Mohanlal joining hands with Lal in next year

The universal star Mohanlal seems to be the busiest man in Mollywood with lots and lots of project and all seems to be big ones for him. Senior to junior film makers are running all around to get his dates and as always Mohanlal seems to be the safest bet in box office irrespective what their films word of mouth. May that is the reason for more and more big budget films coming Mohanlal’s way and have to say this it is coming only Mohanlal’s way. The actor had a lot of projects to complete and it seems that 365 days in an year seems to be not enough for him as he is flooded with projects.

The latest buzz in our M-Town is that the complete actor of Indian cinema is all set to join hands with the master director and actor Lal for the first time for a film. The film said to be financed by Aashirvad Cinemas and it will start filming by the start of next year. It will be an Onam release of Mohanlal in 2016. The flick said to be in Lal’s trademark style with lots of comedy and action.

Mohanlal and Lal had worked earlier together as actor and director but it was the director duo of Siddique and Lal had done the film Vietnam Colony with Mohanlal in the lead and that was a super success at box office. But this one is going to be the first solo directorial film of Lal with Mohanlal. They both had acted together in the film directed by Lohithadas named Kanmadam which was also a great success. Then they acted together in a film named Unnathangalil in which Lal was the hero and Mohanlal played a cameo in the climax.

This upcoming project will be scripted by Lal himself and he will not be acting in this one as he prefers to stand behind the camera only this time. Lal become a solo director with the second part of In Harihar Nagar and he had later done 3 more films and the last one was with Mammootty in the lead named Cobra which was box office failure.

Director Alphonse Puthren is the one who is in the lime light of Mollywood for the past few days as his latest offering to Mollywood audience named Premam which has young star Nivin Pauly in the lead role is going great guns at box office and all set create some new box office records as well in the coming days. Premam has been receiving great applause and appreciation from all around may it from the common audience and from the film field as well. Congratulations and appreciations are pouring in for him from different corners for this master technician and now he is in the news again for a reason other than his film’s success.

Alphonse Puthran today in his official Facebook page posted a status about Bollywood director Rohit Shetty who had given some biggest blockbusters in the Indian silver screen and can be called the one who has more number of 100 crore films in Bollywood as a director. Alphons Puthren’s posted the status saying it as a letter to the director Rohit Shetty after watching his film Chennai Express recently. The mollywood director says to Rohit Shetty that please don’t insult any regional people with his wonderful language skills. Alphonse Puthren here sarcastically gave a point to remember for Rohit Shetty as he used the language Tamil in his film Chennai Express in a funny manner. It is classic language and Tamil language has great prominence in our culture and making it funny is not a good thing thinks Alphons.

Alphonse Puthran then says that when RohitShetty direct a Hindi film that is going to be there in the mind of zillions of people watching it always make sure that he never unknowingly insult a whole community for sake of entertainment through his film. Alphonse Puthren also asks Rohit Shetty to watch his recent success film Premam and Alphonse Puthran had said that in that film he had tried his best to keep up to the standards of each language used in it and he that Rohit Shetty will also like it if he watches it.

Then Alphons told in that post that before if he said this, Rohit Shetty would have wiped his back with this comment and now he have to wash his face and wipe of his ignorance. Alphons also said sarcastically that he is missing a good quality 100 crore film in Rohit Shetty’s kitty and he is hoping to see one very soon as well.

Premam conceived by Alphonse Puthren seems to be on the way to break all records at box office and it is getting great applause not only from the audience but also from the film world too. There are lots of celebrities wrote in their Facebook page and profiles praising Premam and it is great to see the support a good film gets from all around. Before that only Drishyam had received such a tremendous support but that was really from all around our country. The list of film personalities who praised Premam includes directors, actors and writers etc.

Priyadarshan one of the best directors India has seen wrote in his Facebook page after watching Premam. He firstly congratulated Alphonse Puthren and Nivin Pauly for their success and also told them that they are the real future inspiration for Mollywood. The master craftsman also said that the sound and screen play of Premam is one of the best Indian cinema has witnessed in last 3 years as well. Priyadarshan also congratulated producer Anwar Rasheed the best of the new film makers for the success as well.

