Glad to be a part of C/O Saira Banu : Mohanlal

Manju Warrier starrer C/O Saira Banu was released on March and 17 to good response from the auidence especially the families. Critics have rated it as a decent watch with families. The movie is scripted by RJ Shaan and directed by debutant Antony Sony.

Apart from Manju Warrier, the movie also features yesteryear actress Amala Akkineni and Kismath fame Shane Nigam in major roles. Amala Akkineni has made a comeback to Mollywood after a gap of over two decades through this movie.

The surprise package of the movie is none other than superstar Mohanlal. Though he is not in physically present in the movie, his voice makes a strong and lasting impact. He is given his voice for the character Peter George, Shane Nigam’s (Joshua Peter) father in the movie.

The superstar has shared the trailer of the movie in his Facebook page and has written,
“Wishes to the entire team of Saira Banu. Glad that I could also be a part of the movie by giving my voice.”

Manju Warrier has played a post woman in the movie while Shane Nigam is her adopted son, Joshua Peter. He is a law college student who wishes to become a photographer just like his father (Mohanlal’s Peter George). However, fate has something else in store as he gets caught in legal issues. Amala Akkineni is seen in the role of advocate Annie John Tharavady in the movie.

Bipin Chandran has written the dialogues for the movie. Abdul Rahim has cranked the camera while Sagar Dass is in charge of the edits. Mejo Joseph is the music director. The movie is produced by Eros International.

The most anticipated trailer of director SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali: The Conclusion was released yesterday. Social media pages all over the country went into a frenzy state after the trailer release on March 16.

The trailer has fetched over 70 lakh million views from all four languages- Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi. It is already the most watched trailer in Indian cinema. Now, it has achieved the feat of becoming the most liked trailer in Indian cinema with over one million views.

The 2 minutes 20 seconds trailer is nothing short of magnificence. It gives a sneak peak into the world of Mahishmati and what’s in store for the audience this time. Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Ramya Krishnan, Nasser, Sathyaraj and Tamannah get equal spaces in this power packed trailer.

Baahubali 2 is the sequel to Baahubali : The Beginning, the nationwide blockbuster that was released in 2015. The first part is one of the highest grossing movies ever in Indian cinema. During it’s theatrical run, it registered a worldwide business of over 600 crores.

From the trailer itself, it is certain that the second part will be even better in terms of visual grandeur and top notch technical values.

The movie is currently it’s final stages of post production. It is scheduled to hit screens worldwide on April 28. The movie will release simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi.

Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni have bank rolled the movie under the banner Arka Works. United Global Media will be distributing the movie in Kerala.

Nivin Pauly is all set for his first release of the year. His highly anticipated political drama, Sakhavu is gearing up to hit screens on April 15 as a Vishu release.

Sakhavu is directed by National award winner Sidharth Siva. The movie’s official teaser was released today. Nivin is playing the role of Krishnakumar, a political leader from the Left front.

Aparna Gopinath, Gayathri Suresh and Kollywood actress Aishwarya Rajesh are playing the female leads in the movie. Sreenivasan, Maniyan Pillai Raju, Joju George and many others are also part of the cast.

Kollywood cinematographer George C Williams, who has wielded the camera in movies like Theri, Kaththi and Raja Rani is the DOP. Prashanth Pillai is handling the music department. B Rakesh has produced the movie under the banner Universal Cinema.

The actor has pinned high expectations on Sakhavu. He had earlier informed that it will be an intense movie that will stay etched with the audience for a long time. It will not be just another political drama. The movie will have equal doses of humour, romance and machismo.

We had recently told you that popular cinematographer Shamdat is turning a filmmaker through an upcoming Mammootty starrer. The movie is all set to go on floors next week in Kochi.

Mammootty will be seen as a police officer in the movie. This yet-to-be-titled movie is said to be a crime thriller and Mammootty will be seen as an investigative officer.

Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan fame Vishnu Unnikrishnan is playing a pivotal role in this movie. This movie is expected to be a major break in the actor’s budding career. Last year, he had impressed the auidence with his energetic and lively performance in the Nadirshah directorial.

The movie was a sleeper hit which went on to enjoy a theatrical run of over 100 days. Director Shamdat was the DOP in Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan. He roped in Vishnu for his debut directorial after being impressed with the youngster’s performance in the movie.

Vishu’s co-star from the movie, Lijomol Jose is also part of the Mammootty starrer. This crime thriller doesn’t have a heroine as such, as it is a tale of many characters. Kochi, Chennai and Pollachi are the major locations.

Shamdat is a renowned cinematographer noted for his works in movies like Ritu, Seniors, Oozham and the recently released Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan. He has worked with Kamal Hassan in movies like Uttama Villain and the yet to be released Vishwaroopam 2.

Suriya was in Kerala last month for the promotions of his latest release Singam 3. The actor met his fans and press people in Trivandrum. While waving to his fans he had noticed a handicapped person in the crowd and met him. The physically challenged person was a Vijay fan, who presented Suriya with a gift and asked him if he could pass it to actor Vijay. Suriya without any hesitation or ego accepted it and also promised to deliver the gift to Vijay. This nice gesture by Suriya was reported widely in online medias.

Apparently, the physically challenged fan’s gift has now reached Vijay’s hands. A member close to Suriya’s production house 2D Entertainments had personally met Vijay and handed over the present to him.

When Behindwoods contacted him, he said, “I had called Vijay sir’s manager and he arranged for a meeting with sir. I met him at the shooting spot of his ongoing film. Vijay sir received the gift with a smile and also thanked Suriya for the wonderful gesture. Since he was in a surprise new makeover, we did not click a picture.”

