Fahad Fazil needed a comeback this year as he was going through one of the most terrible periods of his career as every films of his went unnoticed and failed at box office. Many critics had said that his time has long gone and he does excites Mollywood film lovers at all. So, the comeback was must for him and that too not a small one. He had to make it something very big. And he has nailed it with Maheshinte Prathikaram which released on this year February 5, directed by Dileesh Pothen and written by Shyam Pushkaran.

The film had really made the audience entertained to the core and from the very first show of its opening day, the film had received great word of mouth from audience. Even though it took only an average opening, later it had made a dream run at box office which still continues. As per the latest collection reports coming from trade guides, the film is all set to enter in to the 15 crore club of Mollywood. It had already reached around 14.5 crore collection and only needs a few more days to enter in to the 15 crore club, which will make it the first solo blockbuster in the career of Fahad Fazil.

The Aashiq Abu production venture had made good returns from Rest of India as well as from outside Indian as well. It is on its way to become the biggest grosser of this year till now as well. It is a low budget film and it had already earned great profit from screens of Kerala itself. It had also given us some new faces who performed very well along with Fahad Fazil.

Ramya Krishnan is one of the most popular and most versatile actress in South India. She was once the super heroine of South Indian Cinema and later become one of the most powerful actress in our country. The recent example of that is her character in Indian Cinema’s magnum opus, Bahubali directed by SS Rajamouli. In that film she played a queen named Sivagami Devi, the way in which played that character was just terrific to say the very least. Her expressions, dialogue delivery etc were amazing and the screen presence she had was just stunning. After Bahubali, she had done a very powerful role in a Malayalam movie as well and it is Aadupuliyattam starred by Jayaram and Ompuri and directed by Kannan Thamarakkulam.

The film is a horror comedy based on a 600 year old myth. Through this film Ramya Krishnan is making a comeback to Mollywood after a short gap. She had acted with Mohanlal, Mammootty, etc as well in Mollywood and acted in a handful of films here. The major ones are Anuragi, Orkkappurathu, Aryan, Mahatma, Aham, Ore Kadal etc and her last film was Appavum Veenjum which released last year. Most of her films was with Mohanlal and Mohanlal is her favorite actor as well.

She had acted in many Tamil and Telugu films as well in her long career. She had acted with artists like RajiniKanth and Kamal Haasan in Tamil cinema and her character in the Tamil film named Padayappa, starred by Rajinikanth was an epic one in Tamil cinema. She had acted with Sivaji Ganeshan, Nagesh, Amitabh Bachchan etc as well in her career.

Aadupuliyattam was written by Dinesh Pallathu and it was shot at locations like Palani and Thodupuzha. As per reports, they are planning it as a Vishu release next month and some says that it will be a grand comeback from Jayaram, who was going through a lean patch for some years. Bollywood actor Om Puri is also doing a key role in this flick.

Janakan film director Saji Paravoor hospitalized

Popular Malayalam cinema director Saji Paravoor had hospitalized today evening due to stroke. He is now at KIMS Hospital Trivandrum. Some local medias reported that his condition is not very good and there are some rumors also came that he had breathed his last. But as per now the official news is that he is under treatment and there is not much update about his health condition.

He had directed the film named Janakan, which was his debut film starring Mohanlal and Suresh Gopi. Even though the film was only an average grosser at box office, it was noted by critics for the theme it discussed and the performance of lead actors in it. He had worked in many films as associate director and was active in the field as well.

His real name is Sanjeev N R and is popular as Saji Paravoor in our industry. He had worked as associated director in Mollywood for many years and he was the associate of Lenin Rajendran for a long period. He is one of the most valuable associate director as well in Mollywood.

Saji is working as the associate director of Roshen Andrews in the film named School Bus starring Kunchacko Boban, scripted by Booby and Sanjay, while he was hospitalized.

