Mohanlal Mass again, Kanal releasing in 190 screens all India

Once again Mohanlal showing to the world that why he is been called the biggest super star Malayalm cinema ever witnessed in its whole history till now. Tomorrow the film starring Mohanlal named Kanal is releasing all over India. It is directed by M Padmakumar and scripted by Suresh Babu who had come together in 2010 with Mohanlal to give a super hit name Shikkar. That team is all set to rock the screens of Kerala from tomorrow.

The film is not created much hype before the release as usual Mohanlal films. Usually Mohanlal films creates mega mass hype and unbelievable anticipation level in Kerala. But Kanal may be due to its subject or making style, does not made that much hype hype. And the film is releasing in a tight releasing time when many films alredau running successfully and some more films coming next day as well. Still it got 106 screens in Kerala alone and 190 screens all over India. That is Mohanlal for you.

The huge fan base of him assures great initial to his films and even form the first weekend collection most of his films ends up financially safe. He is also the one who gets the maximum value in satellite right market as well. His last two films Loham and Ennum Eppozhum become box office success due to this terrific star value of him even after got mixed reviews and failed to satisfy neutral audience.

John David, the character he played in Kanal was said to be one which exploit his mastery over the under acting method and on which is using his skill set as an actor rather than aimed at the fan base he has here.

Domination of Tamil films on decline in Mollywood

Before the start of this year there was a trend in Malayalam cinema industry that big budget Tamil films dominated the proceedings here. Big Tamil films come here and take away great number of screens for its release and then plunder our box office collections as well. People were also behind such films from Tamil which is made on a big budget and Tamil stars like Vijay, Surya, Vikram etc were followed here just like Malayalees following Mammootty and Mohanlal. Tamil young actors found more fans here for them meanwhile the young stars of Malayalam film industry just looked out of source to match with them. But from this year the trends changed quite dramatically here in Mollywood as we are seeing a drastic decline of the market for Tamil cinema here in Mollywood now.

The first big film came this year was Shankar directorial film Ai starred by Vikram. Even though the film made a good collection here due to the curiosity it developed among the audience about its three year shoot and the dedication level of Vikram, totally the film received only average to below average opinion here from the audience. Then came the big film Masss starred by Suriya, directed by Venkat Prabhu. That bombed at box office here and bowed down before Malayalam film named Premam starred by Nivin Pauly.

In July came Kamal Haasan starrer Papanasam which was the Tamil version of Mollywood’s biggest hit Drishyam starred by Mohanlal. But it did not make much business here even though was a hit in Kollywood. Then films like Dhanush’s Maari, Ilayathalapathy Vijay starrer Puli came and now another Vikram starrer 10 Enradhukulla. All received bad opinion and has not made any impact in box office collections. The most heartening fact is that all these movies bowed down before different Malayalam films.

Malayalam cinema industry is now going through a great period as well with each week we are getting quality films and people have to choose from it. That’s a great sign for Malayalam cinema. Leading stars like Mammootty, Mohanlal and young stars like Prithviraj and Nivin Pauly are giving commercial successes along with other actors as well.

Even though some good films like Thani Oruvan, Kakka Muttai came from Kollywood to Mollywood this year, they could not make any impact here. The case of Telugu films is the same except Baahubali which was treated more of as an epic Indian film than a Telugu masala flick. This trend is going good and as a lover of Malayalam films each and every Malayalee is wishing the same.Malayalam cinema is now the first preference for us and all other language films are only a priority that can be easily avoidable now.

These words really show how much Prithviraj is connected to his family and love his daughter. In the statement he has even pointed out that his daughter is a daddy’s girl.

Prithviraj also says that before Alankrita was born he was that person who was always angry, disturbed and impatient. Pointing out a situation from his life, he continues that after the tough, tiring shooting schedules when he was sleeping or resting he never liked anyone to disturb as he used to shout at them with full of anger. But now it is different, he says that now after Alankrita has come to his life she has always been there when am sleeping and she disturbs me, I never get angry.

Instead he feels more loved when she comes near him and that’s what changed it all. It’s like Alankrita has successfully changed the perspective of Prithviraj in every way as it is really evident in these course of time. As we all know, children are the epitome of innocence and love. And children are capable of making a person matured and understanding others. So the credit completely goes to the daddy-daughter, Alankrita.

