The movie will follow his life from his childhood to his 60s. The superstar is shedding his weight to play the younger part of this character.

M Jayachandran is composing the songs and Sam CS of Vikram Vedha fame has been roped in to handle the background score.

Here’s the latest update on when Mohanlal-Prithviraj duo’s Lucifer start rolling!

If there is one movie that the whole Malayalam industry is eagerly looking forward to, then it has to be Lucifer. Actor Prithviraj is turning a director with this movie which stars superstar Mohanlal in the lead. The level of expectations for this movie is humongous as two of the biggest stars in Malayalam cinema are teaming up for the first time. Murali Gopy, known for his powerful writings, is scripting this film and it will be produced under the banner of Mohanlal’s Aashirvad Cinemas.

Lucifer was officially announced last year but due to the stars’ prior commitments, it was informed that the project would go on floors only by 2018. Since Mohanlal and Prithviraj have committed for a handful of other projects, there was an uncertainty about when the project will go on floors.

Latest reports suggest that Lucifer will start rolling on May 1. Before that Mohanlal has planned to complete shoot for his ongoing Odiyan. He will be joining the sets of Ajoy Varma’s thriller and later with veteran director Bhadran for an untitled film.

Ever since Lucifer was announced, here have been several speculations about the genre and theme of this film. Prithviraj has hinted that Lucifer, like all Murali Gopy scripts, will be an intense film that demands strong performances from the actors. Murali Gopy is known for his scripts like Left Right Left, Ee Adutha Kaalathu and 1 by Two. Unlike the duo’s previous outing Tiyaan, Lucifer is a film based completely on the ground reality in Kerala.

More details regarding the cast and crew members of Lucifer are yet to be announced officially.
