Jalam Audio Launch Stills

Jalam, the movie shot to fame through the entry of oscar nomination list of India is all set to release here in Kerala. It had already won many appreciation in film festivals and film awards. The special screening of the film also happened at Trivandrum few days back. This M Padmakumar directorial, TS Suresh Babu scripted film had its audio launch function on 15th January at IMA Hall Kochi.

The function was blessed with the presence of esteemed guests like director Sibi Malayil, Sohan Roy, Prakash Bare, Priyanka Nair, Tovino Thomas, Ouseppachan, Nadirsha, Madhu Balakrishnan, and director M Padma Kumar. We have the superb stills from the grand function and have a look at it.

Dulquer Salmaan starrer film Charlie had got great critical appreciation and Dulquer Salmaan had got great appreciation from many for his superb performance as Charlie in the film directed by Martin Prakkat. Many had said that this was Dulquer Salmaan’s best performance till date and popular film maker like B Unnikrishnan even said that there were shades of vintage Mohanlal characters in the characterization of Charlie and Dulquer Salmaan had played that very well as well. But now the latest appreciation had come from the all-rounder of Malayalam cinema, Balachandra Menon. After watching Charlie, he said that his good friend Mammootty can now proud of his son Dulquer Salmaan as he had delivered such a good performance in the film Charlie.

Balachandra Menon had posted on his Facebook page that Charlie was really a great experience. He said that he knows Martin Prakkat from very long time as he once came for Vanitha Magazine for a photoshoot with Balachandra Menon years back. He said that the new generation gives great importance to each shot of the film and the camera work done by Jomon T John was just amazing to the least. He said that it was his frames that gave life to the whole film apart from the superb performance of Dulquer Salmaan. Balachandra Menon said that he want to appreciate Dulquer by giving him a pat on his back.

Balachandra Menon also said that the character Charlie has similarities to a character played by him years ago. It was a character named Anadhan which means orphan. He played that in the film named Aarante Mulla Kochumulla. It was a character similar to Charlie who comes in a village all of a sudden or out of the blue. He made reforms in the society there with whatever he can do to make it right. He interfered in every matter in that village and made good changes to all that went wrong there. Charlie has similarities to that character

The breaking news that yesterday rocked Mollywood was the revelation of actor/director P Sreekumar he script based on the character Karnan from Mahabharatha is going to made as a Mollywood film and megastar Mammootty is going to play that role. Madhupal is all set to direct the movie as per reports and they are trying to begin the shoot of the film within the coming few months. As per reports the film will have a budget around 50 crore rupees and the name of the one who is producing it is not yet revealed by the writer of the film.

P Sreekumar said that the film will have 100 days of Shoot and 50 crore budget as per early estimates. The Pre-production works is already started and director Madhupal had already visited the locations where they wish to shoot the film. They had kept all the details about the film secret till now and it was P Sreekumar who reveled it through a Television program recently. The film will have 4 schedules and the major locations of the film will be Rajastan, Hyderabad and Andhra Pradesh. P Sreekumar said that they will announce the title very soon and the Pooja of the film will also held at the earliest.

P Sreekumar said that he had planned this film almost 18 years ago and his first choice for Karnan was Mohanlal. He loved the screenplay and agreed to do that as well. But when Mammootty showed his interest to do the film after reading the script, Mohanlal happily withdrawn from the project saying that it will be better if Mammootty does the character. But due to many problems regarding the production, specially due to the big budget canvas, the film got delayed all these years. Only now a producer came to invest on the movie.

Sreekumar said that at first when he completed the script, the film had almost a length around 5 hour. Later he trimmed it and now it has almost 2.45 hours of length. He also said that Mammootty’s performance will be the main highlight of this film.

Prithviraj is continuing with his authority in Kerala box office with his latest release Pavada too. The film directed by Marthandan and scripted by Bipin Chandran had opened to positive response from all over and as per reports audience had received the film with both hands. The box office gross of the film also indicates that the film will end up as another Super success of Prithvi Raj and it will be his 4th hit in a row as well. As per the sources, the film had collected close to 4 crore rupees from its 3 fay run at box office.

On the first day it had earned rupees 1.09 crore as per reports. It does not created much hype before the release and that is evident in a comparatively low first day collection of the film starring Prithviraj, who is the current sensation here in the industry. But the positive mouth publicity that the film had got on its first day had increased the collection in the next days. Saturday and Sunday showed good hike in its earnings and on both days it had done a business close to 1.4-1.5 crore. The Holidays helped the film as well. As per reports it had earned close to 31 Lakhs from its 3 day run at Multiplexes alone.

The film is produced by Maniyanpilla Raju and this is the 10th film he is producing in his career. Pavada is the second Prithviraj film he had produced and Mohanlal was the hero of 5 of his production ventures. The success of the film had given Marthandan also his first genuine success and it also given a sigh of relief for the director who had suffered a great setback last year with the disaster he had got with Acha Din.

Anoop Menon also deserves credit for the success of this film as his performance as Pavada Babu, the title character is one of the highlights of the film as well. Prithviraj and Anoop Menon had sizzled as Pambu Joy and Pavada Babu and audience had received it with applause as well.

Now the hot topic in social media is the character of Karnan which is doing by two actors in our industry at the same time. 2 days back Prithviraj-RS Vimal team launched their next film titled Karnan in Dubai and they had already released the first look motion poster of the film as well. RS Vimal said that they will start the shooting once the scrip is completed and the film is a 50 crore budget film financed by Dubai businessman Venu Kunnappilly under his banner of Kavya Films.