Also Alankrita has made some effect on her father Prithviraj as he is on his back to back successful ventures. Ennu Ninte Moideen will grace GCC from tomorrow

Ennu Ninte Moideen now rocking the Kerala Box office register with dream gross collections which already came close to 30 crore rupees and in all India gross it had surpassed the big successes like Pazhassiraja and Twenty 20 as well. Now it looking forward to break the collections of Bangalore Days in long run and also posing a little threat to Premam total gross as well which is around 50 crores. The reason for the threat it can pose to Premam is that, Ennu Ninte Moideen is releasing in Gulf countries (GCC area) from tomorrow and because of the great response the film had got here, it is sure that the flick is bound to get great reception there as well.

From its all Indian collections including Kerala, it had covered rupees 32 crores already and if it gets this kind of reception in GCC too, then Bangalore Days collection will be broken within weeks and Then comes Premam gross in front of the eyes of Ennu Ninte Moideen. Premam got almost 10 crore from outside Kerala and worldwide as Moideen too can get that or may be more than that.

Drishyam went to that far because it had got around 20 crore from outside kerala as well. Because it had a great run all around India and from worldwide as well it had got unbelievable collection. Now Ennu Ninte Moideen’s GCC release will help it to widen its market and thereby come to the 3rd spot in the all- time biggest hits within the gap of 2 weeks if things go well.

People in GCC are waiting to see the Moideen –Kanchanamala epic love story on silver screen and from tomorrow their wait will be over. This immortal love story will spread to middle East from tomorrow. The release of the film in USA, UK and other countries is not yet confirmed and that can also make its market bigger and make its chances bigger as well to get to the top. If the pirated prints not made its toll there then Ennu Ninte moideen will have a blast in all these place as well.

10 Enradhukulla Review

10 Enradhukulla, the Chiyaan Vikram starrer flick had released all over today and in Kerala also it got a fairly good release with many centers. There is always a notion among the film lovers that without Shankar. Vikram as a star had not much value in Kollywood and here as well. Everybody knows that he is a great actor and his commitment and dedication level to his work is damn too high. But he never really able to convert it into stardom as many others had done in Tamil film industry. And this time Chiyaan Vikram had teamed up with Vijay Milton for the above mentioned film and all set to strike with a super racy film as the claims it to be. Vijay Milton himself had written the story, screenplay and also cranked the camera as well. The flick has been financed by AR Murugadoss and Fox star studios.

Vikram comes in this film as a professional car driver who does daredevil car stunts and who never misses any assignments given to him. The major turn of events in the story happens when Vikram’s nameless character undertakes a journey with Shakkeela, the character played by Samantha. Villains of the film comes in the story one by one with their own motives and Pashupathy’s character provides some funny moments as well with his mannerisms. The journey they undertook is from Chennai to Mussoorie form the major part and idea of the story. But the second half of the film stretched here and there and the climax part was also looked stretched more than what it was needed.

Vikram done a cool job as the car driver who is a master at daredevil car stunts and Samantha also looks cute and will attract youngsters with her appearance and naughty character. The action sequences were choreographed well but the VFX part was not very much upto the mark. The narration also looked not much convincing at many parts and the songs my D imman was raised only to an average level. The placement of songs really killed the flow of the film as well specially the one with Charmi Kaur. The screenplay not has much depth in it and as a director Vijay Milton’s grip was not fully on the narration as well. But as a cameraman he gave some good visuals.

As a whole 10 Enradhukulla is only an average affair for Vikarm Fans and he can deliver better as per his standards.

Siddique Lal team’s King Liar started with Dileep-Madonna Sebastian pair

After making so much news about the reunion, Siddique-Lal team finally came together again and the new film of them had started with Popular actor Dileep in the lead and Premam fame heroine Madonna in the female lead. The flick has been titled as King Liar and as per reports it will come to you all in this coming Christmas season. The Pooja function and switch on ceremony of the film had held at Kochi last day and the shoot will start from coming days in fast pace.

Siddique and Lal is uniting after 20 years as their last venture together was Mannar Mathayi Speaking which released in 1995. For that film they written the script together and it was directed by Mani C Kappan. Their last association as directors was 1993 film Kabuliwala. Siddique had directed two films Friends and Hitler later independently for the production house of Lal as well.

