Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil enters second successful week of theatrical run!

Angamaly Diaries fame Antony Varghese’s new movie Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil has successfully entered its second week of theatrical run. Releasing on March 31, the movie opened to great response from the audience, which includes both critics and the commoners. Tinu Pappachan, a former associate of Lijo Jose Pellissery has directed this movie.

Despite facing stiff competition from other Easter releases like Sudani From Nigeria, Vikadakumaran, Kuttanadan Marpappa and Parole, Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil has managed to hold steady at the box office. General talk in social medias is highly positive and the word of mouth is pulling more audience to theatres this holiday season.

Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil scripted by newcomer Dileep Kurian is a prison-break thriller, perhaps the first of its kind in Malayalam cinema. Tinu Pappachan’s stylish making backed with good performances from the lead actors have worked well with the audience, especially the youth. It is an edge-of-the-seat thriller with loads of action and mass moments.

Vinayakan, Chemban Vinod Jose, Rajesh Sharma, Lijo Jose Pellissery, Tito Wilson, few actors from Angamaly Diaries and a bunch of newcomers are part of the movie’s supporting cast. Technical crew comprises of cinematographer Girish Gangadharan and editor Shameer Muhammed. Songs are composed by Jakes Bejoy while background score is handled by Deepak Alexander.

Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil is produced by BC Joshi and is presented by director B Unnikrishnan. Lijo Jose Pellissery and Chemban Vinod Jose are also part of the team as co-producers.
As per our sources from within the industry, the movie is most likely to get a Tamil version. The makers are planning to cast actor Jeeva as the lead in the remake. A special screening has been arranged for him, after which the announcement is expected to be made. If reports are to be believed, Tinu Pappachan will be directing the Tamil version as well.

Yatra: Here’s the theme poster of Mammootty’s new Telugu movie!

As we had reported earlier, Mammootty is playing the lead in late Andhra Pradesh Cheif Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s biopic. The movie titled as ‘Yatra’ is directed by Mahi Raghav, who has made movies like Paathshala and Anando Brahma. A theme poster of the movie was released by the makers in social medias. The poster has a caption which reads, “He wanted to leave a footprint in history, instead he left one in the hearts of people”

Reportedly, Yatra is officially commencing this Monday (April 9). The makers are planning to complete shooting and post-production formalities in six months and release the film either in December or January 2019. While Mammootty has been confirmed for YSR’s role, the makers are yet to make an announcement about the actors who will be playing the other crucial roles.

YS Rajasekhara Reddy, popularly known as YSR, is one of the most politicians that Andhra Pradesh has ever seen. YSR died in an air crash in 2009 after the helicopter carrying him crashed in a dense forest. He was so popular that hundreds of his followers committed suicide upon hearing his death. Yatra will showcase some of the important aspects of his life and his political journey.

According to director Mahi Raghav, Yatra is an event-based film which primarily focuses on the time during YSR’s three-month-long padayatra in 2003. The padayatra was a defining moment in his career which transformed him into a people’s leader. Yatra is being produced jointly by Vijay Chilla and Shashi Devi under the banner of 70MM Entertainments.

Vineeth Sreenivasan’s next as a lead actor, ‘Aravindante Athidhikal’ is gearing up for release next month. The movie directed by M Mohanan is tipped to be a feel good entertainer. As informed earlier, the second song from the movie was released today by the makers through their official Facebook page. The hit combo of Vineeth Sreenivasan and Shaan Rahman have come together once again for this soulful song titled ‘Rasathi’. BK Harinarayanan has penned the lyrics for this melodious track.

Aravindante Athithikal scripted by newcomer Rajesh Raghavan is set in the premises of the famous Mookambika Temple in Kollur. Vineeth Sreenivasan plays Aravindan, an orphan who was raised by Madhavan, the owner of Mookambika Vilasam lodge. The movie explores Aravindan’s relationship with his guests and his wait for his long lost mother.

Nikhila Vimal of ’24×7 Love’ fame plays the female lead. The movie has a big supporting cast which includes seasoned actors like Urvashi, Shanthi Krishna, KPAC Lalitha, Vijayaraghavan, Aju Varghese, Biju Kuttan, Salim Kumar, Prem Kumar, Kottayam Nazeer and Baiju among others.

Aravindante Athidhikal’s technical crew includes cinematographer Sawroop Philip, composer Shaan Rahman and veteran editor Ranjan Abraham. Pradeep Kumar Pathiyara is producing the movie under the banner of Pathiyara Entertainment Pvt Ltd. The makers have officially announced that the movie will be hitting screens on April 27.

As we had reported earlier, veteran actor Anupam Kher is playing the lead in the biopic of former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. The movie titled ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ is directed by debutant Vijay Ratnakar Gutte. Hansal Mehta is scripting the movie based on Sanjaya Baru’s book, The Accidental Prime Minister : The Making and Unmaking of Manmohan Singh.

Last day, Anupam Kher took to his official social media handle to share a few stills from the movie. With the turban, beard and glasses, Anupam Kher has a striking resemblance to Manmohan Singh. Shoot for the movie has just commenced in London.

The movie is being made as a political drama that traces the making and unmaking of former prime minister of India Manmohan Singh. Akshay Khanna is playing a crucial role as Sanjaya Baru, who was the former PM media advisor from 2004 to 2008 The Accidental Prime Minister is slated to hit screens on December 21.

As we had reported earlier, ‘Ramaleela’ fame Arun Gopy is directing Pranav Mohanlal next. Tomichan Mulakupadam is producing the movie under his banner Mulakupadam Films. This upcoming movie is said to be an romantic-action entertainer. The makers had informed that a debutante will be cast as Pranav’s heroine in the movie.