Martin Prakkat directorial film Charlie, scripted by Martin Prakkat himself in associated with noted writer Unni R has been one of the biggest hits in Mollywood as well as the biggest ever success in Dulquer Salmaan’s career as well. The film which had Dulquer Salmaan and Parvathy in the lead had got great appreciation from common audience as well as from critics. The icing on the cake for the team behind Charlie was the State film awards that announced on March 1st.

The film had bagged 8 State Film awards including the best Actor award, best actress award, best cinematographer award and best screenplay award. Now, its official that the film is all set to speak 3 different languages as well. It will be remade to Tamil, Bengali and Marathi languages.

The news about Tamil version had come earlier and there were rumors came also about the actors who is going to play the lead role in Tamil version. But Charlie’s universal plot attracted them as well.

Charlie had made a business above 42 crore and the success it got along with the critical appreciation may have lured industries like Bengal and Maharashtra to buy the rights of the film. Aadu Oru Bheekara Jeeviyaanu may be the most celebrated Malayalam movie of last year, specially, in online medias. Each and every character in the film had got great followers and the film now holds the record in DVD sales in Mollywood. It was written and directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas and it was his debut directorial venture as well.

He had earlier penned down the screenplay of 2014 super success movie named Om Shanti Oshana, which had won state award as well. Now, he had started his next directorial venture and Sunny Wayne is the hero in his new movie. The new film will be produced by Alice George under the banner of Goodwill entertainments. Joby George is the executive producer of the film.

The film had started rolling at Thrissur last day. Apart from Sunny Wayne, one of the other popular artist working in this film is Baby Sara, who is very popular among us through her superb acting in the Tamil film named Daivathirumakal, directed by AL Vijay and starred by Chiyan Vikram and Anushka.

After this project with Sunny Wayne, Midhun Manuel Thomas will start the work of the sequel of Aadu Oru Bheekara Jeeviyanu, which will be produced by Friday Film House. People eagerly waiting for that project from this film maker as well. Sunny Wayne will have some good projects coming up this year and this Midhun Manuel film also makes this year full of hopes for him.

Actor Kalabhavan Mani had passed away few hours ago and Malayalees are still not out of the shock it bring to them. Kalabhavan Mani, who was 45 years old was admitted to hospital two days back and he was kept in ventilator as well. He was under the treatment for liver disease and now some report coming in which says that there is some suspicion over the cause of his death. The hospital authorities had reported to police that they had found contents of Methyl Alcohol from his body and that means that he may have drank alcohol which had poisoned.

Chalakkudy Police had already registered case and started investigation about this. His dead body was send to Thrissur Medical College for postmortem and it will help to understand the real cause of his death. Postmortem will take place tomorrow morning and later his body will be handed over to the family.

State government announced that his dead body will be cremated with all official state honors after giving enough time to the public and his fans to see him one last time at Chalakkudy. Anyway, now everybody is anxious about how he died this quickly and the police case had made the matter more serious as well.

You all know what was really the issue, that happened between Ramesh Narayan and RS Vimal. After winning the state award, Ramesh Narayan had accused Prithviraj for removing his songs from the film Ennu Ninte Moideen and also said that RS Vimal supported Prithviraj in this insulting behavior to Ramesh. But RS Vimal come out and said that Ramesh Narayan is telling all sorts of lies and putting forward some cheap arguments.

Then Ramesh Narayan last day come out and said that RS Vimal knows nothing about cinema and direction and it is because of his mercy that the producer got ready to make a film with RS Vimal as the director. Now, the chief associate director of RS Vimal, Rajan, had come out and said the same. He said that RS Vimal is one who had no clue about what cinema really is. Ennu Ninte Moideen is the result of his efforts along with team. It is not the creation of RS Vimal.

RJ Rajan said that he and his associates had shot the film fully and even after doing all that for RS Vimal, he had cheated them by not giving their remuneration. Rajan is a busy Chief associated director in Kollywood. He along with his companions like Vishnu Anand and Manohar etc had prepared the digital story board for Ennu Ninte Moideen. Starting from there, they had even done the shooting script, light, camera angle etc as well for the shoot of the film. RS Vimal knows nothing about film making and they had helped him to complete the film by standing with from beginning to the very end with all their help.

