Puthiya Niyamam Collection Report – 12 Days

AK Sajan directorial flick Puthiya Niyamam starred by Mammootty had released on February 12th this year and now completed 12 days of its theater run here in Kerala as well. The film had opened to mixed reviews from both the audience and film critics. It had made a decent opening as well. But later failed to maintain the pace at box office.

As per the latest report from sources, the film had earned around 7 crore rupees from its 12 days of theater run from Kerala. The first week collection of the film is just around 5 crore rupees and after 5 days it had ended up adding almost 2 crore rupees to its gross from here. The film has been showing huge drop in collection in the working days and the holidays or weekend not giving it much better experience either.

The film which is touted as a family thriller had got decent opinion from social Media circles, but not getting the desired crowd response at screens. Most of the morning shows and noon shows are running with poor attendance and evening and night shows not giving it big relief either. The exam month and the great run Maheshinte Prathikaram is having now also affected this flick from Mammootty-Nayanthara team.

Even though the film hold on to most of ots screens after first week, at many places shows were reduced due to poor attendance at cinema halls. It will be very difficult for this film to hold those screens more than 2 or 3 weeks and we can see what happens in the next week as 2 Malayalam films more releasing on this coming Friday.

The latest hot topic or may be the trending topic right now in India is the JNU issue and in Kerala it is now all about Mohanlal’s comment on the issue through his latest blog. Mohanlal not directly said about the issue but he indirectly thrashed all the people who is giving so much importance to these kinds of issues and forgetting the sacrifices made by our Military men who are coming as dead bodies from borders. He said that if India dies then what is the point of us living in it.

He expressed his strong view that nation should come first and all political and other issues only comes under that. We have to take pride in our Nation’s integrity and culture rather than glorifying someone who was punished for working against the country. But some political leaders and political activists here in Kerala had took the words of this legendary actor in wrong sense and they started abusing and insulting him by calling him a BJP supporter.

They had completely misunderstood what he said and don’t even care to read and understand what he said through his blog before criticizing him. But National Medias was come out with their all in all support for Mohanlal. Medias like CNN IBN, Times Now, The Hindu, Times of India, Deccan Chronicle etc come out praising Mohanlal for the courage he showed to express his opinion very clearly in this sensitive issue.

Many eminent people like Dr Subramaniam Swamy had shared Mohanlal’s words as well. People from all across the country is coming out praising Mohanlal and many Bollywood stars also coming out with their great support for Mohanlal’s words. The March issue of the FWD magazine has been unveiled at FWD Power Dinner hosted at Vivanta by Taj in Trivandrum which was indeed a grant event. The special feature of the function is that the chief guest of the function is Jihi Thomson, who is the chief secretary of Kerala now and will retire from his illustrious career this year. His image decorates the cover photo of next month’s FWD magazine as a token of respect to him.

There are a lot of popular people from various fields attended the even and they include Mr. Tom Jose IAS, Additional Chief Secretary- Ministry of Labour and Skills, Mr. S Adikesavan, Chief General Manager of State Bank of Travancore, Dr. Devendra Kumar Dhodawat IAS, Secretary-Department of Food & Civil Supplies, Dr. Vishwas Mehta IAS, Principal Secretary- Revenue & Disaster Management, Loknath Behera DGP- Fire and Rescue, Cinematographer Jomon T John, actor Sreejith Ravi and along with them leading businessmen from all around our state was present at the function.

The FWD power dinner was hosted in association with Rajasree Motors and Mercedes-Benz. The speech of Jiji Thomson was one of the best from him and the guests were absolutely loved it. One of the topic of discussion in social media now is the incident that we saw in the Asianet Film Awards 2016, in which a die hard fan of Chiyan Vikram breached all the security measures there and ran towards him. Even though security tried to force him away from the scene, Vikram stopped the security from doing that and he spent some valuable moments with the one who come to see him taking all those risks. Vikram had took a picture with him and also allowed him to hug and kiss him.

The video went viral in social media and everyone began to praise Vikram for his kind act towards his fan and many had said that it was the moment of the whole function. But then another version of the issue also came in social media saying that it was an incident staged or scripted by Asianet to divert the attention of the audience and thereby increasing their TRP rating. Many had come up with certain examples for that as well.

But in fact, it was a real incident and not a staged one. We Onlookers Media contacted the one who became the center of attraction of all these and he told us what really happened there at the function. His name is Salam and he is a handicapped guy from Kodankodu of Palakkad district. He came all the way from there to see Vikram as he is a die hard fan of him. He also admires YuvRaj Singh and Mammootty and had took photos with them as well earlier.

At Asianet awards he waited till 1 am at night and then made his way to the back of the stage somehow. Later when he got a chance, he ran through the stage and came near Vikram to meet him. Salam says that all that happened was real. He also says that he loves Vikram very much and he was ready to face anything just to see him. He had also went to meet him at his house in 2014 and took a picture with him. He is a lottery seller and handicapped as well as we said above. He wanted to tell everybody that it was not at all a scripted event by Asianet but an incident that really happened because of his love for Chiyan Vikram.

