Debutant director to approach court against Meera Jasmine

A week back one of the news had become a topic of discussion in social Media and it was about director Kamal’s words against popular actress Meera Jasmine. Kamal in his interview to a popular media said that it was very hard to tolerate Meera Jasmine as a person and she does not even know how to behave properly to others. Kamal in his interview said that Meera Jasmine had insulted many of his collegues and even the legend Mohanlal had to face insult from Meera Jasmine ’s attitude on sets. Kamal also said that even though she is a very talented actress he will never again work with the one who does not care for others and other people’s feeling.

Now a debutant director also came hit out against Meera Jasmine and the report is that he is going to approach the court against Meera Jasmine. The name of that debutant director is Manoj Alunkal and his first film had released last week and its name was Ithinumappuram. Manoj said that he has to face a lot of insult and mental torture due to the behavior of Meera Jasmine during the shoot of the film.

Manoj Alunkal said that because of Meera Jasmine’s behavior the shoot of his film has to be delayed to almost 1 year. She was very much obstinate about everything and she never behaved properly on sets. She always comes late at the set and created problems for other artists and technicians as well. The shoot of the film has to be adjusted according to her availability as she was unavailable most of the time. Even the climax part as well was filmed according to her comfort. She comes late to the set and goes early as well.

The film had released after a lot of delay and troubles. Meera Jasmine not even care to participate in the promotion programs of the film as well. Manoj Alunkal had already filed a complaint against Meera Jasmine in film producers association of Kerala even before the release of the film and now he says that he will move to court as well against the actress with the support of the team behind the film.

Universal star Mohanlal is going great gun as far as the commercial successes are concerned as he is considered as the one and only actor in Mollywood who can guarantee a profit to the producer of the film even when the response of the film is bad unfortunately. In star value, this man is the emperor of box office as well as satellite rights. As Sandra Thomas, one of the owner of Friday Film house said last year, Mohanlal is the only star in Mollywood on whom a producer can trust fully when he is using big money in to the making of a film. Sandra Thomas herself knows that as their production venture Peruchazhi which was a fun entertainer had received mixed opinion and most of the views are slide down to negative side.

But still that big budget film made profit for them and the reason was the star power and fans power of one and only Mohanlal. This year as well he had 3 releases as heroes. Ennum Eppozhum, Lailaa O Lailaa and Loham. Out this three films both Ennum Eppozhum and Loham were hits which made more than 10 crore gross and showed close to 9000 shows as well. Lailaa o Lailaa unfortunately does not do well at box office but as per reports the big satellite right it got made the things a little easy for the financers of the film. Now he is coming with his 4th film of this year named Kanal directed by M Padmakumar. Will it be his third success of this year..? Can it become a blockbuster hit..? That is the question now in the mind of film lovers in Kerala.

Kanal is not creating much hype and reports says that the flick focused on the actor in Mohanlal than the star image in him. But has the elements to make you feel good as well. A fact everybody knows in our industry that if a Mohanlal film gets an average response from theater it can give the financer a decent to big profit and also delivers at least a super hit in box office.

Kanal surely offer you something different as it will have Mohanlal in a character with negative shades. Also they are keeping all to themselves and want audience to experience in cinema halls. So we also hopes that Kanal will give Mohanlal the third success of this year or may be more.

Yet another issue of fake video spreading through whatsapp and other online platforms has been reported as per some media news. This time it was from Tamil cinema industry and the victim said to be the heroine of Kamal Haasan film Vishwaroopam. Her name is Pooja Kumar and she had played the female lead in that film along with Andrea Jeremiah. Some days back a multimedia clip (MMS) had begun to spread through whatsapp in the name of Pooja Kumar and the clip was vulgar. The sources close to the actress reported that it is not her and the clip was made of using someone who has facial resemblance to Pooja Kumar.

Pooja Kumar was one of the woman who once got the Miss India award and she is also a very popular Television Anchor as well in many programs in India and United States of America. She also had done a key role in this year released Kamal Haasan film named Uthama Villain as well. She had received spectator attention for her beauty as well as acting skills through her role in Vishwaroopam in which she was the pair of Kamal Haasan.

When asked about the incident the actress reportedly responded that she does not want to react to such filthy incident. This had become one of the worst part of social Media now-a-days. Many celebrities had victimized like this as many fake videos claiming to be actresses comes and spreads through online medias like hot property. Now whatsapp become instrumental in sending and receiving these kind of videos and it is also very difficult to control the spreading of these kind of videos once it comes to many people’s hands specially in the hands of youngsters.

Mammootty with a blockbuster hit and class hit this year !

Mega Star Mammootty has really made a solid year out of his 2015 releases with a mass hit and class hit in his kitty. He has been going through some terrible periods for the last 4-5 years but the born of this year had changed things for him. From last year last portion he showed signs of a comeback with films like Munnariyippu and Varsham. But a big commercial success that eluded him for last 4 years was came on this year Vishu Season for him.