Actor Indrajith Sukumaran wrote in his Facebook page that this flick Premam is a whole new cinema experience by itself for him. He also congratulated Alphonse Puthren, Nivin Pauly and Anwar Rasheed and all the new comers in this flick for its success. Actor writer and director Madhupal said that he had seen the film from kadinamkulam V track cinemas and really felt good. He said that he felt the same feeling when he watched the film ‘For The People’ as the theater is full with youngsters and the film is sweeping the youngsters. Madhupal also said that Nivin Pauly is becoming a mass hero now.

Vineeth Sreenivasan had wrote after watching the film that he wanted to write a million things about the film as he really loved it to the core. But he don’t have enough words and time to describe the experience he got after watching the film. Vineeth had really appreciated Nivin as he felt that this was Nivin’s career best performance. He told that Vinay Fort was amazing and wants to work with him as well. He also congratulated Alphonse, Anwar Rasheed and Anand for their great work.

Premam show cancelled in Kozhikode, irked fans destroy the theater

Disturbing news has emerged from a theater in Kozhikode. Fans who got upset after the second show of Premam was cancelled dismantled the theater. The incident took place in Apsara theatre last night. As usual, the show began at the scheduled time of 9:15 p.m and it reached the intermission around 10: 25 pm. However, the show did not resume even after 10 minutes. Initially, fans could not apprehend what was happening and gradually certain groups of fans became intemperate. They tore down the screen and knocked down the windows, chairs and the doors of the theater.

The theatre authorities tried to take control of the situation but were unsuccessful in pacifying the fans. Having no other option, they called the police officials for assistance.  Police officials arrived at the theater within short span of time.The fans in the Apsara theater was so ungovernable that they had to make use of baton charge to tackle the situation. There were many women and children present in the theater to watch the movie. People who came to the theater with the family left the place before the ruckus. However, a good portion of audience was determined to express their anger and was not willing to leave the theater.

After being alarmed of the situation in the theater, a large group of police officers under the supervision of S.I. dashed to the theater. Even though police officials tried to conciliate the fans, furious fans did not pay heed to their requests. The theater owner Josekutty clarified that the show was stopped due to the technical issues and even assured that they will make arrangements for the same audience to watch the movie on Friday.

He also made it clear that those who are not able to watch the movie on Friday can approach them with tickets on Thursday morning for refunds. Even after the assurance from the police and the theater authorities some fans remained disgruntled and in the end, police officers used batons to restrain them. The theater authorities have commented that they have suffered the loss of at least 15 lakhs including the destruction of the screen.

Mohanlal who had a lot of adjectives to his name such as the greatest actor in our country, or The complete actor of Indian cinema and the universal star of Malayalam cinema has played the male lead named Georgekutty in this Jeethu Joseph directorial flick which went on to upset all box office records and now interestingly it holds record of holding more number of records in Mollywood. Artists who are a part of this film done a near to perfect job and the screen writing and direction of Jeethu had made this film one of the best ever which graced the silver screens of India.

2. Drishyam (Telugu-2014)

The Tamil version of Drishyam is all set to come to theaters and the trailer is already out. The title of the film in Tamil version is Paapanasham. Ulakanaayakan Kamal Haasan and actress Gauthami (Kamal Haasan’s wife in real life) will play the female lead. Here too Asha Sharath will play the role of that police officer after she played it in Malayalam and Kannada.

5. Drishyam (Hindi-2015)

In Hindi and Tamil too the film expected to make its mark and the success of this flick continues even after 2 years of its release. The film is just become an immortal one. In Kannada and Telugu version the only minus those films had that no one can come near the perfection gave by Mohanlal to that lead character and now it will be Ajay Devgun’s and Kamal Haasan’s turn to try it out to come anyway near Mohanlal.

The film got off to a brilliant start and the money register in ringing in box office once again for Nivin Pauly and Alphonse Puthren team. Anwar Rasheed had delivered another big money spinner after financing the blockbuster Bangalore Days last year. There was lots of report about the gross collection of Premam was doing its round in social media and here is the official one for you all.

