Naseeruddin Shah is considered as one of the finest actors in our Country and he had given us many evergreen characters to remember as well. He had acted in many Indian languages and acted in Malayalam cinema as well. It was in the film named Ponthan Mada directed by TV Chandran and Mammootty played the lead role in it. But when it comes to the favorite Mollywood actor of Naseeruddin Shah, he has no hesitation at all as he answered quickly. He says Mohanlal is his most favorite Malayalam actor. He says that he likes the acting of veteran Mollywood actor Nedumudi Venu as well. He opened his mind to the media when he came to act in a play which will be held at Kochi.

Naseeruddin Shah said that drama/plays excites him a lot and there is a life in it. He and Rajat Kapoor had staged many plays in India and they had come to Kerala before as well. This time they had come to stage a play based on the lives of one Indian and Pakistan middlemen who comes to meet during an arms deal. Their conversation regarding the attitude of these two countries and the chance of peace between India and Pakistan, makes the plot of the play.

Naseeruddin Shah plays the Pakistani middleman and Rajat plays the Indian Middleman. Naseeruddin Shah had accompanied by his wife Rukhma as well. They says that they really enjoy Kerala. There is beauty everywhere and the people here accepts realistic art like plays and that excites them.

Mohanlal and Naseeruddin Shah had not acted together and Naseeruddin Shah had expressed his wish to act along with Mohanlal many years back. But still the union of these two legends had not happened yet. Mohanlal, who is considered as the finest actor in the country may also be the actor who had most number of admirers from other film industries in Indian Cinema. Many great technicians, film makers and artists from other film industries said that Mohanal is their favorite actor and he always makes them stunned with his magical acting.

BP Moideen’s epic real life love story with Kanchanamala was celebrated by all malayalees through the film named Ennu Ninte Moideen last year, which was directed by RS Vimal and starred by Prithviraj and Parvathy. But there is more to Moideen as a person above the love affair with Kanchanamala. That part of Moideen’s life is coming to grace the silver screen as well and it will be produced by Moideen’s brother BP Rasheed. The story will be also by BP Rasheed. In fact BP Rasheed was all set to produce Ennu Ninte Moideen as well. But when the budget seems to be very bog for Ennu Ninte Moideen, he pulled out of it as he does not have such financial backup. But he helped a lot to complete the film.

Few months back, actress Seema had said in a media interview about the producer of her first film and it was BP Moideen who produced her first film. So, the new film about Moideen will be based on the memories that Seema shared about Moideen. It will unveil a different face of Moideen and we will come to know about some unheard incident that happened in Moideen’s life.

The pre-production works of the film is already started as per reports and the details about who will act as Moideen and who will direct the film is not yet revealed. Late actor Jayan was a close friend of Moideen and he was planning to make a film with Jayan as well. But both were died in different accidents. Ennu Ninte Moideen only focused on Moideen’s love story but this film will be one which focus more on Moideen as a social animal.

There has been a lot of controversy happened around the film Ennu Ninte Moideen after its release. First it was all about Kanchanamala’s rift with R S Vimal. Then came the issue between Ramesh Narayan and Prithviraj, which also included RS Vimal. Now, it will be quite interesting if another film also comes based on the same character.

The controversy that had started right after the announcement of Kerala State Film awards 2016 now taking new turns. The controversy had started when music director Ramesh Narayan who won the state award said that his award is a reply to Prithviraj who tried to insult him along with director RS Vimal by removing his songs from the film Ennu Ninte Moideen.

RS Vimal also replied to Ramesh Narayan’s comments by saying that Ramesh Narayan is playing some cheap tricks and telling all sorts of lies to get attention. RS Vimal also said that Ramesh Narayan did gave behaved properly to anyone including the director of the film as went on to create some songs even without the knowledge of the director. But Ramesh Narayan had again come out hitting hard at RS Vimal as Ramesh Narayan said that RS Vimal had become a director because of him.

Ramesh Narayan said that RS Vimal knows nothing about cinema and direction. He said that it was due to his mercy that Vimal become a film director. Ramesh Narayan said that the producer not really want to make the film Ennu Ninte Moideen, with RS Vimal as the director. But RS Vimal came and begged to Ramesh Narayan and that is how he become a film director. Ramesh Narayan also said that RS Vimal’s comments regarding the creation of songs were fake as well. Ramesh said that the songs were tuned in the presence of RS Vimal and lyricist Rafeeq Ahammad. But Prithviraj had forced RS Vimal to remove those songs from the film. They had removed the song sung by KJ Yesudas and it was really painful to Yesudas when he come to know that the song he sung was not used in the film.

Ramesh Narayan also said that Prithviraj and R S Vimal had tries to remove the song sung by Jayachandran as well. But somehow that pavement was tackled by the producer of the film and it was included in the flick. Ramesh Narayan said that RS Vimal had insulted Kanchanamala as well. Ramesh Narayan was talking at the press conference at Kannur Press club.

The evergreen magical combination of Mohanlal and Priyadarshan uniting again for a film this year and the flick titled Oppam had already started rolling yesterday at Ernakulam. This actor-director combo is one of the best not only in Malayalam cinema, but also in Indian cinema as a whole as well. They had given several evergreen films and several blockbuster success as well. Most of their films were milestones in Malayalam cinema and it will not be an exaggeration to say that most our current generation actors, writers and directors were influenced by films from this combination when it comes to comedy or total entertainers. Above 90% their films was box office successes and the characters , dialogues etc from those films were still got more followers than any current super successful characters of this generation.

