In a recent Interview with a Tamil media Nithya Menon said that Mohanlal her most favorite actor and she told as an answer to the question of who is her favorite actor by the interviewer.

Nithya Menon is now going great guns in south Indian film industry as she is giving great successful films and performances in every south Indian languages and the latest being OK kanmami and for her performance in this film she is getting tremendous amount of appreciation from people like Mani Ratnam, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Suriya etc. Common audience also giving her great feedback some people compares her with Jyothika in kollywood. She is been now considered as one of the most beautiful and talented actress in south Indian film industry and the lucky stars are smiling at Nithya now.

Dulquer Salmaan is on cloud nine now as he is getting terrific appreciation for his performance in the latest kollywood release OK Kanmani helmed by the master director of Indian cinema Mani Ratnam and in the world premiere of the film in Dubai Mani Ratnam told to the media who came for the press meet that Dulquer Salmaan is far better than his father Mammootty in acting skills and also he is very different from his father.

Social media not took it greatly as many feels that it is not at all right to compare Dulquer Salmaan with a legend like Mammootty in acting and people saying that Mani Ratnam had lost his mind with overjoy after the success of the film. Anyway Dulquer Salmaan had got a great compliment that way from Mani Ratnam and it no ends there.

After watching the film director and writer Gautham Vasudev Menon also appreciated Dulquer with great words as he said that Dulquer’s acting was easy and simple and he is also in very much of control and superbly dashing. Gautham Menon even said that Dulquer Salmaan in the best actor in town right now. Gautham Menon had words appreciation for Nithya Menon too as her said that she just amazed him with her arresting performance and he said that the frames lives longer after we see it on screen.

Actor Suriya also appreciated Dulquer after watching the film as Suriya said that he just loved the film and Dulquer’s acting. Dulquer Salmaan thanked him by saying that the appreciation was great for him and means a lot to a newcomer like him. Gautham Menon in his Facebook status told  that the film’s technical brilliance was awesome specially the soundtrack of the film and also the visuals by P C Sreeram was stunning to say the least. In his status he said that Mani Ratnam was given a trendsetter again with this film as he feels that he should write a romantic film as well after watching OK Kanmani.

Now Dulquer Salmaan is the talk in town and OK Kanmani is getting the much needed boost from its very first show all around hoping that it will continue for long enough.

Mega star Mammootty is feeling a sigh of relief now after his Vishu release named Bhaskar The Rascal had opened to good response from audience as well as in box office. Even though his last few films done some business at box office that was not really enough to get over from the string of failures he had been going through from the last part of 2010. In fact great opening and good mouth publicity never came together for his films in these 4-5 years.

If the film had a great opening the mouth publicity will be negative which make it a failure and if the mouth publicity is good the film’s opening as well as the collections showing not much of an impact totally. But now in the case of bhaskar it has got above average mouth publicity and a good beginning at box office together and it is a very good sign for him.

Mammootty said to the people of Kerala through the medias that the success of the film gave him that much happiness that he can’t express that in just a mere sentence showing happiness.  Mammootty told that many people said to him that Bhaskar The Rascal is like a Vishu gift of Mammootty to mollywood film lovers. But Mammootty says that it is not that way and he said that the success people gave to this film is a kind of Vishu gift film lovers given to him. He also said that people who love good films and people who take good films in their heart gave this sweet memory and gift for him and he thanks each and every one of the mollywood film lovers who appreciated the film and made it a success of this year.

The Summer vacation and Vishu season had really changed not just the luck of Mammootty, but also the luck of Mollywood as well as Bhaskar is now the 5th film released in one moth and out of which 3 films including Mohanlal’s Ennum Eppozhum, Mammootty’s Bhaskar The Rascal and Nivin Pauly’s Oru Vadakkan Selfie become profitable. March 27 released films Oru Vadakkan Selfie and Ennum Eppozhum is on the way to Mega Success and Vishu film Bhaskar as of now going to super hit status.

Mega star Mammootty is doing family oriented and action films one after another such as Rajadhiraja by Ajay Vasudev, Varsham by Renjith Shanker, Fireman by Deepu Karunakaran, Bhasakar The Rascal by Siddique, Acha Din by Marthandan, Pathemary by Salim Ahammad etc. Now it’s the time for a change thinks the mega star and in an upcoming film directed by a newcomer Mammootty will play a romantic hero.

The name of the film will be White and the debutant director will be Uday Ananthan. It will be his first mainstream film debut as he had done one of the short films of the anthology film named Kerala Cafe some years back. And the name of his short film in that anthology was Mrithyumjayam.  In this film Mammootty will play the role of a mid -aged man who falls in love with a 25 year old girl. The female lead of the film is not yet decided and the main place where the film will be shot is London.