Siddique-Lal combination came to the scene by writing the screenplay of Mohanlal- Sathyan Anthikkad film Pappan Priyappetta Pappan in 1986. They had written the story of Mohanlal-Sreenivasan-Sathyan Anthikkad super hit Nadodikattu in 1987 as well. Their first film as directors came in 1989 titled as Ramji Rao Speaking which was a great success. Another interesting facts about Siddique-Lal films is that they always used English titles for their film and not even a single Malayalam title till now. The new film also follows the same path with the title King Liar.

This film King Liar tells the story of a person named Sathya Narayanan who is the master of lies and the incidents happens in his life. Sathya Narayanan’s character is played by Dileep. The financer of the film is ouseppachan Valakkuzhy who had associated with this pair from their starting time in mollywood and it was he who brought back this pair together again. As per reports this film is not a direction venture for both. Siddique wrote the script and Lal directing it.

Siddique was recently in the news for dropping a Fahad Fazil project and Lal as per report all set to do a Mohanlal film after King Liar for Ashirvad Cinemas.

Ennu Ninte Moideen surpassed Pazhassiraja and Twenty 20 in total gross !

Ennu Ninte Moidden is going in a cruising mode as far as the box office collections is concerned. From the last estimated figures we got it says that the film had crossed 29 + crore rupees in 30 days. But that is only the collection from Kerala. The rest of India collection is estimated to be around 3-4 crore rupees and that makes its gross up to 32 crore. Mammootty film Pazhassiraja and Multi-star hit Twenty 20 had got a total revenue including worldwide collection around 30 crore.

As per reports the total revenue of Pazhassiraja including the rights of the film it is 32 crores and for Twenty 20 it is 33 crore. When calculating it Ennu Ninte Moideen is already surpassed Pazhassiraja and Twenty 20 collection by a narrow margin. But the film is still running. Now Ennu ninte Moideen is at the 4th spot in the list of all-time top grossers of Malayalam cinema history which is led by Drishyam which got 75 crore revenue (66 crore worldwide gross + 8-9 crores from various rights), Premam which got 60 crores (50 crores worldwide collection and 9-10 crores through various rights) and Bangalore Days which got 48 crores (39 crores from worldwide collections and 8-9 crores from various rights).

Prithviraj starrer Amar Akbar Anthony which has Indrajith and Jayasurya as well is posing threat to Ennu Ninte Moideen now in box office as the latest film is getting good reviews and more occupancy status than Moideen. The collection is dropping surely but not in a drastic manner. But by this weekend it can drop a little bit as well because of the release of Mohanlal starrer Kanal and Aashiq Abu Directorial Rani Padmini.

Now the target of Ennu Ninte Moideen will be to beat Bangalore Days collection which is around 38 crores and in total revenue status which is 48 crores. It possible that it can come close to Premam total revenue as well but looks difficult from the outset. Anyway let’s wait and see how Ennu Ninte Moideen fares in the box-office in the coming weeks.

Nizhalattam film festival on its way

Nizhalattam is an organization based in Trivandrum and it is a forum of people related to film industry such as documentary, short films, designing and photography etc and some are already working in feature films as well. They want to make the dream of the aspiring youngsters and film lovers come true and make them enter to the world of movies. They all set to finance low cost films, short films and want to implement some methods to develop low cost films as well.

The supports people of any age who loves cinema to make their dream come true by financing short films and theirs is a friendship group to encourage cinema. The first edition of the Nizhalattam film festival had took place in 2013. The 2015 edition which is the third edition of the Nizhalattam film festival will take place at Kanakakunnu Palace Trivandrum from October 21 to 25. Art and exhibition will also take place there along with it.

It will have feature films, short films and documentaries in the film festival. The participating ones in the feature film section is Lukka Chuppi, Kanyaka Talkies and Unto the desk. Many short films and documentaries such as Chembai-My discovery of a legend, Dream 2, Malfunction, Oru Deshathinte Kala, Sahyaputhri, Dukhaputhri, One Qube, Matha Pitha Guru Daivam, Tug of War, Aanakkaryam, Pravasi, Brush Stock Life, Chila Nerkkazhchakaletc. Films Like Ladoo, Choonda, Oru Madakka Yathra, Niyogam, Kaliyil Alpam Karyam, Njangalum, The Error and Trail, Mrithyunjayam etc were part of the official selection list in the festival. Oruthan, 100 Thousand, Night Muller, Open Your Mind, Asuran, Conscinse, Soojiyum Noolum, Free Birds, Alert, Ente Balyam, Adayalam, Diary, Kattum Kolum, Sera Dekho are some other participants as well.
