The trailer of ‘Paapam Cheyyathavar Kalleriyatte’ has been released online. The film stars Vinay Forrt, Tini Tom, Arun Kurian, Anusree, Srinda and Santhy Balachandran in the lead roles. It is directed by Shambhu Purushothaman of ‘Vedivazhipadu’ fame. From the trailer, the film looks like a social satire centered around a Christian wedding.

The cast of ‘Paapam Cheyyathavar Kalleriyatte’ also includes actors like Anil Nedumangad, Alencier Ley Lopez, James Eliya, Sunil Sukhada, Ambika, Jolly Chirayath and many others. On the technical front, Jomon Thomas is cranking the camera and songs are composed by Prashanth Pillai. Background score is handled by Dawn Vincent. Others in the crew include editor Karthik Jogesh, sound designer Jayadevan Chakkadath, production designer Aji Adoor, makeup artist Arshad Varkala and sound mixer Sinoy Joseph.

Sanju Unnithan of Spire Productions is producing the movie. Thanks to the highly posters and other promos, the movie has already grabbed attention among passionate cinephiles in social medias.

Manju Warrier joins Nivin Pauly in Padavettu!

Shoot for Nivin Pauly starrrer ‘Padavettu’ was been progressing for the last couple of months in and around Kannur. Debutant Liju Krishna is directing the film. Actor Sunny Wayne is making his feature film production debut by funding this film. Aditi Balan, who shot to fame with ‘Aruvi’, is making her Malayalam debut by playing the female lead.

Last day, a surprise announcement was made by the makers about Manju Warrier joining the cast. Sunny Wayne broke the news officially by sharing a photo taken with Manju and Nivin Pauly. It must be noted that Sunny and Manju had recently acted together in a horror flick titled ‘Chathur Mukham’. So they both share a great rapport off screen as well, which must have helped Sunny to get her on board for ‘Padavettu’.

This is also Manju’s first film with Nivin and it will be interesting to see what kind of role she essays in the film. ‘Padavettu’ is said to be a rustic entertainer set in Kannur. Director Liju Krishna himself has scripted the film. He had earlier assured that the film will have Nivin Pauly in a kind of role that he has not done before. It is said to be a challenging role and the audience can expect to see a different side of the actor.

On the film’s technical front, Deepak D Menon wields camera and edits are being done by Shefeek Muhammed Ali. Govind Vasantha is handling the music department.

Soubin Shahir makes his singing debut with this fun track from Trance!

The two-year long wait for ‘Trance’ is coming to an end this Thursday (February 20). This ambitious film helmed by Anwar Rasheed has Fahadh Faasil and Nazriya in the lead roles. Several big names are part of the film like Academy Award winning sound designer Resul Pookutty and cinematographer Amal Neerad. Debutant Vincent Vadakkan has scripted ‘Trance’.

Music has great importance in the film. Rex Vijayan’s brother Jackson Vijayan is handling the music department along with Sushin Shyam. A new song composed by Jackson has just been released online. Actor Soubin Shahir and popualr rap peformer Blaaze have sung the track. Interestingly, this is Soubin’s first attempt in playback singing. The film also has a song composed by actor Vinayakan.

Soubin and Vinayakan are also playing crucial roles in ‘Trance’. The cast also includes Gautham Vasudev Menon, Chemban Vinod Jose, Dileesh Pothan, Arjun Ashokan, Jinu Joseph, Srinda, Dharmajan, Sreenath Bhasi and many others.

His character is named as Kadakkal Chandran. Murali Gopy and Joju George will be seen in other prominent roles.

A new poster featuring Mammootty, Joju George and Murali Gopy has just been released online. While Joju essays the role of party secretary, Murali Gopy is playing the part of State opposition leader. It is said that writers Bobby-Sanjay have taken inspiration from some real life incidents to script this film. With ‘One’, the makers are trying to address how an ideal Chief Minister should function.

Vignesh Shivan made the occasion even more special by announcing ‘Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal’, a dear project that he has been trying to operate for the last few years. Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Samantha have been signed to play the lead roles. The film is basically a triangular love story.

It is the first time that all the three stars are coming together. And the fact that all of them enjoy a big fan base heightens the expectations. 7 Screen Studios and Vignesh Shivan’s own banner Rowdy Pictures are jointly producing the film. It will have music composed by young sensation Anirudh Ravichander.

Within a month of its release, ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ has emerged as a true winner at the box office. It has been a long while since Malayalam cinema was witnessed a mass entertainer that doesn’t question the sensibilities of the audience. The Sachy directorial differs as it has managed to satisfy all sections of the audience.

‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ is the story of the two titular characters – Ayyappan Nair, a soon-to-retire policeman and Koshy Kurian, a retired havildar. It primarily revolves around the conflict between them. Though the plot might sound very thin, it is not. It is an intricately woven tale of revenge with a lot of important socio-political issues addressed.