Uday ananthan, Praveen Balakrishnan and Nandini valsan together had written the screenplay of the film and the dialogues for this film is written by Bipin Chandran. Veteran music director Ouseppachan will compose the music for this film and the film will be financed by famous production controller Dixon Poduthas. They crew has planned to start the film in the last week of August as of now and the title White also not a confirmed one as it may change in the coming days.

Mammootty is not so popular for doing romantic characters and people have a belief that Mammootty can’t have the skill to do a romantic character. The earlier films in which he tried romance have also not done well at box office and that had strengthen the above mentioned believes of the people. And now it is a big decision by Mammootty to try it out again and take up the challenge to go against the odds. He is a man who always stood up to the challenges and he has the caliber to overcome it.

Mammootty is a man who always believes in the abilities of newcomers and reaped gold with them several times in box office. Let us hope that in this film too he will reap gold with the newcomer and with the new character.

Director Siddique’s latest film Bhasakar The Rascal which released on 15th April 2015, on the Vishu day of this year is getting good response from the audience and now the latest update is about the film is that it will be remade to Bollywood in the near future. And about this news it was Director Siddique himself said this in an interview recently that he want to remake it to Hindi and producers were came from there with an intention to remake this film.

2 years back siddique said that he had the plans to remake his films Chronic Bachelor and Ladies and Gentleman to Hindi and now bhaskar the rascal also come to that list of Siddique. It will be almost sure that his next Hindi film after the super success of Body Guard will be the remake of any of the above mentioned films. Bhaskar the rascal is a film which had all the elements of entertainment and in Bollywood’s wide canvas it will be more colourful and better if it goes there.

Siddique also said that it was a real challenge for him to make script for Mammootty as he is one of the best actors in Mollywood and also their previous associations were still ruling the minds of the audience. So if he have to do a film with Mammootty, the character must be as strong as their earlier characters or may be people expecting a lot more than that. He had thought about many characters first and at last landed on the story of Bhaskar which will have all the elements for the fans of Mammootty and also allow him to enact his strong points. Siddique said that at first the title of the flick was The Rascal and later they changed it to Bhaskar The Rascal which sound more apt as per the plot evolves.

He said that he had tried his best not to repeat the track of his earlier films here in Bhaskar and it is very difficult to bring that kind of a humour track in Bhaskar’s story. But the film has humour that comes from the innocence of the character of Bhaskar. Siddigue also said that the presence of Janardhanan in his films is a great blessing to him and Nayanthara came into this film as part of his friendship with her as well.

Now its been more than 3 weeks after the release of Mohanlal and Manju warrier starrer film Ennum Eppozhum which was helmed by the veteran director Sathyan Anthikkad and the film has attained the status of a super hit much to the delight of the followers of the above mentioned artists and also to Mollywood film lovers who really anticipated for a long period to see a pure and simple family film.

According to the official box office reports, this film had collected rupees 9.25 crores in 20 days from Kerala alone and had completed 6700 shows as well. The film had got great response at overseas market as well with great returns from UAE, USA,UK and Australia etc. That collection is not available as of now and including that collection it is almost sure that the film grossed more than 11 crores in just 20 days of its theater run.

After the release of Ennum Eppozhum there are many big films like Dileep starrer Maryada Raman, Mammootty film Bhaskar The Rascal and big Tamil releases like Karthi’s Komban and Mani Ratnam- Dulquer team’s OK Kanmani got released here in Kerala. But still Ennum Eppozhum is Running in 50+ theatres and have 150+ shows daily in Kerala. This Film still gets houseful shows in many centers even after completing 3 weeks and despite many other releases. This film had become the number one choice for the families this season and that is the main reason behind the success of this simple film.

The two main factors behind the success of this film is the fabulous performance of Mohanlal whose expressions went beyond the imagination of the spectators and the second factor is the trust our family audience had on Sathyan Anthikkad. These are the two main reasons why the flick has become such a great success even after getting Mixed opinion from the opening day youth audience. A flick gets long run and success in box office only with the support of the family audience who comes in big numbers and here also the rush of family audience specially the rush from the part of ladies audience made this film a great hit.

Prithviraj- Asif Ali combo again

Young star Prithviraj and rising star Asif Ali is coming again to rock on screens in mollywood. Before this Prithviraj and Asif Ali had acted together in last year’s onam winner Sapthamasree Thaskaraha directed by Anil Radhakrishna Menon and the film was produced by Prithviraj. As the film had got commercial success others also think about their combination as they had worked out great chemistry on screen. They also shared the screen space together in the coming film Double Barrel and also in Amal Neerad’s film Bachelor Party .Now their Fourth film is coming up which will be directed by a newcomer named Jis joy. And the team behind the film have not yet disclosed the title of the film and the screen writing of the film is doing by Vijeesh.

