‘Abrahaminte Santhathikal’ team to reunite!

Mammootty starrer ‘Abrahaminte Santhathikal’ is one of the biggest hits in Mollywood this year. The movie directed by Shaji Padoor enjoyed a theatrical run of over hundred days. Joby George produced the movie under his banner Goodwill Entertainment.

It was Mammootty’s second film with the banner after ‘Kasaba’ in 2016. In a note written on his Facebook page, Joby George has thanked the almighty for the huge success of ‘Abrahaminte Santhathikal’. He also added that his banner’s association with Mammootty will continue in the future. He has promised that they will be coming together soon for a much bigger project.

Mammootty meanwhile has his kitty full with a handful of projects. He is currently shooting for ‘Madura Raja’ with Vysakh. After that he will be joining the sets of ‘Unda’, directed by ‘Anuraga Karikkin Vellam’ fame Khalid Rahman. He also has a couple of schedules left for the YSR biopic ‘Yatra’ and the period flick ‘Maamankam’. ‘Ameer’ with Vinod Vijayan is another project in the pipeline.

Recently, there were reports about Dulquer sharing screen space with superstar Venkatesh in his next Telugu film. Latest buzz is that editor-turned-filmmaker Mahesh Narayanan would be directing this movie. Mahesh’s directorial debut ‘Take Off’ was a widely acclaimed film that won numerous awards at the state and national level. An official confirmation about his next is still awaited.

After carving a niche for himself in Mollywood, Dulquer Salmaan is currently in the process of gaining a foothold in other industries. Post the success of ‘Mahanati’, the actor confirmed that he has signed for a new movie in Telugu. Though he refused to divulge any details, it is said that his movie with Venkatesh will be a war epic film.

Reportely, a popular production house based in Tollywood will be bankrolling the movie. It is being planned to be made as a multilingual in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. Apparently, Dulquer and Venkatesh have already met a couple of times to discuss about the script. An official announcement is expected to be made very shortly.

Dulquer is currently shooting for his second Hindi film ‘The Zoya Factor’, that has him paired with Sonam Kapoor. He will be next joining the second schedule of BC Noufal’s ‘Oru Yamandan Premakadha’. He also has a romantic travelogeue ‘Vaan’ with debutant Ra Karthik coming up in Tamil. Dulquer’s next release will be ‘Kannum Kannum Kollai Adithaal’, directed by debutant Desingh Periyasamy.

It is already known that Tovino Thomas is playing the lead in award winning filmmaker Salim Ahamed’s next titled ‘And The Oscar Goes To’. As it is presumable from the title, the movie is about the world of cinema. Tovino Thomas plays the role of a struggling filmmaker in this movie. Anu Sithara and a foreign actress will be seen as the female leads.

Shoot for the movie is currently processing in Canada. Tovino and the whole crew are braving chilling temperature to complete the shoot. The actor had shared a few photos from his Canada visit in his social media handle. A section of medias reported that the actor is having fun and enjoying his vacation. However, director Salim Ahamed has clarified that they are not on a holiday but toiling hard while shooting in extremely cold climate. He also thanked his dynamic crew for their dedication and commitment.

Salim Ahamed is known for his acclaimed films like ‘Adaminte Makan Abu’ and ‘Pathemari’. He has scripted ‘And The..’ after being inspired by the real lives of aspiring filmmakers. Madhu Ambat is cranking the camera and Bijibal handles the music department. Resul Pookutty has been signed for sound design and mixing. After completing the ongoing schedule in Canada, the team will be returning back to Kerala for the next leg of shoot.

Simtaangaran: Sarkar song crosses 5 million views in record time!

As informed by the makers, the first song from Vijay’s Sarkar was released last evening in social medias. AR Rahman has composed this dance number that supposedly features Vijay and lead actress Keerthy Suresh. Meastro AR Rahman has composed the song and lyrics is penned by Vivekh of ‘Aalaopraan Tamizhan’ fame. From the initial response in social medias, it looks like the song is a hit among the fans. It has some quirky lyrics and moves at a peculiar tempo. Just like AR Rahman’s other songs, this one is also expected to be turn out good in repeated hearings.

