Sequel to made for Dileep’s blockbuster film ‘Two Countries’

Seems like actor Dileep is back to being busy. After a tough two years, the actor is now in talks for multiple projects. If latest reports are to be believed, a sequel for his 2015 blockbuster film ‘Two Countries’ is currently in the planning. The movie starring Dileep and Mamta Mohandas was a huge blockbuster that went on to enter the prestigious Rs 50 crore club of Mollywood. Director Shafi and writer Rafi revealed their plans recently. Discussions are still in the initial stages and an official word is expected to be given shortly. If the sequel is indeed on, it will be interesting to see if the makers can repeat the success.

Dileep meanwhile is busy shooting for his B Unnikrishnan film, ‘Kodathi Samaksham Balan Vakkeel’. The actor plays the role of an advocate in the movie, which also stars Mamta Mohandas as one of the female leads. Dileep will soon be flying to Bangkok to complete the remaining portions of his ambitious 3D film ‘Professor Dinkan’. Rafi is scripting the movie. He is penning another film for Dileep titled, ‘Pickpocket’. It will be a big budget film directed by P Balachandra Kumar.

Aparr from the above mentioned projects, Dileep has also signed for a film with ‘Oru Vadakkan Selfie’ fame G Prajith. He is also said to be in talks for new projects with Arun Gopy and Nadrishah.

As Odiyan gets ready to hit screens next month, there is a huge buzz about the release strategies. While it was known that the makers will be planning it as the biggest ever release for a Malayalam movie, they are eyeing something even bigger. Director Shrikumar Menon has assured that the movie will be released in around 3000-4000 screens across the world. Unlike how it is usually done, Odiyan will have a simultaneous worldwide release. Apart from the usual centres like UK, US and Middle East, the movie will also be released in countries like Japan, Australia, Poland and New Zealand.

Promotion works for the movie are on in full swing. The makers are working tirelessly to ensure that the movie reaches out to people across the country. They been releasing posters and promo videos at regular intervals to raise the curiosity among the audience. Recently, the Telugu rights of the movie was bagged by D Abhiram and Samapath Kumar of Daggubati Creations. Both the original and Telugu version will be releasing simultaneously on December 14

Odiyan is basically an action packed mass entertainer with fantasy elements in it. Harikrishnan has scripted the movie based on the life of odiyans. Mohanlal plays the role of Manikyan, someone who is mastered in odividya. While Manju Warrier plays the female lead, Prakash Raj will be seen in the villain role. Manoj Joshi, Narain, Innocent, Kailas, Sana Althaf, Siddique and Nandu are also part of the supporting cast.

Odiyan’s technical team includes DOP Shaji Kumar, editor Johnkutty, action choreographer Peter Hein, art director Prashanth Madhav and composers M Jayachandran and Sam CS (background score). Mohanlal’s own banner Aashirvad Cinemas is producing the movie. It is slated for a grand release on December 14

When Fahadh Faasil and Nithya Menen came together on-screen for a brief portion in ‘Bangalore Days’, their on-screen chemistry was magical. That was one of the most crucial segments in the film and their performance made it memorable. After five years, the two actors are coming together once again for a love story. Nithya Menen revealed this in a new recent interview.

The actress sounded excited about the film and the opportunity to act with Fahadh. But she didn’t divulge details about the director or production house. According to her, it is a beautiful film with an unconventional love story. She is quoted saying to IANS, “I’m doing a Malayalam film, which I will be starting in February or March. It’s a beautiful film with Fahadh. I am really looking forward to working with Fahadh because for me, working with good actors is such a pleasure. It will be a beautiful… very unconventional love story.”

Nithya Menen is known for taking up only meaty roles that offer scope for performance. She already has many exciting projects coming up in various languages. In Tamil, she is playing the lead in the Jayalaithaa biopic ‘The Iron Lady’. In Telugu, she plays a cameo role as late actress Savitri in the NTR biopic. She is also making her Hindi debut with ‘Mission Mangalyaan’, which also stars Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Tapsee Pannu, Sharman Joshi and Sonakshi Sinha.

In Malayalam, Nithya has the TK Rajeev Kumar directorial ‘Kolambi’ coming up. She has also signed for a new sports movie, which is based on a national level athlete. Besides that, her multilingual film ‘Praana’, directed by VK Prakash is set to be screened at various international film festivals.

The ace filmmaker’s next was officially launched today with a customary pooja ceremony. The movie, tentatively titled RRR, has young superstars Jr NTR and Ram Charan as the leads. The launch event was attended by some big names like Chiranjeevi, Rana Daggubati, Raghavendra Rao and MM Keeravani.

Meanwhile, social medias are abuzz with speculations about the movie’s genre. Some unconfirmed reports suggest that it is a sports based flick, but the makers are yet to give an original word. However, they have made it clear that the movie will be totally different from Rajamouli’s earlier works. Both Jr NTR and Ram Charan will have equal prominence in the movie. The former has been training hard to develop a ripped physique for the movie. He worked closely with renowned fitness trainer Lloyd Stevens to get in shape before the commencement of shoot.

