Mohanlal starrer movie Vismayam, which is the Malayalam dubbed version of his Telugu film named Manamantha is getting highly positive response from audience and critical appreciation is also pouring in from every corners. In box office too, the film is showing great performance and the collection has increased from second as well. On its first fay, the movie had earned around 68 lakhs which was the second biggest first day figure ever earned by a dubbed movie in Kerala.
But considering the genre of the movie, the collection got by Vismayam is just fantastic. The star power of Mohanlal here in Kerala is the reason for that. As per the reports coming in from trade guides, the film had earned around 90 lakhs from its second day from Kerala. Thus the total figure earned by the movie in its two day run here in Kerala was 1.58 crore. It was a great figure indeed.
Usually the collection of dubbed films goes down after the first day because of the lack of family support. But Vismayam had started a new trend as the film is getting great family support from all around the state. Multiplexes are getting great occupancy as well. On its first day, the occupancy was around 56% and on its second day, it increased to 69%.
As per reports coming in, the Sunday is going to be a great day for Vismayam at box office.
Mammootty starrer White had already become the biggest disaster of this year in Mollywood and now it is moving to the all-time biggest disaster as well here when we consider the movies of popular actors here in Mollywood. This film directed by Uday Ananthan bagged very bad reviews from its first day first show itself and never ever picked up any pace in box office.
The first day figure was just around 29 lakhs and the 4 day total figure earned by the movies was around 90 lakhs. After the completion of its first week, the film had only earned an amount near 1.15 crore from Kerala. The flick has not got even an average 10 lakh per day after the 4th day. The total share earned by the movie till now is only around 53 lakhs and now it is damn sure that it will not even get a share anywhere close to 1 crore.
Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi had played the female lead in it and artists like Shankar Ramakrishnan, Siddique, KPAC Lalitha, Sona Nair, Sunil Sugatha etc played minor characters in this flick. Rahul Raj had tuned the music for this movie and the DOP was Amarjeet Singh.
The film released in almost 95 screens here in Kerala had already lost 70-80% of its screens now.
The grand finale of Cuticura Grihalakshmi Face of Kerala program has been conducted last day at Kochi. It has been conducted at Radison Blue Hotel in Kochi and the Chief Guest of this program was Young Mollywood Super Star Prithviraj Sukumaran. Mollywood Young Star Unni Mukundan was the celebrity Judge in the program which started at 6 PM in the evening.
The competition had three level and 20 contestants selected from that 3 level competition had took part in the grand finale. Adithya Soni from Ernakulam, Aishwarya M from Thrissur, Amaal Shajahan from Thiruvananthapuram, Arsha Baiju from Alappuzha, Ganga V Raju from Trivandrum, Gopika Saji Kumar from Karnataka, Inku Rahmath L from Trivandrum, Jovitta Jose from Maharashtra, Madhuri Dileep from Ernakulam, Mary Martina MM from Ernakulam, Nayana Anil from Ernakulam, Parvathy Somanath from Trivandrum, Priyanka John from Ernakulam, Sandra Sunil from Kannur, Sania Iyyappan from Ernakulam, Shilkka Alai Shibu from Ernakulam, Sandra Dinesh from Thrissur, Sreelakshmi V from Ernakulam, Shreya Pramod from Trivandrum and Vindhuja Vikraman from Trivandrum were the contestants who took part in the grand finale.
Jovitta Jose from Maharashta had won the first prize and the runner up was Shreya Pramod from Trivandrum. The 3rd prize was won by Parvathy Somanath from Trivandrum as well. The winners got 1 Lakh, 75 thousand and 50 thousand cash prize respectively. The entry to the finale was for invited guests only.
Manamantha, the Telugu debut of super star Mohanlal as hero is getting fabulous reviews from all over and it had already become a box office success in all three languages it had released. The movie has been released in Malayalam as Vismayam and in Tamil as Namadhu. Great response is coming from all three languages and people praising Chandra Sekhar Yeleti for his great screenplay and direction.
Audience and critics alike giving tremendous applause to Mohanlal as well and the Telugu Film lovers says that Mohanlal once again proved that he is the Complete Actor of Indian Cinema. Now, Baahubali hero Prabhas had come out through his official Facebook page and said that he is waiting to see Manamantha.
He said that he heard great reviews about this movie and really want to see the movie at the earliest as possible. He said that he always loves the writings of Chndra Sekhar Yeleti and don’t want to miss this one from him. On the first day of the movie itself, Baahubali director SS Rajamouli had come out praising the movie and actor Mohanlal. Both SS Rajamouli and Prabhas is now busy with the shoot of Baahubali 2 at Hyderabad and it will hit the screens on 2017, April 28.
Anyway, Manamantha is really conquering South India and Mohanlal weaved his magic once again with his performance.