Vijay is currently busy shooting for his upcoming movie with Atlee. Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Kajal Agarwal and Nithya Menen are playing the female leads in the movie. The cast also includes SJ Suryah, Sathyaraj, Vadivelu, Sathyan and Kovai Sarala in important roles.

KV Vijayendra Prasad who has scripted big budget blockbusters like Baahubali and Bhajrangi Bhaijaan has written the screenplay for the movie. Academy Award winner A R Rahman is the music director while debutant GK Vishnu is handling the cinematography. Ruben is in charge of the cuts. The movie is produced by Sri Thenandal Films.

Mohanlal attended the launch of his new book ‘Gurumukhangal’ today in Thiruvanathapuram. The book is written as a tribute to all his gurus. He launched the book by presenting it to Madhu, the most senior actor in Mollywood currently.

During the event Mohanlal said that he is very fortunate to have shared screen space with some of the greatest actors like Prem Nazir, Madhu, SP Pillai, Kottarakkara Sreedharan Nair, Nagesh, Rajkumar Rao, Nageshwara Rao, MGR, Sivaji Ganesan, Gemini Ganesan, Major Soundarrajan, Manorama, Sukumari, Amitabh Bachchan and many other legends.

On the work front, Mohanlal is currently shooting for B Unnikrishnan’s Villain. He is playing an ex-cop in the movie. The actor has toned down for playing his part in the movie and is sporting a salt and pepper bearded look. Manju Warrier, Tamil actor Vishal, Telugu actor Srikanth, Raashi Khanna and Hansika Motwani are also part of the cast. This big budget movie is bank rolled by Rockline Venkatesh.

Mohanlal’s next release is 1971 Beyond Borders directed by Major Ravi. This big budget war drama is scheduled to hit screens on April 7.

SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali 2 is gearing up for a massive worldwide release on April 28. Trailer for the movie was released to massive response from the viewers. It is currently the most watched Indian trailer fetching more than 65 lakh views.

Expectations are sky-high for the movie. It has already made some whopping pre-release business. According to official reports, the film has already done a pre release business of more than Rs 500 crores.

Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni have bank rolled the movie under the banner Arka Works. Shobu Yarlagadda through his Twitter account revealed that Baahubali 2 will be released in IMAX format thus becoming the first South Indian movie to release in IMAX format.

His tweet reads,

“Excited that @BaahubaliMovie 2 will release in@IMAX format as well! It will enhance the scale and immersive experience of our movie!.”

Baahubali 2 will be the third Indian film after Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 and Hrithik Roshan’s Bang Bang to release in IMAX format. An elite league indeed.

From the trailer itself, it is certain that the second part will be even better in terms of grandeur in technical values. So it will truly be an one of it’s kind experience for movie buffs to watch the biggest Indian movie ever in IMAX format.

Recently, a video of an old woman asking Mohanlal if he could visit her when he comes to Thiruvananthapuram, his hometown, was trending virally in social medias. It is learnt that she has been staying in an orphanage for over 17 years.

The video finally reached the right hands and Mohanlal visited her today. The actor was recently in the city for the shoot of his upcoming movie Villain, directed by B Unnikrishnan. He shared photos of his visit in his Facebook page with a caption that reads,

“Happen to see a video where in i saw this Amma expressing her wish to meet me. Today morning I visited her and spend some time with her.”

We has recently told you that Tovino Thomas’s next movie will be a dark comedy produced by popular Tamil actor Dhanush’s production house Wunderbar Films. This will be Dhanush’s debut production venture in Mollywood.

Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films has produced many acclaimed movies like Visaranai, Kaaka Muttai and commercial blockbusters like Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, Ethir Neechal and Vellai Illa Pattadhari (VIP). He will also be funding superstar Rajinikanth’s next movie with Kabali director Pa Ranjith.

The yet to be titled Tovino starrer will be directed by Dominic Arun, who previously made the acclaimed noir short film Mrithyumjayam and also worked on the screenplay of Style starring Unni Mukundan and Tovino Thomas.

According to latest reports, Tovino will be playing a suspended police man in this movie. He previously acted as a police officer in Prithviraj’s Ezra as ACP Shafeer. However, his role in the latest movie will not be a typical police character. He is playing the role of Padmanabhan, a funny cop who is always accompanied by Balu Varghese’s character Joy who is also suspended from the police force.

Newcomer Neha Iyer and Shanthi are playing the female leads in this movie. Veteran actor Manoj K Jayan, Dileesh Pothen and Vijayaraghavan are also part of the cast.

Meanwhile, Tovino’s latest release Oru Mexican Aparatha is doing great business in the box office. The movie has already become a profitable venture and will certainly end it’s theatrical run with a superhit status.

According to reports, Mammootty will be seen as a police officer in the movie. This yet-to-be-titled movie is said to be a crime thriller and Mammootty will be seen as an investigative officer.

The actor was last seen as a police officer in Kasaba directed by Nithin Renji Panicker. His character Rajan Zachariah, was not the usual ‘filmy’ honest and diplomatic cop, but one with a tinge of misogyny and grey shades. Mammootty has played several celebrated police roles in his career like the iconic Balram of Avanazhi and Perumal in August 1.

Shamdat is a renowned cinematographer noted for his works in movies like Ritu, Seniors, Oozham and the recently released Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan. He has worked with Kamal Hassan in movies like Uttama Villain and the yet to be released Vishwaroopam 2.