The flick ha just rocked the box office statistics with a mind blowing start and the official report which came today says that the flick had earned rupees 6 crore and 20 lakhs from its 4 days of theatrical run from Kerala alone and got a producers share above 2.5 crore from this gross. From this collection the film has already crowned as the biggest opener ever in Mollywood box office history and had already beaten the opening week collection records set by mollywood’s biggest ever success Drishyam and the second biggest hit Bangalore Days released in 2013 and 2014 respectively.

Now it is going great on its way to shatter all the records in Mollywood box office and surpass the wonder called Drishyam and multi star mega blockbuster Bangalore Days. Premam the latest viral success of Mollywood is in the news and discussion in the social media circles right from the first day of its release and it still continues to be the talking point in one way or other way. The film has got a terrific opening at box office with fantastic word of mouth from the spectators and already created some minor records as well. The crowd is still gathering outside the theaters running this flick in masses and it is now enjoying every drop its success in style.

The latest question in rise after this fantastic opening by this Alphonse Puthren flick is that will it pose a threat to the collection records created by Bangalore Days and Drishyam. This viral hit Premam had already crossed rupees 5 crore in 5 days of its run and still going at its best in terms of collection. The record of Bangalore days and Drishaym is not easy to break as well as they both had set a really great record at box office. Bangalore days which was a multi starrer helmed by Anjali Menon had got around 35 crores as total revenue. When we talk about Drishyam record, it is more than double of what Bangalore days had as it had got a total revenue around 75 crores and really standing at the top like an unbeatable one.

After Drishyam it was Premam that got this much of unanimous word of mouth from the Malayali audience. The advantage Premam had got is that it had got more centers than Drishyam at this time of the year which usually don’t have many releases. Drishyam released in a Christmas season which usually has a lot of releases and it is very difficult to get maximum centers all over. Bt Premam don’t have to face that difficulty owing to the time of its release.

We still don’t know how Premam will fare at box office in the coming days as there are many factors including the arrival of rainy season and also the starting of holy month of ramzan will always affects the collection and running of Mollywood films. But Premam had already close to break the opening week record set by Bangalore Days and it will be interesting to see will Premam overtake Bangalore Days or Drishyam in the coming days of its box office run. And even if that happens it is good for Mollywood as the business of the industry will become more and more bigger by this and we will get the chance to see big budget spectacles in our language if the production cost can be recovered.

Madonna Sebastian is now a well- known figure among Malayali audiences specially among the youngsters with her great show in Alphonse Puthren’s recent super hit Premam. Madonna had come to our industry as a singer in the film You Too Brutus starred Sreenivasan and Asif Ali. But now she is an actress as well who want to continue with both her singing and acting career. After the mollywood debut now she is been making her tamil debut as well with the film directed by Nalan Kumara Swamy who is famous for his film Soothukavum and popular actor Vijay Sethupathi is her hero in that Tamil film which has already started filming.

Madonna was offered to do the character of Mary in premam at first. But She liked the character of Celina more and told the director Alphons that she will prefer to do the character of celine. That character has a suspense element in it and will not be used in the posters or any other means of promotion. But Mary has two song sequences and it was quite easy to get noticed and to be popular. But Madonna feels that Celine will be more comfortable for her to play as that character had some resemblance with Madonna’s original self and so she not had any difficulty to enact that character on screen.

She said that she don’t even revealed to her close friends that she had acted in a film and after the first show many of them called her saying that it was a tremendous surprise for them to see her on screen with Nivin Pauly. The actress said that in tamil she is doing an entirely different character and that too of a middle class village girls who comes to town in search of a job. It was through Alphons puthran that she got the opportunity to work in tamil as the director of the Tamil film named Nalan Kumara Swamy and Alphonse Puthren are friends that that really paved the way for her to the Kollywood film industry.

This talented actress was really passionate about her music and she says that music comes first for her but she likes acting too and will try to do justice to both fields as much as she can.