Sarkar marks Vijay’s third outing with director AR Murugadoss after the blockbuster success of Kaththi and Thuppakki. Unlike their earlier films, Sarkar is a political thriller featuring Vijay in the role of a multi-millionaire. Reports suggest that the movie discusses the current political scenario in the state of Tamil Nadu.

Sarkar has Keerthy Suresh paired with Vijay while Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar also plays a very prominent character. Pala Karuppaiah, Radha Ravi, Livingston, Yogi Babu, Prem and many others are also part of the movie’s supporting cast. Its technical team includes AR Rahman, Malayali cinematographer Girish Gangadharan and ace editor Sreekar Prasad.

Sun Pictures is making their comeback to production by funding this big ticket film. The makers are planning to host a grand audio launch function next month. The movie is slated for a worldwide release this Diwali, in November.

It is already known that ‘Anuraga Karikkin Vellam’ (AKV) fame Khalid Rahman’s next with Mammootty. The movie titled as ‘Unda’ has the veteran star playing a police officer. While it was widely believed that the movie is an action-packed mass entertainer, the makers have confirmed it as an action-comedy. According to producer Krishnan Sethukumarr, ‘Unda’ is a new attempt which is completely in contrast to Khalid’s debut film, ‘AKV’.

The makers have planned ‘Unda’ as a complete entertainer with Mammootty appearing as a fun cop avatar. It is said that the actor has not something like this before in his four-decade-long career. Along with him, the movie also has Shine Tom Chacko, Jacob Gregory, Sudhi Koppa, Arjun Ashokan, Dileesh Pothan, and Alencier Ley Lopez in supporting roles.

Unda also has a solid technical crew. ‘Jigarthanda’ fame Gavemic U Ary will be cranking the camera and Prashanth Pillai will be handling the music department. For action choreography, the makers have signed Sham Kaushal from Bollywood. Khalid Rahman has penned the story and screenplay is by Harshad.

‘Unda’ is set to go on floors by October thrid week. The movie has been planned to be shot in exotic locations in North Indian states like Chattisgarh and Jharkhand. This particular terrian has not been explored much in Malayalam cinema and so the movie promises to be a refreshing experience

Priyadarshan’s magnum opus Marakkar – Arabikadalinte Simham is a hugely hyped movie. This epic film is planned to be made on a budget of Rs 100 crores. Since the budget involved is huge, the makers are planning it as a multi-lingual with actors from all major Indian film industries. Mohanlal is playing the lead role while other stars like Pranav Mohanlal, Prabhu, Arjun and Suneil Shetty are also confirmed in the cast.

Marakkar.. is based on the life of Kunjali Marakkar IV. Kunjali Marakkar was the title given to the naval chief in the 16th century, whose duty was to protect the coast against the invading Portuguese army. There were four key Kunjali Marakkars during that era. This upcoming movie’s story is reportedly based on the fourth Marakkar. His life apparently had the most interesting elements.

While Mohanlal plays the fourth Marakkar, his son Pranav will be playing the younger part of his character. It is a cameo role but comes at a very crucial juncture in the storyline. Latest buzz is that Priyadarshan’s daughter Kalyani will be playing Pranav’s pair in the movie. Kalyani and Pranav have been close friends for years and the former has even expressed her wish to act together. It will be interesting to see how the two friends perform on-screen.

After starting her career in cinema as an assistant art director in Irumugan, Kalyani moved to acting. She made her debut with the Telugu movie Hello, which emerged as a big hit. Markkar.. will be her debut outing in Malayalam. The movie reportedly has four heroines and the makers are also in talks with Manju Warrier and Keerthy Suresh, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Details about the entire cast is expected to be officially announced shortly.

Mohanlal-Priyadarashan team’s ambitious project, Marakkar – Arabikadalinte Simham is getting ready to start rolling in November.Pre-production works including casting process is currently in the final phase. Almost all the major actors have been confirmed. Latest reports suggest that Manju Warrier will be playing one of the heroines in the movie. If it turns out to be true, this will be her eighth outing with Mohanlal after sharing screen space with him in films like Aaraam Thampuran, Kanmadam, Villain etc. The duo will also be seen together in Odiyan and Lucifer.