Ram Charan and Jr NTR had earlier travelled to Los Angeles as part of their preparations. Rajamouli’s son SS Karthikeya also accompanied the actors in their trip. Reportedly, some famous technicians from Hollywood had conducted the look tests for both the actors. The movie has been planned to be made on an estimated budget of around Rs 300 crores. It is being produced by DVV Danayya under the banner of DVV Entertainment.

After the success of ’96’, Govind Vasantha teams up with Mani Ratnam!

After the spectacular album that he produced for ’96’, Govind Vasantha has become one of the most wanted composers in Kollywood. The ‘Thaikkudam Bridge’ man has bagged a new project under ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s banner Madras Talkies. The movie will be directed by debutant Dhana Sekarana and co-written by Mani Ratnam. Govind announced the big news to his followers by sharing a photo taken with Mani Ratnam on his official Instagram handle.

He has written, “With the man who brought Velunayakan and Anandan to life in front of us. Honoured to have signed up for a movie to be produced and co-written by The Mani Ratnam. Directed by Dhana Sekaran.”

This yet-to-be titled movie is expected to start rolling very soon. The makers are to yet to officially reveal the cast and crew details. Govind meanwhile has a slew of promising films in his kitty. He is handling the music department in ‘Uriyadi 2’ while his next release will be the Vijay Sethupathi starrer ‘Seethakaathi’.

The official teaser of ‘Vijay Superum Pournamiyum’ was released online today. The movie marks Asif Ali’s reunion with director Jis Joy after the superhit success of ‘Sunday Holiday’. The movie touted to be a feel good fun entertainer has Asif and ‘Mayaanadhi’ fame Aishwarya Lekshmi playing the lead roles.

‘Vijay Superum Pournamiyum’ has Asif Ali playing an engineering graduate while Aishwarya plays his friend, Pournami, an MBA student. This is Asif’s third outing with director Jis Joy after teaming up with him earlier in ‘Bicycles Thieves’ and ‘Sunday Holiday’.

According to the director, ‘Vijay Superum Pournamiyum’, unlike his earlier films, will be a socially relevant one with a strong message in it. The director himself has scripted the movie with prominence to humour, friendship, romance and family sentiments.

The movie has a good line up of supporting actors in Aju Varghese, Balu Varghese, Dharshana Rajendran, Joseph Annamukutty Jose, Arjun Ashokan, Renji Panicker, Shanthi Krishna and KPAC Lalitha.
It’s technical crew comprises of DOP Renadive of ‘CIA’ fame, editor Ratheesh Raj and debutant music director Prince George.

Fahadh Faasil has released the first look poster of ‘Mariyam Vannu Vilakkoodhi’, an upcoming movie starring Siju Wilson, Krishna Shankar, Althaf Salim and Shabareesh Varma in the lead roles. All the aforementioned actors feature in the poster, which gives hints of a complete fun entertainer. The movie marks the directorial debut of Jenith Kachappilly. Rajesh Augustine is producing the movie in association with Captian Bipin Rajendran, Sunil Kumar Vakeel and Srijith Babu.

‘Mariyam Vannu Vilakkoodhi’ (MVV) was initially titled as ‘Mandhakini’ but the makers later changed it to avoid confusion with films having similar titles like ‘Mandaram’ and ‘Dakini’. The movie marks the reunion of the ‘Premam’ gang of actors – Siju Wilson, Krishna Shankar, Althaf Salim and Shabareesh Varma – and it will be interesting to see how their rapport works on screen this time.

MVV’s crew comprises of DOP Shinoj P Ayyappan, editor Appu Bhattathiri, art director Manu Jagadh, music director Prashanth Pillai and lyricist Vinayak Sasikumar. Century Films will be releasing the movie in Kerala.

B Unnikrishnan is directing the movie which marks the entry of Bollywood production giant Viacom 18 Motion Pictures to Malayalam film industry. The team had a small celebration recently. Lead actress celebrated her birthday on the movie’s sets with her mother and the whole crew.

‘Kodathi Samaksham Balan Vakkeel’ is Mamta’s fifth outing with Dileep after sharing screen space with him in ‘Passenger’, ‘Arike’, ‘My Boss’ and ‘Two Countries’. The movie reportedly has two other female leads in Priya Anand and Prayaga Rose Martin. As per reports, all the three female actors in the movie have equal prominence.

‘Kodathi Samaksham Balan Vakkeel’ scripted by B Unnikrishnan has Dileep playing an advocate, who has a stuttering problem. It is said to be a very challenging role and the movie promises to explore his acting prowess. One can expect to see a sincere performance from him. Shoot for the movie is nearing completion and an official word about the release date is expected to be announced shortly.

‘Uyare’ is a movie inspired from several real life incidents. Parvathy plays an acid attack victim in the movie. Hers is the central character and she will be undergoing a new makeover for the movie. She had recently visited the Sheroes cafe in Agra to learn more about the lives of acid attack victims. The cafe is run by a group of women who survived acid attacks. The movie’s supporting cast includes Renji Panicker, Prem Prakash and Prathap Pothen.

‘Uyare’ director Manu Ashokan is a former associate of late Rajesh Pillai. The movie’s technical crew comprises of cinematographer Mukesh Muraleedharan, editor
Mahesh Narayanan and music director Gopi Sunder. The makers have also hired a separate makeup team to design Parvathy’s look in the movie.

The movie has been planned to be shot in Kochi, Mumbai and Agra.
