Big Budget film to be made based on Indugopan’s famous story Chengannur Goodasangham!

GR Indugopan’s works seem to be much in demand in Malayalam. His detective series, ‘Detective Prabhakaran’ is being made into a film and it will be directed by Jude Anthany Joseph. Likewise, Jeethu Joseph had earlier shown interest to adapt ‘Thaskaran: Maniyan Pillayude Aathmakatha’, one of Indugopan’s famous works. We now hear that another work of his is getting a feature film adaptation.

Sophia Paul of Weekend Blockbusters is producing a big budget film based on the story ‘Chengannur Goodasangham’, from Indugopan’s book ‘Amminipilla Vettu Case’. It is a story of a bunch of brave fishermen from Munambam coast. Lead by the hero, these fishermen sail dangerously through the Indian ocean to the isles of Diego Garcia to catch sharks. Diego Garcia is an island of the British Indian Ocean Territory, an overseas territory of the United Kingdom. It is a militarised atoll just south of the equator in the central Indian Ocean. The film will be about the adventurous lives of these fishermen who brave even the US army.

From what we gather, Weekend Blockbusters is set to produce a very ambitious project. Details regarding the cast and crew have not yet been revealed.