He said that he never felt that he is fading away from here as he never thinks about his influence here. He said that Malayalam cinema is not based on a single person. It is a place where collective effort matters. Even if Mohanlal is not here, Malayalam cinema will continue forever. Mohanlal asks one day we will fade away as death comes to us and then why we are worrying so much about our fame or popularity here.

He says that now- a -days many talented actors, writers and technicians coming to Mollywood and new ideas are flowing in. Earlier it was not the case, as there is only a few writers and actors. Today there are many opportunities for new faces and it is a great period through which Malayalm Cinema is passing on. The big successes that is frequently gracing Mollywood is a sign of that.

Mohanlal said that his prayer is to work with those young and new faces as well. He also given an advise to youngsters that they will get many opportunities, but what that will matter is the consistency they keep. That is the one which will give them the long run in an industry like cinema.

Mollywood film lovers are eagerly waiting for a film from last year or may be from the time of its announcement. It had generated that much anticipation from its very start and it is none other than Pulimurugan starred by the biggest mass hero ever in Mollywood, Mohanlal. This Vysakh directorial big budget film is in its final stage of production as per reports and it will grace the screens on this coming Ramzan month. But every minute details that comes out about the film, is trending now all over social media. The latest one is a 2 second shot from the film that had come out through Asianet Film Awards 2016 video.

Indian’s best stunt master Peter Hein is the action choreographer of this film which has great importance to action scenes. Mohanlal had did all the fight in this film without dupes as well. But the team of the film is shooting the film in utmost secrecy and they are not letting out even shooting spot pictures from the sets apart from the odd leaked ones that comes through some fan pages. Only the first look poster is the one that came out officially yet.

But in Asianet Film Awards function of this year, while they were showing a video about Peter Hein to honor him, they given a 2-3 second glimpse of an action scene in which Mohanlal and peter Hein is doing an action sequence and it was a breath taking sequence as well. Now, that screen shot has been trending all over social media and even outside Kerala, people took notice of that.

The action scene has similarities with Hurricaranna movements in WWE and even one of their fan pages is saluting Mohanlal. They are saying Mohanlal is just awesome as he did that move in this age of 55. They also said they are also eagerly waiting to see that stunt sequence on big screen and love to see it in an Indian film as well. Puli Murugan on the way and get ready for something very big.

Theri is one of the most awaited Tamil of this year starring none other than Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay and artist like Amy Jackson and Samantha. This cop story which had made with a heavy budget is directed by Atlee and it will be releasing on this coming April month with great hopes riding on it.

Another film that stands head to head with Theri in its anticipation level was the film named Kabali, starred by none other than the Thalaiva of Kollywood, Super Star Rajinikanth. This action thriller is directed by Pa Renjith and it also may come in this coming April or May as per reports. But it seems that before the box office fight begins, Theri had taken a lead already. As per reports coming in, Vijay’s Theri had done a better pre-release business than Rajinikanth’s Kabali.

As per reports, Theri got a distribution right of 6.5 crore from Kerala and Kabali got 6 crore as distribution right here. If its true, then it underlines the fact that Vijay is the Tamil actor with most number of fans here in Kerala and the craze for his films will continue here. Both films were directed by youngsters who impressed with critically acclaimed commercials successes. Atlee’s previous flick was Raja Rani and Pa Renjith’s previous flick was Madras. So it will also a fight between two young guns behind the camera as well.

The details of who bought the distribution rights of these film in Kerala is still not revealed. It is heard that it has been bought by the same team as a package and they had given 12.5 crore in total for Theri and Kabali. Both films were produced by the same producer, Kalaipuli S Thanu and it will be a bonanza for him as both films competes in the market to win over the other. It says that he is planning to make the films releasing with only 15 days gap between the releasing dates.

Anyway, the official confirmation will come very soon and we will update it once it comes.

A rumor now spreading all around social media and if it is true, then it will be a good news for the fans of actor Indrajith and film lovers of Kerala as a whole. As per report Indrajith is all set to play the life of Late actor Jayan on silver screen and the film will be directed by Aashiq Abu as well. Jayan is one of the most popular actor we ever had in Mollywood and considered as first action hero of Mollywood as he is popular for his stunts without dupes. He died also doing a stunt without dupe in a film named Kolilakkam long years back. But still the craze for his style, his action scenes and his dialogues remains in mollywood, specially among youngsters here.

No other reports about the film is not yet came. The doubt about the project is that Aashiq Abu said in his recent interview that his next film will be with Dulquer Salmaan in the lead. Everybody thinks that if this happens it will be a turning point in the career of Indrajith as an actor and as a star. Indrajith is considered as one of the finest actors in the young generation of Mollywood. His younger brother and young super star Prithviraj had also played some real life characters in his life such as that of JC Daniel and Moideen. He is also going to play Noushad from Benyamin’s book and also said to be playing the real life character of a dumb and deaf guy who had made an airplane of his own.

Anyway let’s hope that these reports were true and Indrajith will get the role of his life through this film. It was through Aashiq Abu film Salt and Pepper that young actor Asif Ali got his break and Fahad Fazil also got one through 22 female Kottayam by Aashiq Abu.
