Tamil actor Suriya had surpassed Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay and Telugu Star Allu Arjun in the number of followers in Twitter. Suriya now had more than 1 Million followers in Twitter and in Kollywood only Super Star Rajinikanth is in front of him with an awesome 3 Million followers. Allu Arjun has more than 8 Lakh followers in Twitter and Vijay had more than 6 lakh followers there.
Kamal Haasan, Mohanlal, Dulquer Salmaan, Mammootty etc also has great number of followers in twitter from South Indian film industry. After reaching the 1 Million mark officially, Suriya tweeted, saying thanks to his fans that whether it is good time or bad time, they always stood with him and loved him unconditionally.
He said there are not enough words to thank them for their support. Suriya fans are celebrating this record by tweeting with a hashtag 1MSuriyaDevoteesOnTwitter, and it is trending now in twitter as well.
Suriya is now fresh from the success of 24, directed by Vikram Kumar, busy with his upcoming project named Singam 3, directed by Hari. K E Gnanavel Raja is producing this movie and the female leads are Anushka Shetty and Sruthi Hasan. Harris Jayaraj had tuned the music for this movie in which Suriya is playing a cop.
Oozham is the upcoming revenge drama directed and scripted by Master Director Jeethu Joseph. Young Super Star of Mollywood, Prithviraj Sukumaran is playing the male lead in this movie and artists like Neeraj Madhav, Irshad, Divya Pillai, Rasna Pavithran and Balachandra Menon also playing important characters in this action film. Oozham, the Jeethu Joseph scripted and directorial movie starred by Young Super Star Prithviraj is all set to grace the screens here in Mollywood on this coming Onam. The first look poster of the film had released few days back and went viral in social media platforms and even outside. The team behind the film had informed that the first teaser of the film will be released on 7th of July.
There were reports came in media that Oozham is a suspense thriller like Memories, which was the previous film done by this pair of Jeethu Joseph and Prithviraj. But Jeethu Joseph cleared the air by saying that Oozham is not at all a suspense thriller movie.
He said that this film will be a revenge drama which maintains the mood on an action film throughout. The first look poster of the film gives a mystery feel even though and the tagline “it’s just a matter of time” also gives audience the feel that there are some thrilling elements in it.
Ayal Njanalla fame Divya Pillai is playing the female lead opposite Prithviraj in this movie and artists like Neeraj Madhav, Irshad, Balachandra Menon etc also playing key characters in this revenge drama. The film expected to hit the screens on September first week.
Oppam, the Mohanlal starrer directed by Priyadarshan is now in its post-production stage at Chennai and writer and director of this movie Priyadarshan is making all his effort to make this film a great one. According to him, this film Oppam will be the career best movie of him as he had made such a great effort to make this movie and he believes that those efforts will pay off.
After Chandralekha which released almost 20 years back, he wrote the screenplay for a Mohanlal film again for Oppam. The story is written by Govind Vijayan, a newcomer and Priyadarshan had written the screenplay based on it. Priyadarshan says that screenplay is the backbone of this movie Oppam and it is the most challenging screenplay he had ever written in his career.
He said that he had used all his experience while writing this screenplay and the visual form of the screenplay also came good. He had tried many genres in his career starting from Comedy, Action, horror, period drama etc. But for the first time that he had made a crime thriller. He is sure that Oppam will be a new experience for the audience.
He said that he took great time to finish the screenplay and it will be like a reference material for budding writers as it has all his experience as a film maker in it.
The news which trended in social media today was about the addition of a Rajinikanth emoji in WhatsApp Icon set. People found a man icon in WhatsApp icon set which looks like Rajinikanth. The look of that man from the icons resembles vintage look of Rajinikanth and specifically from the movie named Kabali.
The hair style of the man in that icon also made people believe that it was an emoji of the Super Star and reports came in that WhatsApp had added that emoji to honor Rajinikanth before the release of Kabali. But the now the secret had come out of the magician’s hat. It was not a Rajinikanth emoji as everybody believed. But, that emoji of a man wearing suit, who is standing upright is made based on the character named Walt Jabsco.
This icon was originally added to the Windings font to denote an exclamation mark and that too in the style of the rude boy logo which found on records by The Specials. This was founded by a person named Jen Sorenson. It is actually named as theman in business suit levitating emoji and it was approved at Unicode 7.0 in the year 2014.
It is not at all an emoji based on Rajinikanth or his style. May be the ones who spread it wanted only a promotion for Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Kabali. The promotion of the film is going great guns finding new and unique methods like painting Kabali poster on Air India flight etc.

Now a rare thing had happened in his career as he had got the chance to be the hero of an actress, whose mother also played the female lead opposite him many years back. Yes, we are talking about Varalakshmi Sarathkumar who is playing the female lead in Mammootty’s upcoming film Kasaba. In Kasaba, Varalakshmi is not Mammootty’s pair but playing the female lead.
Almost 30 years before Mammootty had acted in a film named Makan Ente Makan in which Radhika Sarath Kumar was his pair. Radhika Sarath Kumar is the stepmom of Varalakshmi Sarath Kumar who is the daughter of Tamil movie actor Sarath Kumar. J Sasikumar had directed the film named Makan Ente Makan in 1985. Mammootty and Radhika had acted together in 1992 Telugu Film Swathi Kiranam as well. K Vishwanath had directed this movie.

He is been at the 4th position in the list of most influential Young Indians, published by GQ Magazine. Dulquer Salmaan is ahead of Indian Cricket’s new sensation Virat Kohli in the list.
The first spot in the list is occupied by Arunabh Kumar and Biswapati Sarkar who is popular in India through web series. The second spot belongs to singer Benny Dayal who become popular through the songs composed by AR Rahman. The DJ-VJ team of Gaurav Malekkar and Avinash Kumar occupies the third spot in the list. Dulquer Salmaan’s recent successes and his way of choosing films helped him to get the 4th spot in the list.
The Magazine mentioned about Dulquer’s films like OK Kanmani directed by Mani Ratnam and his recent film Kammattipadam. Anurag Kashyap had tweeted about this movie and the magazine asks whether the appreciation from Anurag Kashyap bring Dulquer to Bollywood or not. His OK Kanmani is now remaking in Bollywood by Karan Johar (producer) and Aditya Roy Kapoor playing Dulquar’s part in the Hindi version.
The 5th in the list is Street Artist Haneef Qureshi and Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh is at 6th position. Viral Kohli got the 9th position in the list as well.
If the reports that coming in are to be believed, Kollywood star Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay and Tollywood Super Star Mahesh Babu may be seen in the Tamil and Telugu versions of the upcoming Sundar C project. We had already reported that Sundar C is planning a big budget movie based on mythology and it will be a bigger movie than Baahubali.
Sri Thenandal films will produce this movie which will be their 100th venture as well. Earlier they had planned to rope in Suriya to play the male lead in it. But Suriya who had committed to Pa Ranjith movie had withdrawn from this project. Then they met Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay with the screenplay and sources says that Vijay is impressed with the screenplay.
As per the latest news, they had met Mahesh Babu to play the lead in the Telugu version of the movie and he too had shown interest to be a part of this movie. Still no official confirmation had come regarding this news. Mahesh Babu and Vijay not reacted yet to these reports as well.
The film is titled Sangamithra as per reports and the team had roped in big names like AR Rahman, Sabu Cyril, R C Kamalakannan etc for this flick.