But still he did not gave them the remuneration for their work and he even not got ready to pay back 3 lakhs rupees he borrowed from a friend of Rajan. Rajan also said that Vimal had made some frauds regarding the budget of the film as well. Rajan says he will reveal all the things related to Vimal’s cheating but only after sometime because Rajan is planning to do a film in Mollywood in the near future.

Popular Malayalam actor Kalabhavan Mani had passed away few hours ago. Kalabhavan Mani was 45 years old and he was suffering with liver disease and was admitted in a Private Hospital in Kochi two days before. He was in treatment for sometimes and that’s why he was not very active recently in film field. The reason for his quick death was only known after the postmortem and it will be out tomorrow as per the hospital sources. Kalabhavan Mani had started as a mimicry artist and singer. Later he made his debut in Mollywood through the film named Samudayam. He had went on to act in more than 200 films in his career and acted in Tamil and Kannada languages as well.

He had the fortune to act with almost all the lead stars in South India. He began his career as a comedy artist. Then he became hero and also played Villain roles. For performance in the film Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njanum, he had got Special Jury award at National film awards and Special Jury award at Kerala State Film awards as well.
His major films are Sallapam (which gave him the break in the early part of his career), Samoohyapadam, Kalyanan Sougandhikam, Dilliwala Raja Kumaran, Summer in Bethlahem, Karumadi Kuttan, Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njanum, Ben Johnson, Chotta Mumbai, Maya Ponman, Bhootha Kannadi, The Car, Achamma Kuttiyude Achayan, Oneman show, Rakshasa Rajavu, Kuberan, Kanmashi, Vettam etc. His last film was Loka Samastha as well. He had great combination films with actors like Dileep and Jayaram and his combination films with Jayaram are very much popular.

His wife’s name is Dr. Nimmy and had daughter as well named Sree Lakshmy. Kalabahavan Mani was a multi-faceted talent who made us happy through his mimicry, acting and singing capabilities. His songs were so much popular in Kerala and he had sung in films too apart from the so called “Naadan Paattukal”.

Dulquer Salmaan starrer flick Charlie had released all over on December 24th, 2015. The film had got great responses from the critics and film lovers and eventually emerged as the biggest grosser in Dulquer Salmaan’s career. The flick was written by Unni R and Martin Prakatt and directed by Martin Prakatt. It was the first production venture of Martin as well along with his partners such as Joju George and Shebin Bucker. They had produced the film under the banner of finding cinemas. The film had completed 10 thousand shows in Kerala and outside Kerala too it had got great response. As per the official report, the film had made a total business around 42 crore rupees from its worldwide run.

From Kerala alone it had got 22 crore rupees and this collection includes the gross from B and C class screens as well. The rest of India collection of the flick is around 6.8 crore rupees and the UAE GCC collection is around 11.75 crore rupees. From UK, US and other areas, it got a collection of 2.2 crore altogether.

The film had got 8 awards in this edition of Kerala state awards for films. Dulquer Salmaan got the best actor award for his performance as Charlie and Parvathy had got the best actress award as for her performance in this film and Ennu Ninte Moideen. Jomon T John’s DOP for this film had helped him to won the best cinematographer award and the screenplay of the film had got best screen play award as well.

In total, Charlie was really a great experience for the viewers which gave a positive energy to all of them who watched it. It also gave us the actor in Dulquer Salmaan more than the star image of him. His efforts to be the character was awarded by the best actor award in state level and that is indeed a fitting reward for this young man’s dedication and commitment to his work.

Martin Prakkat had created the best film of his career with Charlie and the screenplay in association with Unni R was just brilliant. The support from Joju George and Shebin Bucker as producers were just fabulous as well because they never set any limit to the dreams saw by Martin and Unni. And the final product we got was the stunning Charlie.

It is official now that, the film will be remade to Tamil, Bengali and Marathi languages.