Casting call for the female lead was released last day by director Arun Gopy through his official Facebook page. The makers are looking for girls from the age group of 18-24. Those interested can mail their unedited photos, contact details and an one minute video showcasing their talent to mulakuppadamcasting@arungopymovies.com. Entries should be submitted before April 18 and the auditions will be held on April 21. The first round of auditions was held in Dubai last month.

Meanwhile, location scouting and other pre-production works for the movie are underway. Official announcement of the movie’s title and details regarding the full cast and crew is expected to be made very soon. It is reported that the movie will start rolling in Kochi by July. Apparently, the makers are planning to wrap up the shoot by November to ensure a grand release for this year’s Christmas season.

Thalapathy 62: Vijay’s upcoming movie with AR Murugadoss is a political thriller!!

Vijay’s upcoming movie with AR Murugadoss, tentatively titled Thalapathy 62, one of the most anticipated Tamil films of the year. This is their third outing together after then blockbuster success of Kaththi and Thuppakki. Both the movies did a business of over Rs 100 crores hence expectations are high for the duo’s next outing as well.

Interestingly, Thalapathy 62 is a political thriller. Director AR Murugadoss himself has scripted the movie, and dialogues are penned by noted writer Jeyamohan, who is also the co-writer of 2.O. According to some trustworthy reports, the movie has some heavy dose of politics and will showcase the issues pertaining in both cities and the village side.

Pala Karuppaiah, a politician in real life, is playing one in the movie as well. Veteran actor Radha Ravi essays the role of a MLA. Along with them, Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar is also playing a brief but very crucial role. These three actors are said to be the antagonists in the movie.

Raw and realistic fights choreographed by Ram-Laxman duo will be another major highlight of the movie. Interestingly, the makers had suggested to shoot the movie outside Tamil Nadu as the script demanded a lot of outdoor shoot. But Vijay insisted to shoot in and around Chennai itself to ensure labour for the local workers.

Sun Pictures is producing this big budget movie which has music by maestro AR Rahman. The much awaited title and first look poster are expected to be revealed very soon.

Shoot for Megastar Mammootty’s Oru Kuttanadan Blog is currently underway. Noted scriptwriter Sethu is turning an independent director with this movie, which is tipped to be a rural based fun entertainer. Anu Sithara, Raai Laxmi and Shamna Kasim play the three female leads in the movie.

A selfie taken by Mammootty with the three lead ladies is trending virally in social medias. The movie has Mammootty playing Hari, a popular blogger in his locality, while Shamna’s character Neena is a police officer. The core plot of Oru Kuttanadan Blog is set in a fictional village named Krishnapuram.

The movie is narrated interestingly through various episodes of a blog. Nedumudi Venu, Siddique, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Jude Anthany Joseph, Sanju Sivaram and Adil Ibrahim form the movie’s supporting cast. Actor Unni Mukundan is also involved in the movie’s making as an associate director. Apparently, he has adjusted dates from his busy acting schedule to assist director Sethu.

Oru Kuttanadan Blog will be shot extensively in Alappuzha and nearby areas. Pradeep Nair is the cinematographer and ‘Idea Star Singer’ fame Sreenath Sivasankaran is debuting as a composer with this movie. It is being produced by Muraleedharan and Santha Muraleedharan under the banner of Anantha Vision.

I feel lucky to share screen space with Mammukka in Parole: Iniya

Mammootty’s highly anticipated movie Parole is hitting screens today (April 6). The movie directed by debutant Sharrath Sandith is touted to be an intense family drama. Mammootty is playing the role of ‘sakhav’ Alex while Iniya plays his wife Annie and Miya George essays the role of his sister.

In a recent interview, Iniya opened up about her experience working in Parole and her admiration for Mammootty. Though Iniya has acted in Mammootty’s Puthan Panam last year, they did not have any combination scenes in it. But Parole has her in a solid role that offers her good scope for performance.

Iniya’s character Annie is a typical ‘achayathi’ hailing from a rural area. In order to get the looks of a middle aged mother, Iniya put on a few kilos prior to the commencement of shoot. She chose to act in Parole after being impressed with her character and the storyline. About working with Mammootty, she feels lucky to share screen space with him. Mammootty also helped her with dialogue delivery and improvisation during the shoot.

Parole is scripted by Ajith Poojappura, who was a jailer in real life. He scripted the movie based on some real life incidents, which has piqued a lot of curiosity among the audience. The movie has a huge set of supporting actors like ‘Baahubali’ fame Prabhakar, Siddique, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Krishna Kumar, Irshad, Sijoy Varghese, Sohan Seenulal, Lalu Alex, Sudheer Karamana, Alencier Ley Lopez and Muthumani.

The movie is being produced by Antony D’Cruz Entertainment and Century Films is releasing it in Kerala.

Shoot for Saamy Square, the sequel of Vikram’s 2003 superhit movie Saamy, is nearing its final stages. Hari, who helmed the first part, is directing the sequel as well. Keerthy Suresh is playing the female lead the movie which has National award winner Bobby Simha as the antagonist.

Last day, the makers released a few stills from the movie which are trending virally in social medias. Vikram is all fit and dapper in his no-nonsense cop look. If reports are to be believed, Vikram plays a dual role in the movie, as Aarusaamy and his son, who is also a cop.

A few leaked posters has led to speculations that Bobby Simha is playing the role of Ravana Pichai, the son of Perumal Pichai, who was the villain in the first part. Saamy Square promsies to be a typical Hari film with the mass masala formula. Prabhu, Delhi Ganesh, John Vijay, Soori and Imman Annachi are also part of the supporting cast.

A Venkatesh has taken over the cinematography after the passing away of Priyan. Devi Sri Prasad is in charge of the music department. Shibu Thameens, who previously produced Vikram’s Irumugan, is funding Saamy Square under the banner of Thameens Films.
