Here’s the set making video of Vada Chennai

Dhanush starrer ‘Vada Chennai’ is all set to hit screens on October 17. This eagerly awaited movie marks his reunion with multiple National award winner Vetrimaran. The actor’s own banner Wunderbar Films is funding the movie jointly with Lyca Productions. A whopping budget of around Rs 80 crores has been ingested on the movie. Realistic sets resembling slums were erected under the supervision of art director Jacki. The makers have released a new set making video that shows the huge efforts that have gone behind the work.

‘Vada Chennai’ is an epic gangster saga that spans different timelines. Along with Dhanush, the movie also has a host of other talented actors like Andrea Jeremiah, Aishwarya Rajesh, Samuthirakani, Ameer, Daniel Balaji Kishore, Karunas, Pawan and Radha Ravi. The project has been planned as a trilogy, with the first part releasing on 17th.

Director Vetrimaran and Dhanush have previously worked together in ‘Polladhavan’ and ‘Aadukalam’. Both the films were widely acclaimed with ‘Aadukalam’ alone bagging six awards at the National level. Naturally, expectations are massive for ‘Vada Chennai’.

Mini Studio is releasing the movie in a good number of centres across Kerala.

For a while now, there have been speculations about Mohanlal joining hands with veteran director Siddique for a movie titled ‘Big Brother’. The project has been officially announced today by the actor himself through his social media handle. Mohanlal has shared the title poster and a photo taken with director Siddique.

In an earlier interview, Siddique had revealed that ‘Big Brother’ will be a big budget film loaded with action and humour. As per reports, the movie will go on floors early next year. The two last worked together in ‘Ladies and Gentlemen’, which was released back in 2013. Though the movie was released amidst huge expectations, it failed to impress the viewers and flopped at the box office. The duo will be trying to rectify the mistakes and reap success mark this time.

Mohanlal is among the most busiest actors in the industry with multiple projects in his kitty. He is currently shooting for his Tamil film with director KV Anand. The movie also starring Suriya has Mohanlal playing the role of Indian Prime Minister. He still has a couple of schedules left for the Prithviraj directorial ‘Lucifer’. ‘Marakkar Arabikadalinte Simham’ with Priyadarshan is set to go on floors in November. The magnum opus ‘Randamoozham’ is also in the pipeline.

Famous action choreographer Kaecha Kampakdee signed for Dileep’s next

As we had reported earlier, Dileep is starring in a 3D film, Professor Dinkan. The movie directed by veteran cinematographer-turned-filmmaker Ramachandra Babu is an ambitious film made on a lavish budget. Rafi has scripted the movie which has Dileep playing the lead role of a magician. The team has already finished a couple of schedule and works are still progressing.

The makers have signed renowned action choreographer Kaecha Kampakdee to helm the stunts. He is popular for his works in movies like Thuppakki, Bhaagi, Vishwaroopam, Aarambam, Billa 2 Baahubali 2 etc. He is also part of Mammootty’s epic film Mamaankam. His work in Professor Dinkan will be totally different from what he has done so far as the movie, according to sources, is not an action-entertainer but a spectacle-heavy one.

Professor Dinkan’s story revolves around an ambitious magician whose aim is to astonish the world with a risky magic trick. But one such attempts fails miserably and ends up affecting a lot of people. How he tries to patch up with the people and undo the damage through minor magic tricks forms the plot. Recently, the makers had reworked the script to suit the family audience.

There are also reports about the 3D team of 2.0 working in Professor Dinkan. Director Ramachandra Babu is a veteran who has cranked camera for over 100 films in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Arabic and English languages. With such a vast experience behind him, the veteran will be ensuring to deliver the best possible output for his directorial debut. The movie is being produced by Sanal Thottam under the banner of New TV.

Odiyan trailer to be released tomorrow!!

Odiyan is one film Malayalis across the world are eagerly looking forward to. The movie is gearing up to hit screens on December 14. It was already informed that the trailer will be screened in theatres playing Kayamkulam Kochunni, which is scheduled for release this Thursday (October 11). The latest we hear is that the trailer will be released online tomorrow. It will later be screened alongside Kayamkulam Kochunni.

Odiyan directed by VA Shrikumar Menon has Mohanlal playing the role of Manikyan, someonr who is mastered in Odividya. National award winner Harikrishnan has scripted the movie based on the life of odiyans. Their stories are popular in Kerala’s folklore. This is the first time a movie is being made based on odiyans, which has raised the curiosity among the audience. The movie also stars Prakash Raj and Manju Warrier in major roles.

Meanwhile, the makers have planned a brief three day long patch up shoot. A few portions involving Mohanlal and other artists will be shoot on 17, 18 and 19th of this month in Kochi. After that Mohanlal will be joining the sets of Lucifer.

IM Vijayan to make his production debut with a football based film

Ever since the release of ‘Captain’, the biopic of late Indian footballer VP Sathyan, there have been talks about a similar biopic on IM Vijayan, unarguably one of the finest footballers that the country has ever produced. While talks about his biopic are yet to settle down, Vijayan has announced his new production company. His banner has been named as ‘Big Daddy Entertainment’. His close friends Arun Thomas and Deepu Damodar are also part of the company.

In a brief note posted on his official Facebook handle, Vijayan has informed that works for their maiden venture have already started. He also confirmed that the first film to come out of the banner will be a football based one. Earlier, there were reports about Nivin Pauly starring in IM Vijayan’s biopic and Arun Gopy of ‘Ramaleela’ directing it. The director had also shared a photo taken with the footballer in social medias, which fueled the speculations. As of now, we will have to wait for a confirmation.

