Murali Gopy completes dubbing for Drishyam 2

After wrapping up shoot earlier this month, the makers of ‘Drishyam 2’ are currently busy with the post-production works. Murali Gopy, who plays an important role in the film, has already completed dubbing for his portions. He is one of the few actors from ‘Drishyam 2’ who were not part of the first part. There are unconfirmed reports about the actor playing a cop’s role in the sequel.

‘Drishyam 2’ is written and directed by Jeethu Joseph. Mohanlal, Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Siddique, Asha Sharath, Aneesh Menon and Esther Anil are reprising their roles from the first part. Ganesh Kumar, Sai Kumar, Adam Ayub and Anjali Nair are the some of the new additions to the cast.

The film’s technical core crew includes DOP Satheesh Kurup, music director Anil Johnson, editor Vinayakan, art director Rajeev Kovilakam and costume designer Linda Jeethu. Antony Perumbavoor is producing the film under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.

This is Rahul’s first ever collaboration with MG Sreekumar and the composer is extremely thrilled about it. An excited Rahul has written,

I had been wishing for this since a long time but it’s happening now ?

Though MG Sreekumar hasn’t been very active in films these days, most of his songs still remain favourites among Malayalis. Over the last three decades, he has sung several blockbuster songs for Mohanlal’s films. Both the star’s fans and music lovers will be expecting another chartbuster number from the combo.

‘Aarattu’ directed by B Unnikrishnan went on floors only recently. Udhayakrishna is scripting the film, which is basically a mass-masala entertainer with action, comedy and all essential commercial ingredients in it. Mohanlal plays a larger-than-life character named Neyyattinkara Gopan in the film. Shraddha Srinath of ‘Vikram Vedha’ fame has been signed as the female lead. The supporting cast includes Sai Kumar, Siddique, Nedumudi Venu, Indrans Vijayaraghavan, Swasika, Neha Saxena, Rachana Narayanankutty and Sheela.

Prithviraj Sukumaran to star in Andhadhun Malayalam remake!

If reports are to be believed, the 2018-released blockbuster Hindi film, ‘Andhadhun’ is getting remade in Malayalam. Ace cinematographer Ravi K Chandran will be directing the film. As per these reports, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Ahaana Krishna and Mamta Mohandas will be playing the lead roles in the film. It is said that shoot for the film will begin in January. We are still awaiting an official confirmation from the makers.

‘Andhadhun’ is a black-comedy, thriller starring Ayushmann Khuranna, Radhika Apte and Tabu. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, it is one of the most acclaimed films in Indian cinema in recent years. The film won several awards at various levels, which includes three at the National level as well. Ayushmann’s stellar performance won him the award for Best Actor. It also won the award for Best Hindi film and Best Adapted Screenplay. Besides the critical acclaim, the movie was a huge commercial success as well.

‘Andhadhun’ is also getting remade in Tamil and Telugu languages. In Tamil, Prashanth will be playing the lead role. The actor’s father Thiagarajan had bagged the remake rights officially. Though ‘Thani Oruvan’ fame Mohan Raja was initially signed as the director, he later opted out due to creative differences. ‘Ponmagal Vandhal’ fame JJ Fredrick will instead helm the project.

The Telugu version of ‘Andhadhun’ will be directed by Merlapaka Gandhi. Nithiin, Nabha Natesh and Tamannaah Bhatia have been signed to be play the lead roles.

Santhosh Sivan is making his comeback to Malayalam as a director with ‘Jack and Jill’ that has Kalidas Jayaram, Manju Warrier and Soubin Shahir playing the lead roles. The film has been in the making for over a year now. Finally, it seems like the makers are ready for sharing some updates. The first single from the film will be out on November 27.

Manju Warrier has sung the track that is composed by Ram Sunder. Lyrics is penned by BK Harinarayanan. Manju has previously sung in films like ‘Aaram Thampuran’ and ‘Kannezhuthi Pottum Thottu’. She last rendered a track in her 2015 film ‘Jo and the Boy’.

‘Jack and Jill’ is said to be a multi-genre film, it is the first of its kind attempt in Malayalam. It’s a quirky sci-fi film in which Artificial Intelligence (AI) is an integral part. Manju Warrier plays the role of a woman who is being experimented upon. The cast also includes Nedumudi Venu, Ramesh Pisharody, Basil Joseph, Shailee Kishan and Suraj Venjaramoodu.

A Dubai based company named Lensman Studios is producing the film.

‘Ennu Ninte Moideen’ director RS Vimal is set to helm a rom-com entertainer next. Sunny Wayne and Aparna Das of ‘Manoharam’ and ‘Njan Prakashan’ fame have been signed as the leads. The makers are planning to start shooting from December 2. More details regarding the title, supporting cast and crew are likely to be announced before the film goes on floors.

