Nayanthara is busy as ever with a slew of projects in her kitty. The first look poster of her upcoming movie Kolamaavu Kokila aka Co Co was released last day through social medias. Nayanthara alone features in this intriguing first look poster. The movie marks the directorial debut of Nelson Dilipkumar, who was the creative director of the Bigg Boss Tamil show. He had earlier made a movie titled Vettai Mannan with Simbu, Hansika and Jai in the lead roles but it got shelved due to some unknown reasons.

Kolamaavu Kokila aka Co Co is a heroine-centric film with Nayanthara playing the titular role. Saranya Ponvannan, Yogi Babu, Jacqueline and Nisha will be seen in supporting roles in this movie, touted to be an quirky comedy drama. Young sensation Anirudh Ravichander is handling the music department. Lyca Productions, one of the most leading banners in Kollywood, is funding this movie.

Nayanthara also has Ajay Gnanamuthu’s Imaikka Nodigal, Chakri Toleti’s Kolaiyudhir Kaalam, Ajith’s Viswasam, Nivin Pauly’s Love Action Drama and Sarjun’s untitled horror flick coming up this year.

Dileesh Pothan’s next is with Megastar Mammootty!!

Dileesh Pothan is now an indispensable part of the Malayalam film industry. He has directed two outstanding movies – Maheshinte Prathikaram and Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum – while also playing supporting roles in numerous movies. Though Pothan is just two-film-old, he is a much revered filmmaker and his movies are widely discussed in social media platforms.

Ever since the release of Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, the director has constantly been asked about his next movie; but he has remained tight-lipped all this while. We now hear that Pothan is planning to direct Megastar Mammootty in his next movie. Another interesting thing about this movie is that actor Suraj Venjaramoodu will be scripting it jointly with Syam Pushkaran.

Suraj has worked with Mammootty in numerous films and they both share a great rapport. In fact, Suraj first came to limelight by helping Mammootty with the Trivandrum dialect in the movie Rajamanikyam. Suraj also played one of the leads in Dileesh Pothan’s Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, so he surely knows the director’s working style. It will be really interesting to see what Suraj, Pothan and Syam Pushkaran have in store for Mammootty. We are still waiting for an official confirmation.

Meanwhile, Dileesh Pothan and Syam Pushkaran along with Fahadh Faasil are starting a new production company. Their maiden venture, ‘Kumbalangi Nights’ is being scripted by Syam Pushkaran and will be directed by Madhu C Narayanan, a former associate of Dileesh and Aashiq Abu. The movie is expected to start rolling very soon.

Shoot for Vijay’s upcoming movie with AR Murugadoss, tentatively titled Thalapathy 62, is currently progressing in Chennai. The movie marks the comeback of Sun Pictures to production after a long gap. Keerthy Suresh plays the female lead in the movie which has its music composed by AR Rahman.

Sun Pictures, through their Twitter handle, have made a breaking announcement today. Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar has been signed to play a crucial role. This announcement is a pleasant gift for the actress who is celebrating her birthday today.

Varalaxmi is well known for her bold roles in movies like Tharai Thappattai, Vikram Vedha, Nibunan, Sathya etc. Unlike other heroines, Varalaxmi has done many grey shaded and negative roles that offer her scope for performance. It remains to be seen if she plays a similar role in Thalapathy 62 as well.

AR Murugadoss has scripted the movie for which dialogues are penned by Jeyamohan, the co-writer of 2.0. Vijay is said to be playing a millionaire’s role in the movie. It is probably the first time that Vijay is playing such a character as he is mostly offered roles that are easily relatable to the commoners.

‘Vikram Vedha’ Prem, Radha Ravi, politician Pala Karuppiah and Yogi Babu have already been confirmed as part of the cast. The technical crew includes cinematographer Girish Gangadharan and editor Sreekar Prasad. Title and first look will be revealed officially very soon.

Much to the disappointment of movie lovers across the country, the teaser of Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 was leaked online last day. The makers had been working hard to get the possible output but the unfortunate teaser leak shook them. The 1.26 minute video is still trending virally in social medias.

Following the teaser leak, the makers have now released a new video which gives glimpses of the extraordinary VFX works that have gone into the movie’s making. Even the leaked teaser had some stunning visuals, a kind that Indian cinema has not seen before.

Akshay Kumar, director Shankar, national award-winning VFX supervisor Srinivas Mohan and some internationally renowned VFX artists feature in the video and explain about the process that has gone behind the making. VFX and animatronic works are handled by various companies from more than ten countries. Legacy Effects, Tau Films, Quantum FX and Double Negative are all involved in the post-production process.

2.0 is one film that the whole nation is eagerly looking forward to. The first part Enthiran aka Robot was a massive hit across the country. This time the expectations are multifold as two of Indian cinema’s biggest superstars, Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar, are coming together for the first time.

Shankar has scripted the movie jointly with Jeyamohan. Many internationally acclaimed technicians are associated in the movie’s technical side. AR Rahman is composing the music and Resul Pookkutty is in charge of the sound design. Legacy Effects, who have worked in movies like Avengers, Jurassic Park, Iron Man etc are working on the animatronics department.

The movie is expected to hit screens sometime this year.

Suriya fans have been eagerly waiting for the first look of his upcoming movie directed by Selvaraghavan. Putting an end to their wait, the makers have released the official first look through their social media handle. The movie has been titled as NGK and its poster is designed like a graffiti.

