Official: Lokesh Kanagaraj announces his next with Kamal Haasan!

As speculated earlier, Kamal Haasan’s next film is indeed with the highly promising Lokesh Kanagaraj. The veteran star’s own production house Raaj Kamal Film International (RKFI) is producing the film, which is planned as a summer 2021 release. Anirudh Ravichander will be composing the music. Announcing the project, both Kamal and Lokesh shared a dazzling poster in which a man’s picture is put together with a collage made by various types of guns. In the poster, it is also written, ‘Once upon a time there lived a ghost’.

The film was announced with the hashtag ‘Evanendru Ninaithaai’. So there still exists a doubt regarding the film’s official title. From the poster, many presume it to be a gangster film but the makers haven’t revealed anything about the genre. However, RKFI confirmed that the film will be a proper entertainer, something that Kamal hasn’t done in a long time.

Lokesh Kanagaraj’s growth as filmmaker is remarkable and inspiring to many. After ‘Master’, it was said that Lokesh will be directing a Rajinikanth film for Kamal’s banner RKFI. But due to some unknown reasons that project got dropped. It is not sure if it is the same project that was announced last day with Kamal as the lead actor. Being a self-confessed Kamal fan, Lokesh will be shouldering massive expectations.

‘Kamal Haasan 232’ (tentative title) will be seen as Lokesh’s tribute as a fanboy to his matinee idol just like how Karthik Subbaraj made ‘Petta’ with Rajinikanth.
