Check out the thrilling trailer of The Last Two Days!

‘The Last Two Days’ is an upcoming Malayalam film starring Deepak Parambol as the lead. Santhosh Lakshman is directing the film, which promises to be an investigative-thriller. It is scheduled for streaming on Neestream on May 27. Meanwhile, the makers have released the trailer online.

As per the description given, the plot goes like this — Two months have passed since the three youngsters have gone missing. One of whom is a designated candidate in the upcoming election. Circle Inspector Srikanth Sharma aided by constable Aby Mathew is in a last-ditch effort to solve the mystery. Last two days of suspense and surprise awaits them.

Director Santhosh Lakshman has penned the film’s screenplay along with Navaneeth Reghu. While Deepak Parambol plays the role of CI Srikanth Sharma, Nandan Unni seems to be essaying the part of constable Aby Mathew. The cast includes Major Ravi, Aditi Ravi, Abu Valayamkulam, Dharamajan Bolgatty, Vineeth Mohan, Surjith, Harikrishnan, Shyambavi Suresh, Devangana and Nimesh Thanoor.

‘The Last Two Days’ is produced by Suresh Narayan. Faisal Ali is the DOP and background score is by Arun Raj. Sejo John and Arun Raj are handling the background score.

The dubbed versions of South Indian films have great popularity in YouTube among the North Indian audience. Malayalam films like ‘The Great Father’, ‘Masterpiece’ etc have registered millions of views in the platform. More recently, the Tovino Thomas starrer ‘Forensic’ got dubbed and released similarly. Within one week of uploading, the film has clocked a whopping 3 crore views. The numbers are only expected to go in the coming days.

The Hindi version was also premiered in Zee Cinema and according to the ratings published by BARC India, it held the second position in the program charts of National Channels this week. Akhil Paul, who jointly directed the film with Anas Khan, shared his excitement in seeing the Hindi version getting such great response. His Facebook post reads,

Extremely happy to see these two screens in the same week..!!!

The Forensic – The Movie Hindi Dubbed version topping the Program charts of National Channels at No. 2 position this week, in the ratings published by BARC India !

‘Forensic’, which got released in February, 2020 had emerged as a box office hit. It is a crime-investigative thriller centred around a series of abduction and killing of girl children. Tovino essayed the lead role of a medico legal advisor while Mamta Mohandas essayed another prominent character of an IPS officer who heads the investigation.

It is worth a mention here that the Hindi remake rights of ‘Forensic’ has already been bagged by Mansi Bagla of Mini Films. Vikrant Massey will be seen playing the lead role. More details regarding the project are awaited.

10 more days of shoot left for Mammootty in Bheeshma Parvam

Mammootty was shooting for the Amal Neerad directorial ‘Bheeshma Parvam’ when some of the crew members turned Covid positive. Soon after that, the second wave of pandemic worsened and triggered a rapid surge in cases across the country. Shoot has currently been put on hold due to the lockdown. It is learnt that Mammootty still has around 10 days of shoot left in the film.

‘Bheeshma Parvam’ marks Mammootty’s reunion with Amal Neerad 14 long years after ‘Big B’. Newcomer Devadath Shaji has scripted the film along with Amal Neerad. It is said to be a gangster drama in which Mammootty plays a larger-than-life character. The cast also includes Soubin Shahir, Shine Tom Chacko, Sreenath Bhasi, Nadiya Moidu, ‘Rangasthalam’ fame Anasuya, Maala Parvathy and Lena.

Anend C Chandran of ‘Neram’ and ‘Premam’ fame is the cinematographer and music is by Sushin Shyam. Amal Neerad is producing the film under his banner, Amal Neerad Productions.

Jyothika to play Prabhas’ sister in Salaar

There is a buzz going around that Jyothika is a part of Prabhas’ upcoming film ‘Salaar’. Directed by KGF fame Prashanth Neel, it is an action entertainer made on a huge scale. As per reports, Jyothika will be seen as Prabhas’ sister in the film. The makers are yet to confirm this officially. ‘Salaar’ already has Kannada actor Madhu Guruswamy as the antagonist and Shruthi Haasan as the female lead. She is said to be playing the role of a journalist in it.

‘Salaar’ is a pan-Indian film that is being made on a huge canvas. As the film comes with the tagline, ‘The most violent men.. called one man.. the most violent’, it is quite evident that ‘Salaar’ will be a full-on action packed entertainer.

On the technical front, director Prashanth Neel has retained almost the same core team from ‘KGF’. Ravi Basrur is composing the music while Bhuvan Gowda is the cinematographer. Hombale Films is producing the film, which is scheduled to hit screens worldwide on April 14, 2022.

Health Minister Veena George thanks Mohanlal for donating medical infrastructure worth Rs 1.50 crore

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal’s Viswasanthi Foundation has executed a Rs 1.50 crore project arranging critical infrastructure support to the healthcare system. The contribution was made in association with EY Global Delivery Services Careers and UST.

The State’s recently sworn-in Health Minister Veena George has expressed her gratitude to Mohanlal for his kind gesture. The actor had also called her in the morning to congratulate and wish her luck in the new endeavour.

The contributions include over 200 beds with oxygen support, 10 ICU beds with ventilator systems and portable X-ray machines to various hospitals in Kerala. Viswasanthi is also providing support for the installation of Oxygen Pipeline to two wards and Triage ward of Kalamassery Medical College.

The beneficiaries of this support include hospitals in the Government, Co-operative, and private sector too. All these hospitals are empaneled under the KASP (Karunya Arogya Suraksha Padhathi) healthcare scheme of Kerala Government.

