Mammootty’s much-awaited political film ‘One’ is gearing up to hit screens next month. The makers are planning to release the film by the first week of April. With just a few more days left for release, social media promotions have begun. A new poster featuring some of the main actors in the film were released online last day. Along with Mammootty, the poster also has Siddique, Balachandra Menon, Salim Kumar, Madhu, Ranjith and the teeange actor Mathew Thomas.

‘Chirakodinja Kinvaukal’ fame Santhosh Viswanath is directing ‘One’. Award winning writers Bobby and Sanjay are scripting the film in which Mammootty plays the role of Kerala State Chief Minister. The film’s elaborate supporting cast also includes actors like Murali Gopy, Nimisha Sajayan, Joju George, Gayathri Arun, Sudev Nair, Jayan Cherthala, Suresh Krishna, Shanker Ramakrishnan, Alencier Ley Lopez, Mammukoya and Balaji Sharma.

Sreelakshmi R is producing the film under the banner of Ichais Productions. Anto Joseph Film Company is releasing it in Kerala.

Housefull and special shows galore for Tovino’s Forensic!

Tovino Thomas’ latest film ‘Forensic’ has got off to excellent start at the box office. Thanks to the highly positive word of mouth, theatres are having high occupancy. As per the makers, the film grossed Rs 2.14 crore from its first day itself. On Saturday, the film played with housefull shows at several centres across Kerala. Extra shows were also added in many theatres to accommodate the crowd.

‘Forensic’ is witnessing an initial overflowing rush just like ‘Anjaam Pathiraa’, which was also a thriller. This is mainly because the audience wish to see the film before spoilers kill the fun. Going by the current response, ‘Forensic’ is certain to have a successful run at the box office. Besides the feedback from the commoners, critic reviews have also been largely positive.

‘Forensic’ is written and directed by Akhil Paul and Anas Khan. It is an investigative-thriller centred around a series of abduction and killing of girl children. Mamta Mohandas essays the character of an IPS officer named Rithika Xavier and she heads the investigation. Tovino Thomas plays the lead role of a medico legal advisor in the film.

Master shoot wrapped up; All set for a grand release in April

After shooting for close to five months, team ‘Master’ called it a wrap last day. The makers broke the news by sharing a million dollar pic featuring the two lead actors, Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi. The photo that has Vijay Sethupathi kissing Vijay with the crew members cheering behind has gone viral in social medias. With the shoot done, the makers have moved straight to the post-production to ensure a smooth release in April.

‘Master’ is written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj of ‘Kaithi’ fame. Vijay plays a college professor in the film and Vijay Sethupathi essays the role of the antagonist. Malavika Mohanan, Andrea Jeremiah, Arjun Das, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Gouri Kishan, Ramya Subramaniam, Sriman, Ramesh Thilak and many others are part of the supporting cast.

Young sensation Anirudh Ravichander is trusted with the music department and Sathyan Sooryan is in charge of the cinematography. Xavier Britto is producing the film under the banner of XB Pictures.

Prithviraj set to test his limits as he gears up to resume filming for Aadujeevitham

It is no secret that Prithviraj is starring in the Blessy directorial ‘Aadujeevitham’, which is based on Benyamin’s award winning novel of the same name. It is the life story of an abused migrant worker, Najeeb Mohammed, who gets stranded in the middle of deserts in Saudi Arabia. For the last two months, Prithviraj has been on a break from all other commitments to transform physically for this ambitious film.

Each of his public appearance during these two months has stunned everyone. The actor has shed close to 30 kilos during this phase to achieve a malnourished look. While some actors are known for beefing up their body or even shedding a few kilos, a drastic weight reduction of this proportion is being done by someone for the first time in Malayalam industry.

Prithviraj is now leaving the country for the film’s shoot. Before that, he posted a long note on his Facebook page in which he has written that he will be testing his limits, physically, mentally and emotionally for the film. His Facebook post reads,

It’s been tough the last couple of months. When I set out on my journey of transformation for Aadujeevitham, I deliberately did not set myself a goal. The idea was to lose as much as I can. But I guess if I did have a goal, I have most probably surpassed it by now. Having said that, the next two weeks are when I’m going to really push myself. And today, I’m leaving the country For two reasons. One, I think it’s imperative that I take some time off to myself, and I mean just myself before the schedule starts and two, this last stage of my transformation, I think is something that should be seen only when the film hits the screens. So yes, like I promised Blessy chettan and more importantly, like I promised myself, I’m giving it my all. Over the next 15 days and then through the course of the entire shoot schedule, I will be constantly testing my limits. Physically, mentally and emotionally. And each day, every moment, I will motivate myself with the truth that all my efforts are minuscule and inconsequential when seen in perspective with Najeeb’s life. At this point, the hunger, fatigue and this immovable will that has taken its place inside me, together create a strangely spiritual aura around each day. And in a lot of ways..that is exactly what Najeeb’s journey was I guess. Every challenge the desert threw at him, crumbled against his immovable faith, his will, his trust in the universe! #Aadujeevitham ….When life, cinema, character and you blur into each other!

