Mullapoove: Shobana is all grace in this new song from Varane Avashyamund

‘Varane Avashymund’ continues to have a great run at the box office. Meanwhile, the makers have released a new song from the film. The track titled ‘Mullapoove’ is rendered by Haricharan. Alphons Joseph has composed it lyrics by Santhosh Varma. It comes as the opening song in the film featuring the ever graceful Shobana.

‘Varane Avashyamund’ is written and directed by Anoop Sathyan. Its star-studded cast has Dulquer Salmaan, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Suresh Gopi and Shobana in the lead roles. The film’s story is centred around four individuals – Bibeesh (Dulquer Salmaan), Major Unnikrishnan (Suresh Gopi), a single mother named Neena (Shobhana) and her daughter Nikhitha (Kalyani Priyadarshan). They all live in the same apartment in Chennai and the film is about how they all get connected eventually.

‘Varane Avashyamund’ is getting largely positive feedback from the audience, which includes both the youth as well as the families. Critics have also rated the film as an enjoyable feel-good entertainer. Dulquer has produced it along with M Star Entertainments.

As announced earlier, the first song from Vijay’s ‘Master’ has been released online today on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. The track titled ‘Oru Kutti Kathai’ is crooned by lead actor Viiay himself. This is his second song with music director Anirudh Ravichander after the sensational hit ‘Selfie Pulla’ from ‘Kaththi’. Actor-director Arunraja Kumaraja has penned the lyrics.

Interestingly, in almost all his recent films, Vijay has rendered atleast one song, which invariably becomes a chartbuster. This is Vijay’s second song with music director Anirudh Ravichander after the sensational hit ‘Selfie Pulla’ from ‘Kaththi’. It is a very intriguingly designed lyric video that presumably features Vijay as a college professor.

‘Master’ is written and directed by youngster Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is fresh from the superhit success of ‘Kaithi’. Vijay Sethupathi is playing the villain role and Malavika Mohan essays the female lead’s part. Andrea Jeremiah, Arjun Das, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj and ’96’ fame Gouri Kishan are also part of the supporting cast.

Xavier Britto is producing ‘Master’ which is scheduled for a grand release in April this year.

Zakariya likely to team up with Fahadh Faasil next

After winning hearts with the National-award winning ‘Sudani From Nigeria’, Zakariya is now working on ‘Halal Love Story’. The new film starring Joju George, Indrajith Sukumaran, Sharafudheen and Grace Antony is slated for Vishu release. After its release, Zakariya is most likely to team up with Fahadh Faasil. It will be the first time the director will be working on someone else’s script. More details are expected to be revealed soon.

Zakariya’s next release ‘Halal Love Story’ is a feel-good family drama. The film is scripted jointly by him and Muhsin Parari, who both had also penned ‘Sudani From Nigeria’. Filmmaker Aashiq Abu is producing the film along with Jesna Ashim and Harshad Ali.

Fahadh Faasil meanwhile is set to join the sets of ‘Thankam’, which will be directed by Saheed Arafath of ‘Theeram’ fame. National award winner Syam Pushkaran is scripting the film that also stars Dileesh Pothan and Joju George in lead roles. Fahadh, Syam and Dileesh Pothan are also involved in the film’s production. Fahadh has also committed for a film with debutant director Sajimon.

Prithviraj Sukumaran is all praise for Forensic trailer!

The trailer of Tovino’s upcoming film ‘Forensic’ got launched last day in a grand event held at Lulu Mall, Kochi. After the online release, the trailer has been getting excellent response from all corners. It gives a proper glimpse of what is essentially a thrilling hunt for a serial killer. The film is scripted and directed by debutant duo Akhil Paul and Anas Khan.

Prithviraj Sukumaran recently got to watch the trailer and was highly impressed by it. Here, it must be noted that Prithviraj was the one who introduced Akhil George through ‘7th Day’. Akhil had scripted the film, which interestingly also had Tovino in a major role.

‘Forensic’ has Tovino Thomas playing a medico legal advisor working in the Kerala police’s forensic science lab. Mamta Mohandas essays the female lead’s part. ‘Bigil’ fame Reba Monica, Saiju Kurup, Giju John, ‘Lilli’ fame Dhanesh Anand, Renji Panicker, Prathap Pothen, Anwar Shereef, Anil Murali and many others are part of the supporting cast.