Even though his fireman had generated a moderate success that was not enough for a star of his stature to show in front of people. But Siddique directorial film Bhaskar the rascal had given him the much awaited super success and it went to become a blockbuster success collecting around 17 crore rupees. Then again the films he done with commercial flavor like Acha Din and Uttopyayile Rajav bombed at Box office. But he made a grand return again as an actor this time with Salim ahammad directorial Pathemari. This has the potential to become a class hit of this man in this year.

But we have to think what this positive reviews and appreciation for Pathemari is telling to Mammootty. It is simple that people wants roles like Pallikkal Narayanan from him which exploits his great talent. If this film get the success it deserved then other directors also come up with films which can use this actor’s potential rather than his star value. People had become his fans by watching his epic performances in films like Oru Vadakkan Veeragadha, Amaram, valsalyam etc. They not become his fans by watching Rajadhi Raja or Acha Din kind of films. They want Mammootty the actor more than they want Mammootty the star.

Films like Pathemari may be a slow starter at box office but definitely can win the money back if we support the film and give it some time there. Pallikkal Narayanan had already won the hearts of malayalees who saw the film and that is its biggest success. It is also an appeal to the Mega star as well which says that we love you as a great actor than as a great star.

On this 16th , the much awaited Mollywood film Lord Livingstone 7000 Kandi will be released and as you all know it is coming from a director who had made both of his film successful at box office and already won a national award as well for his first film named 24 North Katham. The film tells a fantasy subject which may or may not happen in our real life. The trailer and teaser of the flick as well as the making video which is out offers as a smell of something unique and a visual spectacle never been seen in a malyalam film is coming on its way. Anil Radhakrishnan Menon also says that they are trying to give all something of a unique kind of visual experience through this film which will have a social relevance as well like his other films.

Actor Kunchacko Boban who is playing a character called Philipose in this film says that this will be a film about forest. Director Anil Radhakrishna Menon said that almost 90% of this film is shot in different forests of Kerala. Tamil actor Bharath is playing the character named Sam in this film and he said this one of the biggest films he had done so far in his career. Nedumudi Venu is playing a key role in this film and it is his 3rd film with the director as he had become the part of all films directed by Anil Radhakrishnan Menon. Director said that it was the character played by Reenu Mathews is the first one which comes to his mind when he thought about the film. He knows a real life character in the lines of her onscreen character as well.

Chemban Vinod also playing a character in this film and he too had working the 3rd time with this director. Chemban Vinod says that it will be an experience for all of us while we watches this film in theaters. Sunny Wayne is another character in this film and Anil says that he is very simple human being. Jacob Gregory is playing a character named Ananatha Krishnan in this film. Sudheer Karamana is playing a very peculiar kind of character in this flick and this is his 2nd film with the director as well.

The flick has been the first production venture of Global United Media and has great importance to VFX as well which made it a big budget film.

Kamal Haasan to replace Mohanlal in Shaji N Karun’s Gaadha ?

2-3 years before a project has been announced with the title Gadha by Shaji N Karun and Mohanlal was chosen to play the lead role in that film which was planned to make in Malayalam and Hindi. The flick was based on a famous work named Kadal written by one of the most popular literary figure in Kerala, T Padmanabhan. The flick has been planned as a big budget one and there were reports heard that the music composition of the film is going on at some foreign country in the leadership of some famous foreign musician.

But later the news came that the project is dropped due to some financial problems. Then again the news came that Mohanlal is withdrawn from the project due to his busy schedule but the project is on. The team behind the film said that if Mohanlal comes in the film the budget will increase more than what they expects it to be and that budget will be too much for a Malyalam film. Anyway now the rumor is doing its round saying that Kamal Haasan is agreed to do the lead role in the film.

Shaji N karun believes that if Mohanlal is not available then only Kamal Haasan is capable of pulling of that character in the film. Now reports says that Gaadha will not speak Malayalam instead it will speak Tamil as Kamal Haasan is roped in to play the lead role. Tamil cinema has bigger market and a big budget film can recover its cost from such a big market Tamil offers. It will also speak Hindi as well as per report. Still there is no official word came from the team behind the film about this news. But interestingly they did not denied it as well till now.

It is really a prestigious project for Shaji N Karun and he is all set to make it possible at cost. Earlier he had done Swapanam with Jayaram when there is a delay came for the starting of Gaadha with Mohanlal. But that delay had made Mohanlal unavailable from then as he had no dates at all to give.

Puli to reach 100 crore club soon

Ilaya Thalapathy starrer flick Puli is all set to become the 3rd Vijay film to enter the 100 crore club in Vijay’s career. It was earlier two Murugados directorial films named Thuppakki and Kaththi entered the 100 crore club in Vijay’s career. But if Puli reach the 100 crore club it will be sweeter fir Vijay and Vijay fans because the film had received maximum negative reviews all over and Vijay had to face big criticism as well for doing such a film. Apart from that the income tax raid in his house and office also were related to some financial issues of the film Puli as well. So even after all negatives if the film able to break the 100 crore barrier, then it will be a great thing for Vijay and his fans.

