Aanaparambile World Cup: Antony Varghese's next announced

As reported by us earlier, Antony Varghese is starring in a football based film. Its title was unveiled just a while back by Tovino Thomas through his social media handle. Titled as ‘Aanaparambile World Cup’, the movie will be directed by debutant Nikhil Premraj. Stanley C S and Faizal Latheef are jointy producing the movie under the banner of Achappu Movie Magic and Mass Media Productions.

Director Nikhil Premraj himself has scripted the movie, which is said to be a football based flick set in the Malabar region. The makers had recently released a casting call looking for aspiring teenage actors, who have a flair in playing football as well. Newcomer Faiz Siddik will be cranking the camera and Jakes Bejoy is in charge of the music department. Noufal Abdullah will be handling the edits.

Porinju Mariam Jose release date confirmed

Veteran filmmaker Joshiy’s comeback film ‘Porinju Mariam Jose’ is gearing up for release. The makers have now announced that the movie will be hitting screens on August 15. The movie has Joju George, Nyla Usha and Chemban Vinod Jose playing the titular roles.
Abilash N Chandran has scripted the movie, which is reportedly a Trissur-based family drama cum thriller.

From the promos and talks within the industry, we presume that the movie has high expectations. Director Joshiy has not been in the best of form of late, so he will be trying to make a strong comeback with this film. Joju George’s character in the movie is named Porinju, while Nyla essays the role of Alappat Mariyam. Chemban Vinod plays the role of Puthanpalli Jose.

‘Porinju Mariam Jose’ has a solid technical crew. Ajai David Kachappilly has cranked the camera and music by the in-form Jakes Bejoy. Shyam Sasidharan is handling the edits. Rejimon is producing the movie under the banner of Keerthy Movies.

Here’s the teaser of Aakashaganga 2

As reported by us earlier, director Vinayan is making a sequel to his 1999 superhit film ‘Aakashaganga’. The teaser of the new film was launched last day via social medias.The original film had Divya Unni, Mukesh and Mayoori in the leads. When it comes to the sequel, the director has pulled off a huge star cast comprising of Sreenath Bhasi, Ramya Krishnan,Vishnu Vinay, Vishnu Govindan, Hareesh Kanaran, Salim Kumar, Niharika, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Senthil Krishna, Hareesh Peradi, Riyas, Arathi, Praveena, Thesni Khan and many others.

On the technical front, cinematography is by Prakash Kutty and music department is handled jointly by Bijibal and Benny Ignatius. Abhilash Vishwanath is in charge of the edits. According to director Vinayan, the sequel, ‘Aakashaganga 2’ will be technically sound and richer than the first part, that was released two decades back. The director himself is producing the movie under the banner of Akash Films.

Singappenney: First single from Bigil set to be released

Recently, a song from Vijay’s upcoming movie ‘Bigil’ was leaked online. The makers have now decided to release the track officially. Titled as ‘Singappenney’, the song is penned by Vivek and composed by AR Rahman. It is expected to be an inspirational kind of song. It is dedicated to all the daughters of the country. The song will be out online on Tuesday (July 23).

‘Bigil’ directed by Atlee is among the most anticipated Tamil films of this year. The movie has Vijay dual playing a dual role as a gangster father and his football player son. It promises to be an action-packed mass entertainer with women’s football at its crux. Nayanthara is paired with Vijay. Veteran Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff, Kathir, Yogi Babu, Vivek, Induja, Varsha Bollamma and Reba Monica John, Daniel Balaji and Anand Raj will be seen in supporting roles.

AR Rahman has scored music for the movie and cinematography is by ‘Mersal’ fame GK Vishnu. ‘Bigil’ is scheduled for a grand Diwali release in October.

Check out the teaser of Prithviraj starrer Brother’s Day

As informed earlier by the makers, the official teaser of ‘Brother’s Day’ has been released online. The movie marks the directorial debut of Kalabhavan Shajohn. He has also scripted the film. Prithviraj Sukumaran plays the lead in the film, which also has four heroines in Madonna Sebastian, Miya George, Aishwarya Lekshmi and Prayaga Martin.

‘Brother’s Day’ promises to be a fun filled commercial mass entertainer. Tamil actor Prasanna is making his Malayalam debut with this movie. He is said to be essaying the villain’s part, but the makers are yet to confirm the same. Dharmajan Bolgatty, Vijayaraghavan, Kottayam Nazeer and many others are part of the supporting cast.

