Theri record gone and now its Kabali

Superstar Rajinikanth starrer Kabali is making new records as each day passes and it created a record here in Kerala too last day. Till yesterday the Kollywood movie which got the highest distribution rights here in Kerala was Vijay starrer Theri, which got 5.6 crore rupees. Theri rights was bought jointly by Friday Film House and Carnival Motion Pictures Private Limited.

aBut Rajnkanth starrer Kabali had surpassed that record as it had got 7.5 crore rupees as distribution rights. The rights of Kabali is bought by Ashirvad Cinemas which was owned by none other than Mollywood Superstar Mohanlal and his production partner Antony Perumbavoor. They will distribute Kabali in and around 200 screens here in Kerala through their distribution wing named Maxlab.

The flick has been making all the buzz in town right from the day of its announcement. At first the first look poster, then the teaser, audio etc of the film went viral and created all sorts of records in social media platforms and YouTube. This Pa Renjith written and directorial movie is bankrolled by Kalaipuli S Thanu. He had quoted an amount near 8.5 crore as the rights for Kabali in Kerala. But Ashirvad became successful in making the deal in 7.5 crore rupees.

The film is expected to hit the screens all over on July 22.

Oppam is not a copy or remake of any other movie, says Priyadarshan

Director Priyadarshan is all set for a great comeback after some failures he had in recent times. For that he is coming this time with none other than his best friend and the biggest star in Mollywood, Mohanlal. The film titled Oppam had finished filming and now the post production on its full swing at Chennai.

The editing works are going on now at Four Frames Studio Chennai and Priyadarshan is very much hopeful about this upcoming project, which will be an Onam release here in Mollywood. Priyadarshan had made films in Mollywood taking inspirations from foreign language films and he had done many remakes. But he says that Oppam is a fresh creation and it is not a copy or remake of any movies.

There were some rumors spreading that Oppam is also an adaptation of some Hollywood film. But Priyadarshan had refuted all those allegations by saying that it is his own creation and no one has any claim on it. Priyadarshan had said that no one can accuse him of copying when it comes to Oppam as he had made a genuine screenplay out of the single line story that heard from the debutant Govind Vijayan.

Kasaba teaser had now made two records on its 4th day of release. At first it had become the fastest Malayalam movie teaser to cross the 1 Million view mark in YouTube and on the same day it had become the highest viewed Malayalam movie teaser by crossing the view record set by Mohanlal starrer Puli Murugan teaser. Puli Murugan had around 10 Lakh 64 thousand views in YouTube, which it got from 41 days and Kasaba surpassed it in four and half day time.

Kasaba teaser now slowly moving to hit the 11 Lakh view mark for the first time in Mollywood . The film is all set to release on the Eid day next month and as per reports it will hit the screens on July 6th.

Puli Murugan teaser had took 31 days to reach to the landmark of 1 Million. But Kasaba teaser had reached that milestone in just 4 day time and thus become the fastest Malayalam Movie teaser to cross the 10 Lakh views in YouTube history.

According to the trade guides, the reason for this achievement is the heavy trolls that has been received by the film right from the day when its first look poster was released. An exciting and exclusive news had come as The Complete Actor Mohanlal had bagged the distribution rights of much awaited Superstar Rajinikant film named Kabali. Mohanlal’s Aashirvad Cinemas had bagged the rights after tight competition from many other popular distribution companies.

The amount is not yet revealed and rumours says that it had broke the record made by Vijay’s Theri this year. Theri had got an amount of 5.6 crore from Friday Film House and Carnival Motion Pictures Private Limited. This is the first time that Aashirvad had taken up the distribution of a movie which has no Mohanlal in it. In 2014, Ashirvad had distributed the Tamil film named Jilla which had Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay and Mohanlal in the lead.

It is expected to get more than 150+ screens in Kerala and with the arrival of Mohanlal’s Aashirvad on scene, it will go higher. Maxlab is the distribution wing of Ashirvad owned by Mohanlal and Antony Perumbavoor.

Kabali, the much awaited Kollywood flick starring Rajinikanth, the Superstar, is on its way to the screens and the film is making news all over for different reasons. At first its posters went viral. If reports coming in are to be believed, Mohanlal and Renjith is all set to join hands again after the last year success named Loham. Even though Loham was a box office success, it did not get a great deal of appreciation from the mass as they expected more from this magical combo of Mohanlal and Ranjith. May be that is why they are all set to make it right this time with a new project.

As per reports, Ranjith had already started writing the screenplay of this Mohanlal film and rumors also says that Manju Warrier may be roped in to play the female lead in it. The rumors says that Ranjith will officially confirm the project once he finishes the screenplay.
