Ittymaani Made in China: Mohalal and Radikaa Sarathkumar to act together after 34 long years

Mohanlal’s ‘Ittymaani Made In China’ is scheduled to go on floors this month end. Directed by debutant duo Jibi and Joju, the movie will be a full-on comedy entertainer, something that Mohanlal has not done of late. If reports are to be believed, Honey Rose has been signed as the female lead. Veteran Tamil actress Radikaa Sarathkumar will also be appearing in a prominent role in the movie.

Interestingly, it is after three long decades that Mohanlal and Radikaa will be acting together. The last film in which they shared screen space was ‘Koodum Thedi’, which was released 34 years back in 1985. Radikaa, who was away from Malayalam for a long while made a strong comeback in 2017 with the Dileep starrer ‘Ramaleela’. She is also part of the upcoming crime drama, ‘The Gambinos’.

Shoot for ‘Ittymaani’ will be commencing in Singapore.After shooting there for five days, the team will be shifting to Kerala. Full fledged shoot will be commencing by the last week of April. Antony Perumbavoor is producing the movie under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.

Release date announced for Dulquer Salmaan’s The Zoya Factor

As we had reported earlier, Dulquer Salmaan is starring in the movie adaptation of Anuja Chauhan’s 2008 best seller novel, The Zoya Factor. Abhishek Sharma is directing the movie and Sonam Kapoor plays the titular role of Zoya. Fox Star Studios and Adlabs Films are jointly funding the movie. Last day, Dulquer announced the much awaited released through his official social media handle. He has written,

The Zoya Factor is centred around Zoya Singh Solanki, a PR executive. Zoya was born on the exact moment when Indian cricket team had lifted the 1983 World Cup. She is considered as a lucky charm by the Indian team and media. While everyone consider her lucky, team’s captain Nikhil Khoda and Zoya are always hostile to each other. The former doesn’t believe in luck and relies only on performance. Zoya keeps clashing with the Indian skipper, and what follows is a love-hate relationship.

Dulquer Salmaan plays Nikhil Khoda’s role in the movie. For playing the cricketer’s role,the actor had trained hard in the sport. Videos of him sweating it out in the nets had gone viral in social medias.

Kadaram Kondan: Vikram records a song for his new film

Chiyaan Vikram has lent his voice for a track in his upcoming movie, ‘Kadaram Kondan’. Music director Ghibran recorded the song, which is said to motivational track. The composer took to his official social media handle to share photos from the recording studio. The movie directed by ‘Thoongavanam’ fame Rajesh M Selva is touted to be an action packed thriller.

From the movie’s recently released teaser, it is presumed that Vikram plays the role of a cop. The movie has him sporting a stylish salt and pepper bearded look. Kamal Haasan’s younger daughter Akshara Haasan, Abi Hasan and Malayali actress Lena are essaying key roles in the film.

In the technical front, the movie has Srinivasa R Gutha wielding the camera, Ghibran as the music director and Praveen KL handling the edits. Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan is producing the movie under his banner Raajkamal Films International. Tridents Arts is also associated with the movie’s production. Official announcement regarding the release date is expected to be made soon.

‘Lucifer’ starring Mohanlal in the lead is getting ready for a grand release this month end. The movie directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and scripted by Murali Gopy is touted to be a mass-packed political entertainer. ‘Lucifer’ has a star studded cast. Tovino Thomas, Vivek Oberoi, Indrajith Sukumaran and Manju Warrier essay prominent roles in the movie.

The movie is being produced by Mohanlal’s own banner Aashirvad Cinemas.

The makers are planning to release the movie on March 28, but an official word regarding the same is yet to be made.

Official trailer of the upcoming Guinness Pakru starrer ‘Ilayaraja’ has been released in social medias. The movie is directed by Madhav Ramdasan, who has earlier helmed acclaimed films like ‘Apothecary’ and ‘Melvilasom’. ‘Ilayaraja’ has Pakru playing the lead role of Vanajan while Gokul Suresh appears in a cameo role as Bryan. Madhav Ramadan has has penned the movie’s story while screenplay and dialogues are penned by Sudeep T George.