Mohanlal-Bhadran team is one of the most popular actor-director pair in Mollywood and the movie which made them popular all over is Spadikam, which had become one of the all-time classic mass action films in Mollywood. The film had become an all-time biggest blockbuster and it still have lot of followers here. Aadu Thoma is the name of the lead character played by Mohanlal in the movie Spadikam and without any doubt we can say that, it is the most followed mass action hero character in Mollywood Cinema history. Now, an unconfirmed report is coming from the industry sources that Mohanlal and Bhadran to join again for a movie next year.
As per reports, Bhadran had come to meet Mohanlal recently and discussed a plot with him. The Super Star seems to be loved that plot and given his node to go on with the project. The official confirmation regarding the project will come only after Bhadran finishes the screenplay of the movie.
Their last association was a movie named Udayon, in which Mohanlal played dual character of father and son. But it was a box office failure. They had given popular movies like Uncle Bun, Olympian Antony Adam etc in the past as well.
Last day, a rumor had spread in social media that the DVD of Mammootty film White has been released and a photo of the DVD cover of the movie also spread like wildfire in social media. But the fact is that the DVD of the movie is not yet released and it was a fake news spread because of the fan war that is going on here in Mollywood, between Mohanlal and Mammootty fans.
Some says that it was not the movie DVD, but the MP3 disc of the movie. White was only released on July 29 this year and it will not be possible to release the DVD of a movie within 7 day time of its theatrical release. Even though White had become the biggest disaster of this year, the news about its DVD release is an absolutely fake one.
The fan war here in Mollywood is going worse as both Mammootty and Mohanlal fans degrading each other’s movies and even good films gets affected by these kind of degrading. If things will go like this way, it will kill Malayalam Cinema for sure. These kind of fans who acts without common sense will bring shame to the super stars as well.
Mammootty and Mohanlal are the legends in Indian Cinema and these senseless fans are just insulting them before the whole world with this bizarre fan fights.
The movie named Guppy revolves around a boy who cultures and sells a fish named Guppy and the people who comes in to his life. The people in his village calls him Guppy and even he had forgotten the real name of his which was given to him by his mother. Guppy’s life is all about his love for his mother, his care for the guppy fishes which he cultures, his friendships and also about his love towards a girl whose face is not yet seen by him as she uses a veil to cover her face all the time. At that time an Engineer comes to that village for the construction of a bridge there and that changes his life.
Guppy has a story and situations which can attract the audience as well as make them glued to their seats. But it was all spoiled by some unwanted detailing and the lagging which tests the patience of the viewers. Even though the director succeeded in giving clear identity to each and every characters, the story just moved like it does not have any clear direction. It was more or less like a floating Guppy in the water which moves without any direction. If you can bear the boredom it offers due to its slow pace, then it will give you something to fill your mind and the director succeeded in providing that fortunately.
The emotional scenes were dramatic and it kills the flow of the narration at many points. This slow pace and too much detailing are the villains that makes the audience impatient in the cinema halls. The absence of a good editor is evident. The editor had contributed nothing to the movie except joining together the scenes that shot well by the director. Visuals from Gireesh Gangadharan was very good and it suited the theme of the movie. Music by Vishnu Vijay was also good. But it seems that the director was in a mood to incorporate all the songs tuned by the music director and too much use of the songs had not at all helped the narration of the plot.
Master Chethan who played Guppy had just lived as the character. His performance was that brilliant. Supporting actors like Tovino Thomas, Rohini, Alencier Ley, Sreenivasan, Sudheer Karamana, Dileesh Pothen etc also done a very good job. As a director and writer, John Paul George gives hope to Malayalam Cinema and the viewers here. A little bit more control from him over the proceeding could have been made a big difference. Too much detailing and slow pace had pulled down the movie to just a watchable flick, even though the plot has the potential to become a great movie.

Saamy is one of the biggest hits in the career of Chiyaan Vikram and it was directed by Hari, who is popular for his Singam series in Kollywood. Saamy had played an integral part in making Vikram a star there in Kollywood. Trisha played the female lead in Saamy and the Vikram-Trisha pair had done a great job in the movie. Saamy was released in the year 2003. Vikram had played a cop in the movie and his character name was Duraisaamy IPS.
Now, the sequel of the movie is coming which will be directing by Hari and the announcement was made during the audio and trailer launch function of Vikram’s upcoming movie named Iru Mugan directed by Anand Shankar. But, an unconfirmed report saying that Trisha will not be there in the sequel and instead of her, Nayanthara will be roped in to play the female lead in this movie.
Nayanthara is the female lead of Vikram’s upcoming movie named Iru Muguan as well and Nithya Menon also playing an important character in the movie. Vikram’s next will be Garuda directed by Tirru and Kajal Agarwal will play the female lead in the movie.
Hari is now busy with Singam 3 starring Suriya and after completing this project, he will start the pre-production of Saamy 2.