‘Forensic’ is produced by Navis Xaviour and Siju Mathew under the banner of Juvis Productions and Raju Malliath’s Ragam Movies. Official announcement regarding the release date is expected to be made soon.

Mamta Mohandas essays the female lead’s part. She will be seen as an IPS officer in the film.

Today, on the occasion of Valentine’s Day, a new poster has been released by the makers of ‘Keshu Ee Veedinte Nathan’. The poster features the lead pair, Dileep and Urvashi. Dileep essays a middle-aged family man’s role in the film and Urvashi plays his wife’s part. The two actors are playing a couple for the first time and that is one of the film’s biggest highlights. Dileep plays the titular role while Urvashi’s character is named as Rathnamma. ‘June’ fame Vaishnavi and ‘Thanneer Mathan Dhinangal’ fame Naslen will be seen as the couple’s two kids.

‘Keshu Ee Veedinte Nathan’ is directed by Nadhirshah and scripted by National award winner Sajeev Pazhoor of ‘Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum’ fame. Dileep will be appearing in two different looks in the film and the actor has already undergone a major transformation look-wise by shaving his head.

‘Keshu Ee Veedinte Nathan’ has a huge set of supporting actors comprising of Anusree, Siddique, Salim Kumar, Harisree Ashokan, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Hareesh Kanaran, Sreejith Ravi, Jaffer Idukki, Kottayam Nazeer, Ganapathi, Swasika and many others

The film is being produced by NAD Group headed by Dileep and Nadhrishah. The makers are planning to release it during the Vishu season in April.

Today, on the special occasion of Valentine’s Day, a new teaser from Tovino Thomas’ upcoming film ‘Kilometers and Kilometers’ has been released online. The film is written and directed by Jeo Baby of ‘2 Penkuttikal’ fame. It has a foreign actress named India Jarvis as the female lead. Both the lead actors, Tovino Thomas and India Jarvis, feature in the teaser that gives vibes of a feel-good flick.

‘Kilometers and Kilometers’ is conceived as a travel based fun entertainer. According to Tovino, it is a proper commercial entertainer backed by strong content. The star is also turning a producer with his film as he is backing the project along with Ramshi Ahamed, Anto Joseph, and Sinu Sidharth.

On the technical front, ‘Oru Adaar Love’ DOP Sinu Sidharth has cranked the camera, Rahman Mohammed Ali and Prejish Praksh are jointly handling the edits and Sooraj S Kurup is composing the songs. Sushin Shyam is in charge of the background score.

The makers have planned to release the film by the end of this month. Exact date will be announced once the censoring process is completed.

The teaser of Kalidas Jayaram’s new film ‘Back Packers’ has been released online. Prithviraj Sukumaran shared the teaser through his official social media handle. Along with releasing the teaser, the star also wished luck to the entire team. Multiple national award winner Jayaraj is directing the film, which looks like a romantic film about two terminally ill patients. It is only ideal that the makers chose to release the teaser today on the occasion of Valentine’s Day.

Newcomer Karthika plays the female lead. Towards the end of the teaser, both Kalidas and Karthika are seen with shaven heads. Jayaraj has scripted the film that is based on a true story. Renji Panicker will be seen in a prominent role in the film. Abhinandan Ramanujan, well known for his work in films like ‘Amen’ and ‘Mosayile Kuthira Meenukal’, is the cinematographer. Dr Suresh Kumar Muttath is presenting the film under the banner of Prakruthi Films.

Jayasurya in a new avatar as the wizard of Kadamattam; Kathanar launch teaser looks stunning!

We were among the first to report about Jayasurya starring in a film based on the life of Kadamattath Kathanar. Rojin Thomas, one of the directors of ‘Philips and the Monkey Pen’, is helming the film. It is scripted by R Ramanand and Vijay Babu of Friday Film House is producing it. The makers have shared a launch teaser online, which looks amazing. It gives the feel of a really ambitious project, probably the first of its kind in Malayalam.

Kadamattath Kathanar is an 8th century priest from Kerala who is believed to have possessed supernatural powers. The project titled as ‘Kathanar The Wild Sorcerer’ is planned to be made in 3D format in two parts.

The technical crew comprises of DOP Neil D Cunha, music director Rahul Subramanian and CGI supervisor Vishnu Raj. Poetic VFX and Animations will be handling the CGI department. The makers are currently working on the pre-production and it is expected to take up to an year’s time. If things out turn out as per plans, it will be the most expensive film in Jayasurya’s career.