‘Ilayaraja’ has an elaborate supporting cast comprising of Deepak Parambol, Harisree Ashokan, Kavitha Nair, Anil Nedumangad, Baby Ardra, Master Adhithyan, Jayaraj Warrier, Alphy Panjikaran, Binish Babu and many others. In the technical side, Pappinu cranks the camera and Ratheesh Vegha handles the music department. Sreenivasa Krishna is the editor. We had recently reported about Karthi teaming up with director Lokesh Kanagaraj, who made his debut with the superhit action-thriller ‘Maanagaram’. Title and first look poster of the upcoming movie was officially released a while back in social medias. Titled as ‘Kaithi’, the movie reportedly has Karthi playing a jail convict. The poster looks intense with blood shades all over and it hints at an action packed flick. SR Prakashbabu and Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures is producing the movie.

Karthi has an interesting line up of films in his kitty. He has signed for a film with Malayali filmmaker Jeethu Joseph. Said to be a thriller, the movie reportedly has Jyothika also playing a major role. Official word regarding the same has not yet been by the makers. If it materialises, it will be Karthi’s first film with his sister-in-law Jyothika.

Karthi has also committed for a film with ‘Remo’ director Bakkiyaraj Kannan. Touted to be an action cum family drama, the film will mark the Tamil debut of South Indian sensation Rashmika Mandanna.

Nadirshah’s third directorial venture, ‘Mera Naam Shaji’ is getting ready to hit screens during this coming holiday season. The movie stars Asif Ali, Biju Menon and Baiju in the lead roles. As informed earlier by the makers, the movie’s teaser has been released in social medias. Mammootty released the teaser through his official social media handle. The movie is about three individuals named Shaji and the teaser also gives a sneak peak of the same.

‘Mera Naam Shaji’ is expected to be a full on mass entertainer on the lines of Nadirshah’s previous two films, ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ and ‘Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan’. The story is about three men named Shaji, who are from different parts of Kerala, meeting accidentally at a point.

While Baiju’s character Shaji Sukumaran is from Trivandrum, Asif Ali’s Shaji George is from Ernakulam. Biju Menon’s character is from Kozhikode. Nikhila Vimal plays the female lead. The movie’s story is by Dileep Ponnan and Shani Khader. The former has also penned the screenplay and dialogues.

DOP Vinod Ilampally,editor Johnkutty and debutant music director Emil Muhammed are part of the movie’s technical crew. B Rakesh is producing the movie under the banner of of Universal Cinema.

Earlier in the day, the title of director Sasi’s new movie was launched. The movie titled ‘Sivappu Manjal Pachai’ (SMP) will have Siddharth and GV Prakash as the male leads and Malayali actress Lijomol Jose has been signed as the heroine. Lijomol is noted for her performance in movies like ‘Maheshinte Prathikaram’, ‘Kattapanayile Rithwik Roshan’ and ‘Streetlights’. SMP marks her debut in Tamil.

Director Sasi has helmed notable films like ‘Roja Kootam’, ‘Dishyum’, ‘Poo’ and ‘Ainthu Ainthu Ainthu’. His last film, ‘Pichaikkaran’ starring Vijay Antony was a huge hit at the box office. ‘Sivappu Manjal Pachai’ is said to be an emotional thriller revolving around a brother-sister relationship.

Lijomol plays GV Prakash’s sister in the film and Siddharth plays her husband. Kashmira plays GV Prakash’s pair in the film. GV and Siddharth are coming together for the first time. While GV essays the role of a bike racer, Siddharth will be seen as traffic police officer in the movie. Both the actors have pinned high hopes on the movie. They both shared the title poster in their respective social media handles.

Sachin is a romantic-comedy entertainer that has cricket as the backdrop. Anna Reshma Rajan of ‘Angamaly Diaries’ fame plays the female lead. Suriya 39: Director Siva to team up with Suriya next!

Director Siva, who on his fourth successive collaboration with Thala Ajith, delivered the massive blockbuster ‘Viswasam, is now much wanted in Tamil cinema circles. While it was earlier reported that his next film will be with Sivakarthikeyan, speculations are now running rife that he will be teaming up with Suriya next. KE Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green is said to be producing this project.

Suriya is currently shooting for KV Anand’s ‘Kaappaan’, which is in the final stages. After that, he will be joining hands with Sudha Kongara of ‘Irudhi Suttru’ fame. The movie (Suriya 38) is reportedly a biopic on GR Gopinath, the founder of Air Deccan and a retired captain of the Indian army.

As per reports from Kollywood medias, Suriya 39 will be with director Siva. It is expected to be a typcial Siva style mass commercial entertainer, much on the lines of his previous films, ‘Veeram’ and ‘Viswasam’. It has been a while since the actor has done a rural subject, so it will be a refreshing change.

Suriya’s next release will be ‘NGK’, a political thriller directed by Selvaraghan. This much awaited film is scheduled for summer release.