RS Vimal had earlier announced two other projects — ‘Mahavir Karna’ with Tamil superstar Vikram and ‘Dharma Rajya’, a film about a real-life hero from the Travancore kingdom. ‘Mahavir Karna’ shoot had begun two years back but it is currently put on hold as Vikram is busy with other commitments.

‘Dharma Rajya’ meanwhile is an ambitious film which is being planned to be made as a multilingual in multiple languages. As per RS Vimal, a superstar from Malayalam has agreed to play the lead role. Since it is a multilingual, ‘Dharma Rajya’ will also have several leading actors from Indian cinema including those from Bollywood. The director has also claimed that it will be India’s first film to be captured through virtual production in London. Pooja Entertainments will be backing the project.

Samyuktha Menon and Arjun Ashokan will be seen in the lead roles in a new film titled ‘Wolf’. It is an emotional thriller directed by Shaji Azees, who has previously helmed films like ‘Shakespeare MA Malayalam’ and ‘Oridathoru Post Man’.

‘Wolf’ is based on a short story penned by popular novelist GR Indugopan. He has also written the film’s screenplay. The story is set around a police aid post and a nearby house over a day and night has scripted the film. Shine Tom Chacko plays a police officer’s role in the film. Samyuktha Menon essays the part of a young woman who is about to get married. Arjun Ashokan plays her fiance’s character. Jaffer Idukki and Irshad are also there in important roles. The film only has a handful of actors are part of the cast.

Due to the pandemic situation, the makers are using limited resources to shoot the film. All safety protocols advised by the government are being followed by the crew members. Faiz Siddik is the cinematographer and Ranjin Raj of ‘Joseph’ fame is the music director. Noufal Abdullah is the editor.

Santhosh Damodharan is producing the film under the banner of Damor Cinema.

‘Kudukku 2025’ is a futuristic thriller, that is set in a post-pandemic world. According to director Bilahari, the film starts as a regular entertainer and develops into a mystery, action-thriller. State Award winner Swasika, Durga Krishna and Shine Tom Chacko will be seen in other important roles.

Debuatnt Abhimanue Viswanath is the cinematographer and Kiran Das is editing the film. Songs are composed by Sruthi Lakshmee and Mujeeb Majeed while background score is handled by Manikandan Ayyappa.

Editor-turned-filmmaker Appu N Bhattathiri is making his directorial debut with this film, shoot for which is currently progressing. Last day, Kunchacko Boban shared a family photo taken with Nayanthara at the film’s sets. The actress is seen holding his son Izahaak in this adorable picture that has already gone viral.

Last week, when Nayanthara celebrated her 36th birthday, the makers of ‘Nizhal’ had organized a brief cake cutting ceremony on location. Kunchacko Boban was also present along with the crew members. The team had also released a birthday special poster featuring her. Superstars Mohanlal and Mammootty shared the poster through their respective social media handles.

Dulquer Salmaan’s production house Wayfarer Films is producing a new film that has ‘Queen’ fame Dhruvan, Shine Tom Chacko and Ahaana Krishna in the lead roles. Prasobh Vijayan, who had earlier directed ‘Lilli’ and ‘Anveshanam’, is helming this film. It is scripted by Ratheeh Ravi of ‘Ishq’ fame.

Shoot has been progressing in Ernakulam for the last few days. It is learnt that the makers have completed the first schedule. Details regarding the film’s genre, supporting cast and technical crew are not yet known. The team is expected to make a formal announcement soon.

Dulquer Salmaan had set up Wayfarer Films to promote young talents. This is the banner’s fourth production venture after ‘Maniyarayile Ashokan’, ‘Varane Avashyamund’ and the yet to be released ‘Kurup’. While ‘Varane Avashyamund’ was a theatrical success, ‘Maniyarayile Ashokan’ got released in Netflix and received lukewarm response. ‘Kurup’, touted to be the biggest project in the star’s career, is also most likely to be an OTT release.

He has previously helmed two films — ‘Doubles’ starring Mammootty, Taapsee Pannu and Nadia Moidu, and ‘Vanyam’ with Aparna Nair and Vishnu Unnikrishnan as the leads.

First look poster of his new film ‘Unlock’ has been shared by megastar Mammootty through his social media handle. The film is produced by Sajeesh Manjeri under the banner. It will be presented by Hippo Prime Motion Pictures and Movie Pay Medias. The film’s core technical crew comprises of Abhilas Shanker as the DOP and Sajan V as the editor. More details regarding the film’s genre and when shoot begins are expected to be out soon.

All the three lead actors — Mamta Mohandas, Chemban and Sreenth Bhasi have multiple projects lined up. Mamta recently turned a producer with a music video titled ‘Lokame’. She also has ‘Lalbagh’ gearing up for release. Chemban has ‘Churuli’, ‘Ajagajantharam’ and ‘Member Rameshan 9aam Ward’ lined up for release.