‘Brother’s Day’ has camera cranked by Jithu Damodar and songs composed by Nadirshah. Background score is done by 4 Musics of ‘Oppam’ fame. Listin Stephen is producing the movie under the banner of Magic Frames.

Abhay Deol to play the villain in Sivakarthikeyan’s Hero

As reported by us, Sivakarthikeyan is teaming up with ‘Irumbuthirai’ fame PS Mithran for a new film titled ‘Hero’. The movie is being produced by RD Raja’s 24 AM Studios and KJR Studios. Touted to action-thriller, the movie already stars ‘action king’ Arjun, Ivana and Kalyani Priyadarshan. Latest to join the cast is Bollywood actor Abhay Deol.

Abhay is well known for his performances in films like ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’, ‘Manorama Six Feet Under’ and ‘Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye’. ‘Hero’ marks his debut in Tamil and he will be seen as the villain in this movie. It will be quite exciting to see Sivakarthikeyan locking horns with a powerful actor like Abhay Deol.

According to director Mithran, ‘Hero’ will be on the lines of his directorial debut ‘Irumbuthirai’, with a very relevant social message in it. George C Willaims is cranking the camera and Ruben handles the edits. Yuvan Shankar Raja has been signed as the music director.

Ninakkayi Njan: Here’s a new song from Margamkali featuring Bibin George and Gouri Kishan

The first single from ‘Margamkali’ was released last day in social medias. The track titled ‘Ninakkayi Njan’ features Bibin George and Gouri G Kishan of ’96’ fame. Bibin George has rendered the track as well. It is composed by Gopi Sunder and lyrics is penned by Abeenraj MA.

‘Margamkali’ stars Bibin George and Namitha Pramod in the lead roles. It is directed by Sreejith Vijayan of ‘Kuttanadan Marapapa’ fame. From the promos, it vibes of a full-on fun filled entertainer. The movie has its story and screenplay penned by debutant Shashankan Mayyanad, while dialogues are written by lead actor Bibin himself.

Baiju Santhosh, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Surabhi Santhosh, Shanthi Krishna, Siddique, Soumya Menon, Bindu Panicker and many others are part of the supporting cast. On the technical side, Arvind Krishna has cranked the camera and music is by Gopi Sunder. Johnkutty is handling the editing department.

The movie is being produced jointly by Alwin Antony and Listin Stephen under the banners of Magic Frames and Ananya Films. It is scheduled to hit screens next month.

Dulquer Salmaan releases the teaser of Soubin’s Ambili

Director John Paul George who made an excellent directorial debut with ‘Guppy’ is back after three years with his second film. Titled as ‘Ambili’, the movie stars Soubin Shahir in the lead role. Nazriya Nazim’s younger brother Naveen Nazim and debutante Tanvi Ram play the other major roles in the movie. As informed earlier by the makers, the movie’s teaser has just been released online.

As per reports, ‘Ambili: is a road film that has Soubin playing the titular role. Tanvi essays the role of Tina and she is paired with Soubin. Naveen plays the role of an adventure junkie. The movie has reportedly been shot in various states across the country. Sharan Velayudhan, a noted cinematographer in the ad film industry, has wielded the camera for this movie.

Vishnu Vijay, who won the State award for background music for his work in ‘Guppy’, has been retained for ‘Ambili’ as well. Kiran Das is handling the edits. Mukesh R Mehta, AV Anoop and CV Sarathy are jointly producing the movie under the banner of E4 Entertainment.

From Malarvadi Arts Club to Sachin: Aju Varghese is 100 films old

Aju Varghese is an indispensable part of Malayalam films these days. His latest release ‘Sachin’, starring Dhyan Sreenivasan in the lead, is quite a special one as its 100th film. In a career spanning nine years, Aju has predominately done side-kick roles. He has also done a few notable character roles, which includes some grey shaded ones.

Parvathy opts out of Fahadh Faasil film?

It was earlier reported that director Mahesh Narayanan’s next film will have Fahadh Faasil and Parvathy in the lead roles. Anto Joseph is producing the film, which was originally scheduled to go on floors next month. However, latest reports suggest that Parvathy has opted out of the film. Reportedly, the actress is planning to take a break from acting and that is the reason for her to bow out of the project.

It must be remembered that Parvathy and Fahadh Faasil had starred in Mahesh Narayanan’s directorial debut ‘Take Off’ as well. The movie emerged as a big success and bagged several awards at the state and national level, including a special jury award for the director at the prestigious International Film Festival of India. Parvathy even won a National award for her performance in the film.

An official confirmation regarding Parvathy’s exit has not yet been given, neither by her nor by the makers.
