No Nayanthara, it will be Sneha to play the female lead in next Mammootty movie

Mammootty’s next Malayalam movie will be with debutant Haneef Adeni and it will be produced by Prithviraj Sukumaran under the banner of August Cinemas. The shoot of this stylish family thriller will start in the coming September and it may well be the Christmas release of Mammootty. Prithviraj said to be playing an extended cameo in this flick as well.

Earlier there were reports that Super heroine of South India, Nayanthara will play the female lead in it and she will be paired opposite Mammootty for the 5th time in her career. But, now the report coming in that, instead of Nayanthara, another popular Kollywood actress named Sneha will play the female lead in it.

Sneha will be making a comeback to Mollywood. She had earlier acted with Mammootty in three movies named Thuruppu Gulan, Vande Matharam and Pramani. Thuruppu Gulan was a box office success whereas Vande Matharam and Pramani were box office disasters. Later she acted with Mohanlal as well in a movie named Shikkar, which a success at box office. She had made her debut here in Mollywood through the movie named Ingane Oru Nilapakshi which had Kunchacko Boban in the lead role. So, this upcoming movie will be her 6th movie here in Malayalam Cinema.

Baby Sara Arjun or Baby Anikha will play an important character in this movie as well which will be shot at the locations of Wagamon, Thrissur and Kochi.

Thirunaal is the latest release of South Indian super heroine Nayanthara, which had Jeeva in the lead role. Nayanthara is playing a school teacher’s character in this movie and a liplock scenes from the movie had landed her in trouble as per reports.

In this movie, there is a scene in which a little school kid kisses Nayanthara on her lips. The mother of that child had posted that screenshot in Facebook and she said that it was her son’s liplock with Nayanthara. Now, that scenes is getting trolls from all over and many people had come out against that scene in the movie.

Critics asks that if the same scene was done by a popular actor instead of Nayanthara, they could have been criticized severely and they could have come under the fire from feminist associations as well. If the team behind the movie want to highlight the beauty of Nayanthara, they could have used some other means to show it. But this was cheap and critics asks that the director of this movie will justify this or not, if it happens in real life. These kind of scenes will give bad messages to children and it will influence them in a very negative manner.

The mother who posted the image of Nayanthara’s liplock with her little son, had removed it from Facebook when she realized that it had become a big controversy. The director of this movie and Nayanthara is not yet reacted to this controversy.

Master director Priayadarshan and his wife Lissy got divorced last year. Both of them are busy with their own works now. Priayadarshan is now in the post-production works of his upcoming Mohanlal movie Oppam. In the meantime, Kalyani Priyadarshan , the daughter of Priyadarshan and Lissy is making her debut in Kollywood with Chiyan Vikram movie Irumugan which will hit the screens next month.

Kalyani Priyadarshan is not making her debut as an actress like her mother. But she has made her debut in Kollywood as an assistant director to Anand Shankar who had directed Iru Mugan. She seems to have chosen the path of her father.

Lissy is all excited about the debut of her daughter in Kollywood. She has chosen Kollywood, as she was born and brought up in Chennai. It was Lissy who had announced through her Facebook page, about the debut of her daughter in Kollywood.

It is very interesting that Priyadarshan movie Oppam is also a September release and there may be a clash between Iru Mugan and Oppam at Kerala box office this year.

Midhun Manuel Thomas had made a very good come back after the debacle of his first directorial venture named Aadu Oru Bheekara Jeeviyanu at box office. His second film Ann Maria Kalippilanu is getting decent reviews from all over and showing good performance in box office.

From its first two days, the film had only raked in an amount around 61 lakhs. It was an average start indeed. But on its 3rd day, which was a Sunday, it had done a business around 60 lakhs and thus the total figure earned by the movie in its first weekend is 1.21 crores.

The collection has increased really well and on its 4th day too it had got decent response in box office. Sunny Wayne played the male lead in the movie in which the central character is played by Baby Sara Arjun. Young Star Dulquer Salmaan played a cameo in the movie as well and that had helped the movie to get great attention from the audience. John Mathrichal and Midhun Manuel Thomas jointly written the movie and it was bankrolled by Goodwill Entertainments owned by Alice George.

Artists like Siddique and Biju Kuttan getting tremendous applause for their performance in the movie. Apart from them, Shine Tom Chacko, Aju Varghese, Saiju Kuruppu, Leona Shinoy etc also played important characters in this movie.

Mohanlal starrer Vismayam, which is the Malayalam version of the Telugu movie Manamantha is doing exceedingly well here. Manamantha directed and scripted by Chandra Sekhar Yeleti is the first Telugu movie of Mohanlal as hero and it has a Tamil version named Namadhu as well. The all three versions of the movie had released all over the world on the 5th of August.

All three versions are getting fantastic report from box office and from common mass. Film critics too given thumps up for this class family entertainer and people from different film industries also coming out praising the movie and the performance of Mohanlal. The Malayalam version named Vismayam is doing great here and the box office performance of the movie reflects that.

On its first day it had got around 68 lakhs and on the second day the collection increased to 90 lakhs. The third day was a Sunday and the great mouth publicity worked on that day and it had become a super Sunday for the movie. From its 3rd day, the movie had grossed 1.03 crores and the total weekend collection of the movie is now around 2.61 crores.

From Ernakulam multiplexes, the film had raked in more than 12 lakhs from its 3 day run there. The film is accepted by the family audience and number of shows and screens were increased at many centers.

Mammootty starrer movie Kasaba directed by debutant Nithin Renji Panicker, is running in a few screens here in Kerala. It had given a very good box office performance despite losing many of its screens to Kabali and new releases in Malayalam. The film had completed 30 days here and the 30 days total gross collection from Kerala had touched 14.5 crore. The film had released in GCC area last week and showing very good performance there. The reports says that, when the overseas and domestic collection added together, then the movie may have touched 20 crore rupees as its total gross.

This was the biggest hit of Mammootty in recent years. Critics had raised their doubts on his box office power, specially, considering the performance of his movies in last 4-5 years, as he had failed to give a big box office success during this period.

But Mammootty had come back strongly with a box office success like Kasaba and proved that he still has the box office power with him. Kasaba had done well in box office even after getting mixed reviews. Alice George had bankrolled this project under the banner of Goodwill Entertainment.

Mammootty had played a cop role in it named CI Rajan Zakariah and TVaralakshmi Sarath Kumar had played female lead in it along with Kannada actress Neha Saxena.

Suriya’s Singam 3 already made 100 crore pre-release business ?

Singam 3 is the upcoming release of Kollywood star Suriya and it will be the third film of the Singam series. Hari had directed the first two parts of the movie and he is helming this one too. First two parts of this Sigam series were money spinners at box office and the fans of Suriya hoping that this 3rd one in the series will also become a huge box office success.

As per the latest report that is coming in, the flick had already started to rake in huge amount of money as its theatrical rights has been sold out for great prices. The Tamil Nadu rights of the movie is sold for a whopping price of 41 crores and Udayam Entertainments bagged it. The Telugu rights were 18 crores, which was bagged by Malkapuram Shiva Kumar. The Kerala rights were sold for 3.5 crore and the Karnataka rights was 4.5 crore.

When we add the satellite right, music right and also the overseas rights, the flick had done a business around 100 crores already. Anushka Shetty and Sruthi Hasan playing the female leads in this movie and Harris Jayaraj had tuned the music.

The film is in its final schedule and will hit the screens in this year December as per reports. Suriya’s last movie 24, directed by Vikram Kumar was a super success at box office.