Mammootty starrer flick based on the same character is scripted by popular actor and writer P Sreekumar and will be directed by Madhupal. It also said to have 50 crore budget and producer’s name is not yet disclosed. But now another interesting information had come out about the film and script writer P Sreekumar said this himself. It was in fact Mohanlal who was the first choice of the writer. Later Mohanlal gave the character happily to Mammootty who was also very much interested to do the film after he read it.

P Sreekumar first went to Mohanlal with the script many years ago and Mohanlal agreed to do the film based on the character of Karnna as he loved the screenplay very well. But due to the big canvas of the film, production got a bit delayed and at that time Mammootty heard about the script and once he read it sitting in front of Sreekumar. After reading the script Mammootty was very much impressed and he said that he would love to do the film. When Mohanlal comes to know about Mammootty’s wish to do it, he happily said that the character will suit him and he happily given that project to Mammootty.

P Sreekumar also said that earlier M T Vasudevan Nair was approached to write the script of this film and later he told Sreekumar to write it himself because of his other commitments. Director Hariharan also wanted to make it as a film earlier. Prithviraj was also interested to hear the script some years back.

A report is coming now from Mollywood and from sources we learned that Mega star Mammootty may lose the opportunity to play the epic character of Karnan. Actor/director Sreekumar in a recent media interview said that he is planning a project for Mammootty and it will be based on Mahabharatha’s one of the epic characters named Karnan. But the latest reports says that Mammootty might lose the opportunity to play that role because a film based on Karnan with the title Karnan is already announced by R S Vimal-Prithviraj team last day.

The Prithviraj- RS Vimal film is a 50 crore budget project which will be financed by Dubai based producer Venu Kunnappilly. The scripting is in progress and the shoot will start after it got completed. The film is officially launched now and the first look motion poster is already out. It had also become a topic of discussion among film lovers and in social media as well. P Sreekumar who had directed a film with Mammootty earlier named Vishnu in 1994 said that he was behind this character Karnan for many years. He was travelling and studying about the character for a long time and the planning about the project is on with Mammootty in the lead.

But now the billon dollar question is that whether they will continue with the project even after the launch of the RS Vimal-Prithviraj film. If they decides to drop the project, then it will be a lost opportunity for Mammootty to play yet another great character in his career. Anyway the Prithviraj project based on Karnan is full on and we have to wait for more details about the Mammootty-P Sreekumar project based on the same character.

We earlier reported the news that Mammootty is doing another Johny Antony directorial film this year. It was titled as Thoppil Joppan and Mammootty is all set to play an Achayan role again in this film. The film is written by Nishad Koya who had written films like Ordinary and Madhura Naranga for director Sugeeth. Nishad Koya said that Thoppil Joppan will be a film for Mammootty fans, a film of fans and a film by fans. He says that the shoot will start soon and it will be a film strictly for fans.

Johny Antony and Mammootty had last done a film together in 2012 and it was the film named Thappana. Even though Thappana did not made much impact in box office, this pair had earlier gave success like Thuruppu Gulan in 2006. They had also done a film named Pattanathil Bhootham as well which was also not well received. But this time Johny Antony will make to get things right with a great success with Mammootty in the lead. There were earlier rumors that Johny Antony all set to do a film with Mammootty, written by Benny P Nayarambalam and it was titled as Thiruttu Gramam. Now it seems that they had dropped that project and landed on this new one Thoppil Joppan.

Mammootty is playing a Kabadi team owner in this film named Thoppil Joppan as per reports. Mammootty is popular for his many super hit Achayan roles even though his last few that kind of roles were not well received. He last played those roles in films like Nasrani by Joshiey and Praise The Lord by Shibu Gangadharan. So for Mammootty too this film Thoppil Joppan will be chance to make it all right with his Achayan role once again and make it a trend like Kottayam Kunjachan.

Anyway fans can eagerly wait for this one as the writer himself says that its for them to celebrate and enjoy their star Mammootty and it is strictly for them. The film may start in April as per the latest report.

Mohanlal and Thala Ajith to play the lead in next Vishnuvardhan flick ?

For last few days, a rumor is spreading in social media and it says that Mollywood Superstar Mohanlal is all set to play the lead in a Tamil film again and this time with Thala Ajith, who is also playing the lead of the film along with Mohanlal. Reports says that the film will be directed by popular Kollywood director Vishnuvardhan who had given us films like Arinthum Ariyamalum. Billa, Aarambham etc. News suggests that the film which has Mohanlal and Thala Ajith playing the lead will be a historical film and the plot will be revolved around Brahadeeshwara Temple history in Tamil Nadu.

The news came as a delight to the fans of both the actors. Interestingly Ajith is called Thala Ajith in Tamil Nadu and fans here calls Mohanlal as the Thala of Malayalam cinema. Now they are celebrating the news as they want both Mohanlal and Ajith to be scene together on screen. Mohanlal had acted with Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay in 2014 in a film named Jilla directed by Nesan. It was a success but there are some complaints among the fans of Mohanlal that his screen space has been compromised for making Vijay the hero of the film.

But they believes that if Mohanlal and Ajith comes in a film with equally important roles then it will be something very special for South Indian cinema. Thala Ajith is now in rest after a surgery he had to undergo just after the release of his last film Vedhalam. As per reports he will start filming for his next flick in this coming May. As per reports he had given dates to both Vishnuvardhan and Siva. Siva is the one who directed Vedhalam and Veeram with Ajith and both films were super hits as well.

Mohanlal is also busy with his multiple projects and he is doing two Telugu films as well this year. This project of his with Ajith is not yet a confirmed one and we all have to wait for the official confirmation of the news which expected to come soon.
