in the case of piracy and still there is no action taken or still no findings regarding the issue.

Arresting the people who downloads it does not solve the matter at all as the one who uploaded it without anyone’s knowledge and reach is the most dangerous one as he can do the same to anybody and to any film. Arresting of one person does not help the cause because the print is spreading from hand to hand through DVD or Pen drives and also through bluetooth devices. Tracking each and every one who see the film is close to impossible. But tracking the ones who is uploading it to many websites can be traceable and following that link can be a method to track down the root of the issue.

Our law enforcement bodies have to be more active in this case as piracy is almost killing an entire industry and it is just destroying all the efforts made by a group of people for a creative output. It affects their career and lives as well. The piracy has very much affected the collections of Premam and it is going down day by day as well.

Protest from animal lovers lead by Ranjini Haridas against killing of dogs

The issue regarding the killing of street dogs are getting hotter and hotter day by day now. In kerala there were many incidents reported which involves street dogs attacked many people and some of them were still in hospital seriously injured. People are coming out with petitions to local bodies as well many government bodies and demanding of killing of street dogs which are dangerous for the society as many of that wandering dogs are infected with rabbis virus. Those dogs will be source of spreading of the rabbis disease and they want quick action from government against this situation.

Recently Menaka Gandhi expressed her anger and concern over killing of street dogs in the name of removing dogs with rabbies infection. Last day at Kakkanaadu a meeting was organized to discuss about the street dog nuisance. Presidents from different local bodies are present there along with the animal lovers lead by popular Television anchor Ranjini Haridas. While the discussion was going on there a protest took place from animal lovers who came on to the stage and grabbed the mike and announced their protest against the issue.

The sudden provocation came from a doctor when he indicated that dogs have to killed which found out with rabbis infection and he also mentioned that if a Dog was found out with the rabbis infection then we have to kill almost every street dog in that particular area as there is a great chance of spreading of that disease exists. But this made the animal lovers angry and they rushed to the stage saying that it will be wrong to kill every dog if one dog found infected and even animal has their right to live in the society.

When Ranjini and other came on stage and grabbed mike to give went to their protest the presidents of local bodies including panchayathu presidents walked out from the discussion saying that they are not there to see any kind of drama from some stars or something like that. They said that everybody has the responsibility to observe certain kind of rules and regulations and also manners while having a discussion on a topic which involves representative from people.

Sai Pallavi is the most popular female artist now in Mollywood thanks to her character in the blockbuster Premam and her character named Malar has become that much popular that even the success of the film owes much to the popularity her character had got. She had got lots of admirers among youngsters and everyone is really impressed with her cute and innocent look and also with her natural acting while portraying the character of the tamilian teacher named Malar. Even Nivin Pauly and other actors in that film does not get that much attention from the audience compared to Malar aka Sai Pallavi.

Everybody then went on with the discussion about which will be her next film and what will be her role like that. She even got letters from her fans saying that they not want to see her in other films as thery want to see her only as Malar and they were so crazy about that character of her. Even she had said that she is unsure about doing another film as she had done Premam because of the great support of Alphonse Puthren and she don’t even know that she can do justice to another character in future.

But suddenly a news came in that Sai Pallavi will be seen with Asif ali next. The report suggested that she will be paired opposite Asif Ali in the upcoming film named IDI: Inspector Dawood Ibhrahim which will be conceived by Sajid Yahiya and Arous Irfan and the duo also penned the screenplay of the film as well. After hearing the news her fans were eagerly waiting to know what will be her character will be in this upcoming film.

But to the surprise of all Sai Pallavi herself said that the news coming in has no truth in it. Sai Pallavi posted in her Facebook page that even Asif Ali and Sajid Yahiya will laugh after hearing this news of she being a part of their project as it has no authenticity at all. She said that she is still in the hangover of the success of Premam and needs more time to think about her future projects.

Mammootty’s Acha Dhin to grace silver screens on Ramzan

Mega star Mammootty seems to be back on winning ways after some terrible years of failures and bad luck. Mammootty had begun this year with a moderate success named Fireman which was conceived by Deepu Karunakaran. It has got positive reviews mostly and ended up as a profitable venture for the financer Milan Jaleel of Galaxy films. Next release he had in this year was Siddique directorial film named Bhaskar The Rascal and it was the genuine big success that Mammootty was looking for. Bhaskar the rascal released on the Vishu day this year was become the first blockbuster of Mammootty in last five years and to be precise it is the first mega success for him after the Vysakh directorial Multi starrer named Pokkiri Raja which hit the screens in 2010.

Acha Dhin will be his first release after he got the big success and it will an important release for the Mega star for sure to stay there in the winning track. This flick has been directed by G Marthandan whose debut film was Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus released in 2013 which also had Mega star Mammootty in the lead. The film has got good business as well and that itself raising expectations about this upcoming film as well.

The film tells about the life of man named Durga Prasad who is a native of Jharkhand. But he living in Kerala for the past 20 years and he know Malayalam very well. He is living here with his family and his wife’s name is Sheetal played by Manasi Sharma who is a Punjabi model. Report says that the movie will be of a thriller genre and the first teaser of the flick had already released. The teaser has got warm welcome from the fans of Mammootty and film lovers.

Scripted by Vijeesh A C Acha Dhin is financed by George and Pradeep Nair. Music for this flicj has been composed by Biji Pal and the lyricist is Santhosh Varma. Renji panicker, Sudheer Karamana, Maniyan Pillai Raju, Saju Navodaya, Kishore, Padmaraj Ratheesh, Kunjan etc also playing key roles in this film and it is all set to grace the silver screens of Mollywood on July 18th as a Ramzan release.