Suriya’s look instantly reminds one of the legendary Cuban revolutionary leader Che Guevera. The fist pumps in the graffiti, which was a rebellious art form used to talk about the oppressed community, gives indications of a political film. But, the makers are yet to reveal the genre or other details.

Suriya and Selvaraghavan are teaming up for the first time and the hype is naturally huge. Selvaraghavan is well known for his films like Kaadhal Kondein, 7G Rainbow Colony, Pudhupettai, Mayakkam Enna etc. He commands a huge fan following among the Tamil cinema audience. Him teaming up with Suriya is a matter of excitement not just for the fans, but for the common audience as well.

Tamil film industry has always been welcoming of Malayali actors, especially heroines. Urvashi, Shobana, Asin, Nayanthara and more recently Keerthy Suresh have all found a special place in the hearts of Tamil audience. Arthana is the latest Malayali actress to gradually find her feet in Kollywood.

Arthana, who made an impressive debut with Gokul Suresh’s Mudhugauv, is getting back to back offers in Tamil. After starring in Samuthirakani’s Thondan, GV Prakash’s Semma and Vennila Kabadikuzhu 2, the pretty actress has signed her fourth Tamil movie, Kadai Kutty Singam in which she is acting alongside Karthi.

The movie directed by National award winner Pandiraj has two other heroines – ‘Vanamagan’ fame Sayyeshaa and ‘Meyaadha Maan’ fame Priya Bhavani Shankar. It is a rural based family entertainer with a host of veteran actors in the cast. Bhanupriya, Sathyaraj, Viji Chandrashekar, Soori and Ponnvannan will be seen in supporting roles in the movie

Kadai Kutty Singam is also being dubbed in Telugu as Chinna Babu. The movie has its music by D Imman and cinematography is handled by Velraj. Karthi’s brother actor Suriya is funding this film under his banner 2D Entertainment.

Shoot for Arjun Reddy’s Tamil remake ‘Varma’ commenced on March 2 in Kathmandu, Nepal. The movie directed by National award winner Bala marks the acting debut of Chiyaan Vikram’s son Dhruv. Varma is also the maiden Tamil production of Mollywood’s leading banner E4 Entertainment.

Vikram who is in Nepal with his son revealed the new look of his son via his Instagram account. Similar to Vijay Deverakonda’s getup in Arjun Reddy, Dhruv also sports a bearded look. Everyone is now eager to see if Dhruv can repeat the same with the performance as well.

Arjun Reddy, released last year, was a huge success, both critically and commercially. The movie directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga tells the story of an impulsive medical surgeon, Arjun Reddy, who falls madly in love with his college junior. Arjun becomes alcoholic post break-up and the rest of the story is about how he redeems himself.

Vijay Deverakonda’s stellar performance in the movie has been rated as one of the finest in Telugu cinema in recent years. So, it will be a big challenge for Dhruv as comparisons are bound to be made with the original. Director Bala is famous for his intense style of filmmaking, with most of his films having a dark and disturbing nature. With Arjun Reddy’s remake, he is expected to showcase an unseen side of his.

Varma’s technical crew includes cinematographer Sukumar and composer Radhan, who composed the music in Arjun Reddy as welll. Dialogues are penned by Raju Murugan, who has directed acclaimed movies like Cuckoo and Joker. The makers are still tight-lipped about the female lead and other supporting cast.

Kalidas Jayaram’s Poomaram postponed yet again!

Kalidas Jayaram’s Poomaram is perhaps the only move in recent items to have seen so many release postponing. The movie directed by Abrid Shine has been in the making for nearly two years. Shoot commenced in 2016 and was supposed to hit screens by February last year. But it kept delaying due to some unknown reasons. The movie’s long delay is now a topic of trolls in social medias.

Finally, it was announced that the movie will be hitting screens on March 9 but unfortunately it has again been pushed. Kalidas himself informed it through his Facebook page. Apparently, the release has been postponed due to some unavoidable reasons but Kalidas assured that the movie will be reaching screens very soon.

Despite being under the wraps for such long time, Poomaram is still remembered by the public thanks to the trolls and the two hit tracks – ‘Njanum Njanumentalum’ and ‘Kadavathoru Thoni’. The movie promises to be a campus based youthful entertainer.

Reportedly, the movie also stars Kunchacko Boban, Meera Jasmine and Gayathri Suresh in supporting actors. Newcomer Archita Anish Kumar is playing a prominent role in the movie. Eventhough Archita is playing an integral part, she does not have any combination scenes with Kalidas Jayaram.

Cinematography is handled by Gnanam and Manoj is in charge of the edits. Gopi Sunder is handling the background score. It is jointly produced by Dr Paul Varghese and director Abrid Shine under the banner of Dr Paul’s Entertainment. Central Pictures will be releasing the movie in Kerala.

Much has been talked about this movie which marks the coming together of two of Indian cinema’s biggest superstars, Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar, for the first time. Naturally, the movie has tremendous expectations among the audience.

The team of 2.0 have been working hard to get the possible output but unfortunately the movie’s teaser was leaked online today. The 1.26 minute video is trending virally in social medias. The teaser has some mind blowing visuals, a kind that Indian cinema has not seen before. CG works are incomplete as we can clearly see the green and blue screen on many shots.

Trade analysts and many celebrities have expressed their disappointment about the leakage. Many have questioned why the makers could not prevent a leakage despite investing over Rs 400 crores for the project. This teaser leak might have a big impact in the movie’s release and revenue.

2.0’s release has been postponed multiple times citing extensive post-production works. VFX and animatronic works are handled by various organisations from more than ten countries.
