Here’s a new song from Dhanush’s Maari 2

As informed earlier by the makers, the third and final single from Dhanush starrer Maari 2 has been released today. The song titled ‘Maari’s Aanandhi’ is a romantic track penned by Dhanush and composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
Maestro Ilayarajaa and MM Manasi have lent their voices for the song. Earlier, songs ‘Rowdy Baby’ and ‘Maari Gethu’ had become sensational hits.

Maari 2 directed by Balaji Mohan is the sequel to the 2015 film, Maari. Needless to say, Anirudh’s music was the USP of the first part. With Yuvan replacing him, there is a new flavor to the songs. It is after a long gap that Yuvan is composing for a Dhanush starrer, so expectations are high among the fans and music lovers.

Maari 2 has Dhanush reprising his role of the naughty don. The movie has Malayali actor Tovino Thomas playing the antagonist. Sai Pallavi, Varalakshmi Sarath Kumar and Krishna will be seen in other major roles. Dhanush himself is producing the movie under his banner Wunderbar Films. It is scheduled to hit screens on December 21.

As we already know, Thala Ajith’s Viswasam is scheduled for for a grand Pongal release, coming January. The movie touted to be a rural mass entertainer is directed by Siva. Kick-starting the promotions, the makers have announced that the first single from the movie will be announced tomorrow. The song titled Adchi Thooku is said to be the hero introduction song in the movie.

Sharing the news about the single release, music director D Imman has tweeted,

Viswasam marks Ajith’s fourth film with director Siva after Veeram, Vedhalam and Vivegam. While Veeram and Vedhalam were commercially successful, Vivegam. failed to impress the audience and bombed at the box office. With Viswasam, the actor-director duo will be hoping to get back to winning ways.

Viswasam has Ajith appearing in two different looks. Nayanthara plays the female lead. Sathya Jyothi Films is funding the movie. An official announcement regarding the exact release date will be made only after the censor board clearance.

NGK final schedule progressing in Kochi

The eagerly awaited Suriya starrer, NGK, is currently in the final stages of shoot. The team had recently landed in Kochi for the last schedule. They are currently filming a song sequence featuring the lead pair, Suriya and Rakul Preet Singh feature. A few stills from the movie’s location in Mattanchery have already surfaced online.

NGK is highly anticipated, by both Suriya fans and the common audience. The movie directed by Selvaraghavan has been on the floor for nearly a year now. It was initially planned as a Diwali release but shoot got delayed due to various reasons. The makers are planning to wrap up by the entire shoot shortly and soon get into the post-production works.

NGK is a political thriller that has Suriya playing the role of an MLA. It is said to be one of the most challenging roles that the actor has done in his career. Apart from Rakul Preet, the movie has one more female lead in Sai Pallavi. Telugu actor Jagapathi Babu will be seen as the villain. Nothing much is known about the film as the makers have been tight-lipped about the plot.

NGK’s technical crew comprises of music director Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematographer Arvind Krishna and editor Prasanna GK. SR Prabhu of Dream Warriror Pictures is funding the movie.

Vikram to team up with ‘Imaikkaa Nodigal’ director!!

Vikram is currently in talks with multiple project and if latest reports are to be believed, the actor has given his nod for a film with Ajay Gnanamuthu. The director is fresh from the success of ‘Imaikkaa Nodigal’, one of the biggest hits of the year. Vikram is impressed with the storyline, which is said to be a thriller. An official announcement is expected to be made shortly.

Vikram is currently shooting for ‘Kadaram Kondan’, directed by Rajesh M Selva of ‘Thoongavanam’ fame. Kamal Haasan is producing it under his banner Raj Kamal International. Tridents Arts is also associated with the production. Kamal Haasan’s younger daughter, Akshara Haasan is playing the female lead in the movie.

Vikram, known for his physical transformations has beefed up his body again and sports a stunning new look in his film. There are rumours about the movie being the remake of Hollywood thriller ‘Don’t Breathe’, but the makers are yet to confirm it. After its completion, the actor will start shooting for ‘Mahavir Karna’, an ambitious epic-scale project which will be helmed by RS Vimal of ‘Ennu Ninte Moideen’ fame. The movie will be made as a trilingual in Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam.

Lucifer is one of the most hyped movies in recent years. The movie has been on floors for around six months now. Shoot is currently in the final stages. As per latest reports, the team is currently shooting for a few important portions in Russia. We hear that lead actor Mohanlal is not part of the schedule as he is busy with AMMA star show in UAE. Prithviraj, who is making his directorial debut with Lucifer, is currently in St Petersburg, Russia. This leg of shoot has reportedly been planned for twelve more days.

Lucifer team had earlier shot in Idukki, Ernakulam, Trivandrum and Mumbai. The movie scripted by Murali Gopy, is a political thriller that has Mohanlal as a politician. Indrajith Sukumaran, Vivek Oberoi, Tovino Thomas and Manju Warrier are also playing other major roles in the movie. There is also an elaborate supporting cast comprising of Saniya Iyappan, Kalabhavan Shajon, Sai Kumar, Nandu, John Vijay, director Fazil, Sunil Sughatha, Thara Kalyan, Praveena Thomas and Mala Parvathy.

Lucifer is funded by Mohanlal’s home banner Aashirvad Cinemas. In the technical crew, Sujith Vaassudev cranks the camera and Deepak Dev handles the music department. The makers have slated the movie for a March release next year.

As we had reported earlier, Tovino Thomas starrer ‘Ente Ummante Peru’ is getting ready for Christmas release. Official teaser of the movie was released last evening by actor Dulquer Salmaan through his official social media handle. The movie directed by debutant Jose Sebastian has Tovino playing the lead along with veteran actress Urvasi. The fun teaser has got great reception in social medias. Tovino’s dream run in the box office and his popularity among the families is most likely to help this movie.

‘Ente Ummante Peru’ has Tovino playing Hameed, an average Muslim youngster from Malabar who runs an antique shop. He is on the look out for his mother, whom he has never seen in his entire life. The movie traces Hameed’s journey and from the teaser, we presume it is told in a very enjoyable manner. The movie is scripted jointly by Jose Sebastian and Sarath R Nair.

‘Ente Ummante Peru’ has newcomer Saipriya as Tovino’s pair. Shanthi Krishna, Dileesh Pothan, Hareesh Kanaran, Siddique and Mammukoya are also part of the supporting cast. On the technical front, Spain-born Jordi Plannel Closa is the cinematographer and Gopi Sunder handles the music department. Mahesh Narayanan is the editor.

The movie is being produced jointly by Anto Jospeh Film Company and Al Tari Movies. After the censoring process is completed, it is expected hit screens on December 21.