This one will be a romantic film and the main location of this romantic tale will be Mahe. And about the cast of the film, along with Prithviraj and Asif ali, artists like Anoop Menon, Joy Mathew and Sreenivasan also will play key roles in the film and south Indian popular actress Swathy Reddy will be the heroine of this flick. And the male lead Prithviraj will be playing the role of a tourist guide who knows several languages even though he had studied only up to 7th standard. The character Asif Ali plays will be a close associate of Prithviraj’s character.

Prithviraj is now waiting for the release of his films like Ivide by Shyama Prasad in which another young actor Nivin Pauly also plays an important role, Ennu Ninte Moideen”, which is at post production stage. He has doing the Sachi directorial debut Anarkkali and may begin Nadirsha’s debut film as a director titled Amar Akbar Antony which will have Jayasurya and Indrajith as well as co-stars. So this film may begin only after those.

Vijeesh had written films like Emmanuel for Lal Jose- Mammootty team and  Acha Din for Mammootty-Marthandan team which is filming currently. Among these films Emmanuel was a critical and commercial success and he will try to repeat that success again this time with a great star cast of Prithviraj and Asif Ali. Bhaskar The Rascal 2 Days Collection

Mammootty’s Vishu release film which had released on the Vishu day of this year has got great opening at box office as expected by the industry. This flick is helmed by director Siddique and film features artists like Nayanthara who is one of the most popular actress in south India, popular villain J D Chakravarthy, veteran actor Jananrdhanan, Harisree Ashokan, Kalbhavan Shajon, Saju Navodaya, Rajiv Pillai, Master Sanoop, Baby Anikha, Isha Talwar, Abu Salim and also lots of actors from mini screen. Deepak Dev had composed the songs for this Siddique film and it was through a Siddique film named Chronic Bachelor that he made his mark in the industry as well.

The collection report which was not an official one and it says that the film had earned rupees 3.10 core from two days of its run and it had many houseful shows in the first two days owing to the holidays and also to the festival of Vishu and the collection was steady in first two days. And other reports says that the film had earned rupees 5.6 crore as satellite right and the satellite right was brought by Surya TV.

The movie is a family film which tells the story in a humorous way and intended to be a festival celebration by its crew and Bhaskar had got by far the best opening day collection when we consider the other Vishu season film collections. Now we have to wait if the film sustains its steady rate of collection in the coming days and end up as a hit or not as the support of the family audience will start to count from the coming days.

The other films which came before Vishu such as Mohanlal’s sathyan anthikkad directorial flick Ennum Eppozhum and Nivin Pauly’s Prejith directorial flick Oru Vadakkan Selfie had already secured super hit status at box office with total gross reached close to 10 crore rupees from 17 days and they also reached close to 7000 shoes in Kerala alone. And if Bhasakr too does the same this Vishu season will be one of the best seasons for mollywood to remember forever. There are many releases to hit the screens in the coming days and many of them are much awaited films and mollywood hoping for a great rise from ashes this year.

OK Kanmani Review

OK Kanmani, The much awaited kollywood flick of this year directed by Mani Ratnam and starred by Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menon had hit the screen today all over. The film has a great crew including the music maestro A R Rahman who composed the songs and P C Sreeram who cranked the camera for this film. If you ask us to say about the film in a single sentence we will say it is a decent film and a one-time watchable flick for the youth or romantic film lovers.

The plot of the film revolves around Aadhi and Thaara who is he representatives of our modern free thinking young generation. Both are living in the city of Mumbai where they meet and become friends. As they both share common ideas and think like the same they decides to live together but without the formality of a marriage. But later their view about life began to change as something begins to change between them. Then the film gives you the answer of will they get married or not and how they solve the problems which had arisen between them.

The film was an ok one if you watch it without the burden of expectation that Mani Ratnam’s great earlier films gave you over these years. Writing was good but not great. It is good in the sense that it had brilliantly given space to characters played by Prakashraj and Leela Samason named Ganapathy and Bhavani respectively and connected it well with the story of Aadhi and Thaara. But the writing failed to keep up the pace of the film which lagged at many parts. The background scoring by A R Rahman was also not up to the expected level as it sometimes gave the feel of lost in Synchronization.

And about the performance we can say that our lead payer had did a good job as they both essayed their character in the best way possible and their chemistry had worked out very well. Dulquer and Nithya really gave youthful energy which needed for the characters. Prakashraj and Leela samason also done their part to perfection and DOP PC Sreeram was really captured the frame with all its beauty. A R Rahman’s songs were good and totally the technical side and the performance really gave a boost to the film. But if we consider the pre-release expectation and hype it was not that OK and ended as a passable film which will not disappoint you and also not satisfy you fully.