Priyadarshan is assembling a massive star cast for Marakkar. Pranav Mohanlal, Prabhu, Arjun, Suneil Shetty, Madhu, Renji Panicker, Siddique and Nedumudi Venu are already confirmed in the movie. The makers are also in talks with South cinema’s current sensation Keerthy Suresh, but an official word is yet to be made. Besides the aforementioned, Arabic and Chinese actors will also be part of the cast.

Marakkar is an epic project based on the life of Kunjali Marakkar IV. The story is set in the 15th century and will be shot mostly in the backdrop of sea. Massive set works are currently progressing in Ramoji Rao, Film City in Hyderabad. Multiple National award winner Sabub Cyril is handling the production design. Aashirvad Cinema, Moonshot Entertainment and Confident Group are jointly investing a whopping Rs 100 crores for this project.

As we already know, Vikram’s son Dhruv is making his acting debut with ‘Varma’, the official Tamil remake of Telugu blockbuster ‘Arjun Reddy’. The movie’s first look and teaser were launched recently on Dhruv’s birthday (September 23). While the feedback about Dhruv’s performance and looks have been mixed, the youngster has won hearts with a very kind gesture. He has donated his first film salary entirely to the Kerala Chief Minister Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF).

Kerala recently witnessed its worst floods in hundred years and the state is still reviving from the disaster. Apart from Dhurv, many other celebrities from film industries across the country have contributed generously towards the CMDRF. Dhruv personally visited state Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Thiruvananthapuram and handed over the cheque.

‘Varma’ is directed by National award winner Bala. From the teaser, it looks like a scene by scene remake of ‘Arjun Reddy’ with an extra character addition in the maid’s role played by Eeswari Rao. Megha Chowdhary and Raiza Wilson play the two female leads. It is the maiden Tamil production venture of Mollywood’s leading banner, E4 Entertainment.

The movie was officially announced recently with a title poster introducing the crew. Though the cast is yet to be revealed, the makers have assembled a solid technical team. Gavemic U Ary will be cranking the camera and Prashanth Pillai will be handling the music department. For action choreography, the makers have signed Sham Kaushal from Bollywood.

Sham Kaushal is well known in B-Town circles for his works in films like ‘Dangal’, ‘Krrish 3’ and ‘Bhajrangi Bhaijaan’. Some of his other noted works include ‘Gunday’, ‘Padmaavat’, Bajirao Mastani, ‘Dhoom 3’ and ‘Phantom’. He has also won quite a few awards like IIFA and Filmfare. With ‘Unda’, Sham is making his debut in Malayalam and we can expect to see some power-packed action sequences.

Khalid Rahman has penned the story of ‘Unda’ and screenplay is by Harshad. The director’s debut film, ‘Anuraga Karikkin Vellam’ was a delightful family oriented rom-com, that was both a critical and commercial hit. Much is expected of him when he teams up with a big star like Mammootty.

Confirmed: Here’s the much-awaited release date of Trance

Fahadh Faasil is currently on a high with the smashing success of his latest release, Varathan. The actor has some other exciting projects coming up and the most anticipated among them is Trance. The movie marks the comeback of Anwar Rasheed as a director after a five-year-long gap. Trance went on floors in mid-2017 but still has a few more schedules left. After a lot of speculations, the makers have finally confirmed that the movie will hit screens on March 22, 2019.

Trance is shaping up as the most expensive film in Fahadh Faasil’s career. It is reportedly being made on a budget of Rs 18 crores, which is quite a big figure considering the limitations of Malayalam film industry. The director himself is funding this movie under his banner Anwar Rasheed Entertainment.

Trance has some big names associated with it like Oscar award winner Resul Pookkutty and Amal Neerad. The former is handling the sound design while Amal Neerad cranks the camera. The movie has a big star cast as well, which includes Vinayakan, Soubin Shahir, Vedhika, Sreenath Bhasi, director Alphonse Puthren and Chemban Vinod Jose. Trance is scripted by newbie Vincent Vadakkan and debutant Jackson Vijayan is in charge of the music department.