Even though comedy films are their trademark, this time this combo is coming with a crime thriller. Mohanlal reportedly plays a visually challenging character in it and it will be for the first time in his career that he plays a full-fledged blind character. Apart from Mohanlal, this film will have Nedumudi Venu, Chemban Vinod, Aju Varghese, Anusree, Vimala Raman, Samudrakkani, Mamukkoya, Ganesh Kumar, Kalabhavan Shajon, Manikkuttan, Kunchan, Bineesh Kodiyeri, Edavela Babu, Baby Meenakshi etc. Ekambaram is the DOP of this film and Jimjacob will compose music for this flick. The story of this film is written by a new face named Govid Vijayan and Priyadarshan himself written the screenplay and dialogues of the film.

Priyadarshan had written screenplays before and most of them were super success as well. Major films he written was Boeing Boeing, Thalavattom, Chithram, Thenmavin Kombathu, Minnaram, Kalapani, Chandralekha, Kakkakkuyil etc. There is also one factor that whenever Priyadarshan writes screenplay for other’s story, he had made successes as well. Recently he was not writing many scripts and this one will be a comeback by him to writing as well.

Mohanlal and Priyadarshan last done a film together in 2013, named Geethanjali. But it was a box office failure due to the hype it was created due to the central character played by Mohanlal and also due to the similarities of the plot with Tamil film Charulatha.

Udaya Banner is coming back ! Kunchacko Boban announced the project !

It has been long years since we are anticipating the coming back of one of the most popular film production banner in Mollywood, The Udaya Studios. The current owner of it, actor Kunchacko Boban had already said to the media about his plans to relaunch the Udaya Studio years back. And now the wish is coming to reality as he had announced the first production venture of his under the banner of Udaya Studio. The actor had announced about the film in a press meet. The film will be directed by National award winning director Sidharth Siva and will be titled as Kochauvva Paulo Ayyappa Coelho. Kunchacko Boban himself will play the lead in it.

Kunchacko Boban will play the title character named Kochauvva and the shoot of the film will start on March 14th, this year. The screenplay of this film also written by the director Sidharth Siva and Kunchacko Boban said that they are looking forward to make a good film and there will no compromise on time and money to make the wish true. They want a good film to present before the audience while they relaunches the most popular banner again.

The Udaya Banner was launched in 1942 by Kunchacko and KT Koshi. After that Kunchacko’s son Kunchacko had took it from his father and made films under it. Now, Kunchacko’s son Kunchacko Boban is doing the same by reviving the banner. It was behind the super successful films in the 1960’s and 1970’s like Unniyarcha, Palattu Koman, Othenante Makan, Aromalunni, Ponnapuram Kotta, Thacholi Marumakan Chanthu, Thumbolarcha, Kannappanunni, Thacholi Ambu, Kadahathanattu Makkam, Palattu Kunjikkannan etc. The first film from the studio was Vellinakshatram which released in the year 1949.

Udaya Studios had made more films based on the Vadakkan Pattu in Malayalam literature and they had made it all successful at that time. There were plans by Kunchacko Boban years back to relaunch the banner with a big film starring Mohanlal and Mammootty. Later there were reports that he may launch it with a Prithvi Raj film as well.

Ilaya Thalapathy’s Theri will come to the screens on this April 15th as per the latest reports and everybody is waiting eagerly for the film. This Atlee directorial flick is riding on great hopes from fans and film lovers as Vijay is playing an out and out cop role in this film for the first time in his career, even though he had done some police character roles in films like Pokkiri and Jilla. Those characters were not full-fledged cop roles.

So there is great hype around this movie Theri. But now a news doing its round in social media that Theri 2 is also in the pipeline. There are reports that Atlee is planning a sequel to this film and Vijay will star in the sequel as well. There are reports that, the sequel will be announced at the climax part of Theri as the title card of the film reportedly ends with a quote from Vijay that he will meet us in Theri 2.

Even though it was not a confirmed report, the fans of Vijay are excited after hearing the news. If it happens, then it will be the first time in his career that Vijay will be acting in a sequel. Let’s wait for the official confirmation regarding the news of Theri 2.

Rajesh Pillai, one of the most promising director’s in Mollywood had passed away on last February 27, just a day after the release of his last film named Vettah starred by Kunchacko Boban, Indrajith Sukumaran and Manju Warrier. The film had got great response from its day one at theaters but Rajesh did not had the luck to enjoy that success. He was suffering with severe live disease and he was under the treatment for it from years back.

At first many people thought that he was may be an addict to alcohol and that caused the liver diseases. But after his death one his friend had posted in Facebook that he was not an alcoholic, but Pepsi was the cause of his liver diseases, which he drank without any control once. Later, actor and doctor, Dr. Roney had said to a media that it was not Pepsi that caused his death. He said that Liver Disease was a genetic one for Rajesh Pillai and his mother also died with that disease.

But Now,the great actor Kamal Haasan also come out and said to media in an interview that it was the director’s food habits that had caused his disease and eventually lead him to death. Kamal Haasan said that he knows Rajesh Pillai since he was the assistant director of TK Rajeev Kumar. He was a promising talent as well. He had great hopes on him as well. Kamala Hasan said that we had to accept the fact that Rajesh Pillai’s disease was caused due to the use of aerated American drinks and use of junk foods like Burgers etc. The aerated drinks had more pesticides in it and it will cause more bad effects than alcohol.

Kamal Haasan said that his death is a message to all. We all should change our food habits. He said that it was very sad to know that a great talent like him was went away to the clutches of death due to a silly food habit. It should work as a message for all here, he says. Kamal Haasan said that had earlier planned to remake his Traffic to Tamil but it was not materialized at that time.