Viswasanthi also plans to extend similar support to several cities across the country where medical facilities are stretched beyond limits.

Operation Java is too good; Enjoyed its impressive and effective making, says Suresh Gopi

‘Operation Java’ is making all the right noise as the film has got people talking all over. Coming from a relatively new team, the film surprised everyone and emerged as a box office hit. After its OTT release earlier this month, the talks have only got louder.

Superstar Suresh Gopi got to watch the film. He was so impressed by the film that he personally called director Tharun Moorthy and discussed about the film in detail. An excited Tharun shared a screenshot of the phone call and added that they discussed about each and every scene, the characters, politics, efforts and techniques employed.

Suresh Gopi has also written a brief note in his Facebook page in which he lauded the whole team. The star, who is also a Rajya Sabha MP, seems to have been moved by the unemployment issue discussed in the film as he promised that he would take it forward. He has written,

Called and talked to Tharun Moorthy, the maker of #OperationJava. The film was too good and its writing and direction were equally appreciable. I fully enjoyed its impressive and effective making. All the artists were fantabulous, especially Prasanth, Irshad, Binu Pappu, Balu Varghese, Lukman, Vinayakan and even the one shot artists. The last title card appeared as a request to the administration and emotionally struck a chord with me. I’d be taking it forward. Kudos to the entire team!

CBI 5 to be launched on the auspicious day of Chingam 1

It is already known that the fifth part of the popular CBI franchise is on cards. The project has been in the talks for over two years but kept getting delayed due to various reasons. The trio of Mammootty, script writer SN Swamy and director K Madhu are reuniting for the fifth part and Swargachitra Appachan will be producing it.

It has now been announced that ‘CBI 5’ will be launched in August, on the auspicious day of Chingam 1. The makers are planning to shoot the film in Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram, Hyderabad and New Delhi. Shoot will be wrapped up in a single schedule.

Scriptwriter SN Swamy had earlier assured that ‘CBI 5’ will be a great experience for the audience. He even claimed that the film’s climax will redefine the way future thrillers get made in Malayalam cinema and trigger the start of a new wave. While Mammootty will be making a comeback as the iconic Sethurama Iyer, he will be joined by Mukesh, Sai Kumar, Renji Panicker and many others. On the technical front, Jakes Bejoy has been signed as the music director.

‘Operation Java’ continues to impress many, including those from within the film industry. Kunchacko Boban, Rosshan Andrrews, Santhosh, Midhun Manuel Thomas, Anoop Menon, Manju Warrier, Aju Varghese and many others had written in praise of the film.

Recently, Prithviraj Sukumaran messaged its director Tharun Moorthy after being impressed by the film. Tharun has shared screenshots of their chat in his social media handle. Prithviraj has written that he really enjoyed watching ‘Operation Java’ and was impressed by Tharun’s command over the craft. He also added that he is eagerly looking forward to more such great films from the young filmmaker.

‘Operation Java’ is inspired from various real-life cyber-crime cases. It presents the investigations undertaken by the Kochi cyber cell department with the help of two engineering graduates. The film also addresses an important issue about unemployment. Balu Varghese and Lukman play the two leads. Binu Pappu, Vinayakan, Irshad, Shine Tom Chacko, Alexander Prashanth, Dhanya Ananya and Mamitha Baiju also star in it.

After a successful theatrical run, the film is currently streaming in Zee5.

SS Rajamouli’s upcoming film ‘RRR’ starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR has had humongous hype right from the time of its release. As its shoot nears competition, its business prospects are being widely discussed. The film is gearing up as a pan-Indian release in all major languages. Such is the expectation level that its satellite and digital rights have been sold for an all-time record price. It is learnt that the post-theatrical satellite rights and digital streaming rights of all Indian languages have been acquired by Zee 5 for a whopping Rs 325 crores. It is said to be the biggest ever deal in Indian cinema history.

‘RRR’ is Rajamouli’s immediate next after the record-breaking success of the ‘Baahubali’ films. That is one of the main reasons behind such huge hype. Moreover, the film has a star-studded cast comprising of Ram Charan, Jr NTR and Bollywood actors Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt.

‘RRR’ is an epic-period film made on a massive budget. It is about two freedom fighters, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem who fought against the British Raj and the Nizam of Hyderabad, respectively. While Jr NTR essays Komaram Bheem’s role, Ram Charan plays the part of Alluri Sitarama Raju. Olivia Morris, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, Samuthirakani and many others are also part of the cast.

Watch the fun teaser of Anoop Menon-Surabhi Lakshmi starrer Padma

The multifaceted Anoop Menon is directing a new film titled as ‘Padma’. It has him playing the lead role along with National-award winner Surahi Lakshmi. The film’s teaser got released online last day. It is a fun teaser from which we can make out that the two play a couple. Surabhi’s performance as the naive wife with a peculiar Malabari slang is the highlight of the teaser.

Written and directed by Anoop Menon, ‘Padma’ promises to be a relationship drama. He is also producing the film under his own banner Anoop Menon StoryZ. The film has cinematography by Mahadevan Thampi and Zian Sreekanth as the editor. Ninoy Varghese is composing the music. Others in the crew include project designer Badusha N M, art director Dundhu Ranjeev, chief associate director Varun G Panicker, production executive Anil G, colourist Liju Prabhakar and designer Antony Stephan.

‘Padma’ is Anoop Menon’s second film as a director. His directorial debut ‘King Fish’ starring him and Ranjith as the leads is yet to hit the screens. The film was supposed to release last year itself but got delayed due to the pandemic. Details regarding ‘Padma’ release are also not yet known.