With the recent successes Nivin Pauly had become the center of attraction in Mollywood and most probably the most valuable young actor in Mollywood is this 31 year old actor. He has surpassed his contemporaries like Dulquer Salmaan, Fahad Fazil and even his seniors like Prithviraj and Jayasurya in terms of current star value. But the worst part of this success is unnecessary comparison will sprout up from here and there involving him which may end up in making haters for him. That was what really happened here as well.

At first Nivin Nivin has been compared to Mohanlal by some of his fans and it had really made people to turn against him saying that he cant even come near Mohanlal in any manner, be it is acting skills or the star power. Mohanlal fans reacted to it very strongly and at last Nivin Pauly himself came out and said that this was unnecessary comparisons and stupid one too as he can’t even imagine in his wildest dreams to come near even to the shadow Of the legend named Mohanlal even if he does 100 films in the future.

But then another comparison came and it was between him and Prithviraj. In Ivide both Nivin Pauly and Prithviraj had acted together and many people is of the opinion that Nivin Pauly was no way near Prithviraj in acting skills and it was very evident in the film as well. The scene become more serious when another issue sprout up which said that director Shyama Prasad who is the director of Ivide said to have told to a popular film media that Nivin Pauly does not have the range of Prithviraj.

To all this Nivin Pauly answers that he is pretty sure about the fact that Prithviraj is a way better actor than him. Nivin said that he is a great admirer of Prithviraj as an actor and his style and sound modulations while delivering dialogues was impeccable. He had learned a lot from Prithviraj while working in Ivide. Nivin said that if Shyamaprasad had said what he said to have told then he will take it as a positive criticism and try to improve himself in the coming future.

Mollywood is getting ready for the Ramzan fight in box office

Mollywood is all set for the big Ramzan release season and it will be a tough competition for all the films which is going to hit the screens from July third week. The previous season for Mollywood was the summer vacation season and it had bought a great run for Mollywood box office with as many 5 super hit films in which one has become one of the all-time blockbusters. Ennum eppozhum starred Mohanlal, Chandrettan Evideya starring Dileep are the hits of the season and Bhaskar The Rascal starred Mammootty was the mega hit. Nivin Pauly’s Oru Vadakkan Selfie and Premam becomes the Blockbusters of the season as well.

Now the Ramzan releases gearing up for the release and this time the biggest crowd puller of Mollywood Mohanlal’s film and the young sensation Nivin Pauly’s films are absent from the Ramzan race. But we have Mega star Mammootty, Prithviraj, Suresh Gopi, Unni Mukundan, Kunchacko Boban etc are coming this time for the big fight at box office. Dileep’s fil also said to be on this season but it was not yet declared whether it will come at ramzan or not.

Mammootty’s film is Acha Din directed by G.Marthandan after his debut film Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus which also had Mammootty in the lead. Another big film is by Lijo Jose Pellissery starring Prithviraj, Indrajith, Asif Ali, Isha Shrvani, Chemban Vinod, Arya and Sunny Wayne and the name of the flick is Double Barrel.

Unni Mukundan is coming up with a film titled KL 10 Pathu, directed by debutant Muhsin Parari which was financed by LJ films. Kunchacko Boban-Biju Menon team uniting once again for Sugeeth’s Madura Naranga which will be one of the main attractions of this season.

Dileep starrer Love 24×7 may come this season which is directed by debutant director Sreebala k menon. Action king Suresh Gopi this time coming with a horror thriller named Rudra Simhasanam which was written by Sunil Parameshwaran after Anantha Bhadram.

This time Ramzan season is quite big for Mollywood as it has almost half a dozen release and the success rate also have to be big. Otherwise it may well be pave way for another crisis in the industry just before onam season.

OK Kanmani was the recent success in Kollywood directed by none other than Mani Ratnam. Mollywood young star Dulquer Salmaan and another Mollywood actress Nithya Menon were the leading pair of the film and both got great appreciation for their performance in the film as well. Dulquer Salmaan had got some special appreciation even from Amitab Bachchan and some appreciation for him had become some kind of controversy as well.

The appreciation for him from the Bollywood’s master director Ram Gopal Varma was the reason for controversy as he said that Dulquer’s father Mammootty who is the mega star in Mollywood have to learn from his own to act naturally and Ram Gopal Varma went to the extent of calling him a junior artist when compared to his son. That created a controversy as the fans of Mammootty and many others from Mollywood reacted so rudely against the comments made by Ram Gopal Varma.

Beside all these controversies the film got a satisfying success even though it was not a big or grand success. But critically it has become well acclaimed with a financial success made it the talk of the town for some weeks. Now reports are coming through many entertainment online websites that the film is going to be remade in Bollywood and the lead pair of the film will be young Bollywood star Varun Dhawan and Bollywood’s latest heartthrob Alia Bhatt.  Even though it was not officially declared the sources are confirming it.

The Hindi version will not be directing by Mani Ratnam. It will be conceived by Shad Ali who was the disciple and friend of Mani Ratnam. The talks between Mani Ratnam and Shad Ali seems to be over and both of them had reportedly agreed upon the casting of Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt.

Earlier Alia Bhatt was approached to do the female lead in the Tamil version of OK Kanmani but she refused to accept the offer. Later they went to Nithya Menon and she had given a terrific performance. Now after the success of the Tamil version it is reported that Alia is expressed her willingness to act in the Bollywood remake of the film.
