Mammootty-Sathyan Anthikkad film on cards ?
Sathyan Anthikkad may be called the one and only minimum guarantee director in Malayalam cinema for almost past 30 years. The family support his films get here is awesome and he is always making medium budget films which relates to the day-to-day life of ordinary malayalees and people loves his films as well. When critics says that Sathyan Anthikkad films are like buses which always runs on the same route or in the same direction, they forgets the fact that his films always wins at box office and attracts the audience. That means the bus never gets break down and always reaches the destination safely. Sathayn Anthikkad was recently in news when he praised Mammootty and his latest film Pathemari. Now some reports coming in that Sathyan Anthikkad is planning a film with Mega Star Mammootty after the gap of long years.
It was in 1997 that they had done a film together last time and it was named Oral Mathram which was not well received at box office. Sathyan Anthikkad had directed most of his films with Mohanlal and Jayaram as these actors suits for the light hearted family films he makes.
Even though Sathyan Anthikkad had directed a few films with Mammootty in the lead like Kalikalam, Ardham, Kanalkkattu, No. 1 Snehatheeram Bangalore North, Golanthara Varthakal, Sreedharante Onnam Thiru Muriv, Oral Mathram etc not a single one got the success which he got through Mohanlal and Jayaram starrer films of his. Only Kalikkalam had got a moderate success in this list and there was even a talk in the industry that Mammootty- Sathyan Anthikkad pair was not a lucky one. Because even though their association ended up in failures, all of them are good films which was later got great following through mini screen telecast.
Sathyan Anthikkad’s next film is with Fahad Fazil and after that he is planning a family subject for Mammootty as per reports. As usual his previous film also was a box office success named Ennum Eppozhum which had his most favorite Actor Mohanlal in the lead. Sathyan Anthikkad always said that he consider his life blessed only because of 3 reasons and associating with Mohanlal is one among them as he consider Mohanlal as the best actor he ever saw and ever worked with.
Ennu Ninte Moideen effect : Prithviraj raised his remuneration from 1 to 1.50 crores ?
Prithviraj is really shining great in the Malayalam cinema box office now with two of his films are going great at the same time. Till September this year, Prithviraj not at all had a good year and the only bright spot was the film Picket 43 which got good critical appreciation as well as moderate success in box office. Otherwise, he was going through a lean patch. In August, he faced the biggest debacle of his career with the failure of Double Barrel and with its failure he had two disasters back to back. The previous one was Ivide directed by Shyama Prasad which released in May. Even though both are Multi-starrer film, the responsibility fell on his shoulders as he is the most popular among them.
But From September 19 all that was changed and Prithviraj is back with a bang. His film directed by RS Vimal, titled Ennu Ninte Moideen had released and went great in opinion and collection. It has been hailed as a classic from Mollywood as well as on the way to one of the biggest hits Mollywood had ever seen. It has already crossed rupees 30 crores as per reports and entered the top 5 grossers list as well.
Then came Amar Akbar Anthony which is a multi-starrer with Jayasurya and Indrajith is also playing lead roles along with Prithviraj. This flick too now on its way to blockbuster status amassing positive reviews and dream gross at the box-office. If, reports are to be believed, the Moideen effect and the Amar Akbar Anthony success had made Prithviraj to raise his remuneration from 1 crore rupees to 1. 5 crore rupees. Now Only Dileep with 2 crore rupees, Mammootty with 2.5 crore rupees and Mohanlal with 3 crore rupees remuneration is in front of him as a star and in star value.
Earlier this year Nivin Pauly also said to have raised his remuneration from 75 lakhs to 1 crore rupees after the dream success of his film Premam which earned a total revenue of 60 crores.
No regret in the failure of Double Barrel as it is an experimental film, says Prithviraj
Prithviraj had come back to winning ways after a series of debacles he faced just after the success of Sapthamasree Thaskaraha that released on last year Onam season. Then, he had faced almost 5 failures at box office and the biggest of them all was Double Barrel directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery. It was big because it was a multi-starrer film which made using great time and money.
It is considered as one of the biggest budget films made in Mollywood and Prithviraj had other reasons also to feel let down by the failure of the film and it was that he was the financer of the movie as well. August Cinemas, of which he is also an owner and partner along with Santhosh Sivan, Shaji Nadeshan and Arya financed the film. But Prithviraj says that he had no regret in the failure of the film at box office and also not feeling that he had made a wrong decision to finance the film.
Prithviraj says that Double barrel was an experimental film and they all know that fact right from the beginning of the project. That is why he took up the production of the film as he did not want any other producer to feel the burden and difficulty of financing such a big budget experimental film and to be affected by the loss if it not worked according to their plans. He says that the financial loss he had to suffer was not making him regret the decision to finance it as he had taken that decision with great clarity of thought.
Prithviraj says that he believes that an actor’s role not ends in just performing as the character. So, he try to involve in all matters regarding his films and because of that he is also responsible for the success and failure of the films he acts. He never wants to hide away from that responsibility as well. In fact, he is enjoying that responsibility as an artist and a person working in the film field.
Mohanlal-Prithviraj combo in Randamoozham ?
Randamoozham, the epic novel written by one of the most popular and honored writers in Indian literature and cinema, MT Vasudevan Nair, is in the news for last few years related to the reports of its celluloid version. The reports of making it into a film came years before and it was planned by Gokulam movies by Gokulam Gopalan who produced the biggest budget film ever made in Malayalam, Pazhassiraja. At that that time it is said that Hariharan will direct the movie version of the novel and it will be scripted by MT Vasudevan Nair himself. Only Mohanlal was selected to play the lead role of Bheema in the film. But later reports came that it is dropped due to the budget issue and also due to the difficulty in making such an epic novel into a single film.