Biju Menon plays Ayappan Nair and Prithviraj essays the part of Koshy Kurian. The terrific performances of these two actors is the film’s backbone. After a point, what seems like a petty ego clash brings out the animalistic traits in them. It all culminates a bloody action sequence. A making video of the climax scene has gone viral online. Reminiscent of the fighters from WWE, Prithviraj is seen performing a powerbomb on Biju Menon. It is commendable that the actors decided to take it upon themselves to perform such violent stunts without the help of body doubles.

Ennai Vittu: Dulquer and Ritu Varma look great together in this new song from Kannum Kannum Kollai Adithaal

After being in the making for over two years, Dulquer Salmaan’s Tamil film ‘Kannum Kannum Kollai Adithaal’ (KKKA) is finally hitting screens on February 28. The film was supposed to release much earlier but got postponed multiple times due to various reasons. As the release date is getting closer, the makers have shared the first single online.

The romantic track titled ‘Ennai Vittu’ primarily features Dulquer Salmaan and Ritu Varma. Television host Rakshan and Niranjani Ahathian also appear in the song as their friends. The song captures some lovely moments as the lead pair fall in love. Ranjith has sung the track and is composed by the popular music band, Masala Coffee. Filmmaker Vignesh Shivan of ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’ fame has penned the lyrics.

‘Kannum Kannum Kollai Adithaal’ is written and directed by debutant Desingh Periyasamy. Dulquer Salmaan reportedly plays the role of a happy-go-lucky IT professional named Siddharth aka Sid. From the promos itself, we can make out that it is a colourful rom-com. The film has KM Bhaskar as the cinematographer and Praveen Antony as the editor. Masala Coffee is composing the songs while background score is done by Harsh Vardhan Rameshwar.

Viacom 18 Studios is presenting the film in association with Anto Joseph Film Company.

Trance director Anwar Rasheed impressed by Forensic trailer

The recently released trailer of Tovino Thomas starrer ‘Forensic’ continues to get good response in social medias. Filmmaker Anwar Rasheed got to watch the trailer recently and was highly impressed by it. An appreciation coming from an accomplished filmmaker like Anwar should be a huge booster for ‘Forensic’ team. Earlier, actor Prithviraj Sukumaran had also heaped praise on the trailer.

‘Forensic’ is written and directed by Anas Khan and Akhil Paul. Tovino Thomas plays the lead role of a medico legal advisor working in the Kerala police’s forensic science lab. This is probably the first time that a full-length thriller film centred around forensic science is being made in Malayalam.

Mamta Mohandas essays the female lead’s part. She will be seen as an IPS officer named Rithika Xavier. ‘Bigil’ fame Reba Monica, Saiju Kurup, Giju John, ‘Lilli’ fame Dhanesh Anand, Renji Panicker, Prathap Pothen, Anwar Shereef, Anil Murali and many others are part of the supporting cast.

Music director Jakes Bejoy, DOP Akhil George and editor Shameer Muhammed form the core technical team. The film is being produced by Navis Xaviour and Siju Mathew under the banner of Juvis Productions and Raju Malliath’s Ragam Movies.

Post ‘Jallikkattu’, Antony Varghese has been busy signing back to back projects. He already has around 10 projects in his kitty. Last day, on the occasion of Valentine’s Day, a new film of his got announced. Titled as ‘Dev Fakir’, it will be directed by debutant Zac Harriss. Haneef Adeni of ‘The Great Father’ fame is scripting it. Haneef is also producing the film along with Badusha.

Mammootty released the title poster through his social media handle and wished the team luck. Nothing much is known regarding the genre or plot details of ‘Dev Fakir’ but from the look of things, we presume that it will be on the lines of Haneef’s earlier works like ‘TGF’, ‘Abrahaminte Santhathikal’ and ‘Mikhael’.

‘Dev Fakir’ will have music composed by Gopi Sunder and editing handled by Shameer Muhammed. More details regarding the supporting cast and when shoot begins are expected to be announced in the coming days.

We had earlier reported about Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Samantha coming together for a rom-com flick. The project has now been officially announced as.’Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal’. It is written and directed by Vignesh Shivan of ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’ fame. The promising young filmmaker has been planning to make the film for a while now but it kept delaying due to various reasons. The director has finally managed to get to the three star together for what is basically a triangular love story. Expectations will be huge on this film as all of them enjoy a big fan base and their on-screen chemistry will be really exciting.

Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi had earlier worked together previously in ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’ and ‘Imaikkaa Nodigal’. Though him and Samantha were part of ‘Super Deluxe’, they did not have any combination scenes. So it is the first time that all three of them are coming together, which itself is very exciting.

Vignesh Shivan was initially supposed to direct a film with Sivakarthikeyan but due to some unknown reasons, the project has been shelved. He is now going ahead with ‘Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kadhal’. 7 Screen Studios and the director’s own Rowdy Pictures will be jointly producing the film. It will have music composed by young sensation Anirudh Ravichander.