‘Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham’ directed by Priyadarshan is scheduled to hit screens on March 26. The film will be releasing in multiple languages in around 5000 theatres across the world. Gautham Menon expresses his wish to remake Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal in Hindi

Dulquer Salmaan’s recently released Tamil film ‘Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal’ has taken everyone by surprise and is turning into a sleeper hit at the box office. The film got released last Friday amidst very less hype mainly due to the fact that it had seen multiple delays and the presence of a very new team without any big names attached to it. But as it turns out, the film has clicked among the masses, particularly the youth audience.

Written and directed by debutant Desingh Periyasamy, ‘Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal’ starts off as a rom-com but has a thrill element in it. Dulquer, Ritu Varma amd Rakshan play major roles in the film. Ace filmmaker Gautham Menon is also there in a very important role. It is his performance that is said to be one of the film’s biggest highlights.

Last day, the director shared about his experience working with Dulquer and the young team of ‘Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal’. He also expressed his wish to remake the film in Hindi. Sharing a photo taken with Dulquer, he has written,

Dulquer was gracious enough to call Gautham as the real star of the film and thanked him for being part of the project. The star also stood by his policy of not doing remakes. He replied,

You’re the absolute star of this film sir !! Thank you for agreed to be a part of it. The way you’ve elevated the film cannot be expressed in words ! We have to do something together. But I’m gonna be stubborn and fight for original content

Lady superstar Nayanthara plays the lead role in the film, first look poster of which was released online last day. The actress appears in a divine avatar in the poster. Dr Isari K Ganesh of Vels International is producing the film.

Back in the 80s and 90s, there was a separate fan base for devotional films among the Tamil audience. ‘Mookuthi Amman’ is said to be a satirical take on the same. RJ Balaji has scripted the film and is also acting in it. Last year, he wrote and starred in ‘LKG’, which was also a satire on the current political scenario in the country.

‘Mookuthi Amman’ also stars Induja and Urvashi in major roles. Dinesh Krishnan is the DOP and music department is handled by Girishh. The makers have confirmed that the film will be hitting screens in May during the summer holidays.

Tovino’s latest film ‘Forensic’, which hit screens last day, is getting positive reports from all corners. The film written and directed by Akhil Paul and Anas Khan seems to have satisfied the thriller loving Malayali audience. Going by the initial response, ‘Forensic’ is certain to have a successful run at the box office. Critic reviews and the feedback from general audience have all been largely positive. Even a proven filmmaker like Ranjith Sankar has heaped praised on the makers. In his Facebook page, the director has written,

Miya George to play the female lead in Kalidas Jayaram’s next

Kalidas Jayaram’s new film got launched last day with a customary pooja ceremony. Kalidas, his father Jayaram, Miya George, Lal Jose and many others attended the brief event held at 3 Dots Studio in Kochi. This yet-to-be titled film will be directed by debutant Vinil Varghese. Shoot is scheduled to begin by mid March.

Miya George and newcomer Riya will be seen as the female leads in the film. Director Vinil Varghese himself has written the story and screenplay. Dialogues are penned by Vincent Vadakkan of ‘Trance’ fame. The film is being produced by Sreejith KS and Blessy Sreejith under the banner of Navarasa Films. The makers have got popular Tamil music director Ghibran to compose music. This will be his second film in Malayalam after debuting last year by handling the background score in ‘Athiran’.

Kalidas meanwhile is awaiting the release of ‘Backpackers’ directed by Jayaraj. The film has him and debutante Karthika Nair playing the lead roles as terminally ill patients. It is expected to hit screens shortly.

Parvathy to head to US for doing a direction course

After proving her mettle as an actor, National award winner Parvathy is now set to showcase her skills as a filmmaker. The actress has often stressed about her wish to direct a film some day and it is finally materializing. As per latest reports, Parvathy’s maiden directorial will begin by the end of this year or early next year. Prior to that, to prep herself up for the new challenge, the actress will be heading to the US for doing a two-month long filmmaking course.

Parvthay has also opted out of three already committed films to concentrate more on her directorial debut. She is also co-scripting the film. She currently has zeroed in two subjects – one with a strong political background and the other one, a thriller that explores the psychological space between two people. Both the film demands immense research and Parvathy is currently on it. An official announcement regarding the cast and crew is expected to be made in a few months time.

On the acting front, Parvathy recently shot for ‘Rachiyamma’, a segment directed by Venu as part of an anthology. ‘Varthamanam’ directed by Sidhartha Siva is her other film that is slated for release this year. She will also be seen in a cameo role in ‘Halal Love Story’ directed by Zakariya.