Now reports are coming in that it is not dropped and it will start next year after Mohanlal finishes his prior commitments. The film will be made in 5 languages including English and the production will have Hollywood assistance as well. There are rumors that it will be directed by Sreekumar instead of Hariharan, who had directed the Kalyan Jewellers advertisements.
But the biggest rumor that doing its rounds in Mollywood now is that Prithviraj will also join the film along with Mohanlal from Mollywood and he might be playing a character opposite to Mohanlal. As per reports Prithvi Raj had already agreed to play the antagonistic character in this film and if it happens it will be the first time Mohanlal and Prithviraj share the screen together.
The names such as Manju Warrier, Amitabh Bachchan, Allu Arjun, Vikram, Venkatesh etc being discussed in online media platform as rumors are saying they are also in the cast list of this film. AR Rahman said to be the music composer of this film and Santhosh Sivan will crank the camera. Still there is no official confirmation about the movie from the concerned people and all are treated as a rumor now. But the anticipation is raising each day as the report of making the epic novel into a film had come alive again.

Prithviraj-Jeethu Joseph film to start in this coming December ?
One of the much awaited actor-director combination is coming again to make a visual treat for all of us. It is the Prithviraj and Jeethu Joseph team. They had joined together for the first time in the film named Memories in which Prithviraj played a Cop who is addicted to Alcohol. The flick was a super hit at box office and also well appreciated by critics as well. The film released in 2013 was considered as one of the best films in Prithviraj’s career and also one of the best investigation thrillers in mollywood film history as well.
Right after that Jeethu Joseph had made Drishyam starring Mohanlal which released in the same year December and broke all existing collection records in Malayalam cinema and set new ones which is now seems almost impossible to broke by any other. Jeethu Joseph had later done Life of Jossootty with Dileep in the lead which amassed good critical appreciation but not made a big impact at box office as people expected another Drishyam from him. Now as per reports the Prithviraj flick which will be directed by Jeethu Joseph may start in this year December. The shoot will start after Prithvi completes the ongoing film of his named Darwinte Parinamam. As per sources the film will reach the screens on next year Vishu season. The film said to be a crime thriller is untitled as of now and the details will be announced just before the shoot starts.

Mammootty-AK Sajan film first look and title arrived and it’s Puthiya Niyamam
Megastar Mammootty yesterday told through his Facebook page that the first look poster and official title of his upcoming film directed by AK Sajan will be published today through his official Facebook page. Everybody was waiting for the whole day to have a glimpse of it and as promised by the mega star the first look poster and title of the film had arrived in the evening through his Facebook page. The title of the film is Puthiya Niyamam. Earlier there were reports that it may be titled as Solamante Koodaram. Later many rumors had come about the title of the film.
Now the first look poster of the film is going viral in social media platform as expected. The film is scripted by the director AK Sajan himself and it is a family thriller as per the reports. Nayanthara plays the female lead in the flick opposite Mammootty and she is playing the role of Mammootty’s character’s wife.
Mammootty’s character name is Louis Pothen who is an advocate by profession. He is practicing in the family court and concentrating more on solving the problem outside the court if possible. He is a great follower of communism and also a popular figure in the society with his great public oratory skills. His wife Vasuki is a kathakali artist and they had an inter-caste marriage after a love relationship.
The flick focuses on the problems that happens in their family life which has connections with Louie Pothen’s professional life as well. The release date of the film will be announced later and with its first look and title released, it had already become a much awaited one for the fans of Mammootty and film lovers of Kerala.
Dhanush to finance Premam Tamil remake with Vijay Sethupathy in the lead ?
Premam cinema which released in this year May had still making news. The flick which had become the second highest grosser in Malayalam film history had went through a lot of controversies as well along with the appreciation it had got from the viewers at the time of its release. The success of this film had given an overnight stardom to Nivin Pauly and director Alphonse Puthren. The actresses such as Sai Pallavi, Anupama Prameshwaran and Madonna Sebastain also become the most popular celebrities through the big success the film had got. After 5 months of its release, the flick is been in the news for its Tamil remake reports. As per reports the Tamil remake of this film will be financed by popular Kollywood actor Dhanush and the lead role in the film will be done by Vijay Sethupathy, a new acting sensation in Tamil cinema industry.
Earlier there was news that Dhanush will star in the Tamil remake version of this film but now the reports saying that Dhanush is all set to purchase the remake right of the film Premam.