IM Vijayan is one of the most famous Indian players to have walked on a football field. Popularly known as the ‘kala hiran’ or ‘black pearl of India’, Vijayan was crowned Indian Player of the Year in 1993, 1997 and 1999. Starting from a humble background as a soda seller in football grounds, Vijayan eventually became the highest earning Indian footballer of his time. His journey from rags to riches is a truly inspiring story and it deserves to be told on screen.

Dulquer Salmaan is currently busy shooting for his Hindi film, The Zoya Factor. The movie is based on Anuja Chauhan’s 2008 best seller novel of the same name. Dulquer and Sonam Kapoor play the lead roles in the movie. Abhishek Sharma, who has helmed movies like The Shaukeens and Tere Bin Laden, is directing the movie. A few location stills featuring Dulquer have gone viral in social medias.

Zoya Factor, the novel is centred around Zoya Singh Solanki, a PR executive. Zoya was born on the exact moment when the Indian cricket team won the 1983 World Cup. She is considered as a lucky charm by the Indian team and media. While everyone consider her lucky, team’s captain Nikhil Khoda doesn’t believe in it and he is always at loggerheads with Zoya. She keeps clashing with the Indian skipper, and what follows is a love-hate relationship.

Sonam Kapoor is playing the role of Zoya while Dulquer Salmaan essyas captain Nikhil Khoda’s role in the movie. Prior to the movie’s shoot, Dulquer had taken up basic cricket coaching prior to play his part. Fox Star Studios and Adlabs Films are jointly funding the movie which is scheduled as an April release, next year.

Lijo Jose Pellissery’s ‘Angamaly Diaries’ (AD) is one of the most talked about Malayalam movies in recent years. Releasing last year, the movie emerged as a massive success both critically and commercially. The movie won rave reviews from all corners for its realistic treatment and the fabulous performances. It went on to be talked about highly in the non-Malayali film circles as well. It was celebrated nationally with acclaimed filmmakers like Anurag Kashyap, Bejoy Nambiar, Karthik Subbaraj, Pa Ranjith etc. heaping praise.

An year after its release, ‘Angamaly Diaries’ is now getting remade in Hindi. Vikram Malhotra, who has produced films like ‘Airlift’ and ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ has bagged the remake rights. The director has not yet been finalized. While the original sparked freshness with its 86 member all-new star cast, the remake will be a mix of newcomers and establish actors. AD’s director Lijo Jose Pellissery will also be part of the team as creative consultant. The makers are planning to go on floors early next year.

Earlier, there were reports about ‘Angamaly Diaries’ getting a Telugu version, with actor Vishwak Sen in the lead role. However, there were no further updates about the project.

Last day, a surprise announcement was made by the makers through their social media handle. Megastar Mammootty is playing a major role in ‘Pathinettam Padi’. His character named John Abraham Palackal is the mastermind of all the proceedings. It is an extended cameo role and the star’s presence has created quite a buzz in social medias. Fans as well as cine buffs are eagerly waiting to know more about the movie and his character details. It has been confirmed that there will be some other big stars in the cast. Though the official announcement is yet to be made, movie lovers are already excited about it.

Pathinettam Padi’s lead cast includes youngsters from all 14 districts of the state. The makers had earlier organized an action workshop for the newcomers, which had caught media attention. Kaecha Kampakdee, one of Indian cinema’s leading stunt choreographers was brought in to train the actors.

Newcomers Anwar Ali, Shajeer Sha and Shajeer Jaleel have jointly scripted this movie. Sunny Wayne plays the role of a chef in the movie. His character names Sathyan is a lazy guy working in a village resort who likes to hang around with his friends all the time. Since the time period is different, the actor sports a new look in the movie. His costumes and looks have all been deisgned accordingly. The movie promises to explore a different dimension of Sunny Wayne, the actor. Newbie Arya Salim has been paired with him.

Chemban Vinod Jose and veteran actor Lal are also essaying major roles in the movie. Sasi Kallinga, Vishnu, Lukman Lukku, Noby, Merin Jose Pottackal, Unnimaya Prasad and Krishna are also part of the movie’s supporting cast.

Pappinu has cranked the camera in French Viplavam while Deepu Joseph is handling the edits. Prashanth Pillai is composing music for the movie. French Viplavam is being produced by Shajeer Jaleel and Jafar Khan under the banner of Abba Creations. The movie is slated to hit screens on October 26.

After two years of waiting, National award winner Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s Super Deluxe is finally getting ready for release. The movie, which is said to be an anthology, has an ensemble star cast led by Fahadh Faasil, Vijay Sethupathi, Samantha, Mysskin, Gayatri and Ramya Krishnan. As informed earlier, the first look has been released today in social medias. All the lead actors feature in the poster.

Super Deluxe is a highly anticipated film. Thiagarajan Kumararaja enjoys a huge fan following. His debut film, Aaranya Kaandam, was a cult-hit and went on to bag a couple of National awards. Expectations are naturally high as he is making a comeback after an eight year long gap.

All the actors have pinned high hopes on Super Deluxe. Samantha, Fahadh Faasil and Vijay Sethupathi have repeatedly said this in their interviews. Vijay Sethupathi plays the role of a transgender in one of the segments in the movie. Other than that, nothing much is known about the genre or the character details and that itslef has raised the audience’s curiosity.

Super Deluxe also has some of the finest technicians of South Indian cinema working in it. Directors Mysskin and Nalan Kumarasamy are penning the movie’s dialogues. PS Vinod, noted for his work in several hit Bollywood movies, is the cinematographer and Yuvan Shankar Raja handles the music department.