The producers of the film officially said through their twitter account about the collection of Puli. Shibu Thameens and PT Selva Kumar who jointly financed the film said that the flick had collected rupees 71 crores from its first week and the satellite right was sold by earning a whopping 22 crore rupees. Without other rights the film had already earned 93 crores.

They says that it has been doing fairly good business even after getting negative reviews and will surely reach 100 crore club as there is not much opposition for the film in Tamilnadu till Deewali releases comes. The success this film is getting once again proves that in star value Vijay is turning as another Rajinikanth in Tamilnadu with continuous success and continuous 100 crore films.

Vijay fans are all set to welcome the next film of Vijay which is filming now by director Atlee in which Vijay plays a police officer and it will be his first out and out police role. The Deewali releases of this year in Kollywood is Ajith’s Vedhalam and Kamala Hasan’s Thoongavanam. And also Siva Karthikeyan’s Rajni Murugan also coming in this deewali. Till that time Puli will continue making merry at box office even though Vikram’s 10 enradhukullais coming on this October 21st.

Ennu Ninte Moideen collection report – 24 cr+ from 25 days

At last Prithviraj had surpassed that previous best of his in terms of gross collection. Even though it was not his solo blockbuster, the Lal Jose directorial film named Classmates was the highest grosser film in which he played an important role. It was around 23 crore rupees. But now all that is changed by Ennu Ninte Moideen which not only gave him the first solo blockbuster of his career but also surpassed Classmates in total gross by collecting more than 24 cr+ from just 25 days of its theatrical run from Kerala. It not only gave is the highest grossed of Prithviraj, by surpassing 23 crore collection it also become the second biggest grosser in Mollywood this year surpassing Nivin Pauly’s film Oru Vadakkan Selfi.

Now Ennu Ninte Moideen had mainly 4 films in front it to become the highest grosser of Mollywood. In those four films Drishyam which had made 75 crores of revenue and Premam which had made 60 crores of revenue is a very hard task to surpass. But Ennu Ninte Moideen can surely surpass Twenty20 which had 32 crores of total revenue and Bangalore days which a revenue around 45-48 crores.

Ennu Ninte Moideen is still sitting pretty at the top of box office ranking in this season even after many films like Life Of Josootty of Dileep, Kohinoor of Dileep, Puli of Vijay, Rudrama Devi of Anushaka Shetty and Pathemari of Mammootty came after its release. Still it is getting heavy crowds on weekends and a steady crowd on working days. It does not get hold over at many screens as well. A flurry of releases coming up from October 16th including 5 Malayalam films and 1 Tamil film and it can slow down Moideen if it gets good report.

Ennu Ninte Moideen had already earned more than 10 crore rupees from its Kerala share and when the satellite right too added the film made of using 13 crores is highly profitable now. Its only 25 days now and it will surely get long run as well. So money is all set to flow in to Moideen’s kitty.

Malayalam cinema is getting stronger with successes to good films

Malayalam cinema had went through some terrible periods in the beginning of this year but came back strongly after that with some big as well as good successes. The first major successes this year were Oru Vadakkan Selfi from G Prajith- Nivin Pauly team and Ennum Eppozhum by Sathyan Anthikkad-Mohanlal team in the month of March. April month saw another mega success as Mammootty-Siddique team’s Bhaskar The Rascal did very well at box office giving Mammootty his first blockbuster is last 5 years.

In May two hits were graced Malayalam cinema. One was the success of Chandrettan Evideya starring Dileep under the direction of Sidharth Bharathan and another was Premam from Alphons Puthran- Nivin Pauly team. Premam was went to become the second biggest box office success in Malayalam cinema and came behind Drishyam in top grossers list of all time. Chandrettan Evideya had got great critical appreciation as well and that is a welcome change that a good film got great commercial success.

But then came Nirnnayakam which got great critical appreciation but failed in box office due to the waves create by Premam. It was unfortunate but really something good also happened with that. A Tamil film named Maass released with it also bombed it may be the first time in recent years that a big Tamil film is failing before a Mollywood release. In July there came Baahubali which has become one of the biggest hit of this year in Kerala as well. But along with that Kunchacko Boban starrer Madhura Naranaga also got moderate success which also got good critical response.

August month saw two successes and they are Loham starring Mohanlal and Kunji Ramayanam starring Vineeth Sreenivasan. Both got above average response from crowd and critics and went really well to attain super hit status. Kunchacko Boban’s Jamna Pyaari also recovered its coast from box office reportedly.

The Month of September really belonged to Ennu Ninte Moideen starred by Prithviraj which emerged one of the blockbusters of this year with great critical response as well. Kohinoor and Life of Josootty also did not failed at box office. The October till now is graced with Pathemari starring Mammootty and it is getting great reviews as well as moving to success. Between all these successes of Mollywood films, big Tamil and Telugu releases such as Puli and Rudrama Devi went down at box office here as well. Yes, Malayalam cinema is raising big time with handful of successes and that too of good films.
